Pile 1-

Work hard, work very hard do not worry about the results I understand that this sounds cliche and extremely painful but the time that you spend on complaining can also instead become the time that you spend working hard on. Sometimes you have to work hard to get opportunities as well and that's what you have to do. When we talk about working hard you need to understand that being patient and diligent with your hardwork also comes under hardwork so when I say you need to work hard I am not saying that you don't do so all I'm saying is that you have to also be patient and keep working hard unless the opportunity presents itself to you which I promise you it will. I think this pile will work hard in their young ages and then have a stable, safe and prosperous life in the future. Another lesson that you need to learn is to balance the plate sure you might have alot on your plate but that does not necessarily mean that your plate has to break it can solely be held with a better technique to stop it from breaking. Learn how to manage not to get overwhelmed when you have alot to do.

Pile 2-

Learn how to confront when necessary. Do not shy away telling yourself lies such as oh I don't have to do this oh it's not needed oh just let it go. Don't try to be the bigger person bc you are not. Learn to stand up for yourself and call out other people and their actions when needed. Learn to take a stand, defend yourself and what you believe to be right. Also learn to be brave in the face of opposition as well don't be a coward. What's that quote oh yes "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor" the happiness and peace that you think you will receive by staying silent and not taking anyone's side will actually find you when you start taking side of the right opinions.

Pile 3-

Let go of control. I know you have the best intentions I know you cannot seem to help it but if you truly want to do what's the best, please let go of the thread a little bit. Relax your hands, breathe a little. You are a perfectionist, elder daughter giving others work but then immediately doing it by themselves afterwards because you cannot relax. Well, learn how to because it just harms you and works against you even when you have the best intentions. This pile has to learn how to breathe and let other people breathe stop being disappointed by people without even giving them the opportunity to do so I understand they might not be as competent as you but this does not mean that they are not working hard. You also have to learn to not give up too easily you might give 100% of yourself to something and then because of getting burned out/exhausted you end up walking away right when your reward is about to yield. What you can do in this sense is Instead of putting 100% in the beginning you can just put 70% so that you don't immediately lose your energy by the end. Release control and stop panicking try to balance yourself and control your demeanor. Drink water and practice breathing exercises as well as meditation

Pile 4-

More choices lead to more confusion. The more you know about something, the more confused you gets. This does not mean that you should not do your research before making a decision or committing yourself to something however it's important that you make sure that you do not just get stuck on the decision making progress instead of actually making a decision. Sometimes things are only hard because we are not sure ourselves instead of finding the piece of the puzzle outside whenever you are stuck anywhere try to find it inward. The answers are within you only. This reminds me of the leap of faith concept in spiderman. Loss of something should scare you from loving as it does to everyone else however it should not stop you from doing so. Loving and losing is as natural to life as breathing. To make a room for a new tv you first have to remove the old one just like this in order to get new better you have to first remove the old things. Remember that change is the only constant thing to life and no loss however big should disrupt your ability to have childlike wonder.

Spencer had a few habits and one of those habits of his was wearing mismatched socks. As much as you loved the man you couldn’t help by being bothered by it. You were a bit of a perfectionist and seeing Spencer wearing a bright green sock on one foot with a purple and yellow striped one on the other, it drove you insane. Plus, you had a bit of a theory.

Spencer was known to be a bit of a clutz and with you being somewhat superstitious, you had a hunch that Spencer’s favorite unmatched accessory was causing him his bad fortune.

You were in the bedroom getting ready for the day when you heard Spencer yelp and hiss in the kitchen.

Walking over to him you saw him wipe a wet sponge over his now coffee stained shirt.

“I think you should just change your shirt,” you chuckled and took the sponge from his hands, running it over the fabric to get most of the stain off.

“I might as well yeah.”

“Hey, I had a thought.”

“What about?”

“You know how you can be a bit of a clutz? What if it’s because of your socks?”

“Sweetie, you know that I don’t believe in superstitions.”

“I know I know, you’re a man of science and I respect that, but what if you tried it out, just for a day or two?"

Spencer loved you, and he also wasn’t one to argue, especially when it came to you, so he agreed and went to change his socks.

“Don’t forget to change your shirt too, hun!”

Spencer sighed and mumbled “right,” as he walked back to the closet and reached for a new shirt. Knowing the team though, the topic of him wearing matching socks would be of greater interest to everyone than why he was coming to work with a stained shirt.

Throughout the day you texted Spencer to ask him how he was doing and to know if he had managed to drop a box full of case files on his foot again. Surprisingly enough none of the usual had happened, but what Spencer had failed to let you know was that the team were told to do desk work for the week because they had been on too many cases lately and it was the higher up’s way of giving everyone a “break”.

