Lil MLP Au for yet another Wizart Animation property xD and again, like the SMCA one, it's also a slight rewrite of the movies.

I have to still write down the thoughts of my head but I thought I'd share the art before it becomes old [did them in earlier this year].

Also, doodle of Gerda with Luta and Orm cause I love them as a trio ;v;!

this was born after a dialogue with a friend:

- if the snow king and gerda fought!

- how the snow king would start to press with all his weight on the staff, hanging over and mockingly smiling, and Gerda, very nervous, already seems to be losing and bites his nose

Moss wizard what is your favorite spell and what is your most used spell?

I dont feel much need to learn offensive spells for the most part, so I lean towards more practical and defensive spell-casting.

My favourite, and most used, is Fog cloud!

I use it at least once every few days, sometimes more.

It helps me stay under the radar if im somewhere dangerous, or just dont want to be bothered by other adventurers in my travels.

Plus, fog is just a condense water mist! So it keeps me hydrated and healthy.

A more or less detailed description of Dark!Gerda's appearance and her role in the plot. Just in time!

At first, just like with Orm's frozen evil version, Dark!Gerda was supposed to simply be the opposite of her normal self. And even now I'm still having a bit of trouble deciding on her origins. Maybe she was created directly by the Snow King as he froze her, similar to Lake Gao's curse. Or maybe she's a separate character for a reverse!AU which follows the story of Gerda and Dark!Gerda instead of a SK and Orm. Guess you can interpret it how you deem more enjoyable!

In any case Dark!Gerda represents such Gerda's traits as loneliness, burden of responsibility/early adulthood, the pain of losing her parents, which she still hasn't come to terms with. Since Dark!Gerta is the result  of Lake Gao's curse, she's motivated by anger, sternness and narcissism - traits that are extremely unusual for her character.

In Orm's case it was pretty clear that the lake punished him for his unfulfilled oath, however, Gerda is trapped in her own fears, which results in her Dark!version embodying them and her hopelessness.

But again, since Dark!Gerda is the curse of Lake Gao, she will blindly, without understanding or reflecting on herself, insist on pursuing a goal similar to Snow King's - to cover everything with ice. The reason? There's none. She only cares that in any case suffering will come to the cursed one. A. k.a. herself, with her body turned into ice. There will be nothing left, except for a couple of her friends and her brother. There will be no future, because she doesn't know how to live in it.

This is Gerda's fear. If only she had enough strength she'd be able to face it, but the curse drove her into this manic state of mind leaving a permanent mark.

Kai Headcanons

I don't remember, when and why I wrote that, so I'm posting them, so I can erase it from my file.

Kai:

Kai learned painting at his first orphanage.

Kai was sent to a new orphanage as the previous one got closed.

Kai knew he had a sister, but never realized how the one girl in the new orphanage resembled his real sister.

Kai is sad he has to draw behind the people’s back because the housemaster is a jerk.

Kai practiced most of the times out on the village.

Kai likes spring and autumn, because of its colors.

Kai feared Alfida’s teasing, cause he thought she bullied him. In reality, she liked him and didn’t know how to confess it.

Kai asked Gerda about Alfida’s feelings for him but refused to speak directly to Alfida about his feelings.

Kai with the time got frustrated as he and Gerda’s life as „street kids“ was getting harder.

Kai hoped to follow a different path with Gerda for a better life.

Kai despises Rollan at first glance, cause he stole away Gerda’s attention.

Kai feared to lose Gerda to Rollan.

When Gerda mentioned Rollan’s possible redemption, Kai would list down how terrible Rollan was easily.

Kai finds his magic powers shorty, when he’s reunited with his parents.

Kai learned to impress Alfida by making paintings.

New animatic!!!

As I already mentioned in description, this animatic based on a cartoon “Snow Queen: Fire and Ice” by Wizart Animation (now Voronezh Animation Studio). And the music in video is intro from Villain (1) by Theory of a Deadman.

I did this animatic for practice and for fun.

It’s a stereotypical moment when a character turns out to be a villain and tells a hero their backstory.

Wizart’s Snow Queen, while not the best, is also a far more faithful adaptation that happens to also come from Russia. Just find the subbed version because I’m not sure the dub actually understood the plot, it felt very piecemeal and disconnected on how they translated it.

Wizart (now Voronezh) is a small studio comprised of newer animators. Russia generally hadn’t been supporting animation when they established themselves so their Snow Queen was considered a giant success for Russian animation and nearly doubled its budget (7 million in USD, very low for animation nowadays).

Edit: Also it happened to release the same year as Frozen and people on tumblr accused it of being a cheap ripoff, so go spend a few bucks to support a small studio that’s trying to bring back animation in Russia.
