The Proposal - One Shot
Finally getting around to posting this little one shot! Gosh, I love these two so much. They're so fun to write for âš
[Synopsis: At long last, Agustin works up the courage to propose to Julieta.]

----------
âOh myâŠâ
âIâŠuhâŠI looked at others, but I kept going back to this one. Do you think sheâll like it?â
Looking up from the ring in the little red box in her hand, Pepa did nothing but blink at AgustĂn for a second. âDo I think sheâll like it?â She raised a sculpted eyebrow at him. âHonestamente, I think sheâll love it, but you could have gone with the blade of grass idea from when we were kids and she still would have said yes.â
He chuckled under his breath at her comment.
âHave you decided where youâre going to ask her?â She gave him a look. âNot la cocina.â
âNot la cocina. She spends enough time in there already,â He rolled his eyes, shaking his head. âIâm taking her out for dinner tonight. We planned it a couple weeks ago, so that part is going to be normal. When I walk her home, Iâm going to take her to the treehouse and thatâs where Iâm going to ask her. I roped RomĂ©o in, so there are going to be candles and a basket of tortas waiting for us when we get there. I want it to be perfect for her. She means so much to me. More than she knows, honestly, and making her happy is all I care about.â
Pepa laid a hand over her heart, blinking back tears. âCan you marry me instead?â
âHola, Pepi, Iâm standing right here.â FĂ©lix reminded her, prompting her to look at him.
âSĂ, lo siento.â She smiled, bringing her free hand up to pat his chest.
Holding his hand out to take the ring box back from his â all being well â soon to be cunada, AgustĂn closed it and returned it to his pocket before straightening his jacket and taking a breath in an attempt to calm himself. He wasnât proposing for hours yet and he was already sweating through his shirt, so he dreaded to think what sort of state he would be in when the time actually came for him to ask Julieta to marry him. It was already a given that he was going to make a complete idiot of himself since that was all he ever did around her, but that was fortunately something she had grown to love about him over time and he was relieved.
All he had to do was keep from setting himself alight on the candles and heâd be fine.
âCould you two do me a favour? Act normal around her this afternoon? I know what sheâs like and if anythingâs out of the ordinary, sheâll know somethingâs going on.â He said.
âOf course.â Pepa and FĂ©lix nodded.
âGracias. I appreciate it. I should see her before I go, do you know where she is?â He asked.
âYou have known the girl since we were 5. Youâre really asking that question?â Pepa frowned.
He rolled his eyes, laughing at himself. âOf course. Iâll see you later.â
âAdiĂłs.â
âAdiĂłs.â
He turned away from then then, walking out of the sitting room and through the courtyard to la cocina where he knew his girlfriend would be, and when he got there he smiled at seeing her at the kitchen island. She was busy making arepas again, her speciality and a hit with those in town, and as usual she had a little flour on her face and in her hair. Her days were long and hard and there was no doubt in his mind that she was dead on her feet when she got into bed at night, but there was also no doubt in his mind that she loved her work. Her gift meant so much to her and she found so much happiness in helping those in need.
He tried his hardest to be quiet and discreet as he walked into the kitchen, wanting to surprise her, but he was never much good at being either of those things, so it came as very little surprise when she glanced his way. âYouâre still here? I thought you left a while ago.â She said, following him with her eyes as he approached her before he moved to stand behind her and slipped his arms around her waist, pressing a kiss into the side of her neck.
âFĂ©lix wanted to speak to me about something, so we had a drink. I thought Iâd come and say goodbye before I went home.â He replied.
âYouâre sweet.â She turned her head, accepting the soft kiss he gave her.
He smiled when they parted and rested his chin on her shoulder. âExcited about tonight?â
âVery,â She beamed. âWe donât go out enough.â
âI know, but I promise to make tonight perfect for you, Amor.â He told her gently.
âAs long as I have you there with me, it will be,â She assured him. âI love you.â
âI love you too,â He buried a kiss in her curls, breathing her in. âSo much.â
----------
Opening her mouth so Gus could feed her the last small piece of apple pie, sitting across from him at their table outside the restaurant, she gave him a smile as she ate it slowly before leaning back in her seat and reaching for her glass of wine. âThat was deliciosa, but I donât think I could eat anything else,â She laughed as she set her glass back down after taking a sip, her love for him deepening when he laid his hand palm-up on the table and gestured for her to take it which she did. âYou didnât have to go to all this trouble for me, though I love you for doing so. I would have been happy with a picnic like we usually do.â
He shook his head, bringing her hand up so he could kiss the back of her palm. âI know you would have, but we have gone on hundreds of picnics and I felt like doing something special for you for once,â He admitted. âI wouldnât have gotten to see you in that dress if we went for a picnic either, so I count myself lucky for more reasons than one. You look so beautiful. Have I told you that?â
âOnce or twiceâŠâ Her cheeks burned as she lost his gaze for a second. âMaybe four times.â
âWell, you do.â
âGracias. Pepa spent three hours doing my hair and makeup for me, so I would hope so.â
Dropping her hand, he reached over the table and stroked her face with the back of a hand. He said nothing, but the look in his eye was more than enough and she smirked at him.
âYou know you can kiss me.â She reminded him.
âYou donât think it would be inappropriate?â He teased.
âI didnât say that,â She slid forward a little on her chair. âBut if you think Iâm the sort of girl to let being kissed in front of people embarrass me, you really donât know me as well as I thought you did which is a shame,â She brought her elbow to rest on the table, settling her chin in her palm. âSo, Rojas, are you going to kiss me? Or did you really get my hopes up just to go and disappoint me?â
âOh, the last thing I want to do is disappoint you.â
âIâm glad to hear it.â
Shaking his head at her, he brushed a lone curl behind her ear before hooking his finger beneath her chin and leaning in to capture her lips with his. He made sure to keep it chaste, what with there being other couples sat around them, but at the same time he poured all that he wanted to say to her into it. It was long and soft and tender and when he pulled back eventually, sucking at her bottom lip, her eyes delayed opening and her breathing was a little uneven and it thrilled him to no end. âIs that what you wanted?â He asked, leaning back in his chair again when she opened her eyes and looked at him.
