Wisps of Smoke Teaser
For a very future chapter of Wisps of Smoke and Colourful Souls (khr/hp; future Harry/Reborn; Soulmate!AU)
The little bit of awareness he had gotten back disappears completely as he’s drowned in a wave of pure, unadulterated hate. He gathers his energy, his will, his magic, and he’s just about to do… something with his Flames that he will never be able to take back, when a sense of calmness crashes into him as if from above, merging into his agitated Flames and sinking into his core.
The white noise fades, little by little, and he blinks, feeling a little drowsy and out-of-sorts. He’s being held. By who?
“Are you okay there, Harry?” a known voice asks, and Harry squints as he tries to focus on the blurry face hovering over him. Nice hair, strong eyebrows, brown eyes—
“Cedric?” he asks, frowning. His voice comes out all wrong and slurry.
“Sorry, sorry. This is—I did something, but I’m not sure what, and now you and that,” he looks nervously to the side, and Harry remembers there was someone else there with them, “that man are kinda sleepy? Well, no, you are, he’s out cold, and—”
“Cedric. Ced.” Harry blinks quickly, trying to wake up his brain. His eyes finally focus and he can see Cedric’s expression, full of fear and confusion and determination, and there, barely visible around him, a shuddering hint of blue.

I’ve been stuck for a while without being able to write anything and then today I said: “well, let’s just make them do something that wasn’t in the plans” and TADAH! I’ve written!
Also, have a cosplaying!Reborn from a future WSCS chapter:
“Oh, good,” Renato says, and Harry turns to look at him. He gapes again as he finds the man dressed like any wizard Harry had seen back in Diagon in his first visit to the place, robes and pointy hat included. When did he have the time to change? And why the fake mustache?! “Then my sources were accurate. What do you see, Harry?”

A Stern Business Plan Keeps Thriving
By: Tanner Simkins
It has certainly been a challenging year for all of us involved in sports business, but as we turn the corner and see the NBA returning, the NHL getting close to starting, the NFL coming down the home stretch and so many other leagues, teams and brands pointing ahead to a better 2021 and beyond, it is worthwhile to think for a second and wonder “What David would have thought about this year.”
The David we refer to is David Stern, the late NBA Commissioner who was enjoying such an amazing and innovative second act when he was taken from all of us. We raise it this week as it was a year ago when Stern, while at a lunch in Manhattan, collapsed suddenly and never regained consciousness.
In his post NBA days Stern, along with veteran business colleagues like John Kosner and Harvey Schiller, was more curious and engaged than at perhaps any point in his storied career, especially with a host of young, disruptive and innovative companies that he had taken under his wing and was mentoring along with others. It is many of those companies, and those mentees, who have and will make up Stern’s legacy for years to come, and many of them, even in these toughest of times, have thrived, grown, and like the best NBA and WNBA players he knew as commissioner, were able to pivot and succeed.
“Mr. Stern’s legacy must include the personal and financial investments he made in a dozen or so companies, and countless individuals who are already making an impact on the future of media and sports. Not only did he back the right entrepreneurs, but he also spent a great deal of time guiding startups such as ours, for which he was much more than an investor. A relationship with him automatically enrolled you in a crash course in negotiation, diplomacy, marketing, leadership, and empathy — “Stern training,” were the words from one of those innovator’s, Miheer Walavalkar, CEO of Livelike, in this week’s Sports Business Journal.
Another one of those companies, ShotTracker, which is doing for a majority of large NCAA basketball programs, was also in the news last week when another Stern ally for decades, former IBM and NFL executive Bill Moses joined on as CEO, helping co-founder and President  Daveyon Ross, also a Stern mentee, with growing their business well into 2021 and beyond.  “It is a pleasure to join the ShotTracker team to help advance the commercial business opportunities of one of the most innovative and transformative companies in the data and technology side at the NCAA level,” Moses said last week. “The foundation partnerships with some of the most elite colleges and universities have been built, and we are now ready to push forward with growing that base and expanding the commercial and tactical opportunities in basketball and in other sports with a host of new partners coming on line in the months ahead.”
Then there was Overtime Sports, another digital disruptor and first adopter in bringing highlights of high school rising star athletes to the phones of millions of young people, a business, co-led by Zack Weiner, which continues to grow and recently added a partnership with the NBA G League to their portfolio. “He was still demanding in a positive way, trying to get the best out of me, but always with a sweet and nice touch,” Weiner told Sporttechie this past year. “From there, it very quickly developed into a relationship where it was mentorship but it also, honestly, felt like friendship.”
There also was WSC Sports, an Israeli based company which uses AI to customizes highlight video for some of the world’s biggest leagues, and during the Pandemic expanded more into China, something Stern would be proud of, through a partnership with Tencent.
“The word “unique” is often over-used in the PR world and in sports. But one thing that is for sure as it relates to the legacy of the late, great David J. Stern, the greatest of sports Commissioners. Everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE, had a very “unique” relationship with Stern. Why? Because he wanted it that way,” added Terry Lyons, who worked with Stern at the NBA for several decades and is now a Boston based entrepreneur in his own businesses, including a new digital golf news startup that is coming out in January.
That relationship, likes everyone’s was surely unique, had its ebbs and flows, ups and downs but was always based on the following, which is his legacy, I believe, Lyons continued.
1. Work hard and the reward for working hard is more work.
2. Think it through, then think it through again.
3. Pay attention to details.
4. Work and solve the problem. (Often and preferably before anyone even knew there was a problem!)
5. While we’re doing all this hard work, we better have some fun and enjoy the people we’re around for 12-24+ hours a day!
My calls to him for advice, however important or, more often, a simple question, were always met with an immediate, drop-everything helping hand. It was great and he was always there - good times and bad. I could count on him and I knew he recognized the loyalty to him and the NBA and he could count on me.”
Those are just a snippet of the people Stern impacted throughout his second act, some of which tied to relationships that came from the NBA days.
Sports is usually a business of clear results; you win or you lose, a zero sum game., at least on the field of play. However on the business side it is much more marathon not sprint, and in so many dealings people had with “The Comish” in his later in life role it was that long game, and the new relationships he cherished. Those relationships in tough times, and the lessons taught and learned, are even more valuable today, and it is clear that legacy will continue to grow and thrive as we turn a corned and head back to the light.
Keep scoring, it’s what David Stern would have required and wanted for all those around him.

