12. Penny: I find Penny’s route a bit boring. I mean, don’t get me wrong, she’s super sweet, but I just don’t find a bunch of interest in it, tough I know many people do enjoy her route so I’m not gonna bash too hard!

11. Shane: Shane’s storyline is beautiful and has great character development, but I feel it just goes away after marriage, also, I don’t like I can fix that man like everyone else says😣 good friend≠ dating for me.

10. Abigail: She so cute!!! I love Abigail and there’s nothing wrong with her route, I just think there are better, but I love my Little Rock eater🩷

9. Elliot: I might be a little bias here because I love men with long hair, but I love a man of poetry, I think I only put him here again, because there are better, and his after marriage wasn’t my fav.

8. Alex: Female farmer Alex wasn’t my fav, and not much happened in his route, but if your a male farmer it’s amazing to romance Alex! He’s super sweet and genuinely likes you! Good route for males, not females (sad day for all women who like Jocks😣)

7. Leah: she’s so cute!! Her whole storyline made me so happy while playing but that sculpture was definitely…something, also she’s a ginger😣 but I love the farmer giving her the confidence to just be herself, and I’m a sucker for shy girls!!

6. Emily: Her route is very crazy and leave no time for anything else, which for many, is very good! She’s a bit…ugly (IM SORRY) but her route is good, but not for everyone.

5. Haley: I love the type of popular girl who learns to love. She’s sooo pretty and her route is also super cute, as she learns to love the farmer, even though we’re lowkey dirty.

4. Sebastian: I love that he’s emo, I love emo’s, I also love frog lovers, since I used to own frogs myself! He has a great story, just stop hating on Maru😖.

3. Maru: I LOVE MARU’S ROUTE SO MUCH!!! Demetrius makes a great villain, and she’s never lacking in new ideas, her only downside is coming out so late, since I didn’t romance her for a while, and already grew tight with the other.

2. Sam: SAM IS SUCH A CUTIE! I love skater boys and he’s in a band! He’s so silly and has a pretty good route, and his winter fit is so cute!! His only downside is cheating on me with Penny😡😡.

1. HARVEY: I HAVE SLAVED AWAY HOURS FOR HARVEY AND I HAVE NO REGRETS!!! I LOVE HIM SM!! He genuinely cares about your health, and after marriage he keeps his job unlike the others. He has no downsides and NO, HE DOESNT LIKE MARU😡😡😡.

Can you tell me about Middlemarch? I've been dying to read some George Elliot hehehe. I don't know why, but I'm quickly prepared for her to become one of my fav writers

Yes, of course!! I have absolutely adored George Eliot ever since I read Middlemarch a few years ago. I love the way she weaves a slow, careful narrative where little things appear so insignificant and yet so beautiful--a story where the importance lies not in the drama or the scale of the plot, but in the emotions and inner reflections of the characters. I also do love her style, from what I've read of her in English. Keep in mind, I did read Middlemarch entirely in the Russian translation, so I can't reflect or comment on the style of that novel specifically, but I am about 100 pages into Mill on the Floss in English. She does an incredible job at portraying the various accents and speech patterns from different layers of society in a way that doesn't feel over the top, and is instead authentic and genuine to the way the characters are developed. She also has many complicated, human female heroines, which is something that is really special in novels from that period (and, arguably, still :( lol). I love everything about George Eliot--her life is super interesting too, and there are so many books of hers that I can't wait to read in the near future! I am especially impatient to read Silas Marner, Daniel Deronda, and Romola (which is actually based on one of my favorite painters of all time, Artemisia Gentileschi).

I hope this helps, and I hope you enjoy the experience of George Eliot's writing. It's slow, and profound, and just really truly lovely. :) I would love to hear some of your thoughts while/after you are reading!

Why is everyone always so obsessed with comparing the books to the show? Just let the show stand on its own and let other people enjoy it...

I tried reading the books, I don’t like the author’s writing style, so I couldn’t get into them. Besides sending this now to you, I have never before made accounts online to harass people who like the books, constantly telling them how they should feel about them.

It is a personal experience, it’s subjective.

I’m a reader myself, I have watched many books I adore being turned into very bad movies or shows. I just compartmentalise and view them as what they are: the new creator’s vision inspired by the original. And why should that not be allowed? I mean, almost everything these days is inspired by other works.