Spencer decided to use it to his advantage and to put a smile on your face. He didn’t mind you saying “I told you so” to him, because God knows how many times he’s given you a look with that same sentence written all over his face. He always felt bad for doing it later on and would resort to cuddling with you and peppering your face with kisses.

After a few days of the experiment it was time for Spencer to put on the performance of his lifetime. He walked through the door and he was immediately met with you leaning against the doorway with a small smirk on your lips.

“Well?”

“No accidents in the past couple of days!”

“Ha! See, I told you!” you nearly tackled the poor guy in a hug which made both of you laugh.

“I guess so hun. I do miss the way I wore them though so I will go back to that, but I’ll try and wear more matched ones if it’s an extremely important case.”

“That’s what I like to hear.”

Gem Placements bro

idk if anyone has talked about this or watched this guys videos but apparently all gem placements have different meanings and honestly after watching the videos I hate seeing people’s ocs with their gem not correlating to their personality (I know I’m picky)

the videos are by toonsnooper on YouTube if you want better/more explanations I’m just giving a summary and my thoughts on oc idea and stuff

Forehead placement - gems with forehead placements tend to be more tactical, technical very smart. They can tend to be a bit of perfectionists as well and a desire to be in charge. They’re very logical gems. Examples of this would be Pearl, Peridot, and White Diamond. (This one is self explanatory a bit)

Nose placement - okay obviously this one belongs to Jasper. Jasper charges head first into battle, and toonsnooper refers to Jasper as hard-nosed, which means realistic, determined, and tough-minded which Jasper is all of. She walks with her nose in the air, so a nose gem placement could refer to confidence and toughness.

Chest placement - Several gems in Steven universe have their gem on their chest. Amethyst, Bismuth, Blue Diamond, Yellow Diamond, Spinel, and others are all seen to have their gems placed on their chest. Said in video, these gems wear their heart on the outside. These gems tend to be more emotional and may even act irrationally out of emotional outbursts. They believe strongly and feel very deeply. (If I was a gem I would have my gem placed on my chest :3)

Stomach placement - Pink Diamond, Steven, Volleyball (pink pearl), and others have gems on their tummys. These kinds of gems tend to be underestimated and maybe even pushed to the side. They approach situations with a more empathetic outlook and try to understand.

Back placement - Lapis Lazuli is one of the only gems with her gem on her back. Because she can’t see her gem (mostly worded by toonsnooper) her own identity is hidden from her and she’d have to twist in uncomfortable ways to even see or reach her gem. The fact that her gem is on her back makes her so vulnerable to threats, forcing her to be on guard and constantly weary and defensive.

Arm and Leg placement - Gems placed on the arms tend to represent brute strength— several quartz soldiers are shown with this— and gems placed on the legs may represent a more wondering gem like leggy (the ruby) since she’s always confused and never knows where her legs are taking her. I think though, leg placements can also make up for an adventurous and even confident gem, who knows where their legs are taking them.

Palm placement - I’m talking about Garnet specifically and once again this is mostly worded by toonsnooper. Gems placed on the palms show a sense of self identity, and he refers to Ruby and sapphire as two parallels in different universes which is why they pair so well as garnet. The reason being self identity is because normally when characters figure out who they are they look at their palms. When garnet does that, she KNOWS who she is and she’s proud of that.

Malachite - I’m just adding this bc I like the way he talks about this fusion. Jasper and Lapis aren’t too well together because Jasper’s gem is on her nose, always ready to charge forward, but with Lapis’s gem on her back, she recoils, wanting to stay behind. They don’t match in any way and with Jasper’s nose trying to push forward, Lapis’s back wants to well, stay back.

Future Isha & Ren AU

HII OKAY SO I HAVE THIS AU I STARTED IN AO3 and I hadn’t been spending as much time on it as I should but I really like the potential of this au.

Btw if you’re curious you can read the fic here!

Basically, an older version of Isha (19) which survived the Warwick attack (not without a scratch) meets an older version of Ren (18, Marcus’s daughters). Silly shenanigans ensue as they discover new friends, problems, and truths along the way. can you guys tell the parallels are gonna be crazy in this one. I’m aware I may not be the first person to come up with this duo or even an au similar to this, but I just wanted to share my view on a scenario like this!

The rest of this is a bunch of details and ideas for the au (I wish I could draw it out for y’all but unfortunately I have zero talent 😔)

Setting

Basically explaining what Piltover and Zain and some of the existing characters are like after the war, bc YES that did still happen.

It’s been 9 years since the war (Ren was 9 and Isha was 10 in the main series) and things have been better than they’ve ever been between the two cities thanks to Sevika being in the council. But there is still some tension between very few of the citizens. Nine years after war couldn’t really erase the past, after all.