There's an elaborate construction in the living room when Bucky goes in. The teeth of his key are still shiny and new, and he still usually gives a courtesy knock, but it's been a long three days with him being interviewed with Natalia and the WSC and Clint at a corporate retreat of all fuckin' things. He's been training little baby SHIELD agents - 'cos that's pretty much all they have left - to make their own weapons and survive in the woods, and Bucky has honestly half been expecting a phone call, an alert, something apocalyptic. At least a broken limb, Clint falling out of a tree, *something*. He does such a good impression of incompetence sometimes that it's kinda a jolt to remember that he's a skilled agent, that he's lethal, that when you take a second to look past the band-aids he's also hot as all hell. Not that Bucky's been thinking about starry eyed recruits, nights under the stars, shared cans of mosquito spray... Okay. Tangent. Fuck. There's an elaborate construction in the living room when Bucky goes in. One end looks like it started out as a pillow fort but swiftly ran out of blankets. There's a tarp pinned to the kitchen counter with a couple arrows, a bungee cord over the stair rail that's holding up a corner improbably woven out of clothes, a baseball bat held up with stacks of frozen bruise-peas to hold open the entrance. (Clint has a whole drawer in his freezer for bruise-peas, cos he says he got used to them young and doesn't like how ice packs feel. It's the kinda little snippet that Clint lets out sometimes that makes you roll your eyes and then, when it sinks in a little further, want to fuckin' burn something to the ground.) There's a jingle of dog tags from somewhere inside the structure and then Lucky races out from inside, knocking down the baseball bat door jamb and rearing up against Bucky, his tail wreaking havoc with the blanket roof. "Aw hell," a voice says. "Bucky? Nat? Little help?" (Bucky can't think too hard about the fact that he's one of only two people trusted with a key. They're friends, and he's grateful that they're friends, and that's where the train of thought has gotta run out of steam.) "The hell are you up to?" Bucky says, and he can hear the stupid damn smile in Clint's voice. "Buck! You're back!" "I texted you all of ten minutes ago," he says, and the blanket fort projects an air of sheepish. "Yeah, my phone's in a tree somewhere. Squirrel attack." Bucky shakes his head and ducks down to greet Lucky, scratching behind his ears before pushing him aside so he can attempt to recreate the entrance to this thing. "You're kind of an idiot, Barton," he says, and Clint - somewhere under blankets and tarpaulin and at least three of Bucky's sweaters - starts laughing. "You don't know the half of it." Bucky crawls inside the rickety entrance he's made. It's darker than he'd've thought, warm and close and a little musty. Clint's tucked up against the couch-wall with his knees pulled up to his chest, and his eyes gleam in the dimness. "So tell me," Bucky says. He tries to arrange himself next to Clint but the ceiling's pitched oddly and he's got to get right in close, an awkwardness of limbs in the darkness that somehow ends up with Clint's fingers folded around his and not letting go. "Okay," Clint says, "story time." Bucky takes a breath, clint-scented air, and adjusts their hands so they're entangled more securely. If he has his way, he's never lettin' go.

