Laxus: How did the entire guild find out you’re gay? I thought you were keeping it a secret
Freed: Evergreen asked me if there’s a girl I like and apparently I “made a face”
Freed: I’m always making a face so I don’t really understand what she meant

i feel with lesbians, and im allowed to say this because im a lesbian, but honestly the punishment of individual lesbians is almost incidental compared to the fact its literally about making an example out of us. its like theres a potential lesbian in every woman and thats really who is being punished. straight women’s fear of acquiring that status VASTLY outweighs my actual lived discomfort as a lesbian. so much of the homophobia i experience stems from the perceived impossibility of my existence and the need to present me as repulsive, not directly to punish ME but to make other women afraid of being like me. so arguing like who would specifically be perceived as a lesbian in what situation feels so shallow when literally every woman is on some level perceived as like. a threat of hypothetical lesbian possibility

Freed is 100% meant to be gay but Laxus I'm a little perplexed about. I'd say 85%.

Human!Impala flirts with Dean this, Human!Impala is a guy that, Dean's Fucking His Car blah blah blah but CONSIDER INSTEAD:
Human!Impala is a permanent thing (they were a shapeshifter trapped as a car), Baby presents almost entirely as female, Baby is EXTREMELY hot, every bit the conventionally hot, busty, country-western playboy model "beautiful woman" that early-seasons Dean would have described her as
...Baby is a complete disaster lesbian and takes over early-seasons-Dean's role as "the one who brings a different random girl home ever night"

was listening to NPR this afternoon.
the way that women's trauma is used for political purposes is wholly disturbing. Israel calling upon the UN because the UN claims to be a champion of women's rights. What a joke. No country in this world is a bastion for women's rights, because every country was developed under a patriarchy.
Women's suffering is going to be used to try and further push the UN into complacency. Which will ultimately cause even more suffering for the women in girls in Israel and Palestine alike.

Don't blame me for creeping on the tags, but your high school had an art major for artists???
American schools don't do the major system, but mine had... a way to encourage people to pursue what they like.
You had your core curriculum, which was 42 credits (7 credits per semester possible, 56 credit max possibility if you graduated on time).
Study halls were 0 credits, and for me they were mandatory every semester (Latin was taught at one of the district's 2 high schools, and they'd bus the students back to their main school after, so you had to have a study hall to make up for being late), so my cap was 48 credits.
But those extra 14 credits you could fill by taking extra classes. Math, computer science, science, art, history, band, choir, woodworking, 4H, homebuilding, economics, language- even the phys ed nerds could take weightlifting and such.
So in a way, you could think of it as having a major, but it was just extra classes that you could take within whatever interested you.

One of these days I will write about the nuances of The Black Church and how it acted both as a force for good; providing food, shelter, and community to those in need from slavery onward, and as a force for destruction, actively treating drug addicts and LGBT people as diseases and cutting them off from that sanctuary. I should do it at my most powerful (Now during BHM) but alas.....
