“They say when you unmask, you can never mask again. It’s not true for everybody; which is why I escaped.”
So who’s gonna write a Teen Dystopia novel about what’s being done to so many autistic kids in ABA and schools similar?
Who’s going to talk about what our generation has done and will do to stop the hatred towards us?

why did you block @my-autism-adhd-blog
I made a statement that unintentionally offended a lot of people; that being I don’t like the rainbow and infinity symbol for the community because I feel like it’s saying that only queer autistic people can be proud of who they are (no offense).

Today NJ Transit did better than the actual US federal government:

This is their new autism acceptance locomotive wrap, with the rainbow infinity symbol and the word 'acceptance' instead of 'awareness.' NJT literally outdid the federal government, which has gone back to 'awareness' because they don't want us to exist.
I got this photo from NJ Transit's Facebook page, which is here. There are buses, too! Check 'em out! I'll definitely be on the hunt for this locomotive; it's been a while since I've done some proper trainspotting but I'm going to stake her out and get some good photos. I'm looking forward to the hunt!
Anyway, just thought you all should know that a commuter railroad is better at this than a lot of major corporations and the actual American government, so there you go.

Tim, holding a crowbar: Yknow, Joker, there are infinite realities where you're already dead, where you never existed? An infinity of times you were good, or kind, or caring. There's even times you were a symbol of joy for all children, instead of a vicious monster that deserves nothing but the worst.
Joker: . .uh, infinities a pretty big number, you sure it's not like...10 or something?
Tim: Yeah, it is a big number. Have you ever seen infinity of something? Do you think if you ever got the chance to see it you would even be able to comprehend it? I can see infinity stacked on top of infinity an infinite number of times. Could your infinitely small mind ever dream to comprehend something even close to that?
Joker: Do you have a fucking fever or something?
Joker: Do-do I need to call the bat? Are you even supposed to fighting right now??? What is happening, are you even lucid? Am I lucid? Did I take an acid and forget???

So after the spoilers for Chap 257 dropped, I saw some tweets clarifying the meaning of the Kanji Sukuna used in the chapter when referring to his mother, and the overall reveals in the chapter got me thinking.
I’m making this post as a way of gathering my thoughts, personal speculations and where I think all of this connects to Sukuna’s character and the information Gege has given us over the years. Nothing I say is by any means new information, but like I said, I’m just collecting my thoughts here. By the way, just a warning, this post contains SPOILERS for the JJK Manga! If you don’t like that, please don’t read this!
Something I’ve noticed is that the theme of “Hunger” and symbolism of “Cooking/Food” is heavily referenced with Sukuna throughout the Manga. Gege in a previous Fanbook has disclosed Sukuna’s favorite Hobby to be “Eating”.
This theme is again very much ingrained within Sukuna’s cursed techniques and even his Domain Expansion, the “Malevolent Shrine”. With his two main techniques being “Dismantle” and “Cleave” are cutting-type attacks. He is also able to use a Flame-Arrow, and Fire is essential for making Food. The Shrine in his Domain Expansion literally has mouths on all sides, looking eager to chew down anything in-front of them!

