The way fans on the st sub are almost all in agreement Nancy ending up with neither Jon nor Steve wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, and how they can even come up with a sleuth of reasons as to why, honestly pretty valid and fair reasons, but then are absolutely gobsmacked when fans merely speculate something along those lines for El is, quite something.

the thing about izzy hands is that when we thought he died the first time he was just the bad guy, an asshole, i wasn’t that upset, i liked him as an antagonist but wasn’t someone i’d cry over. but then he went through all that healing - physically and emotionally, and he became a better person and finally accepted his feelings for ed, the crew as his family, his queerness. regardless whether i think his death was rushed bc we only got 8 episodes (it was) when he actually died it was so impactful and i’m so devastated because we could have had so much more time with him

yeah the writers thought they came to the end of his story, but really they just couldn’t use him as an antagonist anymore and that’s what makes me sad more than anything. we could have seen his backstory, how he became a pirate, past adventures, him growing with the crew, captain of the revenge…
