it's about time i officially shared my design for Clip from my hairdresser au! here's the silly boi himself!

a.k.a. the most complicated character i've ever designed...

that's my boi, despite his crazy design, i love him. his silly top knot hat, the horn-like points around his faceplate, his speckled colours, his four arms, and his funky pants. he's just soooooo fun.

Clip likes to play games and knit! he even made the patchwork pants he wears (he made Sun and Moon a pair too, but they're too precious for them to wear... also a little gaudy to wear in public—doesn't stop Clip tho!). He actually makes everything the boys wear, since there's not a lot of things in their size/shape.

instead of resting at night, he can be found in their living room, playing Kirby 64 for the nth time and/or knitting something. he's just too restless to stay still, he's always gotta be doing something and if it isn't gaming, knitting, or hairdressing, then he's up to No GoodTM.

Clip... likes popping balloons. he says "Goodnight!" with each popped balloon and once he's done, he tosses up the scraps like confetti all while giggling joyfully.

needless to say, he is not fun at parties. Sun and Moon don't let him near balloons for this reason.

and yes, he has sewing needles on hand at all times. for fashion emergencies... and for unsuspecting balloons.

Clip's not allowed to have a phone (just imagine all the in-app purchases Sun and Moon would have to deal with), but he likes to keep up with his customers and their games, even if he doesn't get their fixation over bluenets he'll never openly admit it but he prefers curly-haired blond hunks that look sweet in soft pastels but could also squash him like the spider he is

also, he's great at microbraiding! though i imagine if Sun and Moon are free, they'd come help to shorten the wait but also to compete and see who braids the most (Clip always wins of course—make anything into a game, and he's winning)

aaaaand there's this! i wanted to make sure Clip would be able to freely rotate his waist so his arms could have their full range of motion, and this was the solution i came up with: a crop top on top and a wrap around his waist. and Clip here is being a sneaky little scamp about it.

okay the fire temple???? unlike the other temples, i do not feel like i solved most of the puzzles as intended, i was all over the place, the mincarts were confusing, i cheesed a couple ascends that i dont think i was supposed to do, i climbed a lot of walls 😭😭💀💀💀 it was so open it was easy to just get lost wherever and fall down and get mixed up

I finally had a good dream ab the crabs!!

There was or had been a female purple pincher in the tank (but she wasnt there) and she and Gurkle had two babies!! One was a pinkish tan crab, and the other was a very very pale tan. They had shells that matched closely to their colorings so I named them Peaches & Cream respectively. I think Peaches was a boy, but I know Cream was a girl and slightly smaller

Anyway Gurkle LOVED them 😭 he was teaching them to climb in the dream and he would climb something and then come down and watch the babies try and idk how but I just knew he loved them 😭 he would watch them with such intense focus and interest and when they would inevitably fall (as they were learning) he would run to them and use his feeler antennae to make sure they were okay 😭

They, like their dad, kept trying to break out of the tank and succeeded at least once bc I saw them climbing on the curtains in my room agdgdgd little shits

I remember thinking in my dream "damn I wonder why people say hermit crabs can't reproduce successfully in captivity bc these fuckers sure grew FAST" like they had went from teeny tiny larvae looking things to full blown 3/4in and 1/2in sized crabs FAST

Idk where Scupa was in the dream, but I remember being proud of Gurkle that he got to be the one to fertilize the clutch sgdgdgdg weird that there was only 2 though

Anyway Peaches and Cream were like best buds in the dream and always following each other around and playing together when they weren't following their dad sgdggdgd it was too cute

Something I've been thinking about recently is: Hell is specifically set up to make people worse and the exterminations are maybe a good 40% of that. I imagine there are people who go to Hell who are like not the worst but they either die during their first extermination or they adapt and to adapt to Hell is to embrace your worst qualities or be trampled.

Yes!! I think about this constantly. You get dropped into Hell with no resources, no support network, and then Heaven does their best to kill you off permanently every single year. It's! Hell! Weakness is exploitable. Safety is only guaranteed to the strong and rich and powerful. Unless you find a way to make money quick, your soul is the only currency you have to bargain with, and a soul is worth a lot, but most brand new Sinners are desperate enough for some stability that they'll sell their souls cheap and be Bound for eternity.

gonna delete this later bc i know it’s unproductive to screenshot / namedrop and i actually am thinking the best approach would just be to privately share this thought w the dev who posted this in a possibly futile attempt to effectively advocate for the change i want to see (#worktag2 lol). but im workshopping it here w my beloved mutuals first as i always do which is kinda shooting myself in the foot given that the devs can probably see that but whatever. my thought is like… i get it. i really do. i get that this place needs to stay afloat and some of that is gonna involve sacrifice or something from everyone involved. but… why would you try to snuff out the things that make this place what it is and just make it like all the other places. why would you not even take into account how the changes are going to impact EXISTING users who are loyal even if they don’t pay. people aren’t going to come to tumblr for more tiktok and instagram. they’re going to come here for tumblr. for the anonymity and the customization and whatever. so like i just don’t get it. why is the solution to this problem to experiment with changes **that existing users won’t like** and not to listen to what existing users want and do more of it bc other ppl likely will want that too.