This symbolism also heavily influences Sukuna’s own manner of speech, and the way he speaks to other characters in the series as well. With his post-fight chat with Jogo before his death, Sukuna mentions Jogo lacking the “Hunger” to take control of his desires, preventing him from reaching the heights of Gojo Satoru. Before the Start of their fight in Shinjuku, Sukuna called Gojo a “Nameless Fish on top of his cutting board”, and that he was going to start by “Peeling off the scales”(refering to Gojo’s infinity). There’s also further symbolism that supports this by analyzing the Kanji and meaning of Sukuna’s “Malevolent Shrine” but I’m not very educated on that so I won’t be opening that point here.
What all of this points to is that Eating and Food……is extremely important to Sukuna, to the point that it literally affects him in manners innumerable.
Eating is an instinct, a necessity for the survival of every single living being.
And In the face of extreme Hunger and starvation, even those with the strongest will could lose their Humanity and revert to the basic animalistic side of their existence. (The Heian Period also had a Famine, although I believe the timing to be a bit off, but do with this info as you see fit)
In JJK Chapter 257, it is revealed to us that Sukuna and his Twin were most likely starving in the womb of their starving mother.
On the brink of starvation, Sukuna had to consume his “other self”(his twin), so that he could survive.
Btw, this tweet and this thread gives additional characterisation to Sukuna:
Link to the original thread: Link.
More context (and reactions :P):
Link to original thread: Here
This reveals to us that indeed, Sukuna was born a twin. And as we all know, “Twins” are seen with extreme scrutiny in Jujutsu Society, they’re not well liked. This too in a period where Cursed Spirits and Jujutsu Sorcery was at its peak, it is not far-fetched to assume that his Mother may not have been treated very well by the people in her surroundings, especially as she bore twins.
When Kashimo asks if Sukuna was born the Strongest or if he made himself the Strongest, this is the response Sukuna gave to him:
When you think about it, how do you think the people around them would have reacted when the woman: who was supposed to birth two twins, gave birth to a single child instead? and that child had consumed his other twin in the womb itself?
No doubt people would’ve been horrified, disgusted and even revulsed. With the woman and her newborn child.
This would’ve led to their further ostracisation in the already very close-minded society. Unable to fend for herself and her newborn child, it must’ve been difficult for Sukuna’s mother to survive. I feel like somewhere along the line, Sukuna was left alone to fend for himself at an extremely young age. To protect himself from both Curses and Society alike.
This is why I believe Sukuna knows what true starvation, weakness and hunger feels like. Both in the emotional and literal sense. He was left without another person caring about him or his well-being, in a cut-throat period where it was “Fight or be killed”.
Powerful curses roamed all across Japan, nowhere was safe. Simply be strong, or you'll die. There's no room for weakness. And initially, a kid!Sukuna was weak, as anyone would be in the beginning when they're just starting out in this world. (and maybe, he didn't have much to eat, leading to long periods of starvation? :') )
I believe it is this debilitating hunger, and feeling of weakness that eventually led to Sukuna’s current Hedonistic mindset.
He’s essentially traumatised by it, and believes that it was his own weakness that led him to experience this sheer starvation. That he deserved to feel this way because he was weak then. Perhaps, the people around him were right, that as long as they have the power and strength to overcome anything, they’re free to do as they please; And there is nothing anyone else could do about it.
I feel like the irony here is that Sukuna himself, must’ve been a “weakling” before eventually rising the ranks to become History’s Strongest Sorcerer. This is also why he values Strength so much.
Ultimately, Sukuna has decided that there was nothing more important than being strong enough to fulfill your own desires. And “eating” is one of his most important desires. It’s his favourite thing to do, the one he derives the most pleasure out of. And like an animal, whose main focus is to consume, consume and consume. He too, simply consumes.
Most morals likely have no meaning to him. He doesn’t care who he hurts, what he does, as long as he’s able to get what he wants. And this isn’t limited to eating.
This is why people referring to Sukuna as a “Natural Disaster” is so befitting of him. Because Natural Disasters also don’t care about what or who they’re destroying, they just come and go, wreaking havoc appropriate for their nature and magnitude.
I believe Sukuna himself has said lines similar in nature, when talking to Kashimo:

Now I’m not sure how Sukuna perceives or even experiences this “Love”, because I think he has a rather very warped idea of it. I do think that this definition of love is similar to the one that Gojo also understands, but I don’t think he knows what “love” truly is. I’m not sure how I could comment on this, but I do think that Sukuna’s emotionally starved, whether he realises that or not.
Because, like Kashimo himself asked Sukuna “What is the point of dividing your soul into 20 different parts and then traversing across time if you’re satisfied with this?” we do not know the answer to that yet.
But many people have speculated that “Black Box” panels in JJK manga represent a curse (either self-inflicted or put by someone) on the speaker. Like, take a look over here where Sukuna reiterates the same dialogue, except it looks like he’s trying to reassure himself:

This once again shows that Sukuna has only ever strived for himself, in the same hedonistic fashion, to a very very extreme degree. It is possible that he's been lacking something, and he himself does not realise that he’s lacking it. Maybe it was this subconscious feeling, that led to Sukuna agreeing to Kenjaku’s plan of dividing his soul into 20 different parts, and to traverse across time as a Cursed Object.
Sukuna’s an incredibly complex character, and I’m excited to see where this goes. Gege has put extra care in the way he characterizes and depicts Sukuna, and again, I’m really sad that a lot of that characterization gets lost in translation. Still, I’m going to try my best to understand and get the most accurate feel of his character as I possibly can.
If you made it this far, Thank you for reading! And if you would like, please do leave a comment in the tags or replies because I would love to read what other people think of this and just Sukuna in general. I do not see a lot of people doing critical analysis of him, and a lot of his actions are seemingly swept under the rug. I don’t like that, so hopefully this contributes to people focusing more on Sukuna and his character. (/^v^)/ <3

𝐃𝐞𝐣𝐚 𝐕𝐮 - 𝐏𝐒𝐇

Warning - Soft angst, soulmate AU, emotional intensity, implied intimacy, fate themes
Note - SFW CONTENT
Genre - Soulmate AU, Romance, Slight Angst, Comfort
Pairing - NonIdol!Sunghoon x NonIdol!FemReader
Song Inspiration - Déjà Vu by TOMORROW X TOGETHER
Word Count - 1.6k words

