I am an EXO-L. They are still my ults. The first loves of my K-pop life lol. The main group that can make me swoon and cry literally over nothing. I love them so much. But Seventeen and The Boyz fight it out for that second spot in my heart constantly. Depending on the day you just never know who wins.

Honestly I haven’t been into K-pop very long. I am very a very small eastern mountain town in the eastern US. No one here really talks about much other than country music, gospel music, and classic rock lol. But I have a friend I met online (where all great relationships start now) and she was like oh you should listen to the song Call Me Baby by EXO. I was like I sure!

That was about 5 years ago. I listened to only that song and was afraid to really go any further for a while. I had of course heard of BTS and Black Pink but my head was like K-pop is going to be something I don’t like. Then the pandemic hit and I was at home and was listening to Call Me Baby and was like why not.

My best friend and I listened to 100 song you should know and fell down a rabbit hole. So it has honestly only been since the lockdown really that I really got into K-pop but it really brightened my world and changed it for the better.

How controlled their lives are. From their appearance to who they talk to and when, it’s just sad to me.

Hmm... to be fair I really don’t find any groups over rated? They all work extremely hard to make it and they all deserve love and appreciation.

Aha I have quite a few that I really don’t like: Gangnam style, catallena by orange caramel, bar by crayon pop, zimzalabim and umpah umpah by red velvet (IM A HUGE FAN OF THEM OTHERWISE DONT COME AT ME PLZ)

15. What aspects of kpop make you cringe/feel secondhand embarrassment?

How crazy the fans can be at times. Stalking idols, mobbing them, and sending people death threats or saying hurtful things to others just because they don’t like your bias group is 🙅🏻‍♀️

It depends on my mood and the group, sometimes I love cute concepts and sometimes they make me cringe. Sometimes I like dark / sexy concepts and other times they make me uncomfortable. 🤷🏻‍♀️

In particular though I love Ateez whole pirate concept I must say.

My bias list is so over the place. I don’t really have a criteria. It’s usually one thing or moment that makes me say “wow ok that person is my bias”. (Although by coincidence most of my biases are from Daegu)

For example: I had a hell of a time deciding who my bias is in got7 until JB said in an interview that if he could only keep one memory of got7 it would be when they first met so he could find them all again. Such a sweet moment.

20. Which kpop company do you hate the most?

That snake YG 🐍 I’m not even going to get into it but they’re horrible. Not to say I don’t like the groups from there, just the company. Starship kind of on my shitlist too after everything with Wonho.

21. What are you opinions on shipping?

I ship members in groups but I do so quietly because I’m sure it makes the members uncomfortable. So I don’t mind it, just don’t throw your ship in other peoples faces and act like it’s real and your ship is superior to others.

22. How did you get into kpop?

My neighbor was Korean and played me Big Bang and I immediately loved it. But Then she was like hey there’s this new boy group that debuted you should listen to them too. And that boy group was bts and everything just went up from there 💜

Yes 🙃 one person in my family in particular until I blew up on him and now I don’t get off handed comments anymore.

I can learn them within a few hours if I focus on it.

Jimin. Just because he’s helped me the most of any idol to overcome my body image issues and really start to learn how to love myself. I want to thank him for that.

OKAY SO my biases are both soobin n yeonjun so ur not wrong !! tbh i just love both of their personalities & theyre just kind of people that do stand up for themselves n others (yeonjun is a bit gentler when he does it but my point still stands) & yeonjun is so passionate in all he does and just Tries His Best Always & Soobin is just such a good leader that takes care of the members in such a caring way even if he can be stern at times and he leads the team so well.... also i love his falsetto voice <3