Sorry for the rant, I’m just get a little fed up with going online (for example instagram) and only see negative comments under Witcher posts, and always the same ones too “I won’t watch it because Henry is leaving” “so bad you should have stick to book so Henry didn’t leave”, etc.... Don’t like it, people? Move on to another show you might like, focus your energy on something positive. It is a waste of time to post the same negative things under every single Witcher post 😅

I understand your frustration and your point but I am on the fence with this. I agree that there will be differences because of the process of adaptation and this is inevitable. For the record, I am not a gamer and I don't like The Witcher books but as you I watched many of my fav books turn into a mess, so I have an opinion on this.

I think the acceptance and the critique of the adaptations are crucially changed with social media. I think when you adapt the most important thing is to remain true to the message or ideology of the book and its characters. So, for example, if a book is anti-war you cannot make a pro-war adaptation of it. That's why the most criticized part of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies is the character change of Faramir. Or how Netflix's Persuasion basically butchered Anne Elliot's character. But many times the adaptation is good enough so the non-readers can enjoy it and be a fan of it which is not a problem. However. I saw it many times and this happened to the Witcher book fans that they are basically bullied out of their space (in this case from their subreddit) by the non-readers. Because they cannot bare the criticism. They cannot comprehend the idea that someone doesn't like show Yen, because she is different or cannot like show Geralt because OMG who wouldn't like HC? That's why some book lovers like to gatekeep and to be fair I see their point and to a certain extent I agree. Because those "fights" are rarely about the book, it's about the fandom or "owning" those beloved stories. You said if someone doesn't like just move on, but why those fans should move on who have already loved those stories when no one besides them knows about them? Why a Polish fan should move on and accept their beloved story and their unique culture is commercialized and uniformized? As a book fan has no right to say non-readers cannot watch or enjoy this, a show lover has no right to exile book lovers and say move on to an another show if you don't like it. Maybe those fan groups just shouldn't interact with each other, because I think both have some point and fault but they will rarely reach the middle ground.

How I feel about this character:

since the now five years old manhattan newsies hierarchy post i made, my interest in finch has always been genuine!! i think his position in the newsies is very fascinating— knowing about oscar’s strike-breaking, knowing abt the trolley workers’ conditions, still showing up to the strike (one of the initial few!) despite his concerns. like. i still stand by him as “the davey before davey”, like i think finch “was”/is the smarter, more logic-driven older newsie of the group. love him for it… but then fucking uk finch is WILD LMAO?? very energetic, snaps his gaze toward conversation, very.. bright. yeah.

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character:

i actually. two of my fav things i’ve written have been redfinch (al and finch). (which we as a fandom might have to rename bc sky is no longer albert.) i think they contrast each other very well, they’re soft, private. mmh. somethin about them bro <3

Just wanted to tell you I am STILL thinking about your comment on how both o and e both had major life events happen to them when they were 16/17 years old that greatly impacted the trajectory of their lives. And also at a very impactful/formative Time in their lives.

Would they still be them? Yes? No? Would they ever have met? Who would these people be had these things not happened to them?

Such a faceted topic to think about. Esp when you get into conversations regarding fate or destiny, etc.

God right like I think about this all the time like. The svu wiki has Elliot as 17 in 1984 so he was probably born in 66 or 67 and the wiki has Liv's birthday as February 68 which means they're very very close in age and imagine if you will that his birthday is like November 67 so he's only a couple months older than her which would mean when he was 16 and hooking up with Kathy Olivia was 16 and hooking up with Burton and like he married Kathy when she got pregnant and Olivia was engaged to Burton they both were staring down the barrel of marriage at the same age and roughly the same time but it meant wildly different things to both of them and had wildly different outcomes. It's one of those "they're the same" things that makes me feral, that Elliot and Olivia share so many experiences and character traits and core beliefs in common and I'm eating dirt over it, but it also highlights their differences. Elliot has faith and a family structure and conventional bent, and his marriage was out of duty but supported by his family bc of duty and faith, and Olivia had none of those things, and we see how that impacted the future of their relationships - Elliot and Kathy's marriage was successful (ish) and Liv didn't see Burton again for like 40 years. They're both looking at a parallel universe when they look at each other in more ways than one.