She managed a little nod, still catching her breath.
âIâll go and see to the bill,â He told her. âI was thinking we might take the long way back?â
âSounds good to me.â She smiled.
Looking at her for a second longer, he leaned in and kissed her cheek. âI love you.â
âI love you too.â She replied before he got up from the table and went inside the restaurant.
It had been a wonderful night and she had loved spending some time alone with him, but she couldnât shake the feeling that something was going on. It all started with Pepa insisting she let her do her hair and makeup for her. She did ask if she wanted her to whenever she and Gus had a date planned, that much was true, but normally she backed down when she politely declined. Not tonight though. She never even gave her the chance to refuse, instead grabbing her by the arm and dragging her up the stairs so that she could get her sorted.
What truly convinced her that something was going on though was the way Gus had been acting all night. He was always a bit of a nervous wreck around her, even after all this time, and it was just one of the things she loved and found endearing about him, but it seemed to be on another level tonight. Heâd stumbled over his words, heâd played with his tie many times â a tell-tale sign he was anxious â and she could tell by his eyes that something was going on with him. It was no secret that everyone knew something that she didnât.
Deep down, she felt she had an idea what it was.
Each time she thought about it she got excited, but she didnât want to get her hopes up.
If it happened, then it happened. She would have to wait and see.
She was pulled from her thoughts by Gus resting his hands on her shoulders from behind a little while later, the two of them sharing a smile when she looked over her shoulder at him after he kissed her crown. âWell, thatâs dinner sorted,â He said as he pulled her chair out for her so she could stand, his hand reaching for hers before she took it and they started walking away from the little restaurant. âSeñor Alvarez said our meal was on him because you helped Francesca when she got hurt the other day. He appreciated it and wanted to do something to thank you. I like that. Itâs about time someone acknowledged your work.â
âI donât need acknowledgement though,â She replied. âI donât do it for that reason.â
âNo, I know that,â He squeezed her hand. âI also know there are some people in town who like to take advantage though and donât appreciate what you do for them enough. I know how much you have to do just to be able to care for them. I see you working in la cocina for hours on end and I see you exhausted at the end of the day, but the townspeople donât see either of those things and so they donât realize how lucky they are. I like it when someone does something like this for you because it proves they appreciate what you do for them.â
She hummed. âSeñor Alvarez is so kind. Remind me to thank him for this, would you?â
âI will,â He nodded before dropping her hand so that he could put an arm around her and draw her close while they walked. He felt her cuddle up to him after a time and tightened his hold of her, running his hand along her back through her cardigan when she laid her head on his chest. âAre you warm enough?â
âIt has gone a little chillier now you mention itâŠâ Her eyes sparkled when she looked at him.
Knowing what she was up to, he stopped walking for a second and playfully rolled his eyes at her while starting to unbutton his jacket. He removed it and draped it around her shoulders, untucking her curls from beneath the collar and seeing to it that she was covered before putting his arm back around her. âBetter?â He asked as they continued walking.
âBetter,â She buried her nose in the fabric and breathed him in. âYou are such a caballero.â
âOnly for you.â He mumbled against her forehead, kissing her there.
âSo I should hope.â She chuckled.
A comfortable silence fell over them as they went on walking for a few minutes, neither of them feeling the need to say much, but when they were a little distance from the treehouse he looked her way again. âI was thinking we could go to the treehouse for a while,â He told her while playing with the ends of her curls. âI just donât want to say goodnight to you yet and itâs not that late. Iâm sure your mama wonât mind and Pepa and Bruno can cover for you if we get there a little later than planned. What do you say?â
Pulling his jacket further around herself, she gave him a small smile. âI want to.â
He failed to keep from lowering his head to brush his lips against hers. âGood.â
It was clear she was getting tired and it wasnât at all surprising given the long afternoon sheâd had. He didnât have to worry about that though. Once they were at the treehouse, he would propose and then they could sit and talk and relax for a while before he took her home.
It was all in hand.
When they reached the treehouse, he let her take his jacket from around her shoulders and give it to him before he watched her start climbing the ladder. It was then that his heart began to pound. Once she reached the top, she would see the treats and the candles and it would become clear to her â if she hadnât worked it out already â that something was going on. He would have little time to prepare when he got up there, so he would have to make something up on the spot. He would just say what he felt. It would make things a lot easier.
He started climbing once she was up there and, as expected, when he reached the platform she was standing there with wide eyes. She was blown away, he could tell, but she was smiling and he took that as a very good sign. âGusâŠâ She breathed. âWhâŠwhat is all of this?â
Rubbing his hands on his trousers to stop them sweating, he was mindful of the candles as he approached her before taking her hands in his. A silent moment passed as they looked at each other, but he soon realized there was only one thing left to do and so he reached into his jacket pocket for the ring box. He heard her breath catch at the sight of it and he let out a soft chuckle, opening the box with a trembling hand to reveal the ring he picked out for her while getting down onto one knee. âOh myâŠâ Her voice trembled as she held back tears.
âFunny,â He laughed, rubbing at his neck. âPepa had the exact same reaction.â
She snorted gently as he took her by the hand again and smoothed his thumb across her knuckles. âGus, IâŠIâm not sure what toâŠâ She stammered, quietening when he hushed her.
âI have been thinking about doing this for longer than I can remember,â He told her while trying to keep his hand from shaking. âYou were the only real friend I had for the longest time. You were the only person in town who didnât think I was stupid and you always defended me even though you didnât have to. I donât know the exact moment I fell in love with you, but that means being in love with you is all Iâve ever really known and I think thatâs a life well spent if you ask me. You mean everything to me. You always have and all I want to do is spend the rest of my life reminding you of that.â
She tried her best, but she couldnât keep the tears from falling at his words.