Things are going well - thanks for asking! Movement refers to the individual muscles and bones used in the process of dancing whereas the final product is the look at the end; is my arm the same height as the person next to me, does the group formation look proportional, etc. I wouldn't say Hoshi or Vernon are the best dancers but they have great control over their bodies (the movement) and seungkwan probably picked up on that attention to detail to a certain degree. svt because their choreo allowed me to engage with the music different than how I usually do with that with other groups. I'm multifandom af but svt holds a special place in my brain, hence all the mentioned groups lol. I guess I've been into kpop for a while but that interest has been in waves. In my younger days I was really into keeping up with groups but now I check them out whenever someone, usually a dancer, or music catches my attention. (2/)It's a matter of random sampling; after a while companies are bound to attract a kid with experience in something beyond typical idol expectations. It's like singing: habits die hard especially those learned when young. I'm not sure of they kept up with the (3/)It's like singing in that aspect: old habits die hard. Fei and Victoria for example rarely moved their torso because in traditional Chinese dance the expression and artistry comes from the arms and legs but in a hip hop dominated field constricting those muscles makes them seem stiff and uncordinated. Same goes for anyone who learned ballet. Another example of this is Yuju from gfriend. While her arms are fine, she has a stiff lower body probably due to having learned figure skating (4/)Where the ankles knees and pelvis has to be stiff for the jumps. But when compared to the other girls in gfriend, something looks off about her dancing even when the overall picture looks right. Fun fact: stephanie danced for the LA ballet a few years back. Her approach to dancing is creative and strong even for a former idol. considering that both jyp and lsm actively performed throughout the 90s, I'm not suprised the companies are big on injury pervention. That's not always the case (6/)Because quite a few of their idols have been injured on the job. Yuri only recently got surgery for her ankle even though it's been an issue for a couple of years now. Choreo for TT had to be modified to accommodate jihyo's knee towards the last legs of promotions. Mark's spine is in terrible condition from all the jumps he had to do for girlsx3. Jype and sme stress technique more than other companies do but that is a low bar. No one knows what ** is doing. Either name is fine love (7)

hi sweet anon!! im so so sorry for the delay on this. i took a big step back on tumblr during the month of march because i had so much happening. it was difficult and so im sorry im behind on this cute ask. yoongi + @daegusoftboys: ive said it before and i will say it again: joongi is my otp. i know she has other biases in other groups but like...theyre passing fancies. joongi is the moon that hangs in the night sky. they are such a strong yet soft power couple. like the coolest couple in the room. delicate and pure and sweet, while also so deeply intense in the way they communicate and understand each other. theres a lot of earth and air energy in their partnership, and i just get so delighted knowing they would be each others rock. together there is literally nothing they cant do. SO with that said, joongi are going out on their 5000000000000th date and i guess are engaged at this point? they are going to a dog park, where they are going to sit and play with doggos and hug them and then have a picnic on the water with a lot of cheese and wine and laughter and i and all our friends will sit 100 yards back crying about how much we love them

taehyung + @from-dae-do-dae: i have also said this before and i will say it again: fei and tae are going on their third date to an art museum. its starting in the morning and its going late into the night. i imagine them at the met in new york, looking at classical art and moving between movements until they get to american mid century pastorals. this is where they discuss light and the movement of light in the styles of paintings. then they move to the photography hall where they spend FAR too long, discussing filtering, development techniques and mixed media. then they go to the hall of instruments where they both shed a few tears, and fei goes on to discuss how caravaggio, as amazing as he was, was mostly a painter of music and tae swoons so hard he almost goes blind. at 5 the museum is about to close so and they realize they havent eaten, so they go to dinner at a nice restaurant to have tapas and seafood fare with wine. they talk about the art they saw, and then move on to discuss deep thoughts, hopes and dreams. they expose each other raw but in a gentle fashion, the kind where you ask a series of questions no one can follow until they arent even sure why theyre discussing the reasons its difficult for them to accept and receive love, but there they are - two bottles of wine in and still they dont want to stop. so they walk through central park along the water and for some reason they dont need to talk anymore they just want to be together. /this got out of control/

