#why the puzzle piece is bad representation

Hi everyone,
So I was thinking about the puzzle piece and how it represented autism for a while.
To the neurotypical people out there: what is this supposed to mean? I know most are being positive (in the past), but what does it symbolize in their eyes? That if we try and work hard enough, that we’ll “fit” in with the rest of society? To change ourselves into something we aren’t?
I shouldn’t and wouldn’t change who I am and what I do just to makes others around me more comfortable. That’s a lot like what this you mean.
Please stop using the puzzle piece. To some of us, it sends a bad message that says we need to change our ways to fit in.
Use the infinity symbol instead. It represents everyone, and I think personally that it’s a message that says everyone is different in an infinitely number of ways. Not that we have to fit in with society

Mark loves his job.
Nothing made him happier than donning the red and blue one-piece suit with the arachnoid symbol on the center of the chest and pulling down the matching mask. He was pretty proud of his sewing skills. Hopefully the elderly owner of the downtown fabric store never puts the puzzle pieces together.
He was still fairly new to being Spider-Man – only being bitten at the beginning of last semester and using the summer to work out the kinks – this spring semester would show his improvement.
His school schedule was class schedule was calm with classes only on Tuesday and Thursday in the morning and evening with the rest online. With the perfect amount of time throughout busy days to sneak away to patrol the city. The rest of the weekdays were dedicated to working at the college radio station. It allowed Mark to work around his own schedule as he could pre-record segments and cue up pre-made playlists.
The morning of the first day of the new semester was looking like an average day, helping civilians with minimal tasks like crossing busy streets and saving pets in trees.
Swinging to university was his favorite form of transportation as it was convenient but at the same time fun as sailing through the air was incomparable to any other experience. Mark landed on the roof of the old bell tower as he quickly changed into a pair of clothes he stashed in a hidden backpack on the ceiling ledge. Nothing too exciting, just a maroon tee, brown cargo pants, and black converse. He made quick work to stash his suit inside his backpack and slung it over his shoulder.
He walked down the spiral staircase as he put on his headphones and checked his phone.

johnny dude r u coming to shoot some hoops?
jaehyun are we playing basketball or should I skip for football practice?
mark be there in 5
Mark raced across the university lawn, passing unassuming students that would never know his secret. The early morning hours provided more security for his secret as most people around him were either too busy rushing to their 8 AM lecture or too tired from pulling another all-nighter.
When he reached the basketball courts, Mark tucked his bag in between Jaehyun’s massive athletic bag and Johnny’s decked out in pins and patches. The duo was goofing off with a basketball as they made obnoxious moves before shooting for the hoop.
“Hey guys, sorry I’m late.”
Johnny pauses as he turns toward his best friend before tossing the ball. Mark effortlessly catches it due to his built-up reflexes from stopping local crimes.
“Yo guess who finally decided to show up.” Johnny remarks as Mark makes a 3 pointer.
Jaehyun and Johnny both share a look as the former greets Mark, “You’ve gotten really good at basketball in a short amount of time… like crazy good.”
“Yeah man. You used to not be able to even get the ball in while standing still, but now you’re even better than Mr. Team Captain over here.”
Mark shrugs as he dribbles the ball, “I’m not even close to Jaehyun’s level, dude. He’s the best player.”
“Okay then go to the other side of the court and make it in.”
Mark looks at Johnny as Jaehyun chugs some water but gives in as he walks to the end of the court.
Mark is pretty sure that his sharp reflexes only work for short distances or when he’s out being Spider-Man, so the dare shouldn’t tip his best friends off. Mark dribbles the ball a bit before throwing the ball in the direction of the hoop.
Luckily, the ball goes over the hoop and proving to Johnny and Jaehyun that he still sucks at basketball, but unluckily almost hits a passerby.
You.
“Airball!”
You turn to the source of the noise as you let out a surprised yell as you duck to avoid the rouge basketball, falling to the ground and letting out a string of curses. Mark rushes over after his Spidey senses went off, shooting a ball of webs to knock it off its course of hitting you.
“Are you okay?”
You look up to see a concerned Mark as he helps you up, “Dude, I am so sorry. That could have ended really badly. Did you get hurt? Do you need to go to the hospital?”
Johnny and Jaehyun follow Mark to check up on you as you stare at the 3 attractive men paying too much attention to you.
“I’m okay, really. I didn’t even get hit. Just was caught off guard.”
The trio are unconvinced as they inspect your arms and head. Mark is focused on checking for any injury – even a millimeter of a scratch – on your right arm as Jaehyun checks the range of motion on your left arm and Johnny is asking you how many fingers he’s holding up.
“I’m not hurt, but I’ll still get checked up the clinic.” You bargain to get the attractive strangers to stop dotting over you.
“I’ll walk you!” Mark volunteers as he grabs your backpack off the floor and waves bye to his friends. Johnny and Jaehyun refuse to leave until they exchange their number with you to check up but also to make it up to you later. You tell them that it’s not necessary, but the pair insist as Mark gets you to leave.
He quickly introduces himself and you do it in return. Walking to the clinic was peaceful as both you and Mark’s steps were in sync. The crisp spring air helped calm your nerves. You know that you weren’t hurt but it would be best to get a check-up by a nurse.
“I’m really sorry again.”
“Apology accepted.”
“Let’s just get you to the clinic.”
₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸。
After a quick check-up with a nurse, you are deemed “okay” with no external or internal injuries. Mark gives you back your backpack as you thank him and are returned with another long string of apologies.
“Here, let me – no us – make it up to you.” Mark opens his phone to create a group chat between the four of you.
            we’re sorry
mark if ur free this week we would like to buy u lunch
bc dinner sounds like a date
not that we wouldn’t date u
            u seem great !
            this is mark btw
johnny what mark is trying to say is that we don’t want to make you uncomfortable
but we also want to make it up to you so lunch this week - johnny
jaehyun it’s jaehyun i know a great café w vegan options
you you guys really don’t have to make it up to me
            i’m okay !! a nurse checked me
johnny thank god ur not hurt
“So, are you free this week?”
You look away from your phone at Mark staring at you. You quickly look away at the students walking past you. You feel nervous as Mark is cute and being near him is not helping your poor heart.
“Yeah, I can do Wednesday or this weekend.”
You have to work Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with your two in-person classes on the other days and your two fully online classes spread throughout the week. Luckily, working at the bookstore on campus was flexible and allowed you to complete homework whenever you had free time.
“I know this is an annoying question, but what’s your year and major?”
“I’m a sophomore majoring in Health Sciences.”
Mark’s eyes light up, “I’m a sophomore too! But I’m a Biomed major. We’re kinda in similar majors.”
“We might even have a class together.” You joke and let out a laugh, but your mouth shuts as Mark has his printed schedule in hands and extended in your direction.
Your joke turns out to be true as you both share the same evening class on Tuesday and Thursday. Which is a good thing because at least you know someone in that class. A friend possibly.
“Do you work?”
“I work at the radio, so if you ever tune into 27.1 FM you will hear playlists I put together.”
“Ugh, that sounds like such a fun job. I work at the bookstore. I mean, don’t get me wrong I like it there, but it’s never busy for my shifts.”
A notification on Mark’s phone makes him freeze up, but before you can ask what’s wrong he quickly bids you goodbye as he rushes off. You decide to head to work and hope that nothing else out of the ordinary happens today.

On the plus side, your shared class with Mark has been going well so far. During the first class the day after you met him, you got to the classroom early and saved him a seat.
You watch as people slowly trickle into class as you held out a small hope that Mark would want to sit next to you. The class was almost full with just a handful of seats left – two directly in front of the professor’s podium, one in the very back by the other door, and the one you’ve been saving. He arrives at the last minute, and you watch him scan the room, hopefully looking for you, but once your eyes meet and Mark grins, your heart started racing.
Squeezing between people already in their seats, he reaches the open seat as you move your backpack from the chair to under the table. The professor starts the first day lecture of going over the syllabus, but you tune them out as your attention was… elsewhere.
Mark sits next to you, typing on his laptop as the professor talks. His outfit is a simple green hoodie with tan cargo pants and beat up black converse, yet the outfit compliments him. His hair is fluffy and a little messy as he runs his hand through it in an attempt to fix it. You notice that he’s breathing hard like he ran to get to class. You reach into your backpack to grab your water bottle and place it next to his hand. Mark pauses from typing notes as you turn your head back to the professor.
“Thanks.” He mumbles as he drinks the water.
“Don’t worry, I have another water bottle in my car. You can just give it back to me next class.” You whisper back while pretending to be interested in the professor’s grading policy.
When the second class rolls around, you’re surprised to see Mark is the first person in class, sitting in the same spot with his backpack on the seat you were sitting in last time and your water bottle on the table.

Saturday is the only day you are all free for lunch. Jaehyun, who keeps telling you to call him Jae, promises that this lunch will be the best lunch of your life and how he knows a worker. He’s brought it up every time he saw you while you were working. Johnny was no help either as he kept asking you super specific questions you would have no idea how to answer.
Johnny leans on a display table full of notebooks while flipping through a psychology textbook, “What kind of wood is this table?”
You let out another deep sigh as you put on your customer service voice to answer yet another question from Johnny Suh. “Sorry, I don’t know.”
“Do you know someone who would?”
Johnny smirks as he puts on his sunglasses. You turn around to reshelve new chemistry textbooks when a tap on your shoulder has you seeing Jaehyun holding a cookbook open.
“Do you like” He turns the cookbook back to himself as he squints, “Maultaschen?”
“What do you know about Germany?”
Jaehyun closes the cookbook as he shoots you his best dimpled smile, “Nothing.”
“Guys, I’m trying to work.”
“Yeah, and we’re being customers.”
Johnny sasses you as he pushes the cart of textbooks away from you. “Don’t pretend that we don’t make your shifts better.”
You can’t argue that because it is true, but you’re also afraid that your boss might think you’re slacking and goofing around with friends on the clock.
“I do love it when you guys come see me while I’m working, but I don’t want my boss to think I’m slacking.”
Jaehyun leans on your shoulder as he looks around the empty bookstore. “Bro, you’re the best employee here by far, but if your boss thinks otherwise, we can give a good review.”
“You? Slacking?” Johnny lets out a laugh as puts some textbooks on the highest shelf. “Slacking is scared of you. And Spider-Man.”
“Here he goes.” Jaehyun rolls his eyes as Johnny scoffs.
“Spider-Man is the coolest superhero ever. I’m jealous of all the people that get to see him work in real time.”
“Spider-Man?”
Johnny’s jaw drops, “Yo… you don’t know Spider-Man? You know, the masked guy in blue and red and has a spider sign on his chest. Stops bank robbers and saves people in car crashes. The friendly neighborhood Spider-Man?”
“Oh… his name is Spider-Man?”
“Yeah. I don’t wanna brag, but” Johnny leans closer to you, “I basically coined the name. The story’s really cool and super long, so I’ll save it for lunch.”
The other brunette fixes his backpack straps, “I should head to basketball practice soon, but we’ll text you later with the details. See you tomorrow.”
The duo leaves you to finish your tasks, but with less work as they helped while talking to you. You can’t help fighting the smile on your face at the idea of having plans with friends.
Lunch! With friends! Friends that you made in university and not the same friends you had back home that you knew from elementary school.
Maybe things were looking up for you.

