1. Yes, Sonic knew something was off for a long time and actively chose to hide it from his friends when it started to get truly painful. It’s a bit of an awkward situation because on one hand, even if he had approached them, it’s not like he could’ve just stopped hero-ing. But the fact that even if he’d just checked in with Tails when it started to get concerning instead of just ignoring it is rough to realize, especially for the blue one. Hindsight is 20/20

Normally Shadow wouldn’t be worried because (snatching @acoraxia’s hc about chaos users being able to sense each other because it’s delightful and i like it) Sonic’s always had enough chaos energy for him to track pretty much no matter where he is. But with the inhibitor cutting off the flow of chaos from entering Sonic’s body which means he’s basically invisible to him right now. So he doesn’t actually have a way to track him down.

3. Tails holds all of the forbidden knowledge and says approximately 49% of it out loud. On the bright side the circles under his eyes calmed down because he got to nap in pt 12!

SO, something I see a lot when it comes to shadow shipping (mainly with Sonadow and Shadamy) is that the S/O wouldn't work because they "remind Shadow too much of Maria." Personally, I've always head cannoned that Cream was most like Maria (which obviously wouldn't be a shadow s/o) but really you could make that statement with any of the characters since until Shadow Gens we didn't have too much to go on in terms of Maria's character outside of hazy amnesia impaired memories... SO THATS WHY I MADE THIS COMIC!