Are You A SEO Expert? Then Never Forget These Important HTML Tags
ags have a very important role to play in on-site search engine optimization. Tags have been developed with the objective of classifying content so that it is easier for the users and the search engines to understand the degree of importance each specific piece of content carries. But the real question that is plaguing the minds of marketers these days is: are HTML tags as vital today as they once were?
Well, answer this simple question, what’s the use of a website with a great design and a great website copy, if people can’t find the website? “Null”. Some researchers in their studies have found out that 93% of online experiences begin with a search engine.
Tumblr media
But, but, but… how will visitors visit your website when you are not even harboring somewhere near the first-page result of Google?
So companies pay Google to place their company ad at the top of the search engine result pages when companies Google for certain keywords.
Tumblr media
But, again, paid searches do not garner the type of traffic a company looks for when they opt for paid ads.
So with the surge of new and pronounced studies, it is revealed that organic ads get 70% more results than paid ads. (HubSpot)
Tumblr media
So companies again thought the better of it and found out that in order to generate more traffic it is important to rank organically.
How? With the only language the SEO understands- TAGS
The company that has mastered SEO services in Phoenix, Arizona will tell you about important HTML tags briefly.
Title Tag
HTML title tag is arguably the most important and quintessential on-page SEO factor when it comes to increasing the website traffic. Think of titles as the chapter of your website, it needs to be clearly defined and compelling. Title tags help visitors as well as search engines to decide what your website is all about, the content you are displaying and what each page is trying to tell.
Title Tag Code: <title>WSC™:: Website Designing Company in Delhi | Website Designing India</title>
Tumblr media
It is important to incorporate keywords that you target with your content in your title tag since they end up as links to your web page.
Meta Description Tag
Meta description tags give a brief snippet about your website to the users so that they can understand what you do and what your website provides with those 150 character summary. They appear just below the blue clickable links known as Title Tags in a search engine result page (SERP). If your website has a compelling Meta Description, it will not only help you rank higher on Google, but it will also sell the “click” with an appealing copy.
Tumblr media
Needless to say, the keyword that you have used in the title tag must also be used in the Meta description, so that the search engines can easily understand what your site is all about.
Header Tag
Header tag refers to the HTML attribute that is used to distinguish headings and subheadings within your content from other types of text. There are several different header tags. On the basis of your website format, you may have h1, h2, h3 and sometimes h4 and h5 tag. These tags usually display the relevancy and important each word or phrase has on the website page and can effectively help your search engine rankings.
Header Tag Code: <article>
                                        <header>
                                              <h1>Most important heading here</h1>
                                              <h3>Less important heading here</h3>
                                              <p>Some additional information here</p>
                                      </header>
                                      <p>Lorem Ipsum dolor set amet....</p>
                              </article>
 To be continued….

