this has been on my mind for a while, so i’m just going to... say it. zitao and yifan had more main rapper potential than chanyeol did, let alone sehun/kai & the lead rapper position. none of the five were especially talented rappers upon debut, but you can compare the korean and chinese versions of growl (chanyeol + kai v. zitao) / overdose (chanyeol + sehun v. yifan) to see what i’m talking about. sm chose to push the korean rapline, despite their lack of true talent in that department. they’re not untalented and that definitely isn’t what i’m saying, but the company’s bias stifled their vocal talents AND taoris’ rap abilities. because you know what? after exo blew up, they definitely had the range and the fan base to put two chinese members at the forefront without losing a detrimental amount of followers. they could’ve been THAT group, but instead sm chose to debut a talented pair of rappers only to refuse to let them truly rap on a track that wasn’t chinese. yes, there was that language barrier, but if the company cared and had any respect for their foreign idols, they would’ve paid more time and attention to helping them better their korean skills, at least enough to let them... i don’t know... do their job? and guess what? they grew into the talented, amazing ass rappers i knew they would, with or without the company’s push

“I found this strange cigarette brand on the ground and I remembered that Seunghyun smoke these.”

“I’m more concerned that he was here.” He looked up “Jiānbing okay?”

“Sure.” You gave him a small smile. You loved Chinese food, but not that greasy fast food everyone sold on the street, no, you loved the real one.

You gulped and opened it. Silence rested in the air when you started reading the words over and over again, not believing what they really said.

“What the fuck-“ you didn’t swear often, usually you had yourself under control but this time it was your first instinct reaction and Kris stopped with his cooking immediately. He knew it must have been bad. “Yifan, they…” you swallowed the tears but you couldn’t form a proper sentence, your mind was going wild and you started to shiver uncontrollably.

Kris, hearing his birth name, immediately placed himself behind you to support your body, he was scared that you could faint and fall of the stool. Then he started reading the document. Halfway he started laughing because it was so ridiculous what they accused you of: “Defamation of the character Choi Seunghyun and his reputation.”

“I’ll kill him…” he whispered more to himself and felt your tears on his bare chest. Kris turned the stool so you could face him and softly grabbed your face with his hands “Honey, don’t worry, he can’t pull this through! Think about it: there is no evidence and also, you aren’t the crazy stalker in this story, he is! And you have evidence and testimonies that he harassed your over weeks. Darling, baby…” he whispered and you buried your crying face in his chest.

After a while you calmed down and snuggled yourself in the soft cushions of the sofa while watching some TV. Kris continued cooking but whenever you glanced towards him, he seemed as in trance- completely cut from reality with an empty stare.

Kris preferred to handle it himself instead of hiring men for dirty work, but Y/N didn’t know of his “second business” and he was eager that it should stay that way. So, he called Hector- a very convincing guy or in different words: a contract killer.

Even though Kris just wanted to blow Seunghyun’s brain out, he needed to talk to him first and try to solve the problem in a peaceful way, after that Hector could do whatever he wanted to do. Kris knew that he preferred knifes.

“Kris?” Y/N’s voice brought him back to reality and he turned around, shocked to see that she had his phone in her hand with the display showing the name of his assigned killer. “Who is Hector?”

Kris hated lying, especially to Y/N, but he didn’t want her to be part of this side of his life. It was way too dangerous. “What did he say?” he avoided her question and casual leaned against the kitchen counter.

“That you offered him a job… as the new sound technician.”

“Oh yeah? I will talk to him.” He took his phone and caressed her cheek “Don’t worry, he’s an old…friend.”

Y/N watched as he walked outside of the balcony, irritated that he suddenly spoke Chinese when this Hector spoke perfect English. Maybe he just felt more comfortable speaking his native language or Y/N shouldn’t understand what it was about…

Kris walked up and down the balcony, listening to Hector’s plan and here and there agreeing with a small “Hmm”. His eyes caught sight of Y/N who watched him from inside. He gave her a small smile and rolled his eyes in acted annoyance to symbolize that the person on the other line was talking too much. Y/N smiled back and then walked away.

“So, you’re saying that everything is set?”

“Méi cuò.” (Yes, it is)

“Dàhǎo…” (very good) Kris mumbled back “Okay, I will call you again. First, I have to talk to this prick, then we can act.”

Kris hung up and for a few minutes he just stared into the foggy city, he was sure that soon it would start to rain. Seunghyun was a thorn for Kris, it started when he interfered in Kris’ business a few years ago, since then he was on his radar and since then he wanted to kill him. But he didn’t do it because he saw the most beautiful woman on Seunghyun’s side: Y/N. Kris fell in love for the very first second, he saw her, and after the nasty break up he was there for her, just as a friend at first but soon she started to feel the same for him and moved on.

He knew from the beginning that Seunghyun was persistent but what Seunghyun didn’t know was that Kris himself was the stubborn type.