âI planned on writing out what I was going to say to you. I sat down to do it a hundred times, but I kept throwing what I wrote away because it didnât sound right,â He admitted. âFor the longest time, I couldnât work out where I was going wrong and why it wasnât working out, but then it came to me. I couldnât do it because thereâs no one way to describe you. No one way to tell you how much I love and want you. You are the most loving, unique, wonderful person I have ever known and why you chose me when you could have had any man you wanted will never make sense to me, but Iâm so thankful that you did.â
âI chose you because you were â are â the only man for me,â She said. âI love you so much.â
âI love you too and thatâs why I want to spend the rest of my life with you,â It was becoming something of a challenge for him to keep his own emotions in check now. âI want to go on adventures with you and have children with you and â even though we donât need to think about it yet â I want to grow old with you. I canât imagine my life without you a part of it and I donât want to. It would be so pointless. I want to spend my life making you as happy as I can, Amor, and all Iâm asking is that you give me the chance to do that.â
Her heart was pounding hard against her ribs and she could feel her impatience increasing.
âJulieta Madrigal,â He took the ring from the box. âWill you marry me?â
âYes!â She squeaked, smiling like a fool through tears as he slid the ring onto her finger before he got to his feet again and took her waist in his hands, pulling her close to him. Reaching up to bury her hands in his hair, she pulled him down into the deepest kiss and felt him tighten his hold of her as they sank into it. It was soft and warm and full of passion, that simple action saying more in that moment than either of them could hope to. For years, they had had to be so careful and now all of that was coming to an end and it was a relief. Before long, they would be married and no longer have to worry about being seen like this.
She could have remained wrapped up in his embrace for the rest of time, honestly, but the need to catch her breath was growing stronger by the minute and the last thing she wanted to do was faint. Deciding to end the kiss, she let her hands settle upon his neck and kissed him softly again before pulling back enough to touch her forehead to his. âAy, you took your time,â She breathed. âI thought youâd never do it. I thought Bruno would be married first.â
âBrunoâs not even courting anyone.â He laughed.
âExactlyâŠâ She shook her head. âI donât have to worry about that anymore though.â
He hummed in agreement. âNo, youâre my prometida now.â
âI love the way that sounds,â She giggled. âAre you certain though? Certain, certain?â
âCertain, certain,â He echoed. âAnd you? Youâll be stuck with me forever after the wedding.â
âYou know,â She went onto her tiptoes to kiss him again. âThatâs a life sentence Iâm happy to accept.â
----------
He tucked a curl from her face and tucked it behind her ear, sighing to himself as he pulled the blanket they were sharing a little further over her while she napped on him. She hadnât been asleep long really, half an hour at most, but heâd have to wake her soon so he could take her home and he didnât want to. He would have spent all night up there with her if he could â they had in the past â but he knew that wouldnât be an option this time. Her mamĂĄ would be waiting up to make sure he got her home safe and heâd worked hard enough to get on her good side, so the last thing he wanted to do was wreck that tonight of all nights.
No, he had to take her home at some point, but he felt heâd be safe a little while longer.
Holding her a little tighter, he let her snuggle into him in her sleep before kissing her brow when she laid her head on his chest. It felt so natural, holding her in such a way, making sure she slept. Should she have been at home, she would have been in the kitchen making all manner of things ready for tomorrow. He knew she never went to bed until past midnight. She saw the end of one day and the beginning of the next, but that would change when he went to live with her after the wedding.
He knew she was a busy woman and had a lot to do and he respected that, but he would also make sure she refrained from working herself into an early grave. If she wasnât in bed by a certain time, heâd go and tell her to go and get some sleep. Heâd make her if he had to because he cared about the townspeople, yes, but just as her duty was to them, his duty was to her and heâd make sure he looked after her. It would be something they fought about at times, her ridiculous schedule, he knew that much, but there was no doubt in his mind that they would come to some compromise eventually.
Her moving in his arms with an incoherent mumble pulled him from his thoughts and he looked down at her, smiling and stroking her face with the back of a hand when she tilted her head back on his chest. âHolaâŠâ He whispered, feeling her tangle her leg with his.
âHola,â She echoed, giving him a guilty look. âLo siento. You planned this and I fell asleep.â
âYou had a long day. I knew youâd be tired tonight,â He soothed with a shake of his head, passing a hand over her wild curls which earned him a smile. âI should take you home soon.â
She made a sound of complaint at that before sitting up slightly and turning onto her front against him, the two of them sharing a smile as she played with his tie and he ran his hand up and down her back. âWe could spend tonight up here. We have snacks. We have pillows.â
âI want to,â He sighed, kissing her. âYou have no idea how much, but your mama knows where you are and you know what she can be like. She wonât go to bed until youâre home and if I donât get you back soon, sheâs not going to be pleased with me. It took me a long time to get her on my side and IâŠI just donât want to do anything to ruin that. I want her to like me. I want her to think of me as suitable for you, but I need to prove myself to her for that to happen and getting you home on time is part of that.â
âIs it wrong of me to wish you werenât so decent all the time?â She huffed.
He laughed, wrapping his arms tight around her when she laid down again and tucked her head beneath his chin. âWe can spend the night up here whenever we like when weâre married,â He pointed out. âNo one will ask questions, we wonât have to sneak around, and Pepa and Bruno wonât have to come up with some stupid story for your mama. Everything will be different then.â
âCan we get married tomorrow?â She murmured against his chest.
âIâd take you to the church and marry you now if I thought I could.â
âImagine what MamĂĄ would say if we went back there married.â
âHonestly, Iâm more worried about what she would do to me if we did,â
Looking at him again, she curled a hand into his shirt. âYou really care about her opinion.â
âI think she is an amazing woman. Even more so since I found out what she had to go through before all of this,â He replied. âI have so much respect for her and I have a lot to be thankful to her for. You being the main thing. I want her to feel like she can trust me to take care of you. She doesnât think Iâm worthy and I agree, but I love you and Iâm going to prove to her that I can be worthy of you. It might take years and it might be something I never manage, but I need to try. Your family is the most important thing to you, I know that, so I need to make sure theyâre as important to me as they are to you.â
âMi familia is important to me, but youâre more important to me than anything.â She said.
âI am?â He asked.