☵ If only it were sleep
A The Avengers (Marvel Movies) Fan Fiction by Noctemus. Can be read on: @AO3
Characters: Nick Fury Rating: PG
Disclaimer: I do not own the characters portrayed herein. This is for fan enjoyment only and no profit gained nor sought.
Thank you BdrixHaettC for going over this little snippet.
Summary: Nick Fury takes a moment.
☵ If only it were sleep - 1/1
☳ ☼ ☳
“We will fix this, you crazy ass motherfucker.”
Nick Fury for the most part liked his job, he excels at it and even takes a sadistic pleasure in kicking ass and obliterating threats one way or another. Leading one of the most powerful organizations on Earth and being in charge of equally competent and dangerous individuals that make up a lot of the SHIELD personnel was in some ways a thrill all on its own. There are aspects to the job though that he could do without. Dealing with the World Security Council is at the top of his list of things he has to grudgingly tolerate.
Rare are those days when he can genuinely say that he hates his job.
Looking down at the man lying still on the bed, Nick can honestly say that the days he does hate his job it almost always comes down to WSC. Fucking politics and fucking Council of stupid ass men and women. The thought flickers viciously through his brain.
Days like these, he really wouldn’t mind joining agent Romanov on the field and do some wet work himself, fuck appearances, and fuck procedures.
Nick presses his thumb over his eye. Rubbing, still feeling the minute tremors that don’t seem to want to stop ever since he stepped foot in the room.
Forcing himself to look back down on the still form he clenches his fists at his sides. It takes effort but Nick wills his hands to relax before placing one hand against the man’s sternum, below the arc-reactor, moving in tandem as the air is pushed into the struggling lungs, his dark hand stark against the white sheet.
“You just had to know better.” The words are quiet, barely discernible over the rhythmic sounds of the life support yet they seem like a curse. “Never wrong, huh? Fuck you Stark. Fuck you and all your math.”
“Sir?” the cautious request makes Fury look up and he turns around his hand going back to his side. Coulson is standing at the edge of the door, eyes firmly on the director.
Mentally wrapping himself in the role of his position Fury asks, expectant, voice steady even if it is done by the skin of his teeth, “Any news?”
Fury knows the answer before Coulson says a word as the other man shakes his head.
"He hasn’t come back yet.”
For the briefest of moments Fury allows his shoulder to slump, hiding nothing of the weariness he feels. He should know better than to pin his hope on a god. Life was a bitch and she seems especially keen to never let the stubborn boy ever catch his breath.
“He will come back Sir,” Coulson says, stepping into the room. “We just need to give him a little more time.”
Looking back to the prone figure Fury shakes his head. Stark was deteriorating, alarmingly fast. Faster than had been predicted to the point that the only reason his body was still alive was that it was being maintained by the machines vigorously controlled and maintained by Jarvis.
Even if Thor succeeded, in what state would the body be in? How damaged would it be? Perhaps it would be kinder to just let the body die. He knows Stark would prefer that over ever being kept in a vegetated state.
He doesn’t voice his thoughts but Coulson must have read it because he repeats entreatingly. “He will come back.”
The choice, in either case, Nick muses, is out of his hands. Jarvis, if not the others, would make sure Fury would be in no position to ‘pull the plug’. He was under no illusion that Tony Stark’s AI wouldn’t inflict a swift and brutal retaliation if he even tries.
Rubbing the back of his neck, Fury shakes his head. Turning towards Coulson Nick says as he stops next to him, “Time is exactly what we don’t have.”
He doesn’t need to look back to know that Coulson makes an aborted move towards the bed before turning on his heels and follows Fury out what was currently the most secure place in SHIELD, if not the world.
As Fury straightens out his coat, the thought crosses his mind almost like a prayer: Hurry Thor, we are losing him.
In the room, the arc-reactor remains a steady glow in the dark as the heart monitor continues to beep steadily, unchanging, and Jarvis continues to hum to make sure his creator is never alone, in the corner Dummy adds his own.
The End.

7-7-7 WIP Game
Go to your current WIP. Find the seventh line on the seventh page and copy and paste seven sentences below. Then tag seven other writers to do the same.
(Because it sounded fun, so why not?)
From the rewrite of Wisps of Smoke and Colourful Souls I started in January!
And the second, well. The incident at the zoo during Dudley’s birthday convinced Renato it couldn’t be Flames, because if there was any kind of Flame that gave their users ability to talk to animals—or snakes, whatever—the fact would be already widely known in the underworld.
So Renato was pretty sure that Harry’s abilities did not rely on Dying Will Flames at all, and had accepted that fact long before the boy’s birthday arrived.
That’s probably the only reason why he isn’t overly surprised when Harry lets him know the night of July thirty-first that a suspicious letter had arrived for him that morning, claiming that he is a wizard and that he has been enrolled in a school for magic.
Magic, of all things.
“And what did you do?” he asks, curious about the way Harry handled the situation.
“Um,” Harry says sheepishly.

Last Line Tag Game
I was tagged by @myakkoh and they got me writing becuse I haven’t written anything that wasn’t a translation since September, so, thanks?? Maybe I’ll actually start working on my fics again :’D
So, he kind of owed him his freedom—not that Harry will ever tell the elf so, not while he’s still trying to maim or kill him “for his own good.”
Tagging: whoever wants to do the thing! Just blame me (?)
