I really wanna scream.
What's going on in tumblr right now is making me sick.
Noah Marciano, an Israeli hostage, has died.
Hamas has posted a video of her, claimed to be from the fourth day of war. We know she was alive. We know Hamas had her alive.
Killing a hostage is a war crime. Did you know that?
Why does nobody talks about it? Why when you thought that Israel bombed a hospital (which they obviously didnt) it was on the news and trending the in a moment, but when Hamas kills a hostage it goes unknown?
You oppose war crimes? Start with admitting that Hamas are committing them.
You say you aren't antisemitic. You say you oppose war crimes.
But you are silent when a hostage dies.
Let's be honest, all right? If Israel had palestinian hostages, and they would kill one of them, you wouldn't shut up about it. You would say they committed a war crime.
Why are you silent now?
May her memory be a blessing.

starve out. I hope you drench down. I hope the list won't stop until you do. Fall into the stupor you built for yourself helpless little thing. Fall away from here.

i gave you fifty days and fifty nights
to break your chains and get it right
i paced for hours
breathed in your shadow
the wine turned sour
and so did your ego
I gave you fifteen chances and fifteen tries
to fight your clouds and show me a light
my screams were silent
your jealousy wasn't
the colors were vibrant
the sounds were buzzing

the steven universe hate is insane bc people are (or at least were) more upset that fictional war criminals got fictional hugs than they recognize that it singlehandedly advanced queer rep in children's media by lightyears and then straight up ate heavy retaliation for the nerve.
It does have real flaws that are worth discussing, but it also put their male protagonist in dresses and skirts and played it straight and even empowering, they aired a lesbian wedding on television, it was a genuinely queer, genuinely diverse piece of media through and through. It did a lot of real good for the real world.
But also the fictional characters caused fictional harm to other fictional characters, and didn't get an onscreen firing squad sentence. So, you know, it's basically ontologically evil in real life.

listen I know it's heartbreaking that Claudia dies and it's understandable to wish she didn't, but let's please not accuse the writers of fridging her. to do so is a fundamental misunderstanding of the story and is frankly insulting to the intelligence and skill of the writers of the show.
Claudia's death, and the overwhelming grief and regret her parents experience because of it, is quite literally the point of the entire story. she dies because Anne's daughter Michele died of leukemia when she was five years old and there was nothing she or her husband could do to prevent it.
writing IWTV was how Anne coped with the unimaginable loss of a parent losing her child. she created a story about a little girl that could not die and then killed her anyway. Claudia's death is a senseless, unavoidable tragedy, just like Michele's was. the grief that haunts Louis and Lestat for the rest of their lives is the same grief that haunted Anne and her husband.
so when you're accusing people of killing Claudia off to benefit a story about two men, please remember that in real life sometimes parents lose their children. please remember Michele Rice.
she's the reason Claudia exists.
she's also the reason Claudia cannot be saved.