âConsidering I once told MamĂĄ Iâd leave here to be with you, I would say so.â
âYou really would have given all of this up just to be with me?â
âI would give up anything to be with you,â Moving closer to him under the blanket, she draped an arm over his stomach and hummed happily when he brushed his nose against hers. âIâm never going to stop being grateful to my papa for what he did for us, butâŠbut none of it â my gift, the miracle, Casita â means anything to me if I canât share it with you. I hope it never comes down to it, but if I ever had to choose between all of this or staying with you then I know which choice Iâd make. It has and always will be you. I mean that.â
Cupping her cheek in his hand beneath her curls, he looked her in the eye. âI feel the same.â
âYou do?â She raised an eyebrow at him.
âI do,â He assured her. âThe exact sameâŠâ
----------
It was throwing it down with rain and the two of them were soaked through, but neither of them cared in the slightest as they stood there caught up in their embrace. Heâd wanted her to head inside the second they got back, to go and change and get herself something warm to drink before she got sick, but she had other ideas. Getting caught in the downpour made her realise she had never been kissed in the rain before and, oddly, it was something that had always sounded wonderful to her. In her mind, there was no time like the present to see what it was like and so sheâd just grabbed and kissed him.
Heâd been stunned for a time, something sheâd been expecting since heâd had very little warning before sheâd moved in, but he eventually sank into it and it was every bit as wonderful as she thought it would be. His hands on her, the sound of the rain falling around them, it just brought her a happiness that she couldnât put into words.
Letting a hand move up his chest and find the side of his neck, she smiled into the kiss when he pulled her further into him by the waist. She could feel his warmth through the layers they both had on and it made her shiver, but to him that meant she was cold and so he pulled back to look at her. âYouâre cold,â He said breathlessly. âYou should go in.â
âGus, Iâm not cold,â She laughed. âRight now, Iâm anything but.â
He chuckled at that, brushing her wet curls from her face. âI still think you should go in.â
âBored of me already? I thought youâd last longer than two hours.â She feigned hurt.
âIâŠâ
Ay, AgustĂn, Iâm playing.â
He was relieved. âI just donât want to be the reason you end up sick.â
âI know,â She patted his chest. âYouâre right, I should go in. Kiss me first though?â
âI guess I can manage that.â He tutted, pulling her close again and kissing her soundly.
Unlike the first time, the two of them barely had any time at all to sink into the kiss before the front door swung open and they pulled apart to see Pepa standing there in the doorway, arms crossed. âSo, you both decided to start your engagement off with the flu! Fabulous idea.â She said.
âPepaâŠâ Julieta groaned, turning to look at her. âYou canât give us a minute?â
âAs your hermana, it is my job to make sure everything goes smoothly from now until the wedding and making sure you stay healthy is part of that,â Pepa argued, reaching for the orange umbrella next to her and opening it before making her way outside and taking her sister by the wrist. âNow, say goodnight.â
Julieta glared at her before turning back to Gus with a smile. âBuenos noches.â
âGus, say goodnight to Juli.â Pepa instructed, making him laugh.
âBuenos noches, corazĂłn.â He said, looking at Julieta a second time.
Before either of them had time to process what was happening, Pepa started pulling her in the direction of the house and the two of them shared a knowing look when she glanced over her shoulder at him. Just before Casita closed its doors behind her and her hermana, Gus gave her a little wave which she returned before she turned to Pepa with a huff. âYouâd kill me if I interrupted you and FĂ©lix like that.â She grumbled.
âIâd hit you with lightning.â Pepa nodded. âBut thatâs not important. Hand. Now.â
Julieta brought her hand up, the initial irritation dying down little by little, and she smiled when her sister brought a hand to her chest. âYou should have heard him. He made me cry.â
âBruno made you cry when he ate the last polvorosa last month. Doesnât take much.â
âFair point. Honestly though, he said the most wonderful things.â
Pepa smiled. âHe really loves you. I just donât know why it took him so long to ask!â
âI said the same,â She snorted. âIt doesnât matter now though. He asked me.â
Reaching out to rest a hand on her arm through her cardigan, Pepa rubbed it gently before nodding to the staircase. âMamĂĄ went up with a cup of tea not long ago and told me to send you to her when you got home. If you want my advice, Iâd take a long bath and change before you go and see her because we both know she wonât be pleased with Gus for failing to get you home before it rained. He doesnât need her ruining all of this for him.â
She nodded in agreement. âGracias, Pep.â
âDe nada, just remember this when I ask to be Matron of Honour.â Pepa smirked.
Standing there for a moment longer, she gave her a smile and a playful roll of her eyes before moving around her and making her way to the stairs so she could head for the bathroom. She was silent as she crept past her motherâs bedroom, not ready for her to know she was home, and when she reached the bathroom she breathed a sigh of relief as she entered before shutting the door behind her and pressing her back up against it.
She brought her hand up again then to admire the beautiful ring Gus gave her, the love she had for him deepening when she thought about what it symbolised. It was more than a representation of his love for her. It was proof of his dedication. A promise to stand by her through thick and thin, something heâd always done but something far more crucial now they were to be married. It was such a small thing, this tiny band of metal, but it meant more to her than words could say and she would treasure it all her life long.
It was beginning at long last, her life.
She had no idea what the future had in store for her and AgustĂn, but it would be an adventure.
One that she couldnât wait to embark on.

FĂ©lix, AgustĂn and Julieta watching Pepa and Bruno arguing over something stupid:
AgustĂn: I think you stole all the braincells in the womb.
Julieta: That's what happens when you don't use them. They get stolen.
Félix: Pepa doesn't need braincells to be beautiful.
Bruno and Pepa hear them.
Bruno: Hey, I have braincells!!!
Pepa: What was that, Félix?
AgustĂn: I think you better start running...
Félix: Oops... *starts running*
Pepa: FĂLIX GET BACK HERE! *runs after him*
AgustĂn: Someone stole FĂ©lix's braincells too...
Julieta: *sigh* Let's go get lunch started.
Bruno, left alone in the room: ...I have braincells.

My continued journey of asking more characters for Tree Fiddy. I cannot believe how much of a difficult customer Eugene Fitzherbert was. At least most of the Madrigal family fell for it. đ I expected Mirabel to be the most likely to fall for my antics, but she was the only Madrigal family member to see through me straight away. It took Dolores some time. Also, I'm surprised that Julieta and I had most of our conversation in Spanish without it being my doing. Good thing I studied Spanish at a university even if I made a clumsy mistake. I need to stop pestering random characters for tree fiddy so I can draw some pictures and update my phone background (or even post more pictures here in general).