The first time you saw him, something in your chest twisted—not painfully, but in a way that made you pause, as if your soul had been caught mid-step.
It wasn’t the first time you had met him. And yet, it was.
A paradox. A contradiction.
Déjà vu.
Sunghoon stood just a few feet away, his gaze locked onto yours, frozen in the same bewilderment you felt. The world around you buzzed with life, yet in that moment, it felt as though only the two of you existed.
Your wrist tingled. The infinity symbol etched into your skin pulsed faintly, a quiet reminder of the bond that had yet to be formed.
And then, he looked down at his own wrist.
The same mark. The same glow.
Neither of you spoke about it. Not then. Not when the weight of fate pressed so heavily on your shoulders that you were afraid to breathe too hard, afraid that one word might shatter the fragile moment between you.
Instead, your story unfolded naturally.
You became friends—if you could even call it that. It was something deeper than friendship, something unspoken. Sunghoon understood you in ways you didn’t have to explain. He noticed things, like how you always fidgeted with the hem of your sleeves when you were nervous or how you bit the inside of your cheek when lost in thought.
And you noticed him, too. The way he fell silent when he was thinking too much. The way his fingers trembled slightly when he was overwhelmed. The way his eyes softened when they landed on you, even when he was exhausted, even when he didn’t say a word.
The bond was more than just a mark on your skin.
You felt him.
It started subtly. A dull ache in your temples when he had a sleepless night. A sharp sting in your knuckles when he had been training too hard. A phantom warmth in your chest when he laughed, as if his joy was yours, too.
It was beautiful. It was terrifying.
Because the deeper you fell, the more real it became.
And neither of you were ready to face what it meant.
Until one night, the waiting ended.
The city was quiet, the world washed in hues of deep blue and flickering gold. You had spent the evening wandering together, filling the silence with quiet conversation, until the words ran out and all that remained was the steady rhythm of your footsteps on pavement.
Sunghoon stopped first. His fingers brushed yours—barely there, but enough to send a shiver down your spine.
“I feel like I’ve known you forever,” he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.
You swallowed, your heart pounding. “I know what you mean.”
His eyes searched yours, something fragile and unspoken lingering between you. “I was scared,” he admitted. “To say it out loud. To acknowledge that this… that you mean more than anything else.”
Your breath hitched. “Sunghoon…”
“I don’t want to run from it anymore,” he whispered.
He reached for you then, his fingers threading through yours, grounding you in his warmth. And when he leaned in, you didn’t pull away.
The moment his lips touched yours, the world shifted.
A rush of heat spread through your body, something ancient and all-consuming. Your mark burned—not painfully, but intensely, as if it had been waiting for this moment, for this touch, to fully awaken.
You gasped against his lips, eyes flying open just as he pulled back—just as his gaze locked onto yours in stunned silence.
Violet.
His eyes—your eyes—no longer held their original hues. Instead, they shimmered with an ethereal glow, deep and endless, reflecting the infinity symbol that now pulsed with the same color on your wrists.
Sunghoon exhaled shakily, his hands trembling as they cradled your face. “It’s real,” he whispered.
You could barely breathe. “It’s us.”
The revelation settled between you like a quiet promise. There was no escaping it, no pretending it wasn’t fate.
He held your gaze for a long moment before reaching for your hand. “Come with me.”
You followed him without hesitation.
Back at his apartment, the air felt different—thicker, charged with the weight of what had just happened. Neither of you spoke as he led you inside, closing the door behind him.
And then, as if drawn together by something far greater than choice, you melted into his embrace.
His lips found yours again—not rushed, not desperate, but knowing. His hands traced gentle patterns down your spine, grounding you, reassuring you.
“You’re shaking,” he murmured against your skin.
You let out a breathy laugh. “So are you.”
He pulled back just enough to look at you, his expression unreadable. Then, slowly, he led you to his bed, pulling you under the covers with him. No urgency, no expectations. Just warmth. Just closeness.
Just love.
You curled into him, his arms tightening around you as if afraid you might disappear. Your fingers found his wrist, tracing the now-glowing mark there, feeling the steady beat of his pulse beneath your touch.
“I keep thinking…” you whispered sleepily.
He hummed. “Thinking what?”
“That I’ve lived this before.”
Sunghoon’s lips brushed against your forehead, his voice soft as he whispered, “Maybe you have.”
Your eyelids grew heavy, exhaustion pulling you under. But just before sleep claimed you, you felt it—
The certainty that no matter how many lives you lived, no matter how many times the universe reset itself—
You would always find him.
Because this wasn’t just fate.
It was déjà vu.