Spider-Man business had never been easier. Petty thefts had gone down. The city was running smoothly like normal, which was great for Mark as he could focus on schoolwork and improving his swinging skills.
Currently, the vigilante was patrolling the city on the lookout for any danger. Nothing was coming through the crime watch app connected to his watch. He has 10 more minutes until lunch with Johnny, Jaehyun, and You.
Once he reaches the café building’s rooftop, Mark drops down and enters through the stairwell door going directly into the janitor’s room to change. The doors are unlocked, which is not the safest but it’s convenient for Mark, he quickly changes into a white tee, light wash jeans, and the same black converse. The suit and mask are stuffed into his backpack as he goes back out to the roof to web down to the ground to enter through the café entrance like a normal person.
He's constantly on the lookout as he drops down near the trash bins. When he walks in, Mark is the first out of your group to arrive. He snags a booth in the corner as he checks his phone.
            we’re sorry
mark i got us a booth

Mark smiles at the selfie Jaehyun took with him and Johnny on either side of you. Jaehyun does a peace sign pose, Johnny is making a kissy face, and you’re just softly smiling. A smile that Mark Lee cannot look away from.
“What are you looking at?”
Mark gets spooked by you as Johnny and Jaehyun slide into the opposite side leaving you to sit next to him. He quickly locks his phone as his roommates give him teasing looks.
The server, Na Jaemin from fraternity Dream, hands out menus and readies his tablet. “Hi. Can I get you all started with any drinks?”
“2 vanilla iced coffees, 1 mango smoothie, and 1 ice matcha latte with coconut milk.” Johnny easily recites as Jaemin types it.
“I’ll be back with those as you look over the menu.”
As Jaemin walks away, you look surprised at Johnny, “How did you know my drink order?”
“You’ve sent a selfie with the same drink the past three days.”
You slump back against the cushion. “That’s embarrassing.”
“Not as embarrassing as Johnny thinking he named Spider-Man.”
Mark tenses at the mention of his other identity. He steals a glance in your direction to see if you noticed, but you’re too busy watching his friends start bickering.
“Bro! I totally did!”
“No, dude. You did not.”
Before the duo can start up another pointless fight, you remind Johnny of his story time.
“At least someone’s interested. As I was saying before, it was early October last year and I was walking to the subway when this massive car crash happened in front of me. I thought I was going to get killed, but then I was suddenly out of the way. Some dude in spandex had pulled me out of the way of one of the cars and then he started pulling people out of the wreck. He even jumped over a 10-ton truck. It was insane. After the fire department and ambulance came to help, the dude shot out a web and it came to me, “Spider-Man”, so I yelled that, and he turned around to give me a thumbs up before swinging away. So basically Spider-Man owes me for that copyright, but I’ll let it slide because he saved my life.”
Mark laughs at Johnny’s retelling of the story because of the way he tells people. The superhero was just glad that he had the spidey sense to save one of his best friends.
Jaemin comes back with the drinks and takes food orders.
“Spider-Man is cool. I’m a fan.”
Mark chokes on the first sip of his smoothie from your casual confession as Johnny high fives you.
“Why do you like the Spider Boy?” Jaehyun questions you. Mark sits up slightly straighter in his seat as he focuses all his attention on your answer.
“Do you remember that major subway incident where some asshole pushed that lady onto the tracks?”
The guys nod their heads.
“I was waiting for the train when it happened. I didn’t see the asshole that did it as I was on my phone, but then the frantic yelling of people started and some good samaritans trying to help the lady off the tracks. Then, all of the sudden, Spider-Man runs in and saves her. Thank god he did before the train arrived and he calmed her down while she told him about the person who did it. I just remember feeling so useless but wanting to do more.”
Mark looks over at you as you stir your drink with a spoon, his heart sinking as he remembers. It was the first time he became a hero. The first person he saved – Ms. Smith works at the corner flower shop that his mom loves.
“And I even… never mind.”
“No finish your sentence.”
“Johnny’s going to make fun of me.”
“I won’t let him.”
“Well, I kinda have a crush on him.” You immediately put your head between your arms on the table in an effort to hide away.
Mark freezes at your confession as Jaehyun lets out an “awe” and Johnny’s jaw drops.
“You like Spider-Man?”
“I know. How do you even like a person when you’ve never seen their face, but it’s his personality. In every story about him saving or helping others, he’s always described as the nicest person ever.”
Mark’s ears are turning red from the compliment. He would have asked for what else you thought about Spider-Man, but Jaemin came back with their orders.
“Yo Jaehyun, are you coming to DREAM’s party Friday?”
“I should be free next week if that invitation extends to my friends.”
“Any friend of Jaehyun’s is a friend of mine. Can you get the football team to bring kegs again? Haechan’s throwing the party this time and he won’t shut the fuck up about it.”
“I can get the guys together to do that. I’ll text him.”
“Thanks man. Enjoy your food, guys.”
₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸。
You and Mark meet up and walk to class together. He fills you in on all the bullshit Johnny and Jaehyun got into over the weekend. Something about making a short film where they switch bodies and tried to get Mark to film it.
Before you both can enter the building where your class is, the distant sound of sirens gets closer. You ignore it as you go to open the door, but Mark stops you.
“I, um, have a family emergency so I’ll miss class. Text me. Bye.” Mark weirdly stammers before giving you a quick hug.
You’re left standing in shock as he runs away.
Mark runs to the dumpster behind the university as he quickly changes into his suit. He stuffs his clothes in his backpack and webs it to a lamppost before heading into action. His spidey sense alerted him as soon as the sirens passed, and the app informed him of a fire in an apartment complex a street up.
Once he swings onto the scene, firefighters are battling the fire and evacuating the building. Mark propels himself to the top floor to check for any civilians.
You’re concerned about Mark as he left abruptly and isn’t responding to any of your texts.
you i hope your family emergency isn’t too serious
just let me know you’re ok!
we didn’t do too much in class, but i’ll send my notes
going to the library after class to print something for a class
You’ve never been to the library at 10 PM on a Tuesday night, but there’s a first time for everything. It was shitty that your printer in your dorm had to stop working last night. The first floor of the library was unsurprisingly packed with students as the university’s coffee shop was adjoined and open until 2 AM.
You got into the elevator as the printers were located on the fourth floor. The fourth floor was empty because most people preferred to keep electronic files electronic, but of course your morning class’ professor made the class print their papers to turn in.
Printing the paper was a quick task. There was certainly no line to wait in. You tuck the sacred 5-page paper into a folder to keep pristine and leave the library. You check your phone again for any word from Mark, but nothing. You go to call him, but then the elevator jerks to a stop as the light shuts off. You press the emergency call button and wait for an operator. You try calling Mark again, but your phone can’t get cell service and your battery’s dying.
Sinking to your knees, you hang your head between your hands as the ringing becomes background noise.
₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸。
Mark rushes back to university after the fire, swiftly changing back and shoving his suit into his bag. He checks his phone to see the texts from you and calls you. When your call goes immediately to voicemail, he knows something is wrong.
The hair on the back of his neck stands up and Mark books it to the library. The first floor is filled with chatter and students looking normal so he knows that only you must be in trouble. He goes to the elevators where there’s a student waiting for one.
“Are you waiting for the elevator?”
The girl looks up from texting, “Yup, the other one isn’t working again. Ugh so annoying.”
Fuck.
The other elevator returns and Mark steps in with the girl. She presses the next floor and goes back to her phone.
A million scenarios play out in Mark’s mind. Were you claustrophobic? How long have you been stuck in the elevator? Were you alone?
The silent ride was eating him alive as every second felt like an eternity.
When the doors open and Mark basically throws himself out of the elevator as the girl walks around him, judging. Mark’s senses aren’t going off on the second or third floor, he goes up again.
The second the elevator starts moving up to the fourth floor, his senses kick in. When the doors open, Mark calls out your name. When your muffled voice responds from the neighboring elevator he sighs in relief.
“Mark, can you help me?”
“Is help on the way?”
“No.” Mark starts freaking out. “The emergency button doesn’t work, and my phone died a little while ago, but it wouldn’t even help because my service wasn’t working.”
“Why didn’t you call 911?”
“I’m not dying or in serious trouble!”
“W-what? This is an emergency! Hold on let me get someone!”
Mark runs down the hallway and quick changes into Spider-Man. He shoves his backpack behind a printer in the back corner and runs back to you.
Mark clears his throat before speaking in a lower tone, “Hi!”
“Um hi?”
“I’m going to open the elevator doors, so please stand back!”
“Okay!”
Mark places his hands in the middle of both doors as he pushes the doors open by force. After getting them open he holds out a hand to you as you look at him, well Spider-Man, in shock.
“Spider-Man?”
“Are you okay?”
You feebly nod as you allow Mark to pull you towards him.
“Are you sure you’re fine? I can take you to a clinic.”
You shake your head as Mark leads you down the stairs to the first floor while calming you down, passing confused or excited students. When both of you reach the entrance, Mark tells a skeptical security guard about the broken elevator.
Mark is about to swing away to change when you grab his hand. “Did you see my friend? He has brown hair, brown eyes, wearing a yellow hoodie?”
“I sensed there was someone in trouble and he said he was finding a janitor.”
“Thanks, I’ll go find him. And, um, thank you again.”
Mark looks into your eyes full of gratitude and sends you a wave before swinging away. He makes sure to get far enough before u-turning to the back of the library to change. 5 minutes later, he’s running around to the entrance where you are still standing in shock.
Mark pulls you into a hug as you tell him how Spider-Man saved you.

