To answer your question, I've kind of always been drawing as a way to express myself and my emotions. I draw to say the things I feel without having to use words. How I got into TMNT and drawing turtles is a long story, but I'll do my best to simplify. So, I knew about TMNT through the 2003 and 2012 tv series. I wasn't too into the fandom or anything until the 2022 Rise movie came out and it was on Netflix. I had watched clips of the show and the movie on Youtube until I finally got around to watching the movie and was hooked. I was also on Twitter at the time, in a different fandom, so I just drew rise fanart for myself until I finally posted something rise related that kinda got me "initiated..?" into the fandom, and now I'm still here a year later. Woo!

My favorite piece that I've ever done is this one:

I love ~literally~ everything about it and I could gush about it for so long. I will always choose this piece. The fact that it's traditional makes it even more lovely to me. Cassandra is a total badass and I literally fell in love with her whilst making this comic..so that's also a bonus point.

And yes! Many, many pieces. Mostly my um...angst stuff, actually. I dunno...whenever I draw Leo screaming or looking "haunted" it makes me laugh. I'm terrible, I know.

In this post on the Insider Gaming article and this post on the Reddit screenshot etc leaks (spoiler warning for DA:D at links), I mentioned comments made by possible playtesters/similar folks on Reset Era from October 2022. since I referenced them and many people don't use that site, I thought I'd belatedly collect them here for reference. under a cut in case of DA:D spoilers -

first, the usual set of disclaimers that should be kept in mind with all leaks: might not be real, unable to verify at present, sometimes leakers think they’re right about things but are unintentionally incorrect or got some wires crossed, games change a fair bit between development phases and final release, take with grain of salt etc.

User: "Important to remember that this doesn’t mean the game is anywhere close to release. Still plenty to do and plenty that will be changed between now and release." Possible playtester or person who has otherwise seen or heard about the game (hereafter notating these users as "PP" for brevity): "At the very least I like the gameplay direction they are taking is better than the previous games, and they have a clear direction of where they want this game to go. Although I have always preferred actions rpgs, and am looking forward to the inspiration they took for combat." - PP2: "Folks should be excited but also expect a smaller scale game, plenty of people on the team have 'complained' that it doesn't feel AAA in scope." [...] "I would say just dont go in expecting something other WRPG are producing in terms of game size...if that makes sense lol" - User: "Totally fine, it sounds like it's gonna be a better version of Dragon Age 2, with fleshed out city + surroundings" PP1: "This is not a good description of DAD." - User: "For the love of the Maker, bring back the Darkspawn." PP1: "They did." - User: "I haven't been paying attention. Are they bringing back tactics, or are they leaning more towards the awesome button?" PP2: "They're leaning toward God of War/ Mass Effect over the shoulder combat." - User: "is it open world or splitted in several areas?" PP1: "Only saw certain linear zones, but whether it is all DAO/2 style zones or mixed open and linear zones like DAI is up in the air. I would prefer the latter with less grinding required to progress like everyone else of course." - User: "That's a bit disapointing, but as long as they have a coherent direction, it's still better than the last 2 game's attempt at spliting the baby in twain" PP1: "GOW 2018 style melee, so not mash button for success but timing, combos, mixing up skills, and playing on your build/skill strengths." - User: "ok but I need Knight Enchanter mage or gish equivalent" PP1: "I think with each class you choose at the beginning you can end up with three subclasses." - User: "Was what you played still party-based?" PP1: "Party commands were disabled, so how much control you have is also an unknown." -

User: "Does one [class] include a magical archer, something beyond the Tempest specialization in scope?" PP1: "Well my base class was a warrior type so there was no access to ranger or mage types, but the warrior does have a magic subclass." - User: "Oh wild lol. I thought this kind of stuff is usually under lots of NDA or something similar" PP1: "It is, helps that no one has leaked screenshots or footage." - User: "I figure you can’t say exactly when it happened, but given your mention of party commands being disabled, it guess it happened after the report of last year about the game shifting to a full SP experience, correct? It seems the action-based gameplay that was lightly teased by some devs before remained even when the game shifted to SP, given your impressions." PP1: "Yes, any part I have seen of the game was after that. This part is speculation, if they have open zones like DAI they can still pull off a live service similar to the last three AC games and it would have no effect on people strictly coming to the game for the story. I would even go as far as saying this might be positively received if they only have cosmetic BPs and mtx." - User: "I think dlcs of various forms, from story to outfits/weapon will still happen; even before, when the game was mentioned to be a live service one, they used DAO as something that already fit that definition. The game won’t go beyond that scope in terms of ‘live service’ though, given how much they’re starting DreadWolf is a full SP experience. Interestingly, from the blog update and the lead developer afterwards, ME seems to follow the same path." PP1: "Yeah I think dlc in terms of story expansions are a lock. If they ever want to tread the live service waters again, there is a great template for them to follow." - User: "the neon colored logo has me thinking this might go a very different direction than typical fantasy" PP1: "Not really." - PP1: "The second one [DAII] was quite literally hold a button to attack since the game was easy. The new one is not at all like that." - User: "Or if Dreadwolf even has a party-based system?" PP1: "Yes"