And are they the same if they don't have these experiences? I don't think so. The violence with Olivia's mother I think fundamentally altered their relationship, and it introduced Olivia to Simone, and perhaps put her on the path towards becoming a cop - towards helping people who are in situations similar to the one she was in. Elliot abandons all of his dreams in favor of taking care of his ever growing family. Who would they have been if not for those events? Who would they have been if those relationships had worked out differently?

Nah but jokes aside, Jayce originally was inspired by both OG deku and Sally Face. He had blue hair and pale skin that made him look half dead.

I really wanted him to look like Sal Fisher, but blue hair wasn't doin too hot with his design. I didn't want him to be blond because i felt as if I was being lazy and giving up. But it turned out I really liked it! I wanted him to have a little spice/accent to him so there went his purple streak!

Tbh I have little to no creativity for male fashion, so I just slapped on what I wear when I'm masc.

I actually considered purple eyes bc I have a weird love for characters with them, but it in the end it would fight for attention with the streak and necklace.

His fav color actually isn't purple despite it being the color that grabs your attention to his design at first! It's Rory's lol. Not a huge spoiler, but it's smth that connects them 🤧 Gosh do I love their secret lore that hasn't been revealed yet...

Rory came out bc I had an OC sugar rush and boy am i glad he is here 😭 Jayce's lore would be 10x more boring without him.

I wanted Rory to be an bad boy emo little whiny bitch, but ugh, it totally just didn't click out. The hair was a issue within itself, the jacket wasn't very special, his tight v-neck shirt felt forced, his accs were troubling, but his little officer hat was very loved. ^^

Music - pretty wide ranging tastes from jazz to ska to rock.

Bands - Queen are always a classic, but my always and forever fav is The Cat Empire, closely followed by the Killers. I loved Lily Allen's earlier work, too.

Anime - I don't watch a lot, but I do love ATLA and rewatch it every couple of years.

Fav characters - Kel, Neal and Raoul from POTS (Tamora Pierce), Kel really resonated with me growing up and I'll love her forever; Kell and Lila from the SOM series (VE Schwab)... though I think I'll love Holland, too, by the end of it; Anne Elliot from Persuasion (Austen); Elain, Elide, and Yrene from ACOTAR and TOG (SJM) of course.

Fav clothing - for slouching around, I love leggings or tracky dacks with a jumper and slippers, but for outdoors it's pretty seasonal. Jeans or a midi skirt and a sweater with ankle boots in cooler months, and a T shirt with a midi/maxi skirt in warmer weather.

Do your OCs have a favorite flower?

Hiii, love! thank you for this question, i love it! i think i can tell you the favourite ones for my main female OCs, not on a sexism way, but on a way that I know them better than the male characters, maybe with the exception of Elliot.

Avalon's fav if definitely a white hydrangea. I like to think that it was her wedding flower and it symbols gratitude, grace and beauty, that are elements that I think match Avalon pretty well.

Prudence on her side is more of a traditional woman, more closed and reserved than her sisters-in-law, mainly because of her parents, that we will met on the next chapters. That make me associate her to lillies, as they are associated with purity.

On her side, Kate is just the opposite, she goes against the rules constantly and she was known for being a bit of a rebel before her parents death. That being said, she loves tulips because of their youthful vibe, but she prefers yellow ones, that represent desperate love, the way she feels about Celia.

By allusions, Celia's favorite flower is the red carnation. She comes from a Hispanic culture, and in my country, red carnations are used in several important festivities. Likewise, those of this color are related to love, pride and admiration. In addition, they are used both in happy and sad moments, I love that duality.

I also want to talk about Marianne, my favorite character (you will soon fall in love with her too). She is a very sweet girl, who loves pink and purity, so for me, Annie identifies with pink peonies. In Western culture, due to their connection to Greek myths, they are associated with shyness and shame, but also with beauty. Also, in the Eastern world, they are connected with honor, natural beauty, and good fortune. They are literally Annie.

Finally, I want to mention Elliot, who, now-a-days, is a 15-year-old heir to the kingdom, but he is also a very sweet and sensitive boy, who appreciates small and beautiful things. His favorite flower is the astilbe, which is not particularly well known; but it means hope, which is his mantra. Since Elliot is a blue character, I imagine his favorite color is blue as well, so there will always be blue astilbes in his vases.