Greetings, happy April which means happy autism awareness & acceptance month.
As we state every year, Autism Speaks isn’t the “autism advocacy” support group you think it is. Autism Speaks is full of ableism (and 🧩). Autism Speaks is primarily focused on autistic CHILDREN, they refuse to acknowledge that autistic children turn into autistic adults. So please, don’t go buying that AS (BS) merch at Walmart.
What’s wrong with 🧩?
Puzzle pieces say that there is something wrong with autistic people, therefore “there is a missing piece” or that we need a cure for our autism.
What can I use instead of 🧩?
The infinity symbol. ♾️ After all, the infinity symbol signifies unity.
What organizations can I support instead of Autism Speaks?
There’s organizations like Autistic Women & Non-binary Network (AWN) and Yellow Ladybugs who both support autistic women & gender diverse individuals.
And as always, we need acceptance AND awareness, not one or the other. Let’s also acknowledge the whole spectrum of autism, not just bits and pieces.
This is just a short piece I wanted to write up. Let’s also acknowledge that April is also for sexual assault awareness and deaf history.
Ciao,
Azhtynn E. Myllo 🏳️🌈

My neurodivergent friends, what do you think about this?
I really don’t like the puzzle piece. It makes autistic people look like they are “puzzling” or that something is “missing” from us. It’s also the logo of the hate group Autism Speaks.
I understand that it has different meanings. But…I just don’t like it. At all.
That’s just my opinion, but I want to hear from you guys. What do you think of the puzzle piece? Do you think it represents autism as it should? Let me know.

"Babe! Come look at this!" Billie's voice rang out through the house as you heard your girlfriend come home. You'd been in the living room, playing a video game which you paused the moment you heard her voice.
Practically jumping off the couch as you stood, you made your way to Billie with a smile; giving her jawline a kiss as you hugged her. Leaving your arms loosely around her shoulders. "What is it, Bils?"
"Check this out," Billie smirked, giving you a gentle nudge so she could pull off her shirt. You raised an eyebrow in confusion, watching her with curiosity.
She then pointed to a fresh tattoo, you guessed that's what she'd been doing the last few hours. Getting another tattoo. Though this one was different, it rested just above where her heart would be and was the infinity symbol. Where the circles would have crossed was instead a heart; then in very fine calligraphy... was your name.
Your eyes widened when you noticed the details of it. How it had your name, the heart, the infinity symbol. It was easy to piece together what it meant; especially since Billie wouldn't stop smiling.
"Billie..." Her name left your mouth as barely a whisper, your own smile mirroring hers.
"Like it?" She asked, though she figured by your reaction that you did. She just wanted to hear you say it.
"Yes," You nodded and pulled her close to you again, taking her lips against yours in a kiss.
The symbol was sweet and you couldn't help but love her even more for getting the tattoo.

"did you know? in numerology, the number 30 is the number of the circle — symbolizing infinity and absolute completion," your friend says out of nowhere, breaking the silence stretching between you both for too long. her voice is casual, almost absent—minded, as if she’s saying it more to fill the air than to actually start a conversation.
the rhythmic hum of the city continues around you — distant car horns, the occasional chatter of passersby, the gentle rustling of leaves caught in the evening breeze. you keep your eyes on your phone, idly scrolling, not particularly invested in anything on the screen but unwilling to put it away. the silence had been comfortable at first, but now it’s beginning to feel like a slow crawl, a lingering weight pressing between the two of you.
finally, you lift your head, giving your friend a mildly unimpressed look. "you know those numbers don’t actually mean anything, right? like zodiacs," you say, your tone teetering between playful skepticism and genuine dismissal.
your friend scoffs, shoving their hands into their pockets as they walk a little ahead before turning back to glance at you. "this is nothing compared to zodiacs," they argue. "numbers are actually real."
"sure, numbers are real," you say, tucking your phone into your pocket, "but the meanings behind them aren’t. they’re just... made—up interpretations."
they shrug, unfazed. "i'm not saying i believe in numerology," they clarify, their gaze drifting up toward the darkening sky. "it’s just interesting to read about. people used to believe in it, and i think it’s kind of cool to understand why. it’s no different from you reading that stupid novel you won’t shut up about."
you let out an incredulous laugh. "that is so not the same thing."
"yeah? how is it different?" they challenge, a teasing lilt in their voice.
you hesitate, searching for a solid counterpoint, but you don’t really have one. instead, you shake your head with a smirk. "whatever. just don’t start telling me my ‘life path number’ next."
"the number 30 symbolizes completion. perhaps your number is 29, because you never finish your homework on time," your friend grins, nudging your shoulder as you both continue walking. the conversation, as trivial as it was, has shaken off the silence, leaving behind something easier, lighter.
"but have you read it?" you ask, hoping to spark a little excitement, or at least a bit of interest.
your friend doesn’t respond right away, her attention shifting momentarily as she reaches over, nudging your bag to the side, guiding you out of the way of an oncoming pole you were oblivious to. you barely register it, but the small gesture snaps you out of your daze.
"watch where you're going," she chides, the same dry tone she always uses when she’s not fully invested in a conversation. she lifts her arm to scratch the back of her neck, a subconscious move that suggests she’s not really paying attention to the world around her. "no, i haven’t," she continues, her voice a little distracted. "i’ve been swamped with assignments lately. and so are most of the people in my course. besides, your exams are next month. you should probably be revising instead of getting lost in those stupid manhwas."
at her words, you can’t help but scoff, turning off your phone as if you were deeply offended. "how dare you?" you tease, pretending to be scandalized by her offhand remark. "i never revise. to revise is to doubt one’s potential, after all." you pause, eyes widening as if struck by a sudden epiphany. "besides, my online friend gave me the link to that manhwa novel i've been telling you about."
"roxana?" she asks, raising an eyebrow, her voice dripping with skepticism. "i thought the author had a miscarriage and it got put on hiatus. i really doubt the manhwa is going to come back anytime soon."
"hmm, it was," you hum, nodding slowly as if you're genuinely deep in thought. "the manhwa is separate from the novel, though. like, it was a book first, and then they adapted it into a comic — well, not a cartoon exactly, but something like that." you trail off, trying to find the right word but coming up empty. "i don’t know… it’s like... a comic book?" you throw your hands up in frustration, giving up on the explanation altogether.
you take a large step forward, turning your body so that you're now face to face with her. she stops dead in her tracks, her hands instinctively landing on her hips as she looks at you with that all—too—familiar exasperated look. you can see the reluctant glimmer in her eyes as she rolls them, clearly trying to hide the fact that you’re getting under her skin just a little.
"fine," she drags the word out, a mix of defeat and reluctant amusement coloring her voice. "i’ll read it," she adds, and you're about to explode in excitement, but she holds up a hand to stop you. "if. you revise."
your mouth drops open, the excitement draining out of you for a split second as you process the condition. you stare at her incredulously, as if you’ve just been asked to solve a riddle that doesn’t make sense.
"of course, what friend do you take me for?" you say dramatically, placing a hand over your heart like you’ve just been insulted. you squint at her through narrowed eyes, your tone playful. "i always revise... just, you know, in my own special way."
she snorts, rolling her eyes at your antics. "that’s not what you said a minute ago," she mutters, shaking her head. "you know what happens in the novel. based on what you told me," your friend says, breaking the silence, "if you were transmigrated into that world, what would you even do?"
"heh," you say, smug. "i thought you’d never ask."
you pause for dramatic effect, locking eyes with your friend, who already looks like they regret entertaining this conversation.