1,060,055, and I'm still SUPER proud of hitting a million words. don't think I'm ever gonna write as much again as I did in 2022 (how did I write almost 400k in a year????) but apparently I'm over 100k for this year so. happy with that even though I haven't written nearly as much as I'd like due to like, general life stuff

What fandoms do you write for?

just second doctor era dr who! I definitely get like, story ideas for other fandoms I enjoy, and occasionally I'll idly imagine writing some of them, but never really seriously. I've kinda made an active choice for this to be my niche and I don't seem to have run out of ideas yet so

What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending

oughfkdjg this is tough. I do think if only we could have been brave on time was pretty angsty, I don't usually write fics that toy so much with major character death.

there's a few others but the first one that jumped out at me while scrolling through my fics was i'm trying to reach you (before all the ghosts do). minor character/oc death this time but like. the whole fic was very much born out of the image of its angsty ending, so.

What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

hm I mean I do write a lot of angstless fluff!! so like, any of those. but I'm gonna go with litany for a reunion, because so much of it is angsty that I think the ending seems happier because of it.

Do you get hate on fics?

not yet! but this fandom is pretty chill so.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I am very very sex-repulsed ace it would not be a good time for anybody <3

Do you write crossovers?

not in the sense of like, bringing characters from one fandom into another. if I had the stamina/confidence to do proper longfics I'd absolutely do more aus, some of which are inspired by other media (if you guys could see the fairytale aus that live in my head.), and I /do/ have a daemon au.

the only crossover I've really done is Lifeboat, which is like. still a concept I enjoy. ark/its lore is something so close to my heart, so it was a lot of fun to fuse it with dr who. plus I just like imagining that victoria's dad was surrounded by so so so many unhinged mad scientists. & I also find it very very very funny that the ark character in question is now voiced by david tennant

not that I'm aware of! again like. small and chill fandom. who's going to be doing that.

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

no, and I don't think I'd want to - I'm a little bit too precious/sensitive about my writing to even have like, a beta reader or anything. I don't think I'd do well trying to co-write with someone. the closest I've come is kind of co-plotting out fics with other people (the plot of the selkie au is as much @ettelwenailinon's brainchild as mine <333)

What’s your all-time favorite ship?

I have been so deeply invested in two/jamie for so long that I can no longer untangle it from myself.

What’s a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

the fic I want to write most is a super comprehensive multichapter spanning about two years between jamie getting dropped off at culloden after the war games and two coming to pick him up again for 6b. I have a general sweep of the arc, some summary notes, and pages and pages of historical notes for it. unfortunately I don't think I'm ever going to feel like I've done enough historical research to justify writing it, even if I do somehow magically get myself to buck up into writing proper longfic.

What are your writing strengths?

hm idk! I'm quite pleased with some of my prose/descriptions sometimes. & I've had a few comments over the years saying I'm good at characterisation, which is always nice to hear.

I never really know what's good about my writing tho. not out of any sense of inferiority or false modesty or anything, I just. don't think that deeply about writing in general. the words come out & if I like them I like them

What are your writing weaknesses?

^^^ as I am always saying I wish I could break down the mental block that's stopping me from writing longfic

kinda related but like. I'm definitely a perfectionist and that can paralyse me sometimes when I'm trying to write a first draft.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I need to do it more often!!

my absolute dream would be to be able to translate all my fics into gàidhlig tbh. but I love love love giving jamie gàidhlig dialogue, or even just dropping little turns of phrase into his english dialogue, stuff like that. I definitely feel like there's some space between how I write/characterise jamie and how he is on screen, but to some degree that's a conscious decision. I'm always trying to strike a balance between like, writing him in character and writing him in a way that feels authentic to his time and cultural background. but dropping in bits of gàidhlig is a fun way of doing that (and also of getting myself to write in the language which is definitely good practice)

First fandom you wrote for?

hm I mean technically ig it was the saddle club. I was like 3 years old and I wrote a 'book' about the horses.

in terms of like, actively writing fic with the conscious knowledge of what fic was, probably fic about warrior cats ocs when I was about 11/12.

