He’s late today, though. You pace nervously on one of the lower merchant floors, checking the station time on your tablet. You have to go up a floor to check the sector generator by the pleasure booths, and you were really hoping he’d come with you. Loroa spots you from the doorway of her shop, electronic screens advertising forged ship registrations and galactic travel passes. She waves you over with one flicking forelimb, keening in displeasure when she sees that you’re alone. “He is late!” she says, indignant. Her long, equine body curls around you protectively. “No being alone. Too dangerous. Stay until he is here.” 
“He might not show up,” you say. 
She bristles at the mere suggestion. “Ridiculous! Small things, you must look out for each other. Nobody else will but Loroa, and Loroa cannot be everywhere at once.” 
She gives you snacks, like always, a bag of savory snack pellets popular on her homeworld. You camp out next to her shop and watch the bustling market activity while you wait. The upper districts form a stalactite skyline of dingy, old metal and softly pulsing landing bay lights. There’s an orange, smoggy haze from the external lights, veiling the markets in perpetual sunset. Loroa shares a block with a software modder, a weapons smuggler, and a bar that never seems to close. Foot traffic is dense and constant, but you haven’t seen him yet. Like you, he sticks out in a sea of tailed, spined, and tendriled bodies, the only other human on Cabrax.
Just as you’re starting to lose hope, though, you smell it—slightly sweet and floral, a distinctive, earthy cologne. “Blue!” you say excitedly, waving at him across the market. He looks almost embarrassed by the attention, slinking quickly and gracefully through the stream of moving bodies to reach you. Blue keeps his hair cropped short and his bangs uneven, one eye hidden, and it’s colored with the brightest cyan dye you’ve ever seen, nearly luminescent. Everything else about him is geared towards vanishing, from his black, nondescript clothing and small stature to the hunched, closed posture he constantly maintains. He steps so lightly you rarely hear any footsteps.
“There he is!” Loroa says, arms and forelimbs crossed. She has herself wound through display booths and tables with sample products, the bulk of her still pressed against your back. “You are late! Should have been here sooner!” Blue looks sheepish under her scrutiny, bowing his head in shame. Loroa huffs. “Fine, fine. You are sorry, Loroa sees it. Go! Do not be more late! Be good to each other, small things.” She sends you off with a crushing hug. Blue sidesteps the hug with an apologetic look, shaking his head, so she gives him a bag of snacks instead. 
Together, you get even more stares, but it doesn’t bother you as much. Blue acts like he doesn’t even notice, too focused on you. He has a staring problem. You’ll walk single-file through a dense crowd and feel his unrelenting stare on your back. You crouch by vent openings and dig through control panels, up to your elbows in cords and mechanical innards, and he’ll stand there, unmoving, nearly unblinking, looking at your face in profile the whole time. It was a little unsettling at first, but you’ve gotten used to it. Sometimes you stare at him, too, soothed by a familiar arrangement of eyes, a protruding nose, and five-fingered hands. 
Your first stop is lower ventilation. You squeeze into a room the size of a storage closet packed with air purifying units, and Blue stands guard outside. “I heard this place was a hykra penal colony once,” you say absently. “That’s why so much of the machinery is crammed in tight spaces like this. They could just squeeze a tentacle in here no problem. I have to take everything apart just to get at the controls.” 
Blue doesn’t talk. You aren’t sure if it’s a choice or not, but you don’t hassle him about it. If you stop rambling, he’ll tap your shoulder and nod or make a turning gesture with his hand. Go on, he says this way. His silence is companionable. Rarely, you’ll get a harsh exhale out of him if you tell a joke stupid enough. 
“I was a shipworm, y’know,” you tell him. “Back before they outlawed it. I grew up on this awful shipping scrapheap and crawled around in the engine ducts with the other kids to make sure nothing exploded. This place seems like paradise in comparison.” 
Blue gently rests his hand on your back, his palm settling between your shoulders. He avoids touch most of the time. Anything he initiates is meaningful, usually meant to comfort you. 
“Aw, I’m alright, Blue,” you assure him, pulling your face out of the ventilation console. Blue has a small, worried frown on his face. “I don’t do anything that dangerous anymore, trust me. They don’t wanna risk losing any of us when we’re the only ones who know how to keep this place from falling apart!”
