Do you think there will be another CCS arc? The Clear Card ending seems to have left behind many loose ends and honestly it felt more like a setup to another arc. I am not talking about an immediate sequel but maybe a few years down the line. Perhaps after they have dealt with the new xxxHolic manga that is supposed to return?

My dear anon, I'd be a liar if I said I'm not hoping for another arc! Of course not immediately because as you said, we know there's Holic Rei's continuation in their plans (I don't think anything changed in that regard), and now Ohkawa needs to focus also on the scripts for the anime - considering how much she doesn't enjoy writing scripts on her own because how stressful it is, she really needs all her mental energy for that right now.

But a few years down the line? Why not. I know for a fact that they aren't categoric against a CCS continuation like they once were; in one of their Spaces some time ago they said (it's unclear if they were joking or not) that if they had to write for CCS again, they would like to portray a very fluffy kind of story for SyaoSaku 😂(I don't believe them one second, tooth-rotting fluff is not their thing 🤣 I think Ohkawa here was mostly talking out of exasperation for her own complex plot for Clear Card 😂).

There is something quite fascinating about the concept of living in a house that is also alive in it's own right (yes this is about Home from Welcome Home).

(I will use it/its pronouns for Home, as Wally does in one audio clip)

From the new update we now know that Home is not just alive, but is capable of full conversations and even plays games with the rest of the Neighbourhood (and no one says it is strange that this occurs, they do this a lot)! Barnaby has a conversation with Home, proving that it can speak to more than just Wally.

And that is fascinating, because it means that Home truly is the 9th neighbour of Welcome Home, just one that isn't ""alive"" enough to get it's own About page. It shares it with Wally. It shares a lot with Wally, and it is funny because it seems like Home may be more opinionated than Wally, they are not empty!

And not haunted, and have not grown, and have not evolved past their original purpose. Home seems more comfortable with the rest of the neighbourhood than Wally does, and it almost makes me wonder if Wally is supposed to be living in it.

The town of Welcome Home is also called Home, though the other houses aren't alive like Home is. I wonder if it is called that because it was Home's Home originally and it was named after it?

I'm unsure how to put it, but between Wally and Home Wally seems to have the personality you'd expect a house to have. While we do not know if Wally genuinely doesn't understand many concepts or whether he is acting as a stand in to ask the questions young children may have, it is still curious that he's had to be taught so much (though he is an eager learner! That is so fun!)

Like you would expect a house to not understand sleep, or be taught how to laugh, not know how to stand up if it falls, etc etc. Home also seems to be better at taking part in conversations than Wally, which is unusual for a House.

(Side note: I am only saying Home is better than Wally at continuing conversations in terms of, would you expect a house to know much about conversations? Personally I think Wally is quite charming in how he speaks, his voice is easy to understand and his words are articulate and clear. He might take time, but not always. He is just choosing his words, and that could mean he wants to make sure he says the right things to convey what he means.)

It is curious, that is all I wish to say! The theory that Home may be experiencing the world through Wally is an interesting one, one that I do not believe nor disbelieve, but the concept is interesting! Wally has no origin other than he lives in Home, so who knows if Home created Wally as a sort of external avatar for learning and experiencing? Or maybe Wally is just quirky haha

I might talk about it more later, but it is interesting that Wally shows less signs of struggling to put his words together when talking on the phone in the hidden phone recording audio. Like he is more at ease speaking to ""us"" rather than his neighbours. Very curious! So much to uncover!

I absolutely believe in the sans otherworld theory! Although there is one thing I haven’t seen anyone bring up at all, sans scientific background. In Deltarune we know sans is running a store, he could have other jobs that we don’t know about, but I doubt it. We know that sans reads physics books and has been working on a machine in secret right? Perhaps he got stuck in the world of undertale and he went to Alphys for help since she is a scientist and may know how to get him back. So he starts studying up on physics and analyzing the anomaly with Alphys, hence his line in the genocide route about “Our reports showed a massive anomaly in the time space continuum.” Papyrus claims that he is quite secretive with his love for science, if he was a scientist before don’t you think that would be more well known as well as him knowing Alphys? I’m super curious on your thoughts because you are THE sans person to go too.

good catch! as you've already mentioned, explaining it could go two ways, depending on WHEN he got his scientific background:

sans is already a scientist in deltarune and his and papyrus' moving to Hometown is no coincidence. this would play well with DR's crimson peak-ish theme of "small idyllic country town has Something Deeply Wrong With It hiding just beneath the surface", what with all the unexplained mysteries. the way dark worlds seem to exist only there, onionsan's song from the ocean, whatever the fuck's going on with the bunker and dess' disappearance. if he already studied space-time and its discrepancies back then, it would make sense that he'd move in to check things out from up close. on the other hand, this leans HEAVILY into sans favoritism as it would make him central to the story/hypothetical shadow crystals subplot. it really doesn't feel like it from what we've seen of his life in deltarune so far, and he's already had his chance to shine in undertale's lore. this is his tragic normie backstory. he's at maximum Some Guy-ness here

sans becomes a scientist post interdimensional yoink. this one, i feel, makes a lot more sense. the guy gets thrown into another dimension, has no idea what to do about it, so he reaches out to the most competent person around, which is the royal scientist. here's where our theories diverge, dear anon. when he first got to undertale's world, I don't think alphys was the royal scientist yet. i think gaster was still around! so he studied up, learned under him and in their researches stumbled into what he refers to as the anomaly. then The Accident happens and gaster gets retconned out of existence and he eventually gets into contact with alphys when SHE becomes royal scientist. or maybe she's the one who reaches out to him first! who knows