Favorite fic you’ve written?

old ghost's waltz, always. I loved how it came together, it was my first real dip into doing super historical jamie fic & a sort of replacement for the post-war games longfic I may never write, and it was a response to the phantom piper, which drives me absolutely insane in both good and bad ways. like it gave me so many ideas but god I could fix her.

unsorted is a very solid second though. it had all the historical fic joy of old ghost's waltz (even more so in some parts - the scene with jamie and connie might be my favourite scene I've ever written), and it was just. so cathartic to write as an expression of a headcanon I'd kind of hidden for so many years bc I was worried it wouldn't be well-received. it's my favourite fic to get comments on just because it always feels like a relief to see people enjoying it.

favourite fandom you joined this year

Bit of a cheat because it's a 'sub' fandom, but I'll say Andor (star wars). Avatar is right there, yes, but it doesn't have the oomph of Andor. Avatar has a ton of missing character development, and if the world were more approchable, I'd see myself doing a lot of fix its and missing scenes. Andor is difficult on the other hand because it's so perfect. Hard to feel like I have anything to add to the fandom. But it's the one show I've been rewatching to death and having so much respect for.

favourite fic of the year 

This is basically impossible to piiiiick.

I'll mention Fathers & Daughters, even though it's my own, because you have to goddamn love a fic to spend more than a year slaving over it. And I dooo, and yes I AM working on the final chapter still, soz lol

The hottest smut I've read was Boundaries by Spiced, and well, I did nag about it when we discussed the idea, and it's a gift, but that doesn't change the fact it's the best :3 Very happy with it. It's hot by my ace standards. Basically very mindfuck focused. Fandom is Andor!

And then for multi chapter, I'm going to mention this absolutely insane and amazing FE3H complete fic To Those Who Are Never Going Home by MadameHyde. It's set after the game in an Empire win, where a lot of the Blue Lions find themselves teaching at Garrech Mach. I didn't read the tags so some reveals blew my little brain out of the water, it was amazing. Super prose, very character driven, really enjoyed it.

favourite author of the year

@spicedrobot That one isn't too hard. I've read a LOT of their work this year, by vertue of doing a lot of beta swaps, and because they write some very delicious ships. They are responsible for 99% of my smut intake in 2022. Also I think it says a lot about an author that you can beta them every other day and never get tired of their unhinged content. They're just that good. (They are in a constant state of wrangling me over my terrible comma game, so they're also very patient and could have strangled me a long time ago, yet they didn't!)

favourite creator of the year

Very hard choice, especially when it's so broad and I've already struggled with the fanart one… But I'm going to go with :

@aromansoul. I just really love their art, and finding them through a shared Silco obsession was delightful. They have a very unique style, with colours that seem to float and come in and out of focus. You'll be staring at a super rendered area and it's perfect, and then you look elsewhere and realise half the drawing is just broad strokes… Absolutely tricks my mind, it's delightful. Also they have some fantastic unique designs of their own content that I think are dope.

favourite OC you met this year

Ah, finally an easy one! Meet Rain Drenched Mountain. He's @scuttlebuttin's Predator OC and he's very sweet. I love his design, his lore, and I think he has great taste. Very handsome lad and each time I see more art of him I feel like a little kid. I mean, Scuttlebuttin is a big favourite artist, and where they're not in a very very distressing blood-gore-clown period, I'm always thrilled to see what they post. Just check out their Odin fanart for the new God Of War, it's out of this world!!

PotD thoughts

okay now that it's been a couple days and I had some time to think things through, I'm going to put all my thoughts in one place. first, I want to ask people bashing chibnall's era to not interact with this post. it's had some ups and downs, but overall it's been my favorite era so far, and yes, not all the things I'm about to say are kind, but I'm still grateful for those four years.

I'll start with the things I liked.

the Master. oh I can't believe I'm saying this, the Master is my less favorite recurring character, I did enjoy Missy but that's it. however, Sacha Dhawan's performance this episode was spectacular. the Rasputin dance? 100/10, incredible, I choked on a custard cream and nearly died because i laughed so hard, unforgettable experience.

Ace. I was looking forward to her coming back, and I wasn't disappointed (except for one thing which I'll mention later). she calls 13 "professor", wears her famous jacket and bashes daleks with her bat. she even upgraded her Nitro 9 to Nitro 999. I love her so much.

All the callbacks to classic who. The Master taunting Tegan and Ace, and Ace reminding him that last time she saw him, he was a catboy. "I am your Master, and you will obey me." The Master (and then the Doctor too) wearing a bunch of classic doctor's outfits at once and playing Two's flute. that was great.

Previous doctors showing up, including 8, who only ever appeared twice before. I liked 5 and 7 getting some closure with their respective companions too.

Fugitive doctor. even as a cameo, and as a hologram, but still I was happy to see her.