It’s a young friendship and there’s a lot to talk about. You ask him questions sometimes, glancing away from whatever wiring mess you’re working on to see the expressions and gestures he makes. “What kind of food do you like? What do you do around here? Do you get bored following me around all day?”
There are a lot of times that he just shrugs, unable or unwilling to divulge an answer. But every now and then, you get other responses. He ruffles your hair gently when you ask if he’s bored. When you glance at him, he shakes his head emphatically. Definitely not bored. You don’t ask why he’s here, though. Hearing someone’s past is the truest sign of Cabrax friendship. It’s not something taken lightly. You think about telling him about you, too, sometimes. Where you came from, the winding road that brought you here. But you’re not ready yet. 
You split up just once. You’re halfway down a cramped maintenance corridor when you suddenly realize you can hear footsteps behind you, too heavy to be his. Blue’s gone when you turn around. That happens sometimes. He makes little detours along your route, slipping into stores or restaurants quickly before rejoining you just as suddenly. The person behind you is one of the taller, lanky species, spiny growths like knives curving out of his elbows and the back of his feet. He’s not doing anything, but he’s staring at you and he’s following you down a dark maintenance hallway, walking just a little bit faster and gradually gaining on you. 
You start speedwalking, then jogging, slipping into the first doorway you come across. It’s hardly shelter, just a shallow alcove with some dusty equipment inside, but you wedge yourself behind towering metal protrusions and hold your breath. Maybe he’ll just keep walking? Heavy, clanging footsteps get closer and closer, until—
they stop. You don’t hear anything. You wait for a minute, and then two. Is he just standing there, waiting for you to come out? You’re afraid to look. You wait even longer, your legs cramping in their tightly folded position. There’s a soft sound, a barely audible tap of something tiptoeing down the maintenance corridor. Blue suddenly steps into view, peering into the alcove curiously. You let out a relieved sigh. 
“Where were you?” you ask, trying to sound miffed rather than terrified. “I turned around and you were gone!” Blue bows his head, the same way he did when Loroa scolded him. “I’m not mad, Blue. It just scared me a little. Tap me on the shoulder if you leave, okay?” He nods eagerly. His sweet smile stirs butterflies in your stomach. 
The pleasure booths are the latest iteration of a club that’s constantly changing hands, a seedy bar and dancefloor with private rooms for rent. Half of them are staffed with flirtatious AI, the rest for couples and casual encounters. Blue stops staring for the first time that day when you walk beneath the red neon glow of the club sign, his pace slowing slightly. You’re trapped between him and the towering generator cabinet, your pulse picking up. “Blue?” you say nervously. “What are you doing?” 
He answers concisely, with a roll of his hips. Your breath hitches and you shift anxiously. You like Blue. You think he’s cute, and it’s not like you’ve never thought about this before. You might be a little touch-starved and desperate, never feeling comfortable enough to let anyone get too close. Blue grinds against you again and a shaky breath heats your ear. 
“You really wanna?” you ask, feeling a little shy suddenly. “With me? Right now?”
He doesn’t tell you that he wants you. He shows you. Blue kisses your neck with such passion and focus that it feels dirty, sucking and swirling his tongue anywhere that you seem sensitive. A shiver runs down your spine. Bodies turn up around here sometimes. It’s not unusual. But a grisly murder in a maintenance tunnel? That could’ve been you. Blue halts your nervous train of thought by ruffling your hair. You smile and he smiles back. 
“You’ve got my back, right, Blue?” you ask. He nods eagerly. “Good. Loroa’s right. We’re the only humans here. We’ve gotta look out for each other.” 
Loroa tilts her head, eyeing you strangely. She looks like she wants to say something, but Blue glances at her suddenly, his gaze pleading. She lets out a huff but she nods, doesn’t say a word, and leaves the two of you alone. Blue presses a sudden kiss to your cheek that makes you giggle. It’s nice to have people you can count on, you think.

Adapting Yarncraft Skills for the Disabled
If you have two standard-issue arms in working order with standard-issue accessories (two average-mobility hands with five average-mobility phalanges each), yay!  There’s one set of adaptations you don’t need to make.