jimin + @yeol-stole-my-soul: these beans are going to disney world and universal. fight me about it. jimin needs to loosen up and have fun and maria sleeps even less than i do, and needs to be somewhere she can bang pots and pans as loudly as she wants and no one will mind. i fantasize about them running around, going on all the rides, eating everything, screaming at everything, and then staying out until the park closes. the park empties early of kids around 10 so thats two hours of no lines and running around the park doing everything twice. fun. pure fun. FUN AND - romantic. dont think so? jimins face lighting up at the fireworks over the castle - thats fucking magical. marias face when she realizes not only is the food in epcot delicious, but it tastes just like how her mother makes it. trust me. thats magic, and thats real shit. no one is ever as vulnerable as when theyre delighted because happiness is difficult to hold and this is something they get to hold together. when joy and nostalgia mix, that is when you really learn a person. its easy to see them scared and angry - see a person caught pure delight and that is when you see their soul. 

jungkook + @queenoftheimpala: these shy beans are taking a painting with wine class. sure, kook probably wont drink and if he does hell be super slow about it. but ali, my delightful beautiful best friend, will take to the bottle like shes drinking gold and will finally let herself open up. when she lets herself go, hes done for. truly, you cant see ali being herself and NOT fall in love. his ass will swoon so hard hell fall through the floor, covered in paint. together, theyll make art. see why they pick the shapes and colours they choose, learn why they make lines different from one another. ‘my hand is shaky,’ hell say without any confidence, even though his lines are perfect. ‘ive always been terrible at art,’ ali will laugh, sheepish, even though she gets it right without trying. they dont really need to say anything to one another, they just need to exist in one anothers orbit and they will realize 1. they are so incredibly similar 2. they are both the most adorable messes and 3. they were made for one another. again, ill be standing in the back crying saying ‘this is my favourite movie.’

namjoon + @joonbird: these brilliant beans are going to a pottery class. theyre going to make something with their hands and then they are going to dinner with wine and cheese and theyre going to have conversations that range from personal history to metaphysics to philosophy to the weirdest shit theyve seen while traveling. joon will be amazed by her intellect and her wit, amy will be impressed he manages to make a mug that looks more like a bird house. she doesnt ask questions, just admires his artistic intent. at dinner the conversation carries over, though this time theyre mostly silent - making yummy noises as they eat their food and smiling across the table. this is when they start talking about places theyve been, things theyve seen, food theyve tried - experiences - delighted that now they get to experience each other.

jin+ @2seokforyook: this other power couple are going to take an improv theatre class. kim is shy and sometimes so is jin, but this is where he shines. hes delighted to show off and engage, to open himself a little and, by proxy, watch kim open up by impressing her and making her laugh. kim will be tentative at first, but the comfort and warmth he radiates on stage will be infectious and soon, with a few laughs and awkward pauses, she will find her flow, playing games and enjoying being free of any real focused thought for at least an hour. for a while, its light hearted, laughing so hard they cry a little, but then, at the end, its time to get vulnerable. its seemingly impossible, but again, theyre together, warm and in a bubble of comfort created simply because theyre together and theyre learning to have fun without any restrictions. and so they talk - really, truly talk - without words or a script about everything and nothing. and when its over, when they finally get to leave, they realize that they werent acting. not even for a second.

oh dude i hope the results of the exam will be better than what you expect! and i wish i had done language studies, did you focus on a specific language for that or was it more genera linguistics? i’m actually currently taking some online courses now but it’s SO hard bc time management is my enemy... but yeah biases WELL; i have to triple bias in svt bc there’s no other way for me so jeonghan, soonyoung, seokmin. my heart belongs to jongdae for exo and skz is minho! who are yours? i’m quite excited myself!!!! everyone is speculating that this is going to be a repeat of clap promotions and i only became a carat during oh my so that sort of hype is something im looking forward to! they’ve always got so much side/indiv things going on but music 👌🏼 never disappoints. what did you think of the prologue video? i got the results back for two of the sections (there were three; the first was writing so i have to wait for them to read and score it then send me the results). i did as i expected on one subject (not terrible but not great lol) but i actually did worse than i wanted on the last section so ;;-;;

i’ve studied linguistics and want to study more of it at school, but i don’t usually study it at home/on my own. the main languages i practice/refresh are korean and spanish, with a little portuguese. i really wanna get back to studying arabic and yoruba tho! theres a few other languages i would be interested in learning but seeing as i barely study these main 5,, the others can wait lol 

ooh what courses are you taking? i feel you on that time management lmao like i can make a schedule but,, actually, consistently following through with it is the issue.