Mandip Gill's glorious performance as Yaz. I'm so glad she got her doctorificarion to the next level: flying the TARDIS, saving the day, getting everyone home. carrying the Doctor in her strong arms like a damsel in distress. absolutely fantastic, love that.

Regeneration. I'm glad 13 found peace at the end of her journey, after repeatedly getting traumatized for three seasons. it was a very beautiful scene (if you don't count what comes after, which I'll elaborate on later).

Things I didn't like:

the refusal to acknowledge that Ace and Tegan are wlw. no mentions of Nyssa or Karra, but instead Tegan mentions her husbands and Ace flirts with Graham. as a lesbian, this stung.

all that stuff about the paintings. what was it for? just for the fun of it? it had no ties to the plot, and I fail to see why the Master's face in all the portraits was necessary.

historical inaccuracy. I'm not talking about Rasputin here, but rather about the winter palace, which in 1916 certainly didn't look like it does in 2022. they didn't even bother to change the flag, which was hilarious. but i do appreciate the representation, lol.

everything leading up to Yaz's exit. it was awful and just plain lazy writing. she never got the chance to tell 13 about her feelings. she never got to express her opinions (except for that one scene with "make time" which i hoped would lead to her finally getting all the answers but alas). after she just silently agreed to everything 13 said in lotsd, i was hoping she would get a chance to talk in the last episode, but no. still nothing. Yaz, who's been waiting for 13 to come back for 10 months and then getting stranded in the past for 4 years, Yaz whose character developed so much in Flux, Yaz who's been patient with all the doctor's mood swings, Yaz who saved the doctor's life and never even got a "thank you", let alone an "I love you" without 13 pulling the no homo thing and saying how important all the companions are to her. it's like eotd and lotsd never happened. like 13 didn't promise, teary eyed, to tell her everything. the Doctor told Ryan more on his last day, in fact she did tell Ryan everything, and Yaz was left with nothing at all, except some ice cream, which i would've understood if it was a reference to some of their earlier adventures, but it wasn't. no goodbye hug, no kiss, no answers. and when 13 says "I'd rather do this next part alone", Yaz simply accepts it. she gets dropped off in Sheffield, and just nods without saying goodbye (which, again, is for 13's benefit), and then gets invited to a therapy session with a bunch of seniors she barely knows or doesn't know at all. my friend @nightmanatee pointed out that it would make sense for Yaz to say the speech reminiscent of Graham's in twwfte, where she would talk about the Doctor. but this, too, was taken away from her. and so Yaz gets reduced to one of many, just another companion dumped by the Doctor. notice how all the companions in that room were the Doctor's friends and nothing more, and they all left willingly. Yaz, who's been with the Doctor since day one and devoted 10 years of her life to her, Yaz who was in love with the Doctor (and loved back, no matter how much that episode tried to convince me that the previous two specials didn't happen), is not the same as any of them. If we go this route, fine, give me Clara, give me Martha, who loved the Doctor like Yaz did, they at least would understand her. So please don't tell me how "right" it was, how "beautiful", because there's nothing right about a brown woman not having a chance to speak for herself and taken for granted, there's nothing beautiful about a relationship, slowly developing over the course of two seasons, suddenly taking a 180 turn and becoming a friendship again. back to square one.

and one last thing: 13 degenerating back into 10. do I even need to add anything to that? well I'm going to anyways. Jodie Whittaker was the first female doctor, she's received a lot of negativity, she's been constantly compared to Tennant, held to a higher standard than her male counterparts. Ncuti Gatwa is about to become the first Black doctor (official that is, I'm not forgetting Jo Martin). And who are we seeing at the end of the episode? fan favorite white man, stealing both Jodie's final moments and Ncuti's spotlight. all the praise RTD has said about Jodie is reduced to nothing, because he gave nmds exactly what they wanted. and okay, let's say Ncuti is still busy and they needed an in-between Doctor to temporarily fill his shoes. but guess what: Jo Martin is right there. how much more sense it would've been for 13 to regenerate back into the fugitive doctor, whose storyline was not tied up? Sacha Dhawan, whose Master messed with the Doctor's regeneration, is right there. and if they wanted the viewing figures to raise, fine, they could still bring Tennant back for the 60th, it's been done before, multiple doctors specials are a regular occurence. but they pulled the cheapest trick of all, which is super disappointing.

Anyways, I'm sad the grand finale left a bitter taste in my mouth, but I'm immensely grateful to Jodie, Mandip, Sacha et all for having been in my life for these 4 years. I'm looking forward to their next projects and holding out a hope for future DW cameos and Big Finish audios.