Update: I forgot to post my conversation with Pepa so here it is:

Encanto TV Show
So. I had Ideas. I want to know peoples thoughts before I actually start writing. (Ignore the fact that i'm almost 4 years late to the fandom)
Season 1
1 - Pilot: The Family Madrigal (Whole Fam Feat: Mirabel)  Mirabel helps the family adjust to healthier habits in the early days after Casita is rebuilt, gently guiding them into a new chapter of life together. 2 - A Room of Ones Own (Mirabel)  Mirabel feels like the family is avoiding her and gets really upset and lonely, only for the family and Casita to reveal that they made her her own room! 3 - Luisa Lets Go (Luisa)  After accidentally breaking something during a vulnerable moment, Luisa realizes she still ties her worth to being strong and learns what it means to rest. 4 - Camilo Cares To Much (Camilo)  Camilo shapeshifts nonstop to please everyone, but when a young fan copies him a little too well, he starts to unravel. 5 - Of Rats and Men (Bruno and Julieta)  When a strange illness spreads in town, Brunoâs rats are unfairly blamed. He and Julieta team up to solve the mystery, healing a bit of Brunoâs reputation. 6 - Antonios Big Adventure (Antonio)  Antonio discovers a creature that canât speak to him, forcing him to explore other ways of understanding, and learning that connection takes more than magic. 7 - Game Night (Madrigal 3rd Gen + Mariano)  The Madrigal kids (plus Mariano) have a game night that quickly devolves into chaos, competition, and comedy, before ending in giggles and heartfelt bonding. 8 - Flashback 1 (Madrigal 2nd Gen as Teens)  Teenage Julieta, Pepa, Bruno, FĂ©lix, and AgustĂn navigate early gifts, clumsy romance, and Almaâs rising expectations during the miracleâs first years. 9 - Guys Night (Agustin, Felix, and Bruno)  FĂ©lix and AgustĂn drag Bruno out for a night in town, challenging the village to treat him better while Bruno learns how to loosen up and be seen again.
10 - Power Swap (Whole Fam)
The family wakes up with their gifts completely shuffled. Cue hilarious chaos, instant regrets, and a whole new respect for each otherâs daily struggles. 11 - An Artists Touch (Isabela and Mirabel)  Mirabel and Isabela try to collaborate on a mural, but their wildly different creative styles clash until they find a way to blend beauty and mess into something uniquely theirs. 12 - Pranksters (Mirabel and Camilo Feat: Whole Fam)  Mirabel and Camilo start a petty prank war that escalates into full family participation where everyone picks a side. 13 - Flashback 2 (Madrigal 3rd Gen. Pre Camilo and Mirabels Door ceremonies)  A goofy happy episode about the Madrigal grandkids before Camilo and Mirabel both ahd their gift ceremonies. 14 - Still Abuela (Abuela Alma)  As the village moves forward and relies less on her, Alma questions her place in the family, until Mirabel reminds her sheâs still their light, even without the candle. 15 - Bedtime with Bruno (Antonio and Bruno)  Bruno tells Antonio a bedtime story, and one by one the other kids gather to listen. Bruno feels like a part of the family finally. 16 - The Babysitters (Mirabel and Camilo)  Mirabel and Camilo babysit a group of chaotic village kids and clash hard on parenting styles, until they learn that fun and structure can coexist. 17 - La Ratonovela (Rat Telenovela Feat:Bruno and Dolores)  Bruno narrates one of his full-on dramatic rat telenovelas in person for once while Dolores keeps interrupting with ideas and questions. 18 - Hearing Hearts (Mariano +Madrigal 3rd Gen)  Mariano tries to plan a romantic surprise for Dolores, while navigating the absolute nightmare of dating someone who can hear literally everything. 19 - Flashback 3 (Pepa Feat: Newborn Antonio)  The story of Pepaâs pregnancy and the day Antonio was born. Its chaos obviously. 20 - Birthday (Madrigal Triplets)  The triplets celebrate their first birthday together since Bruno returned, unlocking sweet childhood memories, unresolved guilt, and the quiet power of forgiveness.

Au inspired by inside out ? The madrigals are a family that each represent a different emotion. And use their abilities to make people feel those certain emotions.
Julieta represents tranquility
Peppa represents anger
Bruno represents fear
Isabella represents pride
Dolores represents sadness
Luisa represents trust ( I actually have no idea for Luisa )
Camilo represents joy
And Antonio is still too young to represent one emotion
Felix and Agustin are regular humans who married Julietta and Peppa. Not knowing most of their children will take after their mothers
Alma basically remains stern and emotionless most of the time. Sometimes rather uncaring
Mirabel is a special girl. She represents every emotion at once
Lmao Alma probably canât catch a mf break đđ LMAOOOO some family members arenât allowed to use their ablilities as much as othersâŠhm đ€§

Helloo! It's me, again. I loved ur last blog, the bed comment made be chuckle! I'm just slowly putting myself out there. How about..Reader who has straight or wavy hair and then the next day, they come with curly hair(temporarily)! Just a little surprise for Camilo. He'd probably just reassure Reader that he likes their natural hair and then Reader explains that it's temporary! I'll let ur creativity go wild.<33

âMI VIDA!â the young madrigal gasped in surprise, âyour hair! it looks⊠tan hermosa!â
you smile sweetly, unsure of what else to say to camiloâs lovely compliment.
âbut, mi querida, i most say. i think your hair looks gorgeous just the way it was, but this new style is so.. is so.. cadera!â
your boyfriend replied as he gave a cheeky grin. âcaderaâ is something his father, felix, would always say when trying to fit in with the teenagers of the madrigal family, like father like son, i guess.
you felt camilo lightly comb through your curls, as you sigh dreamily.
âwell, querida niña, just now i love you no matter your hairstyle, si?â
âoh âmilo itâs temporary, just a por cierto!!â

Steven Universe Recast
Retelling Steven Universe using CGI characters with a theme of magical creatures instead of gems. This is going to be a lengthy one, so you might want to sit down.