Haechan’s party was tonight, and you had no idea what you were going to wear.
Jaehyun had surprised you at 8 in morning by waking you up, endlessly calling your phone until you told him the password to open the door. A code you were going to immediately change after he leaves.
“Jae, it’s too early for any bullshit.”
He moves his sunglasses from his face to push back his hair, looking dangerously sexy. You have to shield your eyes from his blinding attractiveness.
“I need some help getting the kegs from Jungwoo.”
“Ugh,” You draw out the word as you throw one of your extra pillows at him which he catches, “I don’t want to get up.”
“Okay.” Jaehyun says as he effortlessly picks you up from your bed. “Now you’re up.”
“Put me down, Jeong.”
“Woah, not the last name. Putting you down.”
He gently sets you on your feet from the princess carry he was holding you in.
“I don’t want to know where you’re storing all that muscle to be able to pick me up.”
He smirks, “Wanna see my 8 pack?”
“Absolutely not. Now stand outside in the lobby so I can change.”
You meet him in the lobby after quickly throwing on an oversized shirt and biker shorts. You check over your bag that you have everything you need for the day – your phone, lip balm, sunscreen, your wallet, hand sanitizer, blotting sheets, and your water bottle.
“Okay, I guess I’m ready to tackle the day with you.”
“Don’t worry, we’re not doing anything too crazy.”
“I have very little trust in you at 8:30 AM.”
He puts his free hand on his chest as he fakes getting hurt, “You wound me.”
You roll your eyes in response as you start walking out of your dorm building, Jaehyun following you from behind.
Jaehyun leads the way to the football field as you walk next to him. The walk isn’t too bad and soon enough you hear various guys yelling and spot footballs flying through the air.
“Hey Jungwoo!”
A shirtless, blonde guy jogs up to the you two and dabs Jaehyun up.
“Hey Captain! I thought you weren’t coming to practice until later?” Jungwoo smiles before turning to you, “Oh, and you are?”
You politely introduce yourself as Jungwoo stares into your soul. “It’s a shame I haven’t seen your pretty face around.”
His remark takes you aback as you turn in shock to Jaehyun.
“Right? Imagine my surprise when I saw her for the first time.”
You avoid eye contact, not sure how to respond. “Um… thanks. We’re here to pick up some kegs?”
“Oh right! Let me get Yangyang.”
Jungwoo calls out to another guy behind him, thankfully he is clothed because you don’t know if you could survive another attractive, shirtless guy. He runs up as he greets you.
“I have it in my car, so follow me. Jungwoo, tell coach I went to the nurse or something.”
“Okay!”
Jungwoo jogs off to get back to practice. You and Jaehyun follow Yangyang to his car so he can drop you off at the DREAM frat house. The drive is short since the fraternity and sorority houses are near campus and the sports facilities.
Outside of the DREAM fraternity house on the front lawn are a few guys running around with water guns. The three of you get out of the car, grabbing their attention. Yangyang and Jaehyun wave at them causing one of them to run inside. As the kegs are being unloaded from the trunk, who you presume Haechan is, walks out.
The pretty boy with purple hair waves at you as he takes a hit from his neon green vape. He walks over as he blows a fat cloud into the air and pockets the vape.
He nods his head at you and leans against Yangyang’s car. “Hey.”
“Hi?”
“Are you coming to the party tonight?”
“Yeah?”
“Cool.” He wets his lips as he looks you up and down, “Wear something hot, ‘kay?”
“Okay?”
He gets off Yangyang’s car as he winks at you.
“Thanks for the kegs. I’ll get the guys to bring them into the garage.”
Haechan taps his phone causing the garage door to open showing you the set of workout equipment on the side and a black Porsche parked inside. 2 guys with blonde and Oreo hair come out from the door inside and start moving the kegs.
“Hey Shotaro! Hey Renjun!”
Jaehyun calls out as the frat bros wave back at him.
“So, are you ready to go?” Yangyang stands next to you as you nod. He opens the passenger door for you to get inside. Jaehyun sits smack in the middle in the uncomfortable seat so he can talk to you.
“What next?”
“Our pretty girl might need a shopping trip.”
You felt like the “ugly” but actually stunning main girl whose only transformation is taking off their glasses or hair out from a ponytail and it’s the makeover montage scene in a 2000s romcom. Jaehyun and Yangyang were running around in the local mall piling on different types of clothes into your arms to try on.
Two hours passed by already and you were getting sweaty from trying on the various combinations of tops, skirts or jeans, and dresses. It was annoyingly sweet of Jaehyun and Yangyang, who you just met today, to go out of their way to help you find something to wear.
“Honestly, I could find something in my closet or a thrift store.”
“If we don’t find something in the next 30 minutes I know a good thrift store.” Yangyang throws a black minidress at you and you let it hit your face.
₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸。
As you walk down the street where Johnny parked while fixing the biker shorts under your dress.
Johnny opens the front door of the fraternity only for you to be greeted by the sight of a hundred or so people engaging in various acts of grinding, making out, drinking, or dancing to whatever playlist DJ Yangyang picked.
“Oh my god.” You walk in as Jaehyun and Johnny tail behind you, making sure to stare down anyone who looks at you in a mean or creepy way.
You smile and wave at Yangyang in the corner of the living room as he motions at your trio to come over. The three of you move through the crowd of people partying and try not to have any kind of alcohol accidentally spilling on your new outfit.
Yangyang removes the headphones from his head to his neck and talks in your ear, “You look hot!”
“Thank you! Can we get you anything?”
“Whatever has the least amount of alc by volume.”
“Got it.”
Johnny, Jaehyun, and You find the kitchen entrance behind Yangyang’s DIY DJ booth and open the various coolers filled with alcohol. Johnny helps you pick out Yangyang’s drink from the sea of canned beverages while Jaehyun gets drinks for you all.
As you walk back to give Yangyang his drink, Haechan is talking to him and spots you getting closer to them.
“Well, aren’t you a sight to behold.”
Haechan holds a handout as you take it, spinning you around him.
“That dress fits you perfectly.”
You shyly thank him as you did feel amazing in the red and black dress you bought at a thrift store after the three of you gave up at the mall earlier, but you hid the dress from them so you could pay for it. Jaehyun couldn’t stop staring at you and Johnny couldn’t stop complimenting you when they picked you up from your dorm. You felt that you needed to donate some of your old clothes to keep the good streak going.
The people around you start yelling and both of your heads turn in the direction of the kitchen when a loud crash is heard.
“Fuck. I bet someone tipped over a keg stand. Gotta go.”
He winks at you as he walks into the kitchen. You look around the room to see that J² are nowhere to be seen.
you hey!! where did you guys go??
johnny  we’re upstairs hanging with mark
johnny jeno and jaemin are coming down to get u
You stand by the end of the staircase as you scroll on your phone when someone taps the back of your shoulder. Turning around to see 2 more beautiful guys as they smile at you. The guy with black hair and an undercut introduces himself as Jeno and the guy with brown hair introduces himself as Jaemin.
J² sent 2J to get you. Funny.
They kindly escort you upstairs, down a hallway on the left, and to the room at the end. The door has a sign that says
“HAECHANNIE’S ROOM!
LADIES - FREE
GUYS - $20”
You knock on the door and walk in after Johnny says it’s open.
“Hey.” You greet Johnny, Jaehyun, and Mark who are sitting on the bed with various drinks and snacks surrounding them. Mark moves a reuseable bag full of chips so you can sit next to him as Jeno and Jaemin sit on beanbags.
“So, how’s the party going for y’all?” You ask the frat bros as you dig into a bag of your favorite chips.
Jeno and Jaemin jump into a story of how Renjun challenged Haechan and Shotaro to a keg stand contest where Shotaro won and Haechan complained the rest of the time setting up. Haechan also must carry out a dare later tonight, but Renjun is keeping it a secret.
During the story, you keep looking at Mark to see his expressions throughout the story time. You like him, you realized this after Spider-Man saved you in the elevator, the way Mark comforted you and stayed with you the entire night. Even sleeping on the pull-out bed attached to your bed that was a little too small for him. Mark was paying attention to the story, but right after 2J finished telling the story, he abruptly gets up and runs out the room.
“Is Mark okay?” You ask bewildered as the rest of the guys are nonchalant.
“Oh yeah, Mark does this a lot.” Jaemin tells you as he takes a sip of his beer.
“Really?”
Johnny nods, “Yeah ever since the start of last year Mark’s been really weird like weirder than usual.”
“And stronger for some reason.” Jaehyun adds. “We started working out together last semester. When he thought I wasn’t looking, he maxed out the bench press. I can’t do that and I’m active in sports.”
“So now we think he’s doing steroids.”
“Dude don’t say that.”
“Kidding,” Johnny says as he looks at you. “But there is something going on… like he’s keeping a secret from us.”
“Are you insinuating that Mark is Spider-Man?”
Johnny shrugs. “I didn’t say that, but I also did not not say that.”
“I think you’ve had to much to drink, dude.”
“I’m literally sober. I have to drive you and Jaehyun home tonight.”
As you’re handing Johnny a bottle of water, Shotaro opens the door.
“Johnny or Jaehyun, can you please talk Haechan out of jumping from the roof into the pool.”
The two oldest guys let out a sigh as they get up to stop Haechan from doing something stupid and getting hurt.
₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸。
Your little group stands outside on the pool deck as people crowd around the pool chanting at Haechan to “jump”. Johnny and Jaehyun are sticking their head out of someone’s room scolding a tipsy Haechan who is standing near the ledge. It’s only 7 feet between the roof and the pool, but the pool is another 6 feet to dive into and the entire situation just screams “danger” to you.
Haechan is getting dangerously close to the edge causing Johnny to step out onto the roof as Jaehyun holds one of his hands.
“Haechan, we’re bringing you inside.”
“No.” He puffs a cloud of vape into Johnny’s face.
“You’re being an asshole, get in.”
Haechan’s balance is off because as he steps back a bit, his right foot misses the ledge. You can’t watch. The crowd is yelling. You look away only to see a figure jump over the fence.
Spider-Man thwips a web to put an inflatable pool floatie a foot of the ground with another floatie under it to cushion Haechan’s fall. Thankfully, Haechan falls right on the floatie and is safe from breaking a bone or something worse on the concrete.
“Are you okay?” The masked hero asks Haechan as he helps him stand up and check his body.
An eerily similar situation that mirrors exactly what Mark did when you were almost hit by a basketball.
Rushing over to Haechan, you hug him as you’re actively scolding him.
“Never do that ever again! You could have broken your legs or spine or died!”
“Excuse me.” Spider-Man clears his throat as you turn your head to him. “Are you a friend of his?”
“Yes.”
“It would be best to check that he doesn’t have any injuries and keep him inside.”
“Johnny’s probably going to bubble wrap him now.”
“I have to go now but have a good night.”
Spider-Man waves you and everyone else at the party bye as the crowd cheers for him. He then swings out of DREAM’s backyard as Johnny, Jaehyun, Jeno, and Jaemin meet you outside. They all hug Haechan and scold him as well.
“You’re cut off.”
“Seriously?” Haechan whines.
“From everything. End of discussion.”
Most of the crowd disperses inside to tell or show their friends a video of Spider-Man saving Haechan. You’re putting the pool floaties back in the pool when you almost fall in.
“Hey–woah there!”
You look wide up at Mark, who appeared out of nowhere, holding your waist to stop you from accidentally falling in the pool.
“Mark! Thanks for saving me.”
“Anytime.”
You stand back up away from the pool ledge as you smile at Mark. You notice that he’s sweating a bit.
“Could we head inside? I, um, wanted to ask you something.”
He nods his head as the two of you walk inside and then upstairs where there aren’t that many people. You hear commotion in the hallway that leads to Haechan’s room. You’re both curious, so you walk down the hallway to see Jaehyun standing guard outside his room.
“What is happening?”
“Johnny is inside making sure Haechan can’t escape out his window. Well, if he can get out of the bubble wrap duct taped to his body.”
“Figures. Mark and I are going to talk in someone’s room.”
“Oh?” Jaehyun gives you a look.
“We’re not going to fuck in someone’s bed.”
“Sure it isn’t.”
Mark blushes as you grab his hand to walk away down the other hallway. You spot Shotaro standing outside his door.
“Hey Shotaro! Can we borrow your room to talk quickly?”
“Yeah! Just lock the door after and find me at the DJ booth when you’re done. I don’t want a repeat of the first day of summer party where someone threw up in my bed.”
“Of course, and don’t worry, we won’t fuck in your bed.”
You make Shotaro speechless and Mark blushes even harder. You open the door to Shotaro’s room and get inside. His room is cutely decorated with pictures of him alongside the rest of the fraternity and tiny little trinkets sprinkled throughout. The window is open and as you look out of it you can see that his room overlooks the grassy area beside the pool.
A thought comes into your head as you look at Mark who is sitting on Shotaro’s bed across from you.
“I’ve got a lot to say so please hear me out for its entirety.” He nods his head as you stand in front of him. “Mark, I have a crush on you. I thought you were cute the first time I saw you after that basketball almost took me out. I was so excited when we ended up sharing a class together and you sat next to me the next class after we met. Then when you comforted me after Spider-Man saved me. That was the moment I knew that I liked you. I like you, Mark. Maybe even more than that.”
He stares at you awestruck.
“It’s okay if you don’t like me back. Hope we can still be friends no matter what. I just want you to know.”
“I like you too. A lot. I liked you ever since I almost accidentally hit you with a basketball. I liked you when you were excited when you found out we shared a class. I liked you when you saved a seat for me and let me borrow your water bottle. I was so happy when you were safe from being trapped in an elevator. I really like you and, if you want to, I hope we can date.”
“I would love to date you, Mark, but now I’m going to do something that might ruin our relationship before it even starts?”
Mark looks adorably confused as you walk backwards to stand in front of the window.
“You know that I also have a crush on Spider-Man. And I’ve had this hunch since he saved me in the elevator. I didn’t realize it when it was happening due to the adrenaline, but then thinking back on it – when you left while we were walking to class that one time for a “family emergency” and Spider-Man had been spotted right helping firefighter put out a nearby fire. Then, I got stuck in the library elevator and Spider-Man miraculously came to save me. Sure, it could have been a coincidence since the fire was near the university, but I wasn’t in that dire of a situation. I could’ve waited for you to find me after I texted you. Then, just right now, you leave as we’re talking with 4J then when Haechan is in danger Spider-Man shows up in the nick of time to save him? In every situation I brought up, you were there then gone, Spider-Man shows up then leaves, and then you’re back? Never in the same room to witness the masked hero. Something’s not adding up.”
“Am I Spider-Man?” Mark asks while nervously laughing. “You mean you think I’m Spider-Man?”
“I’d bet my life on it.” You tell him seriously as you sit on the window ledge.
“That’s serious.”
“I am serious.”
You continue getting farther out of the window as you possibly can.
Mark slowly stands up, “What are you doing?”
“If I’m wrong… have 9-1-1 ready.”
You then lean back as you fall out of Shotaro’s window hearing Mark yell your name, you barely have your entire body out the window when you stop moving. Opening your eyes, bunches of white strings surround your head and shoulders – Mark slowly brings you back inside Shotaro’s room.
The silence between the two of you is deafening until you open your mouth.
“I fucking knew it.”
Marks hugs you tightly. “Please… never do that again. You scared me.”
“Do you still like me?”
“D-Do I still like you? Yes, I still like you very much.”
“I scared you that bad, huh?”
“What if I wasn’t Spider-Man? Then what? You fall and die?”
“I wouldn’t have done it unless I was sure. Would a kiss make you feel better?”
“A kiss away from the window and maybe on solid ground would.”