Story I’m most proud of: Again, “Jason Todd...Ghostbuster?” has to be the one I’m most proud of because it’s my longest one with almost 50k words and I’m not even half-way through what I have planned!

Funniest: It’s a toss up between “What Do Bees Make?” and “More Than Meets the Eye.”  WDBM? was a crack fic I wrote at midnight because I love the ‘What do bees make? Honey? Yes, Dear?’ gag. MTMTE is also funny because I love writing Karliah just growing increasingly exasperated at the stupid and weird things about Duna (my Dragonborn for the fic).

Saddest: "To Live Another Life,” hands down. I wrote this after a friend mentioned how if you go back to the prison cell you start off in with the Alternate Start Skyrim mod, there’s a skeleton in the bed, kinda implying you had died and were reincarnated into your current character. Legit teared up when I wrote it. (I was also (lovingly) shamed by my friend who beta’d it because I wrote the draft in Comic Sans)

Least Popular: “More Than Meets the Eye,” but I expected it because it’s an OC story. However, I am pleased to see I have some subscribers for it! Also, funny thing to note. One of my friends had actually read this fic before I told them I wrote fanfiction.

Most Cringe-worthy: I try to be proud of what I wrote, so I’m gonna take a page out of wordsofawanderingsoul’s book and go with fics that were out of my comfort zone. “To Live Another Life” was definitely something that was new territory because I had never written second-person POV before. It was a fun exercise, and I’m happy with how it turned out.

Basic plot summary: Jason settles down in Hell’s Kitchen after his confrontation with Batman ended with his throat getting slit by a batarang and leaving him unable to speak. He ends up meeting Matt Murdock at a church and has an enlightening encounter with the man.

Re: the compression socks- I'm US based, but the pharmacy I work for special orders compression socks for customers, so you might be able to find an independent pharmacy that does the same? Probably wouldn't be fun patterns, but they should be able to get thigh-high in your size & compression strength. Might not be much help, but it could be an avenue you haven't tried yet

My mom is a nurse and also just suggested a bunch of local medical supply stores in the area that I can try, which hadn't occured to me either.

Kinda sucks when you're blocked by someone you've never spoken to, and you know it's because of rumours about you. (This is about twitter and we both have locked accounts.)

Obviously anyone can block anyone they like for any reason, but knowing that people are turning you away because of something they heard about you without ever giving you a chance on your own? Forming their own opinion? Not a great feeling.

And I know that if someone is the type to dismiss me based on rumours, I probably wouldn't like them anyway, but that doesn't mean it doesn't still sting a little.

At times, Ben is mildly haunted by the question of if he might be Basil's dad.

Basil's parents were Spooks. Ben used to be a Spook. He's ace and uninterested, so he's not exactly hopping merrily from bed to bed, but he has slept with people for various reasons in the past, and he's also gotten his memory redacted a time or two, for Spook-related reasons. He could have slept with a lady Spook in one of those periods of time he can't remember now, at about the right time for her to have Basil later. He occasionally wonders, and then firmly pushes the thought away again. He's not set up to parent anyone, and he feels like he'd have to say something if he ever found out for sure.

Meanwhile Basil also wondered as soon as he met Ben at like thirteen, immediately went about sneaking a DNA sample to do the requisite testing, found out Ben's definitely not his dad, and moved on with his life. It never occurred to him to mention it; it's not like Ben wouldn't know for sure, right?

a lil timelapse of me finishing and submitting my dissertation (32 minutes before the deadline) but i realised that this is likely the last study post i'll ever make (not that i was ever regularly posting lol) so its a little bittersweet! ive had this studyblr since 2015 (seven years holy shit thats a long time) and i do think its been an incredibly important part of my life, for better or worse. i started this blog in an attempt to hold myself more accountable whilst studying for my gcses and i think for most part it was helpful (ignoring 2016/17 studyblr... muji and overexposing our pictures really had a grip on us huh) despite the weirdly large number of asks i got from people telling me that i shouldnt do 5 a-levels (i did 5 and i aced all of them. suck it. AND i did an epq as well! extra suck it!)

apparently theres 15k of you, which i simply do not think is true (i imagine the vast majority of my followers are made up of long abandoned studyblrs) but for those of you who continue to stick around and like my silly little posts, even if we don't interact, ur huge and i appreciate u. ive made some many wonderful (and hopefully lifelong) friends as a result of studyblr and genuinely wouldnt change it for the world :')

i've mentioned this in the tags of a post recently but im going to change my url soon to a non study related one because im not studying anymore lol, but dw im not deleting this blog or anything, this blog has always been very loosely defined as a studyblr so you can expect plenty more dracula daily memes in the near future

Something that I love to think about is Pitcairn’s POV for the scene at the Restless Ghost tavern when the main members of the Colonial Rite meet up after years of being apart. When they reveal to Haytham the truth about Kaniehtí:io’s death, the fate of her village, the unapproved expedition, and, of course, Connor. 

