So I decided to restart my animal crossing new leaf for the 3ds file completely but I didn't know that Tom Nook would OFFER TO BUY the entire town and let you carry over the money to the new town and it's hysterical because the mayor basically peaces out, cashes in on 30 million bells, changes entire identity, and accidentally becomes the mayor in a new town. There's a fanfic there but I'm too lazy to write it.

#rose and rambles #HELLO????#i did not know that tom would offer to buy AND I DID NOT EXPECT MY TOWN TO BE WORTH 30 MILLION BELLS NOT INCLUDING MY CATALOGUE AND #THE INTEREST I'LL GET FROM GETTING THE BELLS IN INCREMENTS #MAKING THE FINAL TOTAL CLOSE TO 39 MILLION #WOWZER #okay also i did think long and hard about this #like i never have restarted that town #but it was overrun with flowers and i wasn't close to any of the villagers but wolf link #and i can get him again #i needed a blank slate #i do this with farming sims all the time #i restart so often because once i get into late game i have no gumption and animal crossing *is* different #but i really needed that fresh start and it felt better to restart new leaf than horizons #but the funny thing is #i now want to restart new horizons more than ever #i just haven't really touched it since 2020 #i never did the pumpkin growing thing im so behind #and every time i think about going back to it i just feel dead #but restarting new leaf has been so fun and refreshing #and its only end of day two BUT i have so much bells to burn on projects #so i can get the foundations of things like bridges and stuff right away and continue through my house loans more organically #idk i feel good #and i might prefer restarting horizons in the future with knowledge of things and #with all the updates already figured out #feels good #also my starter villagers in this new town are #fauna peanut eloise sparro and rooney and im so heckin thrilled #best line up ive ever had in the beginning

#tloz #ocarina of time #oot #zelda #my handwriting is very very bad so i actually added alt text/image description #which i should already be doing with everything anyway. i wanna go thru and update some old stuff with that too #but yeah anyway. all the stuff this series presents about being Fated To Be Something or Fated To End Up Somewhere #even if that thing or place is ultimately Horrible and the consequences primarily occur off camera or post-canon after the Happy Ending #characters who end the story with pretty much nothing and also you find out later they inadvertently cause a far worse disaster #than even the one they gave up everything to prevent #oot zelda’s infinite number of issues and almost guaranteed lack of happiness or normality for the rest of her life #even after ‘fixing everything’ in literally the best possible way she could figure out how. given everything she knew #and then blaming herself for accidentally allowing everything to go wrong in the first place. by trying to fix it #and she was literally just a kid going insane from prophetic visions while simultaneously being disbelieved by everyone around her #except impa but she’s a whole other situation entirely. with a whole other set of baggage on the other end of the spectrum #i just rambled sos so much oops. anyway yea oot zelda #its fine. i throw up when i think about her. its fine

I uh. Finished the first chapter draft for Ouroboros. Little sneak peaks below the cut I suppose.

#the ouroboros cycle #oh god. here we go #I like this sequence a lot for a few reasons #it’s just ambiguous enough that there’s some wiggle room for interpretation #lines can be twisted in one way by one person or another by a different one #I like when writing does that quite a bit #definitely gonna be editing this but here’s something out of the rough draft as a treat #since a lot of the plot is set out already in my other post I’m just gonna have to figure out how I want to shape the narrative effectively #kepler is a very layered character to me and he’s even more compelling because we still don’t know anything important about his past #which leaves the community to whip up whatever interpretation makes sense to us on a personal level #we’re given so much to work with for Kepler yet so little at once #we know his surface level traits and flaws already but we don’t know HOW he got to that point #ugh warren kepler #throwing bricks at him #probably should’ve asked this earlier in the tags but would you folk prefer fic updates on here or ao3 #or both #oh and before I forget #a lot of the story revolves around some pretty deep mental health struggles for a while #such as a disorder similar to dehumanization (not fully classifying it as such because there are some nuances that stray away from ->#some of the typical aspects of dehumanization disorder)#that’s one of the big ones but there will be others #which I’ll make note of before any content that contains anything of the sort (along with other tags that are featured)#I think that’s all for now #wolf 359 #w359 #warren kepler #daniel jacobi #isabel lovelace #renee minkowski #kepcobi