you sigh to yourself as you slip into your chair, the stiff cushion doing little to comfort your aching back. propping your feet onto the stool under the desk, you stretch your legs, a dragged—out whine escaping your lips. the exhaustion seeps into your bones, your limbs feeling heavier than they should. letting your head fall back against the chair, you stare at the ceiling as if it holds the answers to all your problems.
your mind drifts, as it always does when you’re stuck in front of an open textbook, to the ridiculous events from earlier in class. the memory plays out in your head like a scene from a comedy sketch—your classmate, grinning like an idiot, launching a block of ice across the room with zero hesitation. you remember the sharp intake of breath as it barely missed you before ricocheting off a desk leg and skidding dangerously close to your chemistry teacher's shoe.
that earned the entire class a solid twenty—minute lecture from the deputy headteacher about how you were all “almost adults” and should be acting like it. you recall exchanging glances with a few classmates, biting back grins as she droned on about maturity and responsibility — almost adults. right. because real adults totally don’t throw ice cubes at each other for entertainment.
shaking your head, you refocus, forcing yourself back to reality. with a deep breath, you turn on your laptop, the familiar hum of the fan kicking in as the screen illuminates your desk. you flip open your physics textbook to page 257, a number permanently seared into your brain thanks to your teacher’s constant drilling. time to lock in.
you roll your neck from side to side, relishing the satisfying pops as tension unwinds from your muscles. you inhale deeply, mentally bracing yourself for the upcoming battle.
homework.
your eyes scan the bolded headers, each one more dreadful than the last.
health care in the workplace...
ppe... slip and fall risks...
harvard referencing...
harvard referencing. the final straw.
"i can't do this anymore," you groan dramatically, letting your head plop onto the desk with a heavy thud. the weight of the information pressing into your skull makes you feel like you’re absorbing it through sheer force. it’s like i’m learning all of this for the first time again…
your gaze shifts to the workbook beside you, streaked with pastel purple highlighter in a desperate attempt to organize the chaos. highlight everything important, she says. you scowl. how am i supposed to do that when literally everything is important?!
a sense of impending doom creeps in as you recall the deposit fee you paid for the workbook. temporary use. no refunds. you groan into your arms, cursing your past self for not just photocopying the pages instead.
desperation calls for drastic measures. you reach out, arm stretching across the desk like a starved survivor reaching for sustenance. my phone... come here, baby. with a not—so—graceful lunge, you grab it, your body momentarily hovering above your chair before plopping back down with a dull thud. freedom.
you press the power button, and immediately, a flood of notifications greets you.
instagram… whatsapp… tiktok…
radish?
oh. the new chapter.
excitement flutters in your chest as you tap on the radish icon, pressing your thumb against the lock screen’s designated area. the app unlocks, revealing the awaited update.
your eyes dart across the screen at lightning speed — or at least, what feels like it. each line pulls you deeper into the story, the words blurring together in your mind as the tension rises. a sharp inhale. a barely suppressed gasp. oh no, he didn’t.
and then—
silence.
your fingers freeze. your screen dims slightly from inactivity, but you can’t bring yourself to move. your hand flies to your mouth in shock as your brain struggles to process the final moments of the chapter.
you place your phone down. stare at it. pick it up again.
ain’t no fucking way. ain’t no fucking way he got his arm ripped off for her.
a quiet chuckle bubbles in your throat, shaking your head in mild disbelief. huh. sierra was right. he would do anything for her. you let the thought settle in, your fingers tracing aimless patterns on the desk. that must be nice.
a weird kind of melancholy seeps into your chest. you shake it off, forcing yourself to focus on the story again, but the lingering thought doesn’t quite leave.
your mind drifts further than you’d like. the memory of childhood friends, ones who faded into strangers over time, tugs at the corners of your consciousness. the echo of laughter from years ago, of classmates bickering over dodgeball teams, resurfaces uninvited. i never was that athletic.
and then — your family.