We haveâŠ
The Main Humans:
Antonio Madrigal in the role of Steven. In this world, fairy/ human hybrids are called changelings. Aside from talking to animals, he also has the powers of other Madrigal members, such as healing, enhanced strength, growing plants, affecting the weather, and best of all; Mirabelâs power of listening.
Felix Madrigal is the role of Greg. I guess heâd have a different surname in this story. Or maybe he was married to Peppa, and she passed away. Iâll leave that up to you. Â
The Crystel Gems:
Nimona the pucca in the role of Amethyst. Pucca are shapeshifters who serve as foot soldiers in the Fay army. But Nim would rather play and cause mischief.
Mavka the tree nymph in the role of Pearl. Nymphs, like pearls are cultivated to serve whoever possesses their soul plant. But Mavka was emancipated to cultivate her own path.
Sweet Dream the fusion in the role of Garnet. Sheâs a fusion of Branch the scout troll (in the role of Ruby) and Poppy the wood troll (in the role of Sapphire). Fusion between different species, even different ranks of magic creatures, is forbidden.
Supporting Protagonists:
Nora aka Anansi in the role of Bismuth: Well-intentioned overzealous butch warrior. Spider people are used for manual labor in the Fay world, but they rebelled and went on the lam, with Anansi as their leader.
Mike the cyclops in the role of Peridot. Cyclops are bred to be soldiers, but since Mike was born âdefectiveâ he works as a scout.
Celia the gorgon in the role of Lapis Lazuli. Gorgons are architects with stone powers. During the war, Selia was petrified by accident and left behind when the Fay left. Â
Sophia the First in the role of Connie. This was a hard role to fill out, and Sophiaâs the only character I can think of whose young enough to be matched with Antonio. I think theyâre a good couple.
Chunky the death cat in the role of Lion. He was bred to be a war mount, but he ran away from the battlefield.
K-Pop pretty boy Merlin in the role of Lars. Wizard wannabe who (spoiler) is eventually turned into a dwarf and becomes a rebel leader.
Sweet precious Snow White in the role of Sadie. Badass with a heart of gold.
The Off-Colors:
Terry and Terri as the Rutile Twins. Theyâre conjoined cyclops twins who were deemed âuselessâ at birth but were rescued by Cory.
Pomni in the role of Rhodonite. Sheâs a fusion between Gnomeo and Juliet.
Oh in the role of Padparadscha. Heâs a goblin bred for clean-up duty, but heâd rather play in messes than clean them.
Cory the Manticore in the role of Fluorite. Sheâs a fusion between a vampire, a were-lion, a scorpion centaur, and a satyr. She rescued the other off-colors from being killed by the Fay.
The Antagonists:
Chackel the vampire in the role of Jasper. Heâs an assassin who loves his job and canât stand letting his prey get away.
Lou the siren in the role of Holly Blue Agate. Self-righteous control freak. Male sirens are rare, so they get special ranks, usually as instructors or enforcers.
Manon aka Puppeteer in the role of Aquamarine. A pixie retriever with the power to paralyze people (plus she kind of looks like Aqua)Â
Laverna the pixie the role of Emerald. Sheâs an inspector in charge of hunting down dissidents.
Elves Velvet and Veneer in the role of the Zircons. Veneer is the blue one, Velvet is the green one. Elves are in charge of upholding the law and seeing if itâs been broken. These two are very bad at their jobs.
The K-Pop Quintet in the role of the Ruby Squad. Scout Trolls similar to Branch who seek out missing VIPs. Â
The Diamond Authority: They are based on legendary Fairy Queens.
The Director as Gloriana the White Diamond. Creator of the Law.
Mayura as Mab the Blue Diamond. Interpreter of the Law.
Style Queen as Titania the Yellow Diamond. Enforcer of the Law.
Then thereâs Sun Yi, who is based on the Celestial Weaving Maid of Asian lore.
CosmoBug (my favorite variation of Ladybug) as Pink Diamond and Sun Yi as Rose Quartz. Thereâs lots of symbolism in this transformation; she goes from a racially vague unsure teenager to a fully Chinese-coded mature grown-up.
Queen Bee in the role of Yellow Pearl. Sheâs a daffodil nymph.
Miraculer in the role of Blue Pearl. Sheâs a tulip nymph.
Raggatha in the role of Cracked Pearl. Sheâs a rose nymph whose right eye was replaced with a button. Long story.
Finally thereâs Anxiety in the role of Spinal. Sheâs a personal companion brownie assigned to Sun Yi. But she kept freaking out over everything, so Sun left her with the nymphs.
Character fusions coming soon.

What miraculous do you think are the ideal matches for the madrigals?
Also I love your art
It depends on if you want to go by a strict gift basis or personality. Some of those aren't exclusive though-
TLDR-
Julieta- Wayzz, Alma- Nooroo or Liiri, Pepa- Daizzi/Longg, Bruno- Sass or Tikki, Felix- Diazzi, Augustin- Kalkki, Isabela- Pollen, Dolores- Longg or Barkk, Luisa- Pollen & Duusu, Camilo- Pollen, Antonio- Duusu/unclear, and Mirabel- any of them really.
Bonus Turtle Julieta who didn't make it into AVB- Her name is Hicotea

Julieta for example I think would do well with the turtle both because it's the closest to her gift (since besides the ladybug there isn't a healing power) and I think she and Wayzz would get along well.
Alma would theoretically either have the butterfly (Matriarch deal) or the Ladybug and Cat. But I don't think she'd get along with any of the kwamis very well. Maybe Liiri, but she'd not here.
Pepa would power wise have the dragon, and I think in personality it fits okay. But I would personally either give her Wayzz or Daizzi. Possibly also Orikko.
Bruno would have either Fluff or Sass based on his gift and I think he'd get along with both. I also think he and Tikki would get along (hence Cochineal) and Plagg would have a similar dynamic with him that he does with Adrien, albeit less parental/familial, more platonic. I think he and Mullo would also get along.
