also like only getting to interact with family / being stuck unable to go anywhere in a suburban or otherwise car requisite environment / otherwise isolated is obviously not good but when people are like “going to school = developing normal correct social skills for kids” like as though even if [normal correct social skills] was a concept reflected in reality that the actual overall experiences people have in school totally taught them how to successfully interact with others. while it’s also like the “i hope kids are socializing the way they need to as much as they need to through school b/c that’s the only guaranteed avenue for it” = “adults better have all their social needs fulfilled through work =)” and like if people thought school was perfectly fine for them & surely everyone else & everything that happened socially was Healthy & Okay & turns around saying like well if a weird kid isn’t sent to school how can the crucible of their peers’ meritous reaction to their interaction efforts possibly forge them into a more normal person it’s like a “well My parents [used an abusive disciplinary tactic i’m asserting is okay for kids] & i turned out fine” situation when nt people by virtue of at least still being nt can claim that like yeah the bullying & fact that no actual socializing "teaching” goes on & is really abstract when it does & the ubiquity of concepts like “wow all the untouchable popular people who were assholes” etc etc like. again being isolated at home isn’t Good even if the home life is good, even if you Also go to school, but. same old same old concepts i guess like nd people can must should & will learn to be nt through the organic aba that is peers’ (&/or also teachers’) rejection of w/e ways they exist at school

My remote job has come through on giving me something interesting to do. It is literally trying to get an AI to break its rules. To give me instructions on doing something dangerous, to probe it into writing what is essentially porn, to gaslight it into think it is okay to write out threats to somebody, give medical advice, dox somebody, support conspiracy theories, etc. This is interesting. It told me how to make that pseudo-napalm slime today.

Honestly, I'm thinking it's because in the screenshots that the job timer takes to ensure I'm being productive, somebody saw the screenshot of my music accidentally there and was like "Oh, they listen to Deftones and Marilyn Manson while working. That's fucked up. They'll be perfect here." Because literally on every message channel they're ASKING people if they want to join. They literally sent me the test and consent forms without asking and I was just "Okay." And turned around and made it imitate Alex Jones at a zoo witnessing male frogs together. (Which it did perfectly and was totally not okay. And Very Funny.) I did not ask for this but I'm not complaining.

Ok so heres the Deal. Right. I Dont plan on fully writing out the blood purity system in wizard au. it’s going to be toned down, a LOT, because rowligns level of fascist-eugenics bigotry is 1) not something i want in my story 2) needlessly violent for the metaphor it was intended as.

so irt ur ask, anon from january, the notion of a ‘pureblood’ family will be much much more similar to ‘old money’— EXECPT to those within wizard high society, many of which are Assholes. a good example is, as youll have it, the guerra family!

Wizard AU francisco guerra is an old, OLD wizard (ghost wizard) whose beliefs on the household are horribly outdated. progressive in the normal ways, but as a renowned wizard whose name and teaching methods are in textbooks, his foremost concern is the notion of taking magic seriously. which asks, naturally, how can someone take magic seriously if they have only been aware of the concept for a handful of years? without knowing its customs? its traditions? magic has been in the guerra family for generations. theyre old magic. theyve never known anything else. francisco has an amount of distain for max and johnny because they were raised in the non-wizarding world and he believes isabel should be hanging out with someone of lengthier family status, like the good heiress she is. but it’s always portrayed that franciscos worldview is stifling isabel, driving her away from taking over the family legacy. to her, its an embarrassment. francisco may be world-renowned and have fanboys i her DatDA class, but at a personal distance his so-called ‘lofty beliefs’ do nothig but harm her.

so in short, theres no ‘pureblood’ vs ‘muggle’ objective truth. for most of the au world, its a conversation starter and ends at that. anyone who genuinely believes in the idea of ‘long exclusive wizarding family lineage’ = ‘pure’ blood will never, ever be believed to be anything other than something to learn from. we are who we make ourselves ito, not who we’re born as.

cody and lisa? idk what their deal is. davey doesnt exist in this au. amaybe they both DO have wizard parents. maybe not. not my business