But overall, it’s still the best it’s ever been. In terms of the actual locations, Piltover itself had the most focus in terms of reconstruction and development in the past few years. Why? Because the war took place in Piltover, so it needed major reconstruction and healing compared to Zaun, which was mostly untouched.

This means that the Grey is still somewhat of a problem and the architecture of Zaun remains slightly unstable (but there are plans to make it better, thanks queens Sevika and Vi). But in terms of living conditions, the Zaunites aren’t treated horribly anymore and are given enough food and water in order to live contently.

But again, a lot of effort is going into Piltover atm, and some Zaunites “still hold onto their roots.” This means they’ll still protest against and disrespect Piltover, some even attempting to trash it (Isha) BUT this is VERY few Zaunites, not a majority. Even then, that does kind of add a negative image to Zaunites, but most people in Piltover have learned to understand that not all Zaunites are rebellious. The ones that are are being taken care of by Enforcers.

Ren (18)

Ren is an aspiring architect who attends Piltover Academy has been living with her nanny for the last 9 years after her dad’s death. Despite living comfortably, she does still have an unreasonable uneasiness around Zaunites due to of her dad’s deaths being a result of one. (Mom died giving birth to her, and we all know how Marcus died lol). She doesn’t HATE them, just kinda nervous around them in general.

Ren is a very kindhearted and understanding individual, but she can be a bit of a perfectionist and sometimes a bit impulsive when she’s anxious. She also is really scared of leaving her comfort zone (aka Piltover)

Some fun facts abt her! (might help to look at her Pinterest outfit)

Her outfit’s color palette is a softer version of Marcus’s. This is to show how she’s still connected to Marcus through blood but she isn’t an exact copy of him, instead being much more gentle and caring. In a way, she’s kind of like season 1 Caitlyn, but not exactly.

Her little butterfly pin is a lil reference to what killed Marcus. Ofc this isn’t what it means to HER, bc she doesn’t know that. To Ren it’s just a cute lil accessory lol.

The reason I chose to make Ren an architect was because of the scene with her and Silco! She’s playing with these like building-block things??? And I was like “what if I made her entire career based on that one scene lmao.” But also, ANYTHING would’ve felt more fitting than making her an enforcer. She probably doesn’t have the courage to be like her dad, especially knowing it was his duties that got him killed.

Ren is very judged by her peers because she’s the old sheriff’s daughter. Everyone found out he was a traitor and working with Silco, and so they are always reminded of him every time they look at her.

Admittedly i couldn’t find anything on Pinterest that really captured how I think a grown up Isha would look, this was as close as I could get. 💔

Isha is a “rebel” of sorts who loves the thrill of jumping and moving around, still trying to find Jinx after all these years apart. After having survived the attack on Warwick, it took her years to recover, and even longer to train herself in order to thrive in a way Jinx would’ve done.

Despite technically being an adult, Isha still has a child-like, carefree spirit within her. But she does tend to get a little too careless when it comes to her own safety and the safety of those around her, not to mention she can be a bit petty and easily agitated. She’s constantly moving around all day, not really feeling comfortable anywhere whatsoever. She just wants to feel as happy as she was with Jinx again.

Some fun facts abt her! (might help to look at her Pinterest outfit)

Isha has kind of raised herself to be a shield. Yes she can be a bit careless, but she’s also selfless, and would do anything for people she cares about (which atm isn’t really anyone considering Jinx is gone, but Ren will show up soon)

Isha’s outfit is (obviously) meant to replicate that of Jinx, but it’s in a way that fits her perspective of Jinx. It’s not like us, the audience, who knows all of Jinx’s internal struggles and past and ALL of Jinx. Isha dresses like the Jinx she saw as a hero, her best friend, the cool one, like a parent even. I’m not saying Isha didn’t understand Jinx’s struggles, but I do think her view of her was altered from how we maybe interpret Jinx (honestly not by much tho).

A lot of Isha’s weapons are either built to be just like Jinx’s or are literally just Jinx’s weapons that she found. The only exception to this is her little mining shovel(?) that we see her use, and I think it would be cool if she had a pickaxe as a weapon idk

Sevika and Jinx (cus like we all know she survived bffr) don’t know Isha is alive. She was recovering on her own for years and was a bit isolated. Isha does know about Sevika and doesn’t know how she feels about her being in the council, but as for Jinx she doesn’t know anything about the details of the war and assumes she’s still somewhere in either Piltover or Zaun.

Isha’s still using her teeth as an attack just like when she was a kid lmao. Seriously her bites would HURT like more than usual. With that being said, Isha is definitely a fighter, but I’d stay she’s better at agility and stealth.