So, I recently saw Dragons Rising S2 part 2, and an interesting thought occurred to me.
Spoilers underneath the cut
Early series Arin sorta acts as a representation of the fandom. He grew up with stories of the ninja, and absolutely adores them. He knows basically every publicly known fact about them, and is eager to infodump those facts to anyone who will listen.
So with that context, it makes the arc Arin goes through in the second part of S2 where he becomes disillusioned with the ninja and loses faith and trust in them utterly fascinating.
It is no secret that much of the fandom has themselves become disillusioned with Ninjago in recent years. You see that online all the time. Hell, I've met people like that in real life twice this year.
As someone who has been active in the online fandom for at least five years (and a fan of the show for longer), the way that Arin regards Wu is all too familiar.
Now, I love Wu. I am not shy about it, and will continue to say it til the end of time. But I don't love him because I think he is a perfect, flawless person who has done no wrong. No, I love him because he is complicated and nuanced. He clearly loves the ninja - that is clear as day to me - but he also has a fatal flaw with his secret keeping.
I can 100% believe he fucked up somehow, and that resulted in the Merge. Whether that be as simple as him just not telling the ninja about the coalescence and thus failing to prepare them for it, or even something he actively did that resulted in the Merge. It's not like he hasn't done similar things in the past, after all.
I do not buy for a second that there was any malicious intent behind it.
I cannot see a world where Wu would intentionally, knowingly endanger his students or even the world at large. We don't know the full story yet. There are pieces of the puzzle still missing, I'm sure.
But Arin, much like the fandom, cannot see the nuance in Wu's actions. Arin once believed Wu to be this infallible ideal of a wise old mentor figure. And the second that illusion broke, that Arin learned Wu was in some way responsible for causing the Merge, Wu immediately became the bad guy.
Arin cannot understand why the others struggle to accept that Wu is some terrible person because Arin didn't know Wu like the ninja do. The ninja knew Wu for years, they've seen his strengths and his flaws firsthand. They know him too well to immediately assume the worst of him, because they know how hard he's worked to protect Ninjago from the worst threats it has ever faced.
I could probably go on, but I think this post is long enough.

Since it's Autism Awareness Month, here's
Why the puzzle piece is offensive to the Autistic Community
[Large text: Why the puzzle piece is offensive to the Autistic Community]
Unfortunately, the most commonly used symbols to represent autism are all puzzle related, like the ones bellow.
Tumblr media
These symbols and similar ones are typically used by Autism Organizations that are run by allistic people rather than autistic, Autism Speaks being the best-known example across the internet, but not the only one.
I'm not going to go deep into how bad Autism Speaks is, but just to leave you with the tip of the iceberg, know they used to put out ads that demonized autistic people (and even one in which one of the organization's leaders spoke about wanting to drive herself and her autistic daughter off a bridge).
Autism Speaks, and many others, attempt to "teach" people about autism, without hearing what actually autistic people have to say, and that's their biggest (but not at all only) problem.
Now, stay with me as we dive into history...
The puzzle piece was first used as a symbol for autism in 1963, by UK's National Autism Society, later on being adopted by Autism Speaks, which made it more popular.
Back then, autism awareness campaigns were viewed as being similar to, for example, cancer awareness ones, because autism was seen as an illness, a disease (which it is not).
As I've made clear before, the puzzle piece is heavily associated with organizations that spread misinformation about autism, making it, of course, already a bad symbol to represent us, but there's something I personally feel bothers us a lot more, and that is the symbolism of the puzzle piece.
The puzzle piece represents an idea of "mystery" and — you guessed it — being "puzzled".
And us, autists, don't really appreciate being called confusing.
Not only that, these words were often used to describe autism offensively in the past (and still are). And, on top of that, most times, when you find a puzzle supposed to represent autism, it is incomplete.
Isn't the message clear enough?
We're people, not puzzles that have to be worked out. We're not incomplete and we're not "puzzled".
So
Which symbols can you use for autism awareness?
[Large text: Which symbols can you use for autism awareness?]
The infinity rainbow symbol is common for all neurodivergent people, while the golden infinity is specific for ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder, in case you didn't know the acronym).
Tumblr media
The infinity symbol represents the complexity and vastness of neurodivergence and autism.
Autism is less about "severity" and more about different struggles in different topics and areas (though not a lot of people seem to understand that, unfortunately). After all, autism is a spectrum, not a scale.
And if you're interested in why golden is the color of choice for us, that'd be because the periodic symbol for gold is Au, which I think is very clever, haha.
Some people also like to use red or plain yellow, I don't know a lot about that, but I'd recommend you research it.
And since we're on the topic of color, just a warning: in the Autistic Community we kind of avoid using blue to represent us, especially because it is heavily associated with Autism Speaks' "Light It Up Blue" movement.
Blue is seen as a representation of feelings like sadness, as well as being commonly associated with boys (this is important because women and other AFAB are often misdiagnosed and underdiagnosed because many people still think autism is only found in boys, and because many traits are viewed as "normal behavior" in AFAB people).
This isn't to say you can't use blue in the title of your PowerPoint presentation about ASD, it's just a thing we try to avoid.
Well, that should be all.
I decided to make this post because I've seen many people post about which symbols to use for Autism Awareness Month, but no one explaining why.
Thought this could help some poor lost soul understand it, lol
Happy Autism Awareness Month, my beloved Yippies, and a thank you to everyone who stopped to read <3 (heart).
Now I'm gonna go clean my search history and my gallery, just reading "Autism Speaks" gives me the ick.