So I hit my 700th edit for the WHA wiki today, because I am a totally normal person

#For the record I have been there for. 27 days.#That makes an average of 26 edits a day which is even more terrifying because I definitely was not updating every day #Also this is for the Telepedia Wiki not the Fandom one #Anyway you should check it out!#In maybe a week because the website cache is super slow for some reason when you're not logged in #But I'm having fun #The nice thing about working on a wiki where there's actually other people doing stuff #Is that they can do the boring stuff like character bios and etc while I run around doing the fun stuff like pages on animals and plants #Anyway I was working on the Eldroxen page which are the big fluffy ox from the Silver Eve Procession #And it was so funny collecting info on them from the main series and then checking Kitchen real quick and SURPRISE! THEY'RE EATING IT!#I mean I should have expected this after having watched Dungeon Meshi and yet~~~#Also funny was that I copy+pasted the page coding for one the (food) animals as a template for this giant Mole-worm beast page but #forgot to remove the line about it being for food and afterwards had a laugh and then removed it #But now I'm like. They probably WOULD eat that sucker. Giant mole worm/snake/dragon thing? That'd feed a whole town!#Qifrey could have an entire audience watching how he'd prepare and season it #Anyway if you've been wondering where I've been that's it #Also funny story: during the Covid pandemic I stayed employed when my coworkers got let go because they needed me to catalogue an entire #new set of guided reading books; and have these sets have a digital checkout instead of the old-school card catalog we were literally still #using in 2020. Anyway I went all out with the organization of the books and the boxes and even made a reference binder for the books #via subject so teachers/tutors could find specific subjects and reading levels etc #(I'd have done a digital way to search for results but honestly half the teachers couldn't figure out how to sign in to the laptop. So.)#Anyway. Only a handful of teachers actually used these books and two years later the school switched to a new reading program #that came with its own set of books and lessons so this 10k reading set was essentially unneeded (and my dear coworkers never got rehired)#Anyway I learned last week that they're clearing out that room and all of those barely-used books are getting thrown out 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃#Isn't that funny #Literally everything is just sandcastles built in the surf #I'm so glad I already accepted this during my pumpkin carving years because otherwise I think I'd be upset #Anyway I'm gonna go play my spooky fishing game

I just love™ doing a collab event where I'm supposed to draw something for a fanfiction, but the writer won't share or write anything until the 3rd or 4th check-in at all.

If one doesn't have the time for it, they shouldn't participate.

Or at least they should communicate!

Artists have a schedule, too!

No writing, no art! We artists, too, need some time for a decent artwork and this is not my only project! Dx

There is time to finish everything till August. 2 months are more than enough to draw a decent piece.#But I'd also like to decide WHEN I wanna work on it!#The writers have nearly half a year if not more! The collab with artists started in April.#It's June now! And all I got are 3 sentences that are supposed to be a summary.#I'll don't even want to draw for this person's fic anymore. So now I hope they won't write till the end of june.#In my last check in I already stated that I'll drop out of this collab if there won't be any major update till the end of june.#Seriously. This isn't even a collab. It's a 'yey! I'm debating if it would just be easier to get a whole new phone/phone number and just have my grandpa cancel my line once I get it

