putting my prediction on record now that the coming decade is going to see the rise of viral-marketed fancy at-home water filtration systems, driving and driven by a drastic reduction in the quality of U.S. tap water (given that we are in a 'replacement era' where our current infrastructure is reaching the end of its lifespan--but isn't being replaced). also guessing that by the 2030s access to drinkable tap water will be a mainstream class issue, with low-income & unstably housed people increasingly forced to rely on expensive bottled water when they can't afford the up-front cost of at-home filtration--and with this being portrayed in media as a "moral failing" and short-sighted "choice," rather than a basic failure of our political & economic systems. really hope i'm just being alarmist, but plenty of this already happens in other countries, and the U.S. is in a state of decline, so. here's praying this post ages into irrelevance. timestamped April 2023

I think one of my “favorite” things is when people misinterpret what it means to be aroace. Watching people so clearly not understand the complexity behind the spectrum of aromatic and asexuality and then proceed to say they “stand with” aroace as an ally is so hilarious to me. Especially when they use this to start bashing on a perfectly fine ship, especially because said ship gets in the way of theirs.
Aroace does not mean no attraction. The plastered poster face for it is people who don’t feel ANY types of attraction, but that does not mean everyone. Aromantic people can date and fall in love. Asexual people can fuck. Aroace people can do both.
Yes, aroace rep IS needed. But we still have it via Luffy—just because Luffy kisses someone (hypothetically) doesn’t mean we just yeeted the aroace label off of him. He is STILL aroace. You know who else is aroace? Bon Clay, for one. Zoro as well. Yet I don’t see people screaming that shipping Zoro with someone completely erases the aroace label, now do I?
Ugh, I’d totally make a whole ass essay about this, but it’s half till midnight. It’s just. Been on my mind for a few hours and I need to say a little shit

thank you @improvised-chaos for posting that interview!
i continue to love kanata hongo:
Hongo : Yusuke and Kuwabara are humans, and Kurama is also in human form, so Hiei is the only pure yokai out of these four. So, I wanted to maintain a coldness, or rather an inorganic feeling, or a feeling of being alien when standing side by side with humans, so I always tried to keep a single wall between them as I played them. From there, as we fought together, little by little, I began to open up my mind to the idea that maybe humans are okay too.
and
Hongo : In addition to the sword, there were a lot of parts to attach to the waist and hands, and there was special makeup, so I was the only one who got in earlier than everyone else.
Kitamura : I looked at the schedule and felt sorry for [him] (lol)
Hongo : Even when the lunch break ends, everyone is supposed to arrive at the site about 5 minutes early, but I'm the only one who comes in about 15 minutes early and puts on one item at a time, and if I make a mistake in the order, I have to start over. That was a little difficult (lol)
also also
Hongo : Hiei is a character where a sense of speed is important, so he didn't make his body any bigger, but he practiced a lot of the actions he had to actually perform, such as swinging his sword, and his arms and legs were always pumped up. In the original work, Hiei is a little smaller than everyone else, and I wanted to keep that in mind as an image, but since I can't shorten his height, I have to change the way he holds his sword when he's fighting. I made it about 2 steps lower than normal. I fought in a state where I was constantly squatting, and my legs hurt a lot. Everyone goes through hard times and overworks their bodies, and I think that's what makes it so good.

I get what you mean about fandom being lonely for us sex repulsed!
What works for me is engaging with the few fandoms with canon aro and ace characters, there are usually lots of aspec fans there and it's nice to be able to talk with them and discuss the media's themes.
That's also true, sounds like a surefire way! But that also depends on... There BEING such accessible works to begin with (I haven't found many personally truth be told) and that I even LIKE the work altogether too... If there's a canon aro or ace character (never seen a character confirmed as aro in canon, like within the story itself, yet, truth be told, granted I gotta still watch Koisenu Futari but yeah that aside) but that's literally the only thing the work has going for it (and the characters themselves are nothing more than "the aro" or "the ace" and don't have traits or arcs I find engaging besides that) it's still a fairly bland experience...