For autism awareness day this year a few months back, I had wrote a piece on G3 Twyla, autism representation as a whole, representation specifically for autistic women and girls, and my personal experience with autistic girlhood as a formally undiagnosed autistic girl. I never posted it here, so here is that piece now! Please remember that this is just my personal experience with autism focused media and it may not be relatable to everyone and that’s ok!

“She’s just like me”
🕸️
When Monster High came out, I was not yet diagnosed as autistic. I knew I was different and I was struggling to fit into a world that just wasn’t made for me, but I didn’t have a word to apply to those differences. It was like I was on the set of a film and everyone knew the script except me. I would try so hard to pretend I knew, but at the end of the day I didn’t and I would fall flat on my face with my attempts to improvise. It was exhausting. Monster High was my outlet. These little dolls in all their pink, gothy glory were something special, something I could escape with when the world was so incredibly confusing and neurotypical. The whole message behind the line was to be yourself after all and it stuck out so boldly to younger me, even if I wasn’t as aware of it as I am now. My dolls went everywhere with me, the store, my grandparents. Anywhere I went, they went. Looking back, my need to have them around me at all times was very much my autism making itself loud and clear. They made dealing with trying to be neurotypical when I wasn’t easier. 14 years later, my dolls still bring me that comfort they brought me back then. Coming home and being able to pick them up and interact with them after socializing and things I struggle with is a form of therapy to me.
Eventually I would be diagnosed with autism and lots of things made sense that didn’t before. My inability to be exactly like my neurotypical peers no matter how hard I tried suddenly made sense, as if a missing piece to a puzzle had suddenly been found and now it was complete. My autism diagnosis didn’t make me neurotypical. It didn’t suddenly flip a switch and make it easier to socialize, but it did give more insight into why I felt the way I did, why I acted the way I did.
The thing about having a diagnosis though, at least for me, is I wanted to seek out media that portrays people like me. Because having characters that look like you or act like you is nice and makes relating to the media you engage with easier, so of course I wanted to find characters I could relate to with my diagnosis, characters who acted like me because of it. I realized very quickly that that wouldn’t be the case. The amount of autistic characters that explicitly stated they were autistic was slim and when they were, they were often male or portrayed very stereotypically. Relating to people in the real world was hard enough, so to realize that a lot of the behaviors I had were written off as comic relief or boiled down to a cheap stereotype was salt in that wound. Characters that were relatable and well written often times just got the label of being eccentric and although I could relate to them because of the autistic coding, there still wasn’t that added layer of actually being autistic and I was left wondering if it was intentional by the writers or not. Not to mention, a lot of the times those very relatable characters happened to be men. Finding women on TV who I found relatable was an added layer to an already mile high struggle. Sure not all of it was bad, but enough of it was. Monster High was no different in that regard. They had characters I could relate to and a message that made me feel less abnormal, but at the end of the day, there wasn’t a character I could point at and go “hey, they’re autistic too!”
Flash forward to 2023 and Monster High has finally come back into the spotlight with an all new reboot and line of dolls. I’m still as obsessed with it as ever, but I’m an adult and have been diagnosed as autistic for many years now. Unlike the first reboot it had gone through, it’s well received and there’s a brand new show to accompany the characters who are very different from the original characters that they were based on. I was unsure of it when G3 was first announced, after all change is very hard for me, but by the first year of the reboot being in full swing, I’m invested and so happy to see this franchise that I love back on the shelves. Already I could find characters I related to, but again not one of them had the label of autistic, until they finally did. In January of 2023, it would be announced that Twyla would be Monster Highs first canonically autistic character. I cried so hard when I found out. A franchise which had helped younger me feel less out of place when I wasn’t diagnosed was introducing a character who was just like me. Not to mention she was also voiced by an autistic woman! It was so exciting, but it was nerve wracking too. Would she be a stereotype? Would they call her autistic and never touch on it again so she could appear neurotypical? I hoped and had faith she wouldn’t be, but after years of bad representation being some of the only representation you get, it’s hard to not worry that they would drop the ball with her. That same month though her music video would come out and it would very much change my view. She was shown flapping her hands, being sensitive to noise, and the lyrics highlighted things that were so clearly meant to represent her as autistic. She would make her first appearance in the show soon after and she would use the words “I am autistic” and explain what it was, but never once was it framed as a bad thing or a joke. I was just as emotional then as I was when they first announced her, because for once in my life I was seeing a character who was so much like me and it wasn’t being painted as a bad thing or used as the butt of a joke. I was seeing a character who I could relate to because they were autistic, not because they were some quirky character who might be autistic, but stating they are would just be too weird or annoying. I was filled with joy and my inner child was screaming with it alongside me. Now a year later they’ve expanded on Twyla more and her being autistic was definitely not a one off thing, she has even had a doll with noise canceling earplugs and her autism is a major part of her character. Even with that though, she isn’t just reduced to her autism. She has depth, she has interests.
I see people often times dismiss the representation in G3 as pandering or pointless, but Monster High has always been about inclusion and although it was by no means perfect or the best representation every time, at the end of the day the message of being yourself and accepting everyone for who they are has always been there. It’s easy to dismiss a character like Twyla as pointless and unnecessary, especially if you’ve always felt represented yourself. To always see character who is like you, who you can relate to is a privilege and isn’t something that is a reality for everyone. Somewhere out there though is a kid who is just like me, who struggles with eye contact and loud noises, who flaps their hands, who feels confused and unsure of how to navigate a world that just hasn’t adapted to accommodate people like them. Somewhere out there is a kid who hasn’t found a character that’s like them, who might find Twyla and finally have a character that they can relate to and that is so incredibly important. The ability to relate to characters that are like you and the ability to see characters that aren’t like you is so important. Representation is so important.
Twyla isn’t perfect autism representation and she doesn’t represent every autistic person, but she is good representation. Autism is a spectrum and it would be impossible to encompass the autistic experience into one character, but she is a start and hopefully there’s a point in time where there is a character like Twyla for all autistic people to relate to.
So to every autistic woman, girl, boy, man, and person, happy autism awareness and acceptance month! The world may seem so hard to navigate at times, it may seem unfair and it may not be built for people like us, but one day it will be. Keep advocating, keep stimming, and keep making everyone know that we are here and deserve to be seen and heard.
And to my dolls, who have always been so much more than just dolls to me.

Lets keep this thing rolling and onto:
1x04 ‘the switch’
This ep is SEVERELY lacking in gifs so this will be sparse. Especially since there wasn't any Chenford not a ton of gifs available LOL Also its lacking in Chenford content so this will not be as robust as previous reviews but tis part of the season. So lets get started.
The engagement beginning is sweet but hilarious. 'In 2-5 years- haha When Talia takes the ring cracks me up. Funny thought its been 5 years they’re probably married now that I think about it LMAO
So watching Nolan/Lucy scenes like watching paint dry. It pains me to watch it.
Tumblr media
What does give me joy is every time Nolan brings up commitment how uncomfortable it makes her. It's a good view into her as character. As we see later in the ep where she reveals she's never been serious about anything till being a Cop and Nolan.
It is fun to watch the TO swap. Tim saying he’s going to break Jackson’s spirit made me laugh. Not cause I wanted him to break Jackson. Because honestly I think without Angela as his T.O. Jackson would’ve broken under Tim’s tutelage. Where as Lucy thrives off it and it makes her a better cop. This is a great representation of each rookie being with the right T.O.
I do hate how all over Lucy Talia is. She knows dating Nolan is a no no. But damn it’s not who she is as a person. Or as a cop. Shouldn’t be the only thing that defines her. Wracking her with guilty and such. I loved her reply to Talia though . ‘There are no other rookies like me’ damn right my girl. Tim sees that and knows what he has in her. She’s not wrong she needs to not date him but hot damn back off a bit. Their scenes were too muddled with that. I know it was a set up to the ending scene for her and John but didn't need to dominate their entire time together IMO.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She understands his tactics and honestly it’s why they work so well. Yeah he’s rough af but it’s always with a purpose. I love that she already knows this about him early on. Once again proving the original pairings for T.O’.s were the right choice. She’s so right he totally takes it as a challenge for him to fix Jackson. One of the many reasons their work relationship is so damn solid. There's an understanding there and its why their work flow is so cohesive.
I do love Tim’s eventual approach to fixing Jackson. Shows his softer side not only as a cop but a T.O. lovely to watch. His whole thing with Wallace just gives us another layer of depth. Another piece of my fav puzzle that is Tim Bradford ❤️ I love this man. Truly.
We get to the end of the ep. The scene where they finally break it off, sucks to watch for Lucy. Never fun to watch Lucy get hurt. That’s my girl. The way Nolan breaks it off with her sucks. Like she said she struggled for weeks and he just ripped off the bandaid. I’m happy it’s over my least fav part of a rewatch. Always so awkward to watch them.
I do love her empowered comeback telling him she joined on a whim but didn’t realize how much she would love it. She was going to take Talia's advice, give this everything she has. The very start of bad ass Lucy Chen has begun. Don’t need no damn Nolan LOL
Not a morsel of Chenford in this ep but it had some good stuff in it none the less. Thank you all once again for the likes/comments I’ve gotten since I started this. They make me so very happy. Please feel free to comment and or like. Hoping to have ep 5 review up later this week. till next time 😊

