Burrows End has been such a perfect example of everything I love about TTRPGs. In a world that is so scary and so horrible, the players turn around and reply with moments and choices that are gentle and tender and compassionate and also fucking hilarious. And, like the Junk Mother said : that arbitrary kindness means more than anything.
I love that I came in braced for loss and fear and helplessness and instead I'm crying on the floor over 'Hey, Girl, hey.' Dimension 20 is amazing at consistently casting some of the best improv players in the game.
Even the little Thorn/Viola interaction leading up to it, where they're having microtransactions of frustration and forgiveness reads as such a real couple thing to do. It's so good.
* . ♡ “ well - i wasn’t going to let you walk home in the dark... ” ellie giggled as she felt @theresastargirl pressed a kiss against her cheek, as she jumped on the bed next to the brunette. the pair of them had spent the evening just chilling. ellie had left over food from a recent event she catered - she couldn’t have eaten it all by herself, so she invited ophelia over to help her. “ plus it’s raining. ” lying down more in her bed, ellie turned on her side so that she could look at the redhead. “ hopefully you’re not a blanket hog ? ”