If you have full-body or lower-body mobility issues, such as limited leg mobility (or intense leg pain which would likewise limit your mobility) or limited number of legs (which may or may not affect your mobility), make sure your project supplies are in easy reach.  I recommend keeping it all in a large bag or tote, but anything that will let you keep it close and contained will do the trick.  I don’t recommend keeping your yarn rolled into traditional (outer-pull) balls, because they may travel quite a lot as they unwind.  If you purchase your yarn in balls or hanks (rather than skeins, which can be pulled from the center or from the outside), I recommend re-winding them into center-pull balls, either with your hands or with a winding machine.  A standard yarn-winder will do just fine, as long as you don’t lose the end of the yarn that goes in the middle--that will be where you take your yarn from to knit or crochet, so that the main bulk of the yarn doesn’t turn or move as you pull.  Keeping your yarn close to you while you work will limit the possibility of getting your yarn tangled (or stolen by fur-babies).
If you have upper-body mobility issues, you’ll need to make some extra allowances when crafting.  For shoulder mobility or chronic shoulder-pain, make sure you’re seated in a position that supports your upper back--ideally something that lets you lean against it slightly to help keep your shoulders in place (high-backed chairs or recliners are great for this).  For elbow issues, you may find it easier and more comfortable to work over a surface where you can rest your forearms, such as a table or a lap-tray.  For hand issues, make sure you are holding a crochet hook in the hand with the most control (or the least pain) to help keep your stitches more uniform; when knitting, put your working yarn in the hand with the most control (or the least pain) for better control of your yarn-overs.  You may see photos or videos of folks holding their needles or hooks in specific ways, but the only ‘right’ way to hold your tools is the way that lets you use them without causing injury or pain.  Generally speaking, whatever way you hold a pen or pencil is the way you should hold your hook or needle, mostly because you’ve already built the musculature for that posture--I almost always work overhand instead, holding my tools the way I would hold my toothbrush, because the pencil-grip exacerbates my pain (I only ever use the pencil-grip when crocheting fine lace, because I find it gives me added precision, but it still hurts more that way).
Note!  If you have limb differences in your hands, you may need to hold your yarn differently as well as your tools.  If you need to use your toes, your elbows, your chin, whatever--go for it!  Don’t feel silly--you are adapting, and that’s amazing!
Also note!  For neuropathy and chronic pain in the hands, be sure not to let your yarn tension get too tight.  When knitting, you actually need very little tension--just enough to keep the stitches from falling off the needle.  The needle size should dictate the stitch size, and at proper tension, you should be able to just about fit both needles inside the stitch.  If your gauge gets too tight, it can be difficult or painful to get the needles through the stitches.  When crocheting, it’s possible to accidentally pull a stitch too tight to get your hook into it (closing a slipknot), so make sure that your yarn-hand isn’t actually pulling away from the hook--just hold that hand still (or occasionally tug some reluctant yarn from the ball or skein) and let the hook pull as much yarn as you need.  If one of your stitches gets a little too small, and you’re having trouble inserting the hook from the top/front of the stitch, try gently turning the stitch and wiggling the hook into the back loop to loosen it slightly.  If a crochet stitch closes completely, try slipping a yarn needle into it and wiggling until it loosens enough to unravel the stitch and try again.
If you have grip issues, try working with larger hooks and needles, or try crochet hooks with enlarged grips.  Generally speaking, larger hooks and needles will be more comfortable on top of being easier to control.  If you like working big but only fall in love with lighter yarns (like I do), you can work multiple strands together to simulate a heavier yarn.  Crochet is especially well-suited to this; I often work two or four yarn strands at a time with a big hook to make blankets or scarves.  You may find it easier to wind the yarns together into a single combined skein, but I find that the added step isn’t often necessary or helpful, especially early in the piece when the individual skeins are large.