Because, as we all know, the only other person who didn’t join the expedition was Pitcairn. Which begs the question - did he know about the expedition? Was he invited but couldn’t attend, or was he deployed elsewhere so they didn’t bother to include him on any of the planning?

If he wasn’t invited, when did he learn about the expedition? Maybe he learned about it the night of the Boston Tea Party, immediately. Maybe Charles and William filled him in afterward. Or maybe he saw Charles and William tense up when watching the assassin, sensed there was something more to the story, and asked. Maybe they didn’t even tell him then. Somebody please write a fic about this.

Anyway, while it’s unlikely, I like to imagine he was completely in the dark about it as much as Haytham was. Because reading that scene, when Charles starts the whole confessional with, “There was a boy at...” and Haytham describes the scene by saying “an uncomfortable silence seemed to descend on the table. The men either reached for their tankards or hunched their shoulders or found something to study in the fire nearby,” I like to imagine John is sitting there like:

I did this some days ago this February, like around February 3, 2022.

the ship drawing I’m working on is not fully finished, it has to do with Max Goof and another character, so it’s kind of a Crossover ship.

if I end up taking a long nap or just don’t feel like finishing up today or tonight, I can try to work on it more tomorrow....

which will mean I will have to put down “February 9 to February 10″

which I will have to do the same with some other half finished drawings...

like if you do a drawing last year but you didn’t fully finish it when it became next year, so you have to put the month, day and new year on to the drawing as well to sure the day and year you first worked on it and to the day and year when you fully finished it.

I think I will wait to post it tomorrow, the ship drawing I mean....

well no matter if I am Enbian or not (because my pendulum gave me a “Yes” when I asked if am a Enbian...)

it’s not like I feel a super attraction to all humans, you know in a romantic way....sure I am fine with crushes and I’m fine with that.

plus I know there are some who I can care about and love in a platonic way.

but some humans are the reason for my being Semi-Misanthrope.

and finding out that in this I am a Karmic-Daughter because of my Dad,

the whole “Karmic” thing wouldn’t just be from him, it can also do with the let’s call it a consciousness manifestation of light (which is what Gems from Steven Universe are, and the same could be said for Other type of Souls...)

I wouldn’t of found out about the whole “Karmic Child” thing if it wasn’t for watching that whole video that was for Gemini, and then it caused me to get curious to try to look up info about it which ended up having me find a video that explains Karmic Children....

I still don’t know if wearing gems like a necklace or bracelet can help everyone, or it can help those who end up being born Karmic Children, but it doesn’t hurt to try.

I only take my bracelets off when I really need to, and of course I do take off my necklace but only when I have to take a bath or shower or have to go to sleep.

and right now, I have to go to sleep because I’m tired.

 I had to stop watching the Part 2 of Season 5 of Steven Universe,

because I became little sleepy, I will watch more of it later....

and after I finish the last few episodes on there, I will move on to the movie and then Steven Universe Future.

not everyone has to like Steven Universe Future,

but the problems Steven was showing in it, had first started in the first series and the SU-Future was the breaking point, at least things worked out in the end.

finding out about Greg’s past, some might take his side and agree about how his parents were “terrible”....sure Greg still has his good side, but how he parented Steven could still have it’s negative effects.

like excluding Steven, when Greg and Connie does the high-five while saying “Human beings”....or not taking Steven to the doctor for his human half.

even after getting all that money, Greg could still taken Steven to the Doctor.

I still love Steven Universe, Steven Universe Future and the Movie...

but some dark secrets you find out about some characters, it makes you see them differently.

at least Pink/Rose saving Earth and helping Gems make a new life on the planet Earth, it was in her way redemption but she still end up hurting those around her, those who loved her....

if Pink had destructive powers that happen when she got really mad and throws a tantrum, and if Steven is right about Greg being Just Like Her....

then Steven’s Grandparents might of gave him some rules for a good reason.