I hope this isn’t a bad thing to ask, but I was just wondering where I should start with considering if I even believe in the gods? I’ve basically always thought I was an atheist, but I actually think I’m feeling a pull (not sure if that’s the right word) towards Athena. More as a force than as a person/ deity, but I’ve found myself subconsciously asking her for guidance. So I’m in this strange position where I don’t feel like I believe in any gods, but keep asking her for help. I really hope this doesn’t sound disrespectful
Hello, love!
Firstly, I just want to reassure you that nothing about this is disrespectful and bad to ask. I think the spiritual in all its forms and aspects is complicated, complex, and should be questioned, debated and analyzed from multiple perspectives. So I personally welcome and encourage questions like yours!
My personal belief about divinity is that its essentially all about energy. The gods are divine energy that either we have personified and named or the gods themselves influenced how we view them and define them. Or it could also be a mixture of both, but ultimately it doesn't really matter because here we are!
Why this is relevant to your situation is because viewing Athena as a personification of specific energy might be helpful to you. There are a lot of people who use the images of the gods to represent ideas, aspects, concepts, emotions, and of course energy. Doing so gives our brains something visual and material to focus in on which makes tapping into that energy a lot easier.
This may make it easier to begin trying to "work with" Athena and her energy without "belief" having to come into play. Because ultimately I think the best way to figure out whether you believe in the gods or not is to begin interacting with them. It doesn't really matter how. Like I said you can view Athena as energy or a representation of energy. Start where you are now and you'll figure it out as you go through the motions.
And as a side note, I also thought I didn't believe in the gods but out of nowhere half jokingly (tho not really) i began asking for their help in certain situations. I kept doing it because something about it felt right and comforting. Puzzle pieces long scattered and missing were snapping into place and I followed the path they created which lead me home to the gods.
Of course that may not be your path but I share this with you to show that exploring those inklings, those curiosities, those feelings are totally worth it. I think you're bound to find something truly significant.
I wish you all the best, hon! And don't hesitate to pop back in if you have anymore questions or even to give an update! <3

Ranger Gathering 2023
Day 2: Mystery
This Prompt Fic uses an OC I made a long time ago, before I knew about Royal Ranger. If you don’t like reading OC content then this ain’t for you.
The OC in question is named Leanna Harris, Lea for short. Yes she is a female ranger, I made her when I was a teenager and before I discovered DnD to sate my representation needs. If you want a description of Lea or any additional information about her it will be below the cut after the prompt.
“I cannot believe that Gilan dropped this on me.” Lea sat down across from Will, a sheaf of empty paper in her hands.
“Can you really not?” Will laid out a folder between them. “This seems exactly like something he would do.”
“He knows how bad I am at coming up with scenarios.” Lea picked up the folder and Will smiled at her. Gilan had been tasked with creating a variety of scenarios for the first year apprentices to work through. Combat, tactical, puzzle solving and the bane of her existence, a mission with a lot of unknown factors that the apprentices need to unravel to solve a mystery. Gilan, himself, had had a few months' notice to create these activities for the first years. His excuse was that he had gotten wrapped up with his own case, and had forgotten. So he had done the most reasonable thing and tasked his former apprentice with it while he was overseeing some of the fifth year's final evaluations.
“Well,” Will picked up a pencil and grabbed one of the sheets of paper Lea has set down, “Then it’s a good thing I don’t have any more evaluations to do today.”
“I don’t know what I would do without you.“ Lea sighed with relief, grabbing her own pencil. “I can never come up with anything challenging enough.” Will was tapping his pencil on his leg as looked over some of the papers he had spread out between them.
“At least he didn’t leave us with nothing. He started with a few of these.” He reached down and picked up one of the papers. “This seems like a good one to start working off of.”
“Please tell me it’s not a mystery prompt.” Lea closed her eyes and leaned her head back.
“It’s a mystery prompt,” Will confirmed, making her groan. “Oh it’s not that bad. He wrote down the solution, so all we need to do is work out how to get there.” Lea leaned forward and Will held the paper between them so she could read it.
“The only mystery I want to work out is how I ended up in this situation.” Lea read the paper out load, “The tavern keeper was harboring the smugglers, despite imploring the Ranger’s to help catch them.”  She drew her lips to a line. “So the issue is initially apprehending the smugglers, and if they can manage that, see if they can pick on the fact that the tavern keeper was in on it.”
“Dropping hints should be easy enough.” Will was already scrawling on his paper, “Some bad tips from the tavern keeper, an obvious red herring, what we really need to figure out is what the tavern keeper is benefiting from harboring them.”
“Well that’s easy,” Lea had pulled a palm sized stone from her pocket. She turned the polished blue river rock over in her hand as she spoke, “The goods they're smuggling in make him a profit. But why would he be the one asking for help catching them?” Will thought about that for a moment.
“Maybe they shorted him on what he was owed?” Will had stopped writing, and was tapping his pencil against his chin.
“Then why not give them up outright? Why lead them in circles?”
“To keep the blame off of himself.” Will pointed the pencil at her, “If he gave the smugglers up outright it would raise the questions of how he knew what he knew.” Lea nodded, putting the pieces together in her head.
“And not having the most reliable information explains why he would need help catching these smugglers. It gives the impression that the tavern keeper is just misinformed, not intentionally concealing information to keep himself unaccountable.” Lea pointed to punctuate the statement and Will started writing again. “That could work! It’s not too subversive of a narrative, but it’s just challenging enough to make sure they retain all the information they're given.”
“Just enough context clues to keep them wondering what they aren’t seeing.” Will agreed, “Definitely a good challenge for these first years. Plenty of benchmarks to assess their problem solving skills.”
“I definitely owe you one.” Lea took the finished worksheet from Will and looked it over. Will waved her comment aside.
“I love making these things. It feels like our own little assessment.” He commented and Lea laughed a bit.
“I guess it kind of does,” She noted, placing the paper aside, “I never really thought about it like that. I usually consider grading the assessments that way. Like a test of its own.”
“Though I think a true test of our skill is unraveling the mystery of what exactly Gilan was so busy with, that he couldn’t do this.” Will nodded, and grabbed another prompt sheet.
“If we can figure that out, we would be eligible for our gold oak leaves.”
Leanna Harris
Average height by Ranger standards/ Brown hair usually tied up in a bun or some kind of tail/ Blue eyes
Leanna is around the same age as Will and Horace. Originally from Meric Fief, her first mentor died of a sudden illness in the first year of her apprenticeship. Having no mentor, she was bounced between Gilan and Halt. She and Will got along well and were a good team so usually she would stay in Redmont with Will and Halt. Though when Gilan went on missions, she went with him to get experience. She was on just such a mission with Gilan when Will was kidnapped by Scandians and went with Halt and Horace to rescue him. When she graduated and became a full Ranger she was stationed in her home Fief, Meric.
During her apprenticeship she became especially close with a fellow apprentice, Ansalon Prier. He was apprenticed to his father, a ranger of one of the southern fiefs. Will and Gilan have an active betting pool over who will confess first (Crowley and Halt do as well, but it's a secret). Lea insists that a relationship with another Ranger is unprofessional and Ansalon denies any feelings all together.
Lea has all the skills any typical Ranger has. She trained with Will to perfect a jongleur persona and is a wonderful dancer. She also has a knack for estimating times and has a better than average internal clock.

SO I FINISHED THE SECOND SEASON OF STAR TREK PICARD YESTERDAY AND I ACTUALLY REALLY ENJOYED IT
(gonna ramble abt it under the cut)
FIRST AND FOREMOST: ELNOR!!! HE CAME BACK!!! I don't even care if some people think it's bad writing or not because I'm just happy he's alive again <3
Putting the pieces of the puzzle together was really really fun for me. The way everything had to happen because the catalyst was a direct consequence of the changes they made in the 21st century was sooooo fun oughhhh I love time travel I really really do.
There were a few continuity errors in the season that peeved me a bit, but I was able to look past them.
The Dr Jurati/Borg Queen entity is really really cool to me because it was already established that something was different about the Borg Queen from the first episode season 2, and then we got to actually see how and why that Borg Queen was like that.
Q—I will not pretend to ever understand his reasons for doing anything, but he did really fascinate me as a character.
All of Picard's backstory?? I think they did that in a really really cool way—from the start, the flashes almost seem like something out of a horror movie. Then we get the fantastical retelling. And slowly, over the course of the season, we see what really happens. It was a good way to show how children (and people in general tbh) cope and reason with traumatic events and how the brain forgets information to protect, and I think the psychology behind it is all super interesting.
Seven and Raffi? I really appreciate how messy they are. I love how both Raffi and Seven had things they had to work through with themselves and their own fears, and even though it may not have been always easy, they still wanted to try. I just think it's really important that Queer representation also includes messy relationships and isn't always something clean and palatable.
Idk anything about how the wider community feels about this series, but I, for one, have been having a blast.