a tightness constricts your chest as your mind dares to wander there. i wonder how they’re doing now.
for a fleeting moment, you consider leaving the radish app to check your messages. just to see if they’ve reached out. but you hesitate. they’re probably busy as always. i’d be surprised if they still remember me. your fingers hover over the screen, but instead of switching apps, you let out a small, humorless chuckle. maybe tomorrow.
you glance at the pink ‘next chapter’ button at the bottom of the screen, tapping it mindlessly.
three hours until the next update.
the realization saps what little energy you had left. you rub your eyes, blinking away the drowsiness creeping in from staring at the screen for too long.
"a small nap wouldn’t hurt, right?" you murmur, voice barely above a whisper.
the weight of the day presses down on you as you lean back in your chair, eyes slipping shut. just a few minutes. that’s all. just a small nap.
⋆˚𝜗𝜚˚⋆
you are falling.
the sky above you is an endless expanse of swirling gray, thick clouds rushing past as the force of gravity pulls you down. the air is ice—cold, slicing through your clothes like sharp knives, tearing at your skin, numbing your fingers as you reach out, as if grasping at nothingness could somehow slow your descent.
wind roars in your ears, drowning out every rational thought, replacing them with one singular, overwhelming fact—
you are going to die.
panic claws at your chest, your heartbeat a violent drum, pounding so hard it feels like it might shatter your ribs. your breath comes in quick, shallow gasps, lungs burning as though the very air has turned against you. you try to move, to twist your body, but the sheer speed of the fall makes everything sluggish, like you're trapped in a nightmare where your limbs refuse to respond.
through the blur of your flailing limbs and the rush of air, you catch glimpses of the world below — dark, towering trees, jagged cliffs, distant rivers reflecting the dying light of the setting sun. everything is a distorted painting smeared across the earth, rushing toward you too fast, too soon.
and then—
"who is that?!"
a voice, sharp and distant, breaks through the chaos.
your head jerks toward the sound, eyes widening as you struggle to locate its source. someone sees me. someone—
but hope is fleeting.
you try to scream for help, but nothing escapes your throat — only silence. your mouth opens, but the wind snatches your voice away before it can form a single syllable. a sob rips through you instead, the helplessness settling in like a lead weight in your gut. you curl in on yourself, arms wrapping around your knees, as if making yourself smaller will somehow change fate.
this can’t be how it ends.
tears sting your eyes, blurring the sky above. a thousand thoughts race through your mind, frantic, desperate. i can’t die yet. not like this.
"i can’t die now..." you choke out, the words barely audible over the storm of wind.
and then—
a shift.
something changes in the air around you.
someone.
before you can process what’s happening, an iron grip latches around your waist. the sensation is sudden, almost violent, the force of it jerking you from your freefall. the air pressure changes instantly, the brutal wind no longer tearing at you, and instead, you feel stability.
arms. strong, unwavering, wrapped tightly around you.
your breath catches.
"you won’t die now," a voice murmurs into your ear, smooth and dripping with amusement. there’s something about it — calm, cocky, unbothered, as if saving a falling person from certain death is just a minor inconvenience to him. "you're lucky i have such a benevolent heart..."
your brain is still catching up. you twist slightly in his hold, trying to see his face, but all you manage to make out is the faint outline of a sharp jaw, short hair, and piercing eyes staring down at you like you’re some lost little creature.
who is he?
before you can ask, before you can even attempt to speak, his grip tightens, and he lets out an exaggerated sigh.
"i expect you to pay me back tenfold."
your lips part, an indignant response bubbling up, but you refuse to humor him with a reply. instead, you press your trembling fingers against his arm, feeling the warmth beneath the fabric.
he saved you.
but why?
the seconds stretch, stretching into something unmeasurable, and just as you start to adjust to the overwhelming sensation of being held instead of falling, a sudden pressure presses into your neck.
your body reacts instantly, a hazy wave of dizziness sweeping over you. your vision darkens at the edges, limbs going limp in his grasp.
no—
your thoughts scatter.
you try to fight it. try to speak, to resist, to understand what’s happening—
but the world fades before you can.
darkness swallows you whole.