I can talk more about it later, like the next time I sign on here...

hi love im deep in ur art blog for reasons and im SO in love with the fact that ur ghoul has his OWN nickname tattooed on him in party's writing they are SO 🥺 was wondering if you wanted to talk a bit more abt ghouls tattoos??? theyre just SO gorgeous and intricately laid out

^ yeah ghoul & party have each other’s handwriting tattooed!! for party it’s one of the only tattoos they have & it’s right over their heart (im sure ive mentioned this fact before but idk if ive explicitly noted that it says ‘sunshine’) and ghoul didn’t have the space to put his right over his heart because poison’s kj symbol is there so his is on his upper arm (they ARE soooooooo 🥺 i love them)

ghoul’s tattoos are a healthy mix of sentimental ink and things he just thought were beautiful. when he met the rest of the four he didn’t have THAT many tattoos because 1. he was 14 2. he’d only been in the zones for a little under a year and a half at that point but the ones he DID have (aka his oldest tattoos) were his knuckle tattoos (‘freed’ and ‘fuck’ what can i say he was 13), the big raven on his upper shoulder and neck (he started believing in the witch very early compared to other cityborns but yeah that tattoo was both a way of symbolizing his devotion to the witch and a way of marking himself as a killjoy/shedding his past in the city in the way that he considered clearest), the fangs on his hand, two bats on his leg, the zombie bite on the other side of his neck (i could get a little more into this but BASICALLY ghoul being an ex-crow trainee + a cityborn + being the only surviving member of his first crew had a problem with feeling inhuman and a lot of survivor’s guilt and so he really. idk he connected a lot with zombies & frankenstein’s monster and ghosts & the like when he was a runner for dr. d post-his crew’s deaths. he got better about Seeing Himself as a Person especially once kobra + the other two showed up but the fascination remained) (also not tattoo-related but that’s when he chose his name. before that he’d been called ‘sandpup’ by his old crew & he never had a chance to tell them before they passed but he really loved that they used that as a name for him especially with how much he didn’t want to associate himself with the city) (ghoul had A Lot of issues but the difference there is that he worked thru them a lot earlier than the rest of the four) and “I FORGIVE U” on the back of his neck (in remembrance of said former crew).

umm along with that kind of fascination with the undead/feeling that kind of connection are the frankenstein stitches on his wrists (tho thats more of a common hc) and he has this pretty big tattoo of abstracted bones following his vertebrae down his throat and chest that he’s gotten expanded/fixed/touched up over the years. ik i do a lot of b&w doodles but i feel like i’ve been kind of inconsistent about coloring (most of his tattoos are color). pretty sure ive mostly drawn them in green (???) but in my head they’re like a faded light blue using natural skin tone as highlights.

his more sentimental tattoos…let me see if i can outline them here. this might not be exhaustive but i will do my best to list what ive figured out at least thus far:

the two little bats on his right thigh are for his grandmother and little sister. his sister (juliet adele fujikawa, b. april 2009 d. december 2014) was killed in a car crash shortly before he left the city, and likewise, his grandmother (charlotte fujikawa [藤川 千尋] b. june 1936 d. december 2014) was “moved to retirement housing” at about the same time. that was pretty much the last straw & ghoul left battery city within the week

there’s his crewmates’ symbols on his chest (in order from his right to left: kobra, jet, party) (gotten when their crew had been together for a while. dating this one is based on a couple things: 1. ghoul had been with them for long enough that he felt secure 2. poison and ghoul were friends by this point, or else he wouldn’t have included their symbol and 3. poison’s is over his heart so you can read into that as you will)

text from the graffiti bible on his right calf, as protection for his crew & as a reminder of one of his former friends who was a droid that believed very strongly in destroya’s return

his raygun on his chest (he was pretty proud of the design! this was when he was ~15 or 16) that he had poison’s added to post-sing post-engagement pre-commitment ceremony (so. september 2023) (yes i have my handwritten timeline + my own drawings + my fics out in front of me rn cross-referencing sldkdksksbx!)

one of the girl’s childhood drawings (one she drew of him & her & the stuffed animal he made for her when she was a baby all having a tea party together) from when she’s about 5 or so on his right hip (december 2022 or so)

shooting stars on his upper right shoulder, partially because they’re pretty and blend well with his other tattoos and partially because they’re a reminder of a lot of things, including but not limited to his first night out in the zones seeing the stars for the first time, stories his grandma used to tell him, and right when he’d first joined the fab four and him & kobra sat on the roof during a meteor shower

besides the other one i already mentioned ^ he has more of poison’s handwriting on his left inner forearm — this is also one ive mentioned before but once they’ve been in a relationship for a while they get into the habit of leaving little love notes around for each other! there’s nothing particularly special specifically about the one he got tattooed, besides the fact that it reminded him of poison and they love each other. the text in full (which i don’t think ive ever put anywhere, though im pretty sure ive put fragments of it in fics and art) is as follows:

Good Morning baby <3! I needed new paints, went on a run. Kobra has the Girl @ the Crash Track, Jet’s at the station. call me when you wake up! I love you, be back soon. XO Party <3

he also has the anniversaries of when they started dating and their commitment ceremony (03•03•21 and 10•26•23 respectively) on the inside of his right wrist ^ !