Felix would get along with Daizzi, Ziggy, or Orikko. All three seem to thrive on holders with high energy and positive attitude
Augustin could do well with Wayzz and possible Kaalki, since she's probably help with his clumsiness through sheer determination. As well as Stompp who would go "Fuck it, lets just throw shit." I gave him Sass in AVB since I figured he'd be willing to try a million times to get it right, but its not my fist pick.
Isabela would probably do best with Pollen, both because haha Bee, but also- Pollen is a very loyal bee. She calls Isabela her queen but if her queen wants to throw color bombs and do fancy acrobatics with vines? Bravo! Keep going. I stand by the idea that Isabela and Longg could never really get along. Second choices would be Xuppu or Trixx since they'd encourage her to have fun but Trixx for sure would not let her get away with being bitchy. Tikki would also probably do her good.
Dolores could still do well with Mullo at the best of times but I'd be more inclined to give her Pollen, Longg, or Barkk. Pollen and Long would be very respectful of her sensitive hearing while still helping push her, and Barkk would bite anyone being too loud. She is very loyal. Dolores would probably also do well with Plagg for the simple fact he is high demand for food, but very apathetic the rest of the time.
Luisa would match with Roaar in terms of gifts but personality wise I think Pollen, Duusu, Kalkki, or Barkk. With I think Pollen or Duusu being the strongest two.
Camilo would match with Trixx for powers but I wasn't kidding in A Lawless Cat when I said I thought he'd make a good Bee. They're leaders and need to hold attention, but can get in a good sting if you turn your back. Other pick would be Orikko.
Antonio I think does well with the Peacock but otherwise he's a bit to young to know what other miraculous he would thrive with. His compassion would potentially also do well with the butterfly.
And now Mirabel, the character who i think has the widest picks.
Sticking to Cannon Encanto Mirabel I still think she'd have the widest variety. Obviously Nooroo is the top pick, Mirabel likes to help people but most of the time she's teaching them to help themselves first. Even to her own detriment. I think she and Tikki would thrive as two creative spirits, same with Ziggy. Her compassion and good understanding of feelings and others, would make her do well with Duusu. Plagg would encourage ehr to fight for herself, Liiri would want her to break free. Xuupu, Trixx, Orikko, and Diazzi would help her bring fun back into her life as well as spread her strengths to others. She's intuitive enough to work well with Sass, Roarr would push her to take power into her hands and be heard. Stompp would teach her to defend herself. The only kwami I think she wouldn't get on perfectly with is Longg, but even then it wouldn't be particularly bad. It's just that- Mirabel has specifically gone her whole life seeing herself as Imperfect which would strain her connection to him.

Antonio Madrigal's Journey - Chapter 1: Only the beginning of the adventure
Pepa paced around her room as wind swirls around her feet and a cloud drips water on her head. She dreaded this day, as did Felix. Yeah, Pepa, her hermana, and hermano did this at his age, but that doesn't mean she won't be any less worried. Today was the day after Antonio's twelfth birthday. A day where he finally sets out on his own to earn the right to keep his gift.
Their journey wasn't all that unsafe, it was rather pleasant. Save for almost getting drowned in a mudslide. But hey, they still kept their gifts in the end and met amazing people that they are still friends with till this day.
And it's not like all the other madrigal journeys were unsafe, heck most of them barely even got a paper cut on theirs. Mirabel didn't get a gift, but she still went out on her own anyway when she turned twelve.
It was unexpected but everyone understood her need to go. It was her birth given right regardless of a gift. Thankfully she was able to find a witch on her journey who taught her everything she needed to know about magic. In the end she still had fun and met amazing people like all the other madrigals did.
But still, Pepa was worried. Something in her soul told her something was legitimately wrong. Maybe she could ask Bruno for a vision? Yes! That was perfectâŠwhy didnât she think of this earlier?
While Felix was sleeping Pepa snuck out of their shared room and quietly stepped over to Brunos. She wasnât sure if Dolores was awake or not but she surely did not want to wake her up. Her room wasnât all that sound proof as it is.
So slowly and quietly, she crept to Brunoâs room and knocked on the door five times. After a few moments or so, she knocked againâŠand again. Soon enough, Bruno opened the door.
âJeez Pepa, I heard you! And I already know why you're here so come in.â Bruno blue a raspberry as he let his sister in his room.
âDid you have a vision?âÂ
âYesâ
âWhat did you see?â
â...do you want me to tell you or do you want to see for yourself?â Bruno looked at his sister worriedly. He already saw what was on the vision tablet and therefore, wished he didnât have one at all.Â
âWhy are you asking me thatâŠisâŠis something going to happen to Antonio?â She looked her brother straight in the eye as she asked this.Â
Bruno nodded.
âIâll ask again, would you rather me tell you are see for yourself, Pepaâ
-
Antonio had been awake since 6:30 this morning. He was so excited. How could he sleep? This was such an amazing experience...but he was also a little scared. And sad.
He was leaving his home for the first time. He was leaving his family for the first time. Pico has been listening to his endless ramblings since 6:30 this morning as well. Much to his dismay.
"I don't know how to feel about this Pico, on one hand. We're going on an adventure. On the other we're leaving home! Leaving the family behind and...I just don't know...I-"
"So, sleep is not on our schedule today, huh?" The bird had a flat semi-annoyed expression. Simply sitting on a branch above him.
Antonio looked over to the toucan with furrowed brows and the same irritated expression. "This is serious Pico! WE'RE LEAVING HOME!"
"Which is why WE SHOULD'VE SLEPT! Now, we're going to have to be awake and sleepy the whole way."
"I'm not tired"
"Yeah, you're saying that NOW"
Antonio rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. The nerve of this bird. The young boy looked around his jungle room. Still as beautiful as it was when he first laid eyes on it when he was five.
Man... that was such a long time ago. Ok, it was only seven years ago but still. A lot of time has passed. His Hermana Dolores got married and is expecting two babies. His Hermano Camilo is now engaged, Mirabel owns her own seamstress shop, Isabela teaches a paint class and is currently helping Mirabel with new types of fashion ideas, and so much more.
He'll be gone missing all of it but thankfully he could send letters through steam airship mail services. And Pico volunteered to send letters back and forth if nothing else was available. And unfortunately for the poor bird, that will soon happen.