Hey guys, you should read Grey Is...
Spoilers for volume 10 (and previous)
A while back, I found this post about "to be loved is to be seen" with a quote by Marguerite Duras: "I don't know if love is a feeling, sometimes I think it's a matter of seeing." And this line captured me, but I wasn't sure why. There's much to say about eye content breeding intimacy, but that's not it. It's not about mutual looking, only looking. As if something only exists when you look at it, and it can so easily be gone once you look away. While love, if you can call it a singular emotion, doesn't need seeing to be felt, it demands it to be understood. It wants to shift your entire focus, if to analyze it or to involve your senses in it. So maybe "seeing" isn't entirely literal, but a matter of focus.
In Grey Is... the lighthouse is a major theme, in both text and subtext. It symbolizes many things, from loneliness to guidance to security, but I'd like to look at it as a representation of focus. Fittingly, I used to compare focus to a flashlight, where one thing is seen clearly but everything else is shaded and almost non existent. Shifting the flashlight itself is possible, but then you have to trust that you'll remember where the object was among the darkness. The lighthouse represents this thought similarly, with a lot more nuance in story.
To White, Black needs to be in his light or else he'd lose him. If White won't pay attention, if he'll lose Black in the darkness, he doesn't know if he'll be able to find him again. This is one of the points Danial analyses- watching over Black gives White purpose. But this isn't entirely true, because it's not a sense of purpose, "Black makes me feel like I exist." as he said to Lana. If love is a matter of seeing, what is existence? What are we beyond how others see us? Is being perceived not what makes and builds us? And if it is, what are the unloved? Unseen? Non existent.
To Black, with his memories obscured and unorganized, this focus is nearly impossible, and so he uses White's light to guide him. The truth is that he doesn't know how brightly he shines. If White assumes that any darkness from him would dim the whole world, Black assumes he can never be a light at all. But he's looking now. White spent chapters trying to fight his need for perfection so that things can go wrong and fix themselves. He's letting the lighthouse spotlight turn, exist in motion, and let Black sail to him on his own.
Taking a small step back from metaphors, this chapter is all about looking and love. Black's on a quest to find missing puzzle pieces of his memories and for the first time allows himself to take off the mask. A mask that protected his loved ones but obscured his view. He looks at Irina, who was there for him more than he thought. He looks at Waseem, not as a sweet kid that can do no wrong, but as someone who's aware of things around him, good and bad. He looks at Ritta and their family, the people he wanted to protect by pushing away and keeping in the dark but who want to be there for him and could only do so through White. He looks at Jad (and recognizes that he can't look back) and sees a reflection of his childhood through the eyes of someone who watched over him. Now he's looking at White, and sees him look away. He knew this already, that White looks away when things get to close, but now he refuses, he won't let him. A half moon in the sky, the way Black shines and the way White dims is so moon-like (Chapter 13: Page 34) and they're shattering this fragile happiness in favour of a solid ground.
There's much more that can be said here, honestly - Jad's blindness, the car lights, even about just this and going panel by panel to dissect it - but it's pretty late and I don't know how readable it is at this point lol

see i remember how miserable i was when we were broken up and how happy i am now that were back together and the relationship is even stronger than before because we talked through stuff and focus on being vulnerable and honest so there wont be a repeat of that... and i remember how lonely and jealous of my friends in relationships i was but now that i have my partner again im like. 100%. well. daily life still sucks.. work and school and living with my family. but he gives me so much hope for the future. and the times like this when i get a few days off work and i stay with him and its as close a representation to how our future together will be as possible... these are the times i feel.... happy. just. happy in life. at home i have times where im happy in the moment but never Happy In Life yknow? when im with my partner even when i cry im still happy. i cried on him last night (unrelated to him) and was just so happy he was there and comforting me. but im just like. this is 100%. this is what life is supposed to be like i think. THIS is the feeling of contentedness and At Peace that people not being tortured by mental illness probably experience. the worlds colors arent so dull. my soul is warm and held. im able to feel genuinely happy for my friends in relationships without any jealousy again. just pure happiness that they also get to have this. because everyone deserves it
sometimes i feel bad because it makes me think maybe my heart didnt think having my friends was enough. i got LEAGUES better mentally going from complete isolation to having my friends in my life. and ill be grateful for that until i die. i love my friends with all my heart! theyve stuck with me for years now. so why did i only feel fulfilled when i got a partner? friend love isnt any less valuable than relationship love and thats something ive always stood firm on and make sure i dont neglect my friendships just because im dating someone. i think it must just be that this was the last piece of the puzzle. my friends are such a big bulk of the pieces but no matter how hard i tried (without realizing) i couldnt cram them into that little space that only a partner could fill. i felt guilty about that before but now i know its simply that i need a mosaic of different kinds of love

Tumblr media
hi dor,
this is ur long awaited mood board. it got a bit sparse cuz i have no idea what else to put but ill update it in the future and send it to u again. im kind of speaking as if im talking to other people but here is my explanation.
first off, on the top left corner (at least on my screen) is a shining star because although dor only has one official published work (that i know of so far), i already think that she is an amazing writer and im excited to see her write more pieces. she's a star waiting to be born.
on the top of the roof is a pair of headphones because that it is the emoji representation i have for her in my tags. it was inspired by her pfp (i think it's still the same when i first interacted with her) and im sure she has great music taste.
in the next level, i have an envelope with a heart because her blog is a love letter to park hanbin (though im pretty sure kum junhyeon was included but maybe my tumblr is broken) but the poems she shared to me and translated so just so...no words. im speechless.
as i wrote before, dor is an amazing writer so i have a maxwriter pen (this is also a nod to her junhyeon fic). next, we have a picture of park hanbin because...i think she said this was her favourite picture (or it's the one where he wore the collar shirt). anyways, i like this picture because to me, it represents dor and when i see her. she's very bright (as in smart and cheerful), she's beautiful inside and out and her writing is just *chef's kiss* just like this photo.
i also think she's sweet so i put a picture of mint chocolate ice cream because (1) park hanbin likes mint chocolate chip ice cream (2) she says she's neutral on ice cream flavours sooo...
next, we have the hug emoji (?). oftentimes, i complain to her on how my current phanbin series is flopping so badly and am hoping it's because my ideas and writing is bad but dor tells me i write super well (im thinking maybe my writing style is not just everyone's cup of tea and park hanbin isn't popular yet 💪) and my writing feeds her delusions soo im soo happy and it keeps me going. so i guess that's why i have the hearts too 💙
as i wrote before, dor is smart and she has very creative ideas (she shared me some of her story ideas) and they're soo cool. im excited for her to publish her future works. she also gives me great ideas and is why u will see me pumping more phanbin fics in the future (hence the puzzle piece cuz she helps complete my thoughts).
idk if i said this cuz this is getting longer than expected but we write phanbin fics in our chats but we also talk about other things and i feel like i could talk to her all day if it was possible.
lastly, the spiderman meme cuz even though she accuses me of being an enabler, she also enables me and is why i can write as much as i do for park hanbin.
omg moniiiii!!!!! i saw this so late, i'm so sorry. but this is gorgeous (insert crying emojis because i'm not on mobile). the way you put so much thought behind each image, and your attention to detail makes my heart go all mushy. i love it.

Uncovering the Truth Behind 5 Star Processing Reviews
If you've ever used the internet, then chances are you have read a few 5 star processing reviews. And if you've been using the internet for long enough, then chances are that you're wondering why there are so few of them. The truth is that if a company can achieve five star processing reviews, then it must be doing something right. Right? So why do so many companies offer 5 star processing reviews? The bottom line is that there are not enough 5 star processing reviews to go around. Companies may offer these incentives because they want to make sure that you are going to do what they ask of you. Another reason companies offer incentives for positive reviews is that they want to keep the flow of business coming through their doors rolling as smoothly as possible."
If a company can achieve five star processing reviews, then it must be doing something right. Right?
We've all seen the 5 star processing reviews and thought, "If a company can achieve five star processing reviews, then it must be doing something right. Right?" Well...not necessarily.
Reviews are not a measure of quality. They're just one piece of the puzzle--and even then, they can be manipulated by companies who want to look good online. So while you may see some companies with high ratings across multiple platforms (such as Trustpilot), this isn't necessarily an accurate representation of their overall performance and reputation in the industry.
So why do so many companies offer 5 star processing reviews?
But why do companies offer these incentives? Well, it's simple: they want to keep the flow of business coming through their doors rolling as smoothly as possible.
Incentives can also be offered because they want to make sure that you are going to do what they ask of you. For example, if a company asks for an inspection report and then offers an incentive for writing one within 24 hours, this shows that they care about getting feedback from customers quickly--it's not just another way for them to get paid!
The bottom line is that there are not enough 5 star processing reviews to go around.
You see, it's a numbers game: If 1 in 10 people leaves a 5 star review, there will be 9 out of 10 who don't leave one at all. That means that if you want to increase your chances of getting a high rating on Yelp or Google My Business (GMB), then you need a strategy for attracting those elusive five-star reviews from clients.
But how can you get more positive reviews when your competitors are offering the same products and services at similar prices? In order to stand out from the crowd--and get those coveted 5 star ratings--you'll need to find creative ways of incentivizing customers while also ensuring they're offering incentives only where appropriate; otherwise they risk alienating their other customers by giving preferential treatment based solely upon whether or not someone has left feedback about them before!
Companies may offer these incentives because they want to make sure that you are going to do what they ask of you.
Companies may offer these incentives because they want to make sure that you are going to do what they ask of you. They may want to make sure that you follow their instructions and rules, as well as any other requirements for using the service.
For example, many processing companies require that applicants be 18 years old or older and have a verifiable source of income (such as a paycheck). If this is true for your chosen processor, then the $50 gift card could be an incentive for them to ensure their customers are legally eligible before signing them up for an account.
Some companies provide incentives in exchange for a positive review because they know that if you have a bad experience with their company, then chances are you will not be inclined to write one.
Some companies provide incentives in exchange for a positive review because they know that if you have a bad experience with their company, then chances are you will not be inclined to write one. They want to make sure they are doing a good job and that their customers are happy with them so they can come back again or recommend them to others.
And yet another reason companies offer incentives for positive reviews is that they want to keep the flow of business coming through their doors rolling as smoothly as possible.
While it's true that some companies do offer incentives for positive reviews, it's also important to keep in mind that there are many reasons why businesses would want to encourage customers to leave five-star ratings on review sites. After all, they have a vested interest in keeping their business going--and that means keeping their customers happy and satisfied. As long as the customer is happy with their experience at your establishment or with your product or service, then there's no reason not to be happy about it!
It may seem like an obvious statement: "Of course I want my company's reputation online!" But consider for a moment how much work goes into maintaining such an online presence--and how much money gets poured into advertising campaigns each year just so people can find out about us on Google (or Bing). It can be easy enough for people who aren't involved directly with these kinds of things like SEO specialists or marketing directors forget just how much effort goes into creating the image we see today when searching through search engines like Google or Bing."
Stop wondering why companies offer so many incentives and instead focus on finding out what works best for your organization and then put it into action!
Stop wondering why companies offer so many incentives and instead focus on finding out what works best for your organization and then put it into action!
Don't get caught up in the hype of 5 star processing reviews. Don't be afraid to try new things and experiment with different incentives that can help you achieve better results in your business.
Conclusion
Now that you know the truth behind 5 star processing reviews, you can use this information to your advantage. You can start by asking yourself what kind of incentives would be most beneficial for your organization. For example, if you have a coupon code available then maybe offering customers who write positive reviews with a discount code would be beneficial? Or maybe offering free shipping on orders over $50 would work best for your company since many people like getting their packages at no cost! Whatever method works best for you will depend on what kind of business model works best for them as well as how much money they want spend on advertising costs each month