awwh oh my was such a good era! i mean all the eras are good but like oh my might be one of my favorites of their titles! i thought the video was really cool! i didnt really get the references until i saw the posts on here, but i loved the video nonetheless. comebacks are always so exciting~ my first comeback as a carat was clap! I started stanning in between that and dwc, tho i had been listening to their music a bit before then (which is why i’m surprised i didnt stan sooner? bc i loved/love their music??)

its wild to me that dreamcatcher is almost 2000 posts higher than the next highest, and more than triple the group in third place lol. i mean i know it makes sense cause you can definitely see that if you scroll my archive but damn thats a huge difference. also everglow is way higher than i thought... thats kinda confusing actually lol... and wjsn too, like, i dont really consider them a group that i’m particularly invested in... i guess the members are just pretty haha, i guess i reblog them a lot. 

for the most part though, this is pretty much accurate to my actual top 10 groups. i would take out everglow and wjsn and add in exid (who are a bit below wjsn actually, they’re number 12 on my blog, with only itzy between them and wjsn) and... idk... im not really sure who my tenth favorite group is, maybe it is everglow after all? or maybe it’ll end up being cignature? this list is roughly in a sort of correct order too, which makes sense. weki meki is lower than they should be just because there arent as many posts of them lol, and twice is a bit higher than they should be just because of the sheer amount of posts that there are of them.

dami was my most reblogged for a looong time even before i decided that dc was my number one group, and i remember seeing that jiu had passed dami on my blog, but when the hell did she get to be 200 posts higher than dami lmao? and the only individual idol over 1000 posts? i almost have more jiu on my blog than all of weki meki, oh my god. i cant believe there’s only two groups represented in this top ten though oirjf;egniwerkgege but like i guess that’s why dc and loona’s numbers are so high... gowon is at 350 and that should be higher, she’d definitely be in the top ten, but at one point i switched from tagging her “go won” to just “gowon”, and even though i did use a thing to edit all those tags, the archive only tracks the tags used when something was posted, so if you edit them after the fact, that isnt reflected in the tag list on your archive page. because this is a bad website. that also means a lot of these numbers arent accurate but idk theyre close enough. “go won” does appear on the list too, with 136 posts, meaning i guess gowon’s total should actually be 486, making her the loona member ive reblogged the most, which is accurate lol, that makes sense. she and hyunjin are my biases so that adds up. 

but then... the first non-loona and non-dreamcatcher idol is, of course, yoojung at 358 lol, she of course would be as high as jiu if there were as many posts of her lol. as it stands she’s number 11, she might crack into the top 10 one day. other notable numbers are joy at 326, which makes her the highest non-dc non-loona non-yoojung idol on my blog, eyedi at 297 which is surprising cause i didnt even know there are 297 eyedi posts on this website, and then hayoung (fromis 9) at 196 aw man thats sad, she’s wayyy down, there’s a bunch of idols i skipped over just now, but aw she’s one of my ults lol she should be higher :( 

so like needless to say, this list doesnt really reflect my top ten biases lmao. i think my top ten would be, in no particular order cause itd take too long to think about rn: yoojung, yoohyeon, jiu, dami, hayoung, gowon, hyunjin, kang mina, and idk... some combination of joyuriz (yuri, yena, chaewon), baek yebin maybe, siyeon maybe, dahyun or nayeon or myoui mina maybe, man idk what my top ten biases actually would be lmao... my point is tho that this isnt represented because it comes down to how many posts there are of them, i guess. with groups it can represent my actual order more because a lot of posts are just generally about a group and i dont tag with the members names, and stuff like that. 

idk i just thought this was interesting. i dont pay close attention to this but i check it once in a while cause its just kinda neat

also the highest male idol on my blog is kino at only 94...................................... so................. make of that what you will.........