While she fortunately recovered from the Warwick incident, she BARELY survived like she was SO CLOSE to dying. She just happened to hide before Ambessa’s army or anyone else found her and has been on her own ever since.

Isha would love nightcore you can’t convince me otherwise

Ren & Isha

Small section, but just kinda wanted to share how these two would even interact in the first place. I won’t be revealing how they meet, but all you gotta know is that it doesn’t start out on good terms and it’s related to their parents (Marcus & ig Jinx)

Isha will be the more chaotic of the two obviously (and yes just to clarify she’s still non-verbal) while Ren is somewhat the voice of reason. Ren helps Isha value her safety while Isha helps Ren from being scared of every new opportunity in life. Of course, I don’t think these are the only things they’ll help each other with. There will definitely be a lot of character growth.

Also, uhh no Ren doesn’t know it was Jinx specifically who killed her dad. She was just told it was a “deranged Zaunite.” Isha also doesn’t know that Marcus basically contributed to the repression in the Undercity and that Ren’s dad was literally an Enforcer. Will they find this out eventually? Probably, but it’ll go differently than what you’d expect.

aaand that’s it! FOR NOW🗣️ yes I’ll probably update this, I have TONS of plans with these two and just the world of Piltover and Zain in general after the war. I will be updating the fic but also just posting ideas here. There’s going to be a lot versions of characters aged up (background & main ones) after 9 years, a lot of conflict, surprises, bittersweet moments, and some closure for the characters.

Poultry is my beloved, stressed, constantly struggling, perfectionist girlgenius chicken! <3 ohh where do I start with her ... she's the only human in Spina Venatores, a girl who figured out how to mix mankind's logic and the arcane. her role in Spinas

i'll put the rest under a read more bc it got a bit long o7

she's the little girl mentioned in Darley Clatter's in-game Stories! Lilian! at least until bluepoch releases a Darley Clatter anecdote where they show the actual Lilian lmfao

they don't explicitly state that Lilian is a human afaik, but since her father is hiring an arcanist to get her the best horse in the world, I interpreted it as how humans will hire arcanists for frivolities like this

either way, Poultry is that little girl; spoiled, bratty, precocious, too smart and observant for her age, eager to have adventures and have everything she asked for. she was so enamoured with her childhood friend Darley Clatter and arcanum as a whole that she asked her parents to make her into an arcanist despite being a pureblooded human--when she found out this is Literally Impossible, it sort of ruined her friendship with Darley Clatter due to resentment and jealousy, and she put all of her time and efforts into finding a way to BECOME an arcanist, to mix both humanity and arcanists into one, instead of having humans recreate arcane skills with machines and whatnot

and she ACTUALLY succeeded, she figured out the differences between human and arcanist physiology through experimenting with arcane creatures and critters, and then regular animals with arcamun similar to Pickles and whatnot--horrible horrible stuff going on, stuff that leads sometimes into creating homunculus and chimeras and things that should not be alive! which got her kicked out of her university!

now. I'm fully aware that, as far as we know in canon, it's impossible for pureblooded humans to become infected or to make use of arcanum the same way arcanists do--one needs the smallest amount of arcanist heritage, no matter how diluted through the ages, for that to happen (like Semmelweis). it's all biology and physiology and science stuff. so for Poultry, her theoretical process of becoming arcanist involved a lot of. well. forcing her body to naturally adapt to arcanist cells and produce them. which could only happen through unethical self experimentation, something she could only get in Manus Vindictae

Venison recruits her on a whim, convinces the higher ups that her knowledge and experiments could be weaponized against mankind, and in turn, they give her the resources needed to go through her dream of becoming an arcanist. and these resources are Spina Venatores! because everyone there has specific arcanums related to the human body--flesh, blood, bones, etc! and it fucking works! frankenstein's monster! her body can NOW slowly adapt to arcanum!

the DOWNSIDE is that the constant exposure to arcane creatures guts and blood of all sorts (one of Spina Venatores' jobs is to hunt down mythical beasts, aside from hunting down important targets) actually caused Poultry to become infected with the Beyond Disease--the Manus Mask she wears was explicitly given to her by the higher ups to fuel her extremely weak arcanum into something actually useful (think of Enigma's explanation about low tier vs high tier arcanists and batteries). but ALSO to slow down the Beyond Disease, because Manus is invested in seeing if they can genuinely turn a human into an arcanist with the intent of creating more cannon fodder to turn into Disciples and Followers (yknow, the monsters arcanists turn into when they wear the masks)

so unbeknownst to Poultry, she's become an experiment within Manus Vindictae!! and shes probably going to die very soon!!

a fun fact is that her arcanum is both related and powered by delusion and belief, becoming stronger the longer she believes herself to be arcanist like any other, but also hinting towards the Beyond creature that infected her being a fairy of sorts.