Infinity symbols: a guide to their variations
Infinity symbols are popular in graphic design for good reason. In this post, I'm gonna describe ways to vary up the designs of infinity symbols. My goal is to educate fellow neurodivergent people on how to make infinity symbols that don't look like the Métis flag.
The neurodiversity community has been using rainbow infinity symbols since 2005. Here are neurodiversity flags from 2013, 2016, and 2019:
However, there's a problem with some of the new flag designs for a flag that is autism-specific. Here are some of the contenders:

These use a solid white infinity symbol. The solid white infinity curve is a symbol of Métis.
The Métis flag, created in 1815, has a white lemniscate on red background. Nowadays the Métis use the blue version more often. And to the right is the Métis queer pride flag:
For those unfamiliar, the Métis are one of the major Indigenous groups in what is now Canada, with most of their >600,000 population in the western and central parts of the country. The word métis means half-breed in French; lower-case m métis refers to those with mixed Indigenous and European ancestry. Capital-M Métis refers to the specific culture of métis that emerged, distinct from both Indigenous and settler cultures, and speaking hybrid languages such as Michif.
The issue of likeness has been brought up many times. While I can believe the autistic flag makers didn't know about the issue when making their designs, I know at least one of them was promptly informed of the issue and dismissed it.
The autistic community writ large has been pretty dismissive about this issue. I wonder if some of the defensiveness comes from not seeing an alternative - thinking that infinity symbol design is all or nothing.
I have some good news: it's possible to make infinity symbols that don't look Métis!
HOW INFINITY SYMBOLS VARY (PART ONE)
ASPECT A: TOPOLOGY
The first way we can categorize infinity symbols is their topology. These four varieties are most common
Topology 1: Open infinity symbol - this is the oldest style of using a figure-8 shape to represent the mathematical concept of infinity. On the left is the version Euler used.
-
Topology 2: Lemniscate - a closed curve. On the left is the Metis flag. The curve is one solid entity: notice how the rainbow gradient on the right fills the whole thing.
-
Topology 3: Infinity *loop* - imagine you take a hair tie or rubber band and twist it. One part of the infinity loop is clearly in front, with another part clearly behind it. Loops are well established for neurodiversity and I think we should stick to using these.
Notice in the left example how the pattern flips between left and right. Also compare the rainbow gradient on the right to the lemniscate rainbow gradient above it. -
Topology 4: Infinity *ribbon* - instead of a hair tie, use a ribbon. Ribbons have sides, producing an infinity loop that shows two sides.
-
ASPECT B: THICKNESS
Line width can vary, which also helps to convey a loop! Again, I think we should be sticking to infinity loops when it comes to autistic/ND designs.
Option 1: Constant Thickness The lemniscate on the Metis flag has a constant line width, as does this neurodiversity rainbow gradient from 2016. I think we should avoid constant thickness.
-
Option 2: Variable Thickness A variable thickness can help to reinforce that an infinity symbol is a loop rather than a solid lemniscate. There are a lot of ways to play with line thickness!
Many neurodiversity infinities are variable thickness and I think we should opt for this to steer clear of Metis territory.
THIS WILL BE CONTINUED IN A SECOND POST (tumblr has a limit of 30 images per post)
But just in case the second post gets lost in reblogs: I think variable thickness, combined with a loop topology, is what we should be using for neurodiversity & autism. E.g.