Nightmare Time Season 2 - What do the Cryptic Clues mean?
Just over a week ago, things were vaguely normal. Work was busy, I was tired, and this blog posted either a normal or ridiculous theory every now and then while I waited for life to settle down a bit again.
Then a blue N appeared.
And well, you have all witnessed the carnage that followed.
So we have spent a week piecing together the clues, blaming the bees, having meltdowns over green As, and working out timezone differences. Now we have a complete jigsaw puzzle giving us a whole bunch of clues. Layers upon layers of clues.
Tumblr media
So my thoughts are below. They're very loose and speculative at the moment, but that's the fun of it! Last time I did a theory like this was before Nightmare Time Season 1 and I was pretty bad at it - so you know... I can only go up!
The Clues:
1 - Blue
Tumblr media
Pictures: Bee and honeycomb; old barn or pot farm; boat on a lake; birds; honey
Phrases: Honey Queen; Perky’s Buds
This is the row that I think is giving us two different storylines, “Honey Queen” and “Perky’s Buds”.
Honey Queen - as a few people have mentioned is likely a reference to the Hatchetfield Honey Festival. Now when I hear the phrase Honey Queen, I imagine something similar to a May Queen, who is a girl picked to front a May Day parade. But this is Nightmare Time, so I also immediately thought of something similar to Carrie happening - though maybe with bees, or honey? I also think the boat relates here, and will link us to the Monroes somehow.
Perky’s Buds - I think this has a double meaning. Obviously it’s likely a reference to Emma’s pot farm, and is a FANTASTIC name for such. But I also think its going to mean Emma is going to meet some - not very pleasant characters. Now remember, Blinky is always watching, and has feathered sniggles. I think the birds in the image are Blinky watching what Emma is up to - they become her “buds” - though she isn’t happy about it.
2 - Green
Pictures: Woodcutting axe; canoe on a lake; cabins in woods; roasting marshmallows on a campfire; leather work
Phrases: Abstinence Camp
Oh, Abstinence Camp - this is the one most people seem most excited for as I’m sure we’re all seeing that possible connection to our longed for Nerdy Prudes. Abstinence Camp makes me think of typical teen slasher movies of the mostly 90s, but 70s and 80s also. Plus the axe is likely a reference to the one character I have been waiting for for SO long - Lumber-Axe the Mad Woodsman. Is he the killer in the woods killing off the horny young adults? There is also the leather work image, which I reverse searched to try and get a better image of it and found the original image, but it didn’t tell me much more than “leather work”.
Tumblr media
However it is also important to note the canoe on the lake, considering Deb’s family own a lakehouse, which is where the infamous party during Watcher World takes place.
3 - Purple
Pictures: Musician on a stage; sewer or portal; jukebox; wedding rings; diner
Phrases: Killer Track Daddy
Tumblr media
Yes, hello, please be about Miss Holloway. I don’t have much to say on the name, Killer Track Daddy, except I think again we’re getting a double meaning. Killer as in death, sure, but also Killer in the same way Bill S Preston Esquire and Ted Theodore Logan might say it. Which is why I am getting the 80s vibes from this and immediately going to Miss Holloway.
There is the theory that Miss Holloway was a star in the 80s (Tiffany) and has time travelled to now. Maybe the sewer is related to that time travel. The wedding rings are interesting, and @donteatthefishtacos mentioned the idea that Miss H and Wilbur Cross clearly have a long history - make of that what you will.
4 - Red
Pictures: A scantron exam sheet; lockers; a roller disco; fire; an arcade machine
Phrases: Yellow Jacket
Tumblr media
This is the one that makes me scratch my head the most. We're obviously in a high school, though do teens still roller disco? Teens, please let me know. So maybe this could also be set in a different time period. I mentioned that when I read Yellow Jacket my mind immediately went to a varsity jacket, because I am british and my only knowledge of american high schools is Saved by the Bell and Mean Girls. I'm assuming its an accurate representation.
Now I know by the video Matt posted we've seen Hatcherfield's school colours, but I still think there's gonna be something in the varsity jacket idea. Plus, yellow - tinky - time travel. Which would explain the roller rink.
The fire makes me think something might have burnt down, like the roller rink. And maybe something was built on top of it? Like the Starlight. The arcade machine however? Maybe we'll see Pizza Petes in more than one story, but one of the stories will just be a background storyline, like in Black Friday - and then we learn about the real horrors of Pizza Petes in another story.

Nibbly Must Eat
Its very possible this is its own story, in which case - NIBBLY!!!!
With the image Dylan posted of Nick with a pretzel surrounded by game machines, I am indeed getting FNAF vibes, and god love us if Nibbly is haunting a pizza place.
I also saw this post by @themystifier about how Pizza Pete might be similar to Uncle Wiley, but like. What if he is Uncle Wiley. What if this is another Wilbur part? We see him as Uncle Wiley, we see him as the Wiggly delivery man, we hear him as the announcer at Watcher World. So what if this is another role?
6 - The Vertices
The Monarch is Now Vexed
I fully anticipate a new Being who is the parent of the LiB and Webby. They're Lords, but this is a Monarch.
I've also decided the Monarch is Nick, as his only part in the Nightmare Time intro is during “Daddy's Gonna Get Ya.”
Some other interesting theories (not anywhere near all the ones I wanted to include - anything I have reblogged I have loved, but these are just some notable ones I found)

Rambling About my Autism: Masking, Self-Exploration and Understanding Eachother
I don’t know if I speak for every single neurodivergent person out there but I don’t struggle with autism. I struggle with other people not having it or not even having a concept of what it is. I don’t expect total empathy but it would be nice if I got a centimeter of wiggle room when it came to social situations without coming across like I want cheat codes for life.
Tumblr media
I use the pronoun “my” because everyone experiences autism differently and it’s such a complicated diagnosis that it’s entirely understandable why neurotypical people are very confused by it. It doesn’t help that autism isn’t really touched upon in education or that representation of neurodivergent people in the media is pretty poor. Often, whenever an uninitiated neurotypical person thinks of autism, they either think of edgy internet humour or Rain Man and they’re just as bad as each other in my estimation.
I was diagnosed in Primary School when I was about seven years old but at the time, I didn’t think much of it. I might’ve told some of my friends at school but I couldn’t tell them anything about what it meant or anything. I never understood why my parents took me to this place far out of town where this man in a suit was asking me bizarre questions and conundrums or why I had to leave the room for several minutes whilst the man just spoke to my parents.
Tumblr media
I was one of those kids who was steadfastly attached to a counsellor because I had a short fuse in the nursery which carried on until I was about nine years of age. I don’t remember her ever having a conversation with me about my diagnosis. Maybe she wasn’t qualified to speak about it or something, I don’t know.
Anyway, I only really took notice of it when I was fourteen because I started to realize that I was missing pieces of puzzles all the time. Throughout school, I had a terrible fear of failure in the sense that I didn’t want to try and do anything without very specific instructions because I was scared of the consequence of doing it wrong. People would tell me jokes and I wouldn’t get them. I would miss social cues sometimes. I was overly self-conscious of things that “normal” people aren’t supposed to be self-conscious of like the size of my shoes.
Then, I was worried about telling anyone because of the stigma attached to it at the time. Being raised by the internet mostly, people made fun of autism all the time and not in a particularly fun way. Being autistic meant that you were stupid and sub-human. I feared facing direct harrassment in real life so I left it alone for a bit. Only my friends knew about it.
Tumblr media
It wasn’t until I was about eighteen where I realized that it was something special about me; it was part of my character. I read more about it. I talked to people online who also had autism or they were concerned that they might have it and encouraged them to be diagnosed. I was exploring it and I realized that it was more interesting than I thought. I embraced it. One of the very few good things about the internet is that you are allowed to be who you are and find other people who are the same as you. I know this is because of social engineering and advertising etc but still.
To this day, I still live with it and it still does bother me from time to time but I feel like part of being human is self-exploration and learning to live with yourself. There are still times where I act irrationally because I’m socially paranoid which is an off-shoot of me being a constant thinker. There is still a fear of me doing or saying the wrong thing to upset people or that I’m misinterpreted. Not having many friends at school, I’m keen to get attached to people but I get quickly overwhelmed and anxious. I would still probably suffer a sensory overload in nightclubs which can lead to something like panic attacks All this is part of learning about yourself and it’s a disservice to not try and address it. Not to solve it, but to realize who you are and accept yourself.
Tumblr media
What some neurodivergent people are self-conscious of is the idea of masking. This essentially means that you hide autistic behaviours by doing an impression of a neurotypical individual which is a practice that is definitely unhealthy. I’ve been guilty of this throughout university when I’m rubbing shoulders with people I barely know because there is an element of safety in it. Ultimately though, you should be allowed to be yourself in real life and I do know that there are some people who see my overanalysis in conversation and wished that I would shut the fuck up. What I say to that is that there will be people like that anyway if you’re autistic or not and we should work together to normalize being who you are. “Normal” to me is who I am.
Really, I’ve had it easy in comparison to other autistic folk. Some won’t find out for ages that they’re autistic because they don’t have anyone around them showing concern or, if you’re AFAB, you have to jump through all these hoops because of the inherently sexist industry. In 2021, the “woman are just hysterical” viewpoint is indeed, still a thing. I spare a thought for people who are getting diagnosed after their teens when I got diagnosed in about an hour. To those people, I encourage you to keep pressing forward with it and to not give up getting the help and support you need. It’ll be alright because it’s not as scary as Rain Man makes it out to be.
Tumblr media
If there is anyone reading this who is concerned that they might be autistic or that they know someone who does. I say that you don’t need to be concerned. If you want to be diagnosed, push for the diagnosis but if you can’t or you don’t want to. That’s fine too. Do what I did. Reach out to other autistic people and talk to them. Join a Discord server and have a chat because there are more neurodivergent people out there than you might think and they are all looking to open the conversation as well.
Outside of that, I don’t know where this was going. Just try and understand each other.