some informal thoughts

hello! hope the holiday season has been kind to all of you. and i hope all my jewish followers had a lovely hanukkah! anyways, since i said a few months ago that i’d pick poetry smackdown back up sometime around this time of year, i thought i should make a post. the gist of it is that i’m still quite busy, i have a break that’s about three weeks shorter than I was planning on, and i don’t currently have the mental bandwidth required to read, contemplate, and sort through poem submissions in a way that does justice to them, even if i were to recruit some friends to help out. since running a tournament format requires at least five weeks of continued engagement once it’s underway, and since i’m not at capacity to offer that right now due to the change in my schedule, i’m gonna have to bow out for now. sad bc i was looking forward to it!

my hope is that i’ll have some more time over the summer to hunker down with it, in which case you’ll be hearing from me. it’ll frankly depend on the kind of job i land in for the summer, but i find that my unemployed spirit can typically keep me doing stupid shit regardless of workload...to a point. i don’t want to make any promises because i don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up just to let them down again LOL. i do admit the amount of exposure the first tournament got has made me feel like more of a perfectionist this time around, doubly because i don’t feel that i’m very suited to being a public online presence (even a relatively quite small one)—i’m bad enough at responding to emails for my own real life responsibilities, let alone tumblr asks for the silly responsibilities i invent for myself lol. that’s not to say i no longer want to do it, or i don’t enjoy it, or even that i don’t feel capable of making a really interesting bracket—just that if i am working to put something new together, and if people are taking the time to submit poems they care about, then i don’t want to half-ass it.

my second admission is something like this. I made the original bracket as a celebration of poetry and our relationships to it. yes it was silly and competitive, and the poems were very tumblr, but still, celebration was the intention—I wanted to have conversations about poetry. I stand by the bracket format as a fun and valuable way to foster conversations about poetry, but truthfully, the poems i’m wanting to have conversations about right now—the poems that we should be talking about right now—are ones that i'm not comfortable putting in a bracket. I reblogged The Baffler’s Poems from Palestine collection on here earlier, and Najwan Darwish’s “Who Remembers The Armenians?”, which I still often find repeating through my head when I'm traveling from one place to another, walking home or riding the bus. I came across this beautiful thread recently where people have been translating Dr. Refaat Alareer’s “If I Must Die” into their own languages (this just makes my translator's heart sing!!!!!!). @havingapoemwithyou has been posting some great poems from and for Palestine as well—check out their tag here.

There's always more to add, and I'll be posting more on here as I come across it, but that's what I feel anyone should be focusing on right now when it comes to poetry. i think poetry can be an escape but it should never be a distraction. does that make sense? i wouldn't be against doing a one-off poll here or there, but it feels weird to be making a tournament for poetry right now, or anytime soon. i feel like what free time i have right now is still best utilized helping my friends with organizing in the real world. and god, a bit off-topic but while I'm talking, fuck poetry foundation—I have so much respect for all the poets keeping up the boycott, because while i think it's a simple decision, it's not always an easy one (Aurielle Lucier discussed that here).

warnings: established relationship, fluff, cody is awkward as fuck when it comes to romance he's just like me frfr, wrapping paper is his biggest enemy, very mild angst like... a pinch of salt type of angst, cody is a perfectionist but idk if i portrayed that well enough here.

Cody stared at the clumsily wrapped gift placed in front of him, his arms crossed and his brows furrowed as he glared at the gift as if it had scorned him in some way.

And to him, it basically has.

You see, the gift he's been trying to wrap neatly and nicely is something he got for you, his lovely significant other. This is the first Valentine's Day he's spending with you, and while it doesn't have to be perfect, he would at least like to wrap your gift in a way that isn't... ugly.

It's not even that big of a gift. It's just a little bracelet he made in his spare time, so why the hell is it so hard to wrap in the little box he got for it?

He could just ask someone to help him wrap the gift, but that feels... I mean... it feels like that would be cheating? Strangely enough? Like... he made this for you, so he should be the one to wrap it up as well, no matter how annoying and how difficult it was starting to become.

It feels like it'll mean more if he does this himself.

"How long have you been standing there?" He asks, and your brow quirks up slightly at how strangely nervous he sounded. His behavior sort of reminded you of the day he had asked you out.

"Long enough to be concerned about whether or not I need to hide wrapping paper from you in the future." You respond, smiling a bit to yourself when you see Cody relax a bit at the joke you cracked.

"Ha ha. Funny." He blandly responds, though you don't miss the way his lips twitch upwards slightly. You deem your joke a success, even if he behaved otherwise.

"So, you wanna tell me what it is you're hiding behind your back? Or is it another one of your... projects?" You ask, crossing your arms and patiently waiting for his response.