Gotta say, the ASPD bunny is really off, especially in comparison to the other mental health plushies. I even went and looked over the mental health collection, and it’s such a contrast to the others. I’m sorry this isn’t a good representation of ASPD.
So I’d like to know. How would you redesign the plush to better represent you and others with ASPD?
Okay so I thought long and hard about this design, and consulted my fellow ASPD haver @zthesheep for a second opinion.
First off fuck the “bunny”. I like cats more. So it’s a cat.
Obviously I used the colors of the ASPD flag (flag design by @aspdsolace ) with the scale symbol. I wanted to keep the design cute and pleasing to look at, so I used the pinks/purples as accents. Every color of the flag is on the plush.
I wanted to use button eyes instead of detailed eyes because I wanted to stay true to the fact that people with ASPD don’t emote very well with their eyes (from personal experience, as well as self-reporting from others with the disorder). But without using the bead eyes that might be seen as creepy. Buttons are cute, and I honestly prefer them design wise in general.
The heart locket is my personal symbol for neurodivergence. I know the infinity symbol exists, but that’s most commonly associated with autism, and I don’t want to encroach on their symbolism, even if it is now associated with more. I thought about using an umbrella, but looking into it that’s apparently more a symbol for the LGBTQ+ community so same issue.
I like the locket because it’s supposed to symbolize a need for compassion as a key to understanding neurodivergent minds, especially since there’s so many different flavors of neurodivergency. Obviously the heart is supposed to reflect the compassion aspect of that. It’s also representative of the fact that many people who are neurodivergent are guarded of their emotions and tend to “lock a part of themselves away” in order to properly mask.
I wanted to put the symbol for ASPD on the back, somewhat “hidden” instead of the front since many people who have ASPD don’t know it, or don’t understand what it means, as well as the fact that in a public setting you won’t know someone has it or not unless they tell you or allow you to see those parts of themselves that the world thinks are “scary”, which leaves them vulnerable, and at risk of being stabbed in the back for showing someone the truth of themselves. So I wanted to put in on the spine, to symbolize that.
I also like the thought that people who don’t see the back may not understand what the plushie is supposed to represent because it’s hidden away, but those aware of the meanings will know regardless, representing other people with ASPD and people without that choose to inform themselves.
I made the face neutral/blank to show a lack of active emotion, many people with ASPD struggle to retain emotions in their full, and don’t have the energy to hold onto strong emotions long enough to properly experience them the way other people can. Many of our emotions are superficial, so it’s supposed to show someone with their metaphorical mask off, that’s trusting enough of the people around them to not force themselves to emote if they don’t have the energy. Many people with ASPD are constantly fighting emotional burnout just from trying to fit in, and everyone needs a safe space where they don’t have to pretend.
Overall this design was really fun, and I wouldn’t mind designing more of these mental health kitties. A friend told me they’d love to buy this if it was real, and maybe one day it could be. I’d love to have this little guy on my shelf.

Hi this is important news I think so I'm putting it here so it can be posted instead of just dming! Also because I'm scared of dming people.
I FOUND THE LIKE MINDS PLAYING CARD SET! Technically Reddit found it. I asked on a playing cards subreddit and someone knew somehow.
Over here http://a.trionfi.eu/WWPCM/decks07/d05524/d05524.htm It's the 5th row. It's listed as Sands & McDougal, an Australian company, and a different brand called Invicta. Either way, it's from the 30s. I tried to see if I could find any sales links but none of them show the backing sadly.
I only saw these, along with the original black one you posted, but if there's a black, blue, and red, then there's probably a green out there somewhere. I really hope this helps!!
Bless subreddits full of people with extensive knowledge on their special interests, and bless you for thinking of asking them! This is spectacular little bit of research, and thank you so much for sharing!
Ironically, I had that site (World of Playing Cards) bookmarked, but never thought of searching specifically for Australian cards. I did a little digging around after you sent this ask, and I found a few articles about this manufacturer, Sands & McDougall. They issued cards under several different brand names, including Invicta and Tiger. Tiger was part of their budget line, as evidenced by the court cards being rendered in two colors rather than four.
If anyone wants to play along at home, here are the links:
Sands & McDougall Sands & McDougall Court Cards Sands & McDougall Aces & Jokers Australian Court Cards (includes some Sands & McDougall designs)
In addition to the image you included above, here's another from the Tiger deck, c. 1935. Sadly no Jack of Spades example attached, but the style of the court cards--including the two color red and black theme--seems to fit the JS card used in the movie. I was really hoping to find that specific card because that Jack seems to have a rare version of the symbol that Nigel points out. I haven't found any other cards so far with that exact same design.
Sadly, I was unable to find this particular deck for sale on Ebay or Etsy at this time. (If I do, and it's reasonably priced, I absolutely WILL purchase it.)
Another image from the McDougall Aces and Jokers article gives us a sample of the green that might have been used on our deck. Although this sample is from a couple decades earlier, it seems like a good bet that the green version of the Tiger deck may have been the same or a similar shade.

Some individual images if anyone wants them.

It's very possible that the black backing I found originally is a photoshop job, given the extreme aging/parchmenty color of the white areas. Impossible to say until/unless we find an extant example of a black backed card or the image source itself.
To explain further re: the symbol I'm referring to ("it's written here, for eternity") as it appears on the film card:
And below is the style pulled from the same archive as the card backs linked above. The archive doesn't specify which deck this Jack is from, but comparing it with the movie card, the design is almost exactly the same--apart from the interlocking loops/infinity symbol.

Zooming in and sharpening the image a bit, it looks like perhaps the prop dept simply altered the existing card by sort of drawing over the top of the symbol, but there's always the possibility that a variant of the court card was used for that deck. I can see them wanting to really emphasize the connection between that symbol and the one for the order, and also to make it very clear on screen.
Fantastic work from @j4ck0fspades, I cannot thank you enough!
Final note: No one should ever be shy about DMing me (although I love asks too!) I am always happy to hear from anyone with questions, thoughts, resources, or requests. I'm glad you sent this as an ask though, since it allows me to include your original text as well.
