"He went down to the peoples of the past." The descent into hell to redeem the peoples of the past is a descent of profound Sophianic beauty. It is an act that reconnects the ancestral traditions with those of later times in a timelessly affirmative way.
The sacred marriage of Christ with [the] Mistress of the Earth and its unbreakable laws, is enacted in the earth's dark places. Christ, as the emblem of Compassion, offers up his own flesh for the sake of all living flesh.
He is laid in the tomb, entering the dark realm of Sophia Nigrans, who is guardian of the densest kernel of creative matter... He embraces her outcast darkness...and it is in their embrace that the spark of Resurrection is enkindled.
It is not only Christ who descends to the depths of hell, for Wisdom says of herself [in Sirach 24:45]: "I will penetrate to all the lower parts of the earth, and will behold all that sleep, and will enlighten all that hope in the Lord."
When Christ ascends, marked with the undying sign of his earthly sufferings, it is because Sophia has said to him, "Keep these wounds for my sake."
Wherever the Goddess of Wisdom has walked, there too are her teachings... Sophia descends to the last foundations of the earth and then begins her ascent. The resurrection is proclaimed and the Holy Spirit descends as tongues of fire upon the assembled people.

god no but the blind faith in eddie's expression when buck comes out of chris' room kills me. it's buck. he's the guy who likes to fix things. but more than that he's christopher's buck. he's his kid's safe space when eddie can't be that for him. he's his confidant. he's his best friend and maybe a little more. he's eddie's last hope and you can see in his eyes that he never really considered the possibility that buck could fail here. you can literally see his reality crumbling on his face when buck comes out of christopher's room utterly defeated and shakes his head. and then you watch it dawn on him, the guilt take over as he realises he's fucked up so badly that even buck can't fix it.

Hi u probably have so many asks but whats up with carlos only having two bloody fingers? this is the coolest piece if art I have ever seen but that detail is making me go crazy
the two bloody fingers are there show how carlos is aware of his wound, he has touched it, perhaps delved his own fingers into it, and still looks on ahead and stands strong. There is also the level of sexual imagery that comes with stabbing + wound openings, and my choice to use the imagery of wound fingering here was deliberately to evoke that. The sword is him "getting fucked" by ferrari and indirectly charles, and his fingering of the wound is an acknowledgment of what has happened and perhaps a weak attempt to take back the power as the one "doing the fucking"