And that made him tense up again.

He doesn't know why he felt so nervous about giving you a gift, poorly wrapped or not. I mean, you're literally dating each other, so he shouldn't get nervous like this, right? But also like, you're the first person he's ever dated and he honestly didn't think it would last this long even if it has only been a few months since he asked you out but still! Still!

It wasn't actually that poorly wrapped. Truthfully, it's way better than anything you could ever do. The wrapping paper was even your favorite color.

You take the box from him, glancing down at it before looking back up at Cody. He simply motioned for you to open the box, so you peel the wrapping paper off and do just that, taking the lid off the box to see the handmade bracelet neatly placed inside.

"It's not much, but I got you this," He awkwardly rubs the back of his neck, "I mean, if you don't like it, I can make you something else! I know it's not the best thing in the world, but-"

"I love you."

He falls silent at your words, his nervous rambling cut off as he stares at you. You look up from the bracelet to stare at him, and your expression was so serious and genuine that it almost felt as if the air had been forced out of his lungs.

"Cody, I love you." You repeat.

"Oh," He stutters a bit, "I love you too." His words are a bit quieter compared to yours. It felt awkward saying those words out loud knowing you could actually hear him.

But the smile that bloomed on your face made him forget about all of that, and you nod, satisfied with his response, "Good. Now, help me make you one so we can match."

So sorry this took so long to get to but I come bearing gifts! Sorta! Sketches and mood board!!

Just for some basic my hero lore, in this world people started developing powers randomly and now they live in a predominantly superhero society. The powers are called quirks and while not everyone has one, about 80% do. The story follows the main character as he goes to a school to become a superhero. A bunch of stuff happens and he (and by extension his classmates) get targeted by a bunch of villain stuff and bad guys and just bad things in general. There’s a lot more obviously but that should be good for now.

As a little disclaimer, she got a bit of a design tweak. The original sketches are gonna be closer to what she becomes in later seasons after some character development, but she starts off something like these sketches with the long hair. Same goes for the hero costume, she starts at something like this and gets upgrades later (her forearm shields mainly).

Idk why but I love the little teeny doodle of her in the right like she’s just so little fhjdjfjdkdjf also don’t mind those notes they definitely don’t have anything to do with anything nope nope nope

Also just so I have these somewhere, here’s a little breakdown of her personality and quirk! Yuumi is a very serious and disciplined person. She’s a perfectionist who’s constantly holding herself up to a high standard and can be very self critical when she doesn’t meet it. She is very polite but awkward, so she doesn’t really know the social stuff that’s outside of her “how to be nice” checklist. She’s tends to be very competitive and doesn’t like being overlooked for the things she does. She’s a very independent person, so much so that she really struggles to ask for help or open up at all. She’s afraid that people will see her as weak and incapable (two things she really doesn’t wanna be viewed as).

I think I’m gonna name her quirk “impact absorption and redistribution.” Her body can absorb the force of an impact and store it for her to use later. She uses this stored energy to really strengthen her attacks. If she doesn’t use up the energy in time, she turns into a sort of bomb and her body will expel all the stored energy in a blast. The drawbacks are that what she can absorb some of the impact, she still gets some of the hit and can only take so much. It also gives her various joint problems. Her quirk mirrors her personality in that she tends to hold things in until she explodes which is great

Now onto the questions :D

1. I’m gonna be real, this question is what took me so long bc I definitely overestimated how much I developed her fhdjdjjfjfjf I have a bad habit of forgetting characters have families and trying to just orphan them to make it easier. But we push through 😤

She and her family live a few cities over from the school she goes to (the main one of the anime). She lives with her mom, dad, and younger brother. Her relationship with her mom is okay, not the best but not the worst either. They’re both usually just too busy (with work for both of them) to hang out much and don’t really know each other well. She and her brother hang out some and are sorta close, but her dad’s influence kind of strains their relationship.

Her relationship with her dad is a big part of her character. He is a very strict guy who has high expectations of his kids. He’s also high key misogynistic and is sure to share all of those opinions with Yuumi. Things relating to how women don’t make good heroes really gets under Yuumi’s skin bc female heroes have been a lot of her role models and hero work is something that she would want to do. She can’t stand the hypocritical things he says about what heroes should be like when he is far from it. His strictness and her frustration with him manifest in her being quite the perfectionist (trying to be all of the “good” things she’s she’s been expected to be growing up: being hard working, very polite and respectful, remaining in control of situations, not being emotional, overworking herself, not speaking about things that are “unnecessary”) while also recognizing that a lot of these things aren’t actually good (but some of these are difficult for her to make her brain accept). She’s got a bunch going on, but she really wants to be a hero despite what he thinks. This leads her to fully supporting herself by working a lot so she can pay for her own schooling at such a prestigious place. It’s a lot but it’s the only way since she wouldn’t get the support from him.