he’s got a snake wrapping around his left leg that kobra picked out and a hand of cards with the ace of spades face up that jet picked out (and these ofc are because they remind him of his crewmates!!)

he has the phoenix witch tattooed on his ribs, left side, styled vaguely after catholic saints (since that imagery can still be found in the inner zones & especially where ‘joys who still practice that religion gather!)

there’s a version of the eye from the mailbox on his right shoulder, and this one is also a sort of symbol of protection/good luck, to show devotion to the witch and to help protect himself and his crew

the constellation libra on his left forearm! this one was done a little while after he started running transmissions and supplies for dr. d! he liked the connection that astrology — whether he believed in the practice or not is up for debate — gave people to the stars, and the feeling that he had a place in the universe, predestined or not

after charlie is born, he gets a portrait of her (~age 4) with her name and birthday underneath done on his left thigh! (~2036)

and on his lower back, he has a fairly simple tattoo of two crows on a wire with their beaks pressed together (aughhhhhh romance) that he gets done as an anniversary surprise for their 10-year (so. 2033)!

his non-sentimental tattoos are largely based off of images from books, either from dr. d’s collection when he was working as a runner for him or from cherri’s after he joined up with the fab four, or else they’re naturally occurring in the zones!! this includes but is not limited to: california golden poppies on the back of his left shoulder, strawberries around his left bicep (he doesn’t ever have a strawberry until he’s like 35, this one is absolutely based off of a particularly pretty illustration), a thundercloud with lightning on his left elbow, a moon on his right inner bicep, a ring of thorns around his right forearm right under the elbow, a dagger on his inner left calf, and a sun, small bat, cross, rose, ribbon (with the word ‘faith’ in script), and wing on his right forearm and hand, all picked from flash sheets

so yeah! that’s about everything i have to say about ghoul’s tattoos atm but ty ty ty sm for letting me ramble abt them i think about his tattoos so much 😔❤️

Journal for August 2022

From now on, I’ll be posting my DeviantArt journals here as well. I only write these like once or twice a year, lately...I’ll also write on the Summary of Art at the end of each year, of course. Let’s see if Tumblr’s formatting is better for it! (probably!) It’s long so here’s a readmore. By the way...

The last time I was on my computer, a tree fell on our house! :O  Well, that's what it sounded like anyway! I was on my computer watching videos when I heard a crack, a rustling, and then a very loud crash. Me and my mom looked outside to find a pine tree in the corner of the yard had snapped in half and and fallen in between our house and the next house. There was also a large branch sticking in between the fence and our house! It appears the tree had fallen more or less parallel to the fence in our yard, except for that one branch which I think hit the roof above my room and broke on impact.  Surprisingly, no one was hurt and there doesn't appear to be any damage to the house, although the fence was knocked open. We're very lucky considering all the ways the tree could have fallen, including onto an AC unit (expensive, important!), into my window (where I was sitting!) or into the neighbors window (where they were probably sleeping!). But it fell almost perfectly next to the fence instead... Gosh!  We're very lucky it didn't hit that AC unit, because it was just replaced last month, as it had stopped working! At that point the heat was already in the 80's and 90's and somewhat humid...but now? Wouldn't THAT have been terrible... but, yes, we are okay.  In other news... I have ideas to work on my website, but doing HTML is sometimes very complicated so I don't have much to show for it yet. For example, my old Windows XP acted like it didn't want to start up, so I finally copied all the files off of it, and looking through them made me nostalgic for those old fan sites on the late 90's and 2000's (example, example)... so my site might get yet another style change to show. I'm at the very same time thinking about making/adding a Pokémon section with my Fakedex... but should I really be trying to do all that at the same time? Sigh. Oh well, we'll see if I update my website anytime soon. XD  My mom has had several procedures regarding her back, so I don't do a lot of drawing or other things around these times because I am helping her with a lot. Of course, I still haven't made a Commission sheet and it sure won't get done during any of these times, lol...   If you are really interested getting a commission from me, I WILL consider, just send me a message and I'll take a look... one day I might remember to make a sheet, It just makes me nervous for some reason? It's difficult to get started... hmm.   Oh right, I meant to do Smaugust and forgot about it. Whoops! I'll probably still draw some dragons but they will be late. Is it still considered part of the challenge if I don't do it in order or all of the days? Well, I'm always glad to draw Dragons, so I suppose it doesn't matter as long as I have fun.   Hmm... what else is there to say? I'm still wearing a mask. I'm still forgetting to socialize. Oh yeah, the branch that fell in our yard? It was very big, but I moved it myself. I'm very strong >:3... I just had to clip some of the branches off first... at least we will have firewood this winter? ...It must be the end of the journal, because I've run of out things to say.
