The eerie yellow brick road of abandoned “Land of Oz” theme park in North Carolina [2592x3888]

Scarecrow is singing Fancy Girl, the opening credits theme song of Ozu no Mahōtsukai, the Wizard of Oz anime series. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it in the news posts before, but I'm not going to go back and check.

It adapted the first 3 books and also the 6th book. The only official translation is a dub which butchered the first few episodes and only covered the first two storylines, so I'd recommend finding a fan sub if you can.

Happy Kansas Day! Let's face it - when someone thinks of Kansas, their first thought is The Wizard of Oz. :D So with that in mind, I had to do something for my state's birthday. I happened to have this dress, shirt, shoes, and doll in my collection, so I went with a more anime theme for Dorothy. :)

Okay, I don't usually time myself while drawing these pages, but one of my roommates informed me that I spent over 12 hours on just the first panel.

O_O;

So, anyway, background cameos include:

Some fairy beavers (John Dough and the Cherub), the Woozy (The Patchwork Girl of Oz), some Bunnyburians (The Emerald City of Oz), an ork (The Scarecrow of Oz), a kalidah (The Wonderful Wizard of Oz), the zebra and the softshell crab (The Emerald City of Oz), a winged monkey (The Wonderful Wizard of Oz), Professor Grunter Swyne (The Tin Woodman of Oz), Mickey Mouse (Plane Crazy by Ub Iwerks and some other guy), the siamese cat that Toto chases at the end of the 1939 MGM film, and some field mice (various Oz books).

The alligator, squirrel, king snake, and 7 birds aren't from anything.