As for friends, she’s got a few! I think she would get a long with a lot of her class at least as acquaintances (as long as they weren’t put off by her). Specifically I think she would be close with her classmate, Tsuyu. Tsu is a pretty blunt but sweet character which is something Yuumi would need: someone to call her out on her crap but also support her. I could also see her being friends with Uraraka. Uraraka is really supportive and sincere, but she’s also very dedicated which Yuumi would appreciate. Lastly, she’d probably be friends with Kirishima. Kirishima is a friendly sweetheart who’s dedicated to “manliness” which is basically just code for being a good person. I think it would be a breath of fresh air what with her experience with her dad. Plus she and kiri both value strength and morality type stuff. They could also bond over being gymbros and having similar quirks (both being quite defensive that is).

2. Yep! If she were a real part of the cast she’d be a main side character hfjdjdjfjdfjdjd she’d probably pop in and out of the main characters respective friend groups depending on the episode if we’re being honest.

3. She definitely prefers things to be planned. She likes to have a sense of control over her situation at all times. Everything she does is very thoughtful and orderly which requires a solid plan. Chaotic things tend to throw her for a loop.

4. Her favorite color is probably blue. That’s the primary color of her hero costume and she really likes it.

5. Definitely “Surface Pressure” from Encanto

knitting diaries: the improvement

first and foremost: the tutorial i followed. no one is doing it like ikoxun

i finished my second hand warmer, and i’m so happy to report that it turned out wayyy better than the first!! the ribbing on the bottom turned out pretty good imo, but i got really sloppy when i was doing the top ribbing. i think the problem has less to do with me not purling correctly and more to do w me not remembering if i knitted or purled into the last stitch which i know sounds ridiculous but i have the same problem when doing the lemon peel when i crochet, i have very bad goldfish memory lol. i said in the last post that the stitches were gappy bc of the needle size i used, but tbh the stitches for the heart one dont really pull at all so maybe it had more to do with my tension + the different size of the alternating pink and white rows since the yarn sizes were a bit diff?

i was thinking about redoing that hand warmer entirely, but then i figured that if i was doing that, i might as well redo the heart hand warmer too since it’s very off center if i don’t position it a certain way on my hand. i don’t know where this perfectionist attitude is rlly coming from lol esp since when i crochet i’ll make a million mistakes that really should be frogged but then am just like fuck it we ball. overall i would really recommend this project to beginners. i initially was gonna make leg warmers but since my legs are longer and wider than my hands i did get kinda unmotivated bc it felt like i was working forever only for the project to increase by like one millimeter lol

Some random AU idea:

A twst x HP au

Where Riddle's mother was Petuan and Lily's older sister, but then she one day went missing. No one in the magical world know of her existence, for even though she has magic, her magic is not of the magical world, but of otherworldly magic. You could say she was like an Alice.

Anyway, years went bay and neither of their new families know about it. Why should they? Went neither Madam Roseheart nor Petunia know about each other's wellbeing, and the less said about Lily's, the better.

But it all change when Trisizard Tournament happen. I like to imagine it happen a year after the whole twst cannon, so the 2nd years are all now 3rd years and all. Anyway, the shenanigans happen and along the way Riddle became friends with Harry, somehow. So the next year happen, Riddle now is a 4th year, and he want to study law. But he is interested with the other world, and since the twst world want to mingle and now more about their otherworld brethren, they let some of their fine young mages to get their internship there to study more about that world. Riddle is one of them.

Anyway, since Riddle is a boy and he is mostly close to Harry, he choose to stay with him. Harry, after so many begging and deals with the Dursley (promising them that Riddle is 100% normal (pfft, no), and he want to study law and is really smart), he manage to secure a place for Riddle in his house (re: prison).

Now, last year, there was some fiasco that happen. Considering of Riddle's so familiar look to them. Red hair as beautiful as roses, pretty face that can make any doll and flowers weep at his beauty. A brilliant mind unlike many other. So achingly similar to a now lost woman they used to know. Even Harry was surprised at first.

Now Riddle finally meet the Dursley. Petunia, upon first meeting him, feels the same familiarity like those in the magical world. But she brushed it aside, refuse to dwell on long forgotten scar. But when Riddle introduces himself and then told them of his Mother's name, all hell break loose for Petunia's perfect little life.

For here stood right in front of her, a boy so painfully similar to a long lost little sister. A son of a famous doctor, who bare the name of a long lost older sister, never to be known where she has gone or what may happen to her.