It’s easy to see why t-shirts have become so popular. In the age of athleisure, comfort is king and formal clothes are becoming less and less common. There’s hardly a more comfortable garment than a well-fitted t-shirt, which is neither too tight nor too loose, without scratchy labels or irritating collars. They’re also the most versatile of clothes. Some will only toddler tees for activities which demand no fashion—sport, sleeping, lounging around at home. But t-shirts are also an opportunity to show your interests to the world around you, whether you’re buying one or designing a custom t-shirt for your business, brand, event or group. If you show others what your favourite brand or movie is, you might find some new friends with something in common come and introduce themselves. Classic The classic cut is smart and flattering, with well fitted shoulders and sleeves that have a comfortable amount of space around the arms. It should hang straight, just below the waist without excess material. Baggy The oversized t-shirt has become much more popular in recent years. You could choose a t-shirt specifically cut in this way – which means it will fit around the upper body better – or opt for a size or two bigger. While the baggy shirt has been associated with the skater or hip hop look, recently it’s become a smarter style too; a crisp oversized t-shirt in black or white can look just as smart when worn right. We believe there will be a modifier in both programs because it’s designed for beginner and intermediate exercisers. If you’re looking for a bulking program, we’d first recommend Body Beast. You also shouldn’t expect to bulk up with this program. This is essentially a burn-out minute to blast more calories! #MBFA is very similar, but she adds in “Megan Minutes” at the end of each round. There are also 10-minute bonus workouts you can add on! They are Core, Lower Body Ignite, Upper Body Ignite and Full Body Ignite. Sunday focuses on recovery and stretching. An example of a move from this workout would be an inchworm to a push-up. These workouts are short, but they’re tough! You’ll be doing one move for a minute straight. Saturday workouts follow a different pace called, EMOMS (every minute on the minute). An example of an AMRAP circuit would be skier jumps, wide out punch, double cross jump, and then jumping rope. Tuesday and Thursday are cardio workouts where you’ll do as many rounds as possible (AMRAPS) of 4 moves. This type of training helps to challenge your body and balance more - thus burning more calories and getting the max out of each workout! You’ll do asymmetrical training where you’ll use one weight instead of two. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are your strength workouts. Each day includes a new workout, and you’ll never repeat the same workout twice!

I wanted to write some bratty Reader moment and thought of this. It got longer than expected 😅
You're sitting on the couch and reading a book. At least that's what you'd been doing until now. The plot just took a very weird turn that makes absolutely no sense to you, meaning that you've now lost interest and know that there's no way that you're going to finish the book.
You sigh, blowing air through your mouth forcefully and emitting a loud sound of exasperation while you tilt your head over the back of the couch. Great, now what?
Rolling your head to the side with another sigh, this one almost silent, you find Frank sitting at the living room table, his eyes focused on what he's doing on the laptop.
“Frank, I'm bored,” you moan dejectedly, pressing your lips into an exaggerated pout.
Frank neither moves nor says anything, his face never wavering from the screen.
“Frank! I'm-”
“Bored. Heard ya the first time,” Frank cuts in distractedly, scrolling down the page he's on with quick movements, but he's still not looking at you.
You throw the book to the side of the couch and give Frank an indignant glare. A glare that he, of course, doesn't see.
“Don't ignore me,” you complain sulkily.
“I'm workin',” Frank replies easily.
“Doesn't mean you have to ignore me.”
Frank meets your eyes for the first time with a neutral expression.
“Read another book.” He looks forward again, a frown forming between his eyes at what he's reading.
“Don’t wanna,” you moan, throwing your head back again with a huff. 
Frank stays silent again. You scoff and kneel up on the couch to face him fully, the table just a few feet away from the couch. 
“Come on, Frank. Take a break. You’ve been at it for hours.”
“Can’t.”
“Fraaaaank,” you lament, but he ignores you. “Ugh.”
You stand this time and saunter towards the table, swishing your hips enticingly. Something that Frank misses again. Or, maybe, he’s choosing to ignore it. You lean over the table, right across from him, and lower the lid of the laptop just enough to force him to look at you. 
“I wanna fuck,” you grin seductively, biting over your lower lip and stroking a finger along your chest. 
Frank levels you an unimpressed stare, blinking once, before he pulls the lid of the laptop back up. “No.” He pointedly looks into the screen again. 
You splutter in outrage at his easy dismissal and rise from your position over the table. 
“No? What-”
“Not now.”
“Then when?” You exclaim, throwing your arms up.
“Later.” Frank’s tone turns lower, irritation growing in it as his eyes meet yours again. “Or maybe not at all if you keep this up.”
You roll your eyes dramatically with a scoff and nearly miss his eyes clouding over with annoyance. It doesn’t bother you, you only stare back with a bored expression. Frank glances at the laptop, before he looks at you again and seems to come to a decision.

“When?” You continue, voice meek.

You open your mouth again, but stop yourself from saying more. You close your eyes again with a small sigh and try to get as comfortable as possible as you set out for waiting for as long as Frank chooses.