#the thing is ive had this number since i got my first phone #so i would have to contact a LOT of places about the updated number #including: literally any job ive applied for. health insurance. uni. ALL online accounts that ask for phone number. friends. banks.#but on the other hand. i KNOW my grandpa will make it as difficult as possible #as in: i will have to do everything myself if he agrees to let me remove my number from the line #he will complain every second of having to unlock it #and i will have to spend hours with that man figuring out how to remove the number #meanwhile. i COULD just go down to a provider and ask about getting a new phone.#get a new phone/phone plan for myself (bc i dont wanna stay w this provider it sucks). and just tell him to cancel my line #i could transfer everything over after getting the new line/before he cancels my old one so if anything needs a verification i can do it #just fine - especially the uni and bank stuff #or maybe wait until my semester starts and i have a job already so that if i do have any issues transferring stuff #my uni tech help is more likely to be open and if i have a job i could easily update my resume and just like #contact whoever im working for with updating the number #i might just do that actually #it will suck getting a whole new number tho bc my current number is so easy and again ive had it for years so it is ingrained in my mind #amber's shit you can ignore

So I guess it's time to learn how to code custom script for google sheets. For this curriculum and instructional coach thing. Yep. Definitely aligns to what I was expecting from the nonexistent job description.

I'm cool with it, I like excuses to learn coding, but, like, feels a little funny, yanno?

#kite rambles #so the district has a gdrive for all the curriculum docs right #makes sense if you move from one school to another in the district you should be gettng roughly the same content #so shared drive? logical #except within that sharede drive /every single school has their own sets of ocuments/#some schools have litereally nothing #many schools have copy of (or copy of copy of) and there are so many duplicates #in th last week I hav been filling a spreadshet with links to everything so there's an easy visual way to see what exists #without going folder diving #ovre a thousand just in the middlee schools alone #anyway I also have ben putting a “last update” note next to those cells so we can glance and see th most recent version #cause if we'v got 5 Unit 3 blahblahs it'd b nice to know which one is. like. actually usseful #it occurrede to me today that I wanted to add month in addition to year so I had to go BACK to ones I already finished #becaus updated 2022-04 is very different from 2022-09 that's an entire school yar of potential updates #and THEN I realized #if someon updates a randomass file #the spreadsheet will not know #rendering all of this useless #so I'm going to figure out a way to add a function that will enter the last update of the file so it'll do that without hunting it down #thank you for your attendance to this short speech

So I may or may not have spent a good chunk of my day trying to learn how to look into onis code and while I may not have yet succeeded I will likely keep fucking around with shit tomorrow and if I manage to succeed it'll spell great doom for my sanity as oni becomes the interest I've officially poured the most effort into analyzing

#the crime boss was flaunting how she had the jedis guaest auarters on her planet bugged. also he came in 6th in a fencing tournament #which is damn good considering he way trying not to give himself away as a jedi during the festivities.#the second two are actually intertwined bc surana is working themself into a state over having taia and is already trying to figure out #how to get her to actual jedi in accordance with the familys wishes and evi is just like.well if theyre in danger lets just get the parents #also and take all of them to the temple so they can see it for themselves and make an informed decision and they wont be our problem #anyway also an old sith saber fell into feemors possession during this mission and heis having to babysit that until he can get it back to #the temple where it can be put in a vault lined with the equivalent of force-lead #i like when my dreams organically give me an update on what my ocs are doing. its like a postcard

#aughghhhhhh i thought i would be able to relax today!#no!#stressed about housing!#stressed about work because my coworker i really really liked working with is moving on and idk what that means for me and if i will #still be able to keep my job or not!!! i also don't know who replaces them and that makes me nervous! for understandable reasons!!!#also! i did not update my portfolio bc i got lazy and busy with work and now i'm scrambling to figure out how to get that all together #bc i need to be prepared if i DO get laid off or smth.... it's like 3 yrs out of date now.....#not my best day for the first time in a long long time #but mostly bc the housing stuff is stacked with work worries now which is not fun give me 1 issue at a time please #personal stuff #worst bit is if i get let go idk if i can find another job in my current role esp not here where i live #esp bc even if it wasn't a bad year already for my kind of work it was already tough when it wasn't a bad year for ppl in my role