I was finishing V3's first chapter today when I remembered to turn on my wifi on the phone and got the notification :v

So then, you can have for backstory Petunia and Lily kinda falling off the good terms with Mrs Rosehearts. I guess she could be older... Maybe around 5-7 years older, therefore have a big age gap which makes their relationship a bit stranded on the early stages, because it was clear that Mrs Rosehearts would start school and have responsibilities more earlier than the 2 younger sisters, which would leave less time for bonding.

So when she went missing, the worry was obviously more prominent on the parent's side. Not to say Petunia and Lily were worried as well, but while their parents were pursuing this relentlessly, in between the sisters it will evolve like some taboo subject due to the more distant relationship.

So that would influence Petunia and Lily as well. Like it would be clear that the oldest sibling will be a role model. Mrs Rosehearts was a perfectionist and gutsy woman. Maybe Lily took the guts while Petunia the perfectionism. Miraculously, they keep on touch. That would lessen everyone's worries about the missing part, but still, only through small letters, who never mentioned anything about where she was or what she was doing.

Fast forward and Lily hits the bucket. With the death being announced, Mrs Rosehearts broke contact as well, clearly not being able to come in touch again. For Petunia to be hit to take care of Harry was like a jab in the stomach. Not only she lost now 2 sisters, but the infant of Lilly was now put into her care.

And it was clear that all was due to magic. So when Harry was basically confirmed to be a wizard, it was obvious that Petunia would want even the less ties or closure with him, KNOWING full well that the magical world only will take Harry away too. It was just a matter of time.

Fast forward with her condoning Dudely and Veron's whole foul treatment of Harry. The Hogwarts letter arrive and off is Harry to get whisked away to the magical world, just how his mother was. Him making friends and going through all sorts of adventures. It was very resemblant of Lily's past there.

Harry meets Riddle and both become friends. There were many differences in between the 2 magical worlds, so Riddle, a well knowledgeable person about that, whould be like a second Hermione, except apparently way more easy to piss off and way more violent. :v

To fall better in place, I would say that the goblet of fire still happened during Riddle's 2nd year, so we can expand on book 5 by making it Riddle's 3rd year.

That would flesh even better the bond the 2 would build. Adding to it that most likely Riddle would use his UM on the pink toad, discovering that, despite the magic differences, the collars can still block magic from being casted even to this other type of wizards. Which makes it a veritable weapon against Voldy. This also can be highlighted better if Riddle and let's say Deuce and Azul would join in the ministry busting. It would bring the news to the death eaters and realise 'oh shit, we can't get collared or we'll be done for'. :3

And realising the actual magnitude of the situation, it makes even the more reason for Riddle to stay the summer with Harry. They had a trump card.(also Malleus being salty af for his buddy, Cedric, hitting the bucket) so if voldy tries some funny shit, just collar him then beat the shit out of him! Problem solved! :3

Cue Harry making the begging to the Dursleys and getting a pass.

And at first, everything seems OK. Riddle was a polite lil boy. Now the fact that Dudely was a lil shit to him was a negligeectable thing.

But he brings an air of familiarity and some of his reaction and responses are hitting close to home for Petunia.

Cue her investigating and figuring out why Riddle has such a familiar resemblance. Being clueless about it, when asked about his parents, Riddle just says the usual. His mom was a doctor as well as his father and currently both were at his home country. Simple as that.

And that hits even harder for Petunia, which realises that her oldest sister, the only sister remaining alive, was in fact well on her own, having a separate life from her. She raised a son and managed to cut and erase any ties with her roots.

So Petunia might come to realise that maybe, the magical world wasn't really the one to blame entirely. And she sees that when he sees Riddle acting just like a normal magicless boy. He had that aura of possessing magical powers, but he didn't talk about it, show it or even perk in at the mention of it.

Maybe out of all the unresolved grief and loss, Petunia starts to realise her wrongs and consider that maybe, it is still time to mend things better :v.

their names are Briar and Evelyn (Evie for short) and they're both so silly and so disgustingly in love, think vincent and lovely but ten times worse

his name frequently gets mistaken for Brian and it makes him so irrationally angry lol

he's a born vampire! so no old man activities this boy is like 17 as of now

he's the one who knows how to cook! he makes food for others as a love language

also fun fact there's like an actual vampire cuisine in this universe so vampires can consume food that's not just blood and still get nutritional value out of it

his family are part of the older vampire generation technically? what i mean is his family have been vampires for a few centuries now so they're kinda rich and well known

that said, his parents are for sure around 80-100 but him and his sisters are young!

as i've said he's only around 17 and he's the youngest out of his siblings

he has 3 older sisters (20ish, 24 and 28) and they're all very protective of him because omg!!!! that's their baby brother!!!

sometimes too protective to the point where they underestimate him and make him feel bad,,, woops!