Antonio didn't know how to feel about this but no use in worrying about it now. It was time to go, and he had to get ready. The boy huffed and puffed out his chest. Here he goes.
"Here I go again, I'm gonna go to a world outside the world I'm in. No more day dreamin again, I finally got the chance-"
Pico perked his head up and stared straight at Antonio with a 'are you serious?' expression.
"No, no, no, no, no, NO! Don't you start! This is not a singing mom-"
"When I feel my fears starinâ at me, I tell it just wait and see"
Antonio got off his hammock, hopping from branch to branch down to the center of his treehouse.
"I know who Iâm gonna be, I know who Iâm gonna be. The worlds half asleep itâs gonna wake up and see"
He ran over to a nearby waterfall and began his morning routine. Shower, brush his teeth, and get dressed. There's not really much else.
A light brown vest, white button shirt, and dark orange pants. Finished off with a light-yellow ascot and simple brown shoes. Can't go wrong with simplicity. Once that was done, he took a large travel backpack next to the chest and stuffed it with all the clothes from inside the chest.
Pico, looking down at the singing boy, rolled his eyes and flew down a few inches away from the boy's feet.
"He's doing this...he's really doing this right now" The bird thought to himself.
Antonio went all over the place adding any and everything he could without overstuffing it.
"If itâs a million to one, Iâm gonna be that one and if itâs a shot in the dark Iâm gonna be the sun"
The sun was rising in his room, a beautiful orange glow shining over the prospering jungle. All the flowers, the ones Isa helped him plant and just the ones that were already there, started to bloom beautifully. The animals in his room were beginning to wake up and skitter about.
It was beautiful, honestly. But at the moment, it's something Antonio couldn't focus on right now.
âAnd I just canât afford to be wrong, even when Iâm afraidâŠYouâre gonna know my name. Youâre gonna know my nameâ
Antonio thought back to all the stories his older siblings and cousins told him about their journeys. With every single one they all helped so many people in different ways. Some towns know them by name from all their efforts.Â
He couldnât wait for him to go out and finally get to do all that stuff. Not to mention, the Miracle always promises new additions to his gift like all the others did. Something else he couldnât wait for. Â
His mama can make any weather appear with her emotions, sense when storms are coming, and can semi-remove them. However, the third one can take a lot out of her. Dolores can hear all things but also silence everything around her if she wants, as well as using sound waves to push away anything deemed as a threat. However, the third one can tire her quickly so she doesnât do it often.Â
Camilo can shapeshift into humans, animals, and can partially see into the memories of the person. But just like his sister and mother, he can only do it partially and it takes a lot of energy from him.
âI can barely sleep âcause my heart is always racing, chasing, pacing âround the room. Livinâ carefully is something I donât wanna doâ
Tonito was always the adventurous type. Albeit a little shy and quiet, but still up for adventure. Pepa could count on many fingers about how many times he disappeared to go explore a new area.Â
Not only that, but there were occasions when Antonio would swing Isabelaâs vines while they were both out foraging. He was never afraid of heights, quite opposite actually, the higher the better for him. So, when he got the hang of swinging on vines in his room, he would swing as high as he could to see above the canopy.
You have no idea how many times he got hurt doing that..and how many times he had to run from his mother and fatherâs belt.
Now all he had left to do was say goodbye. And thatâŠwas surprisingly the most scary part. Antonio looked at the clock on a small section of his tree. It would strike at 7:30 in twenty minutes. Time for when he would have to truly say goodbye to his family and leaveâŠfor a year.
âWhen I feel my fears staring at me I tell it just wait and see, I know who Iâm gonna beâŠI know who Iâm gonna be. The world's half asleep itâs gonna wake up and seeâŠIf itâs a million to one Iâm gonna be that oneâŠâ
â...you are a very dramatic kid, you know that?â Pico asked
âAnd you are a very annoying bird, ever think of that?â
After packing everything he could, the young boy sat in front of his tree with his animal friends all surrounding him. All giving him their best wishes of course.Â
Antonio heard a familiar guttural yawn behind him and turned around. There was his old jaguar friend Parce. Now standing at thirteen years old, which is old in Jaguar years. He technically only had two more years left butâŠthatâs something Toni didnât like thinking about.Â
âGood Morning Antonio, did you sleep well?â The old cat snuggled up against Tonito's side, causing the boy to lift up his arm.Â
âI did old amigo, did you?â
The old creature nodded as it stretched its legs and arched its back. âI slept well thank you, I see I made it before your departureâ
âYeah, Iâm just waiting for the others toâŠtoâŠsay goodbye I guess.â Antonio looked down at the coati in his lap in sorrow. Slowly petting it as he got lost in thought. This was finally happening. REALLY happening.
âYou are scared, young cubâ The jaguar bluntly let out.Â
âWhat? No, pssh, Iâm not scared! Just nervous is all but itâs all good really.â Antonio tried to play it off but he knew it was true. He was scared.
âHmm, alright thenâ Parce wasn't one to pry so he let it go. But he could feel that his cub was nervous. All of the animals could, they just chose not to acknowledge it. To not make him close off any of his thoughts.Â
Antonio was a quiet kid when he was upset, so it was best to keep him happy so he can always open up.
Some more minutes passed before he heard Mirabelâs signature knocking at his door. The tween gently took the Coati off of his lap and sat it beside him. After that he quickly got up and began to walk toward his door.Pico and Parce followed closely behind him.Â
Last breakfast heâll have with his family for a year. Better make it count. He breathed in a deep sigh as he touched the doorknob. A quick flash of his ceremony day flashed before him. It made him smile.Â
He shook off all the negative emotions and opened the door. Ready to greet his family for the last time. The boy quickly ran downstairs and to the backyard where the breakfast table was already set up.Â
As always, the food smelled good and delectable. When he was about to say something, he felt a hand ruffle his curly hair. Ugh, Camilo.Â
âHey Hermano, sleep well?âÂ
Camilo had the audacity to act like he wasnât worried or scared about today. Just as chill as any other day huh, Milo?
âStooop, you know I hate that!âÂ
Antonio smacked his hand away and glared at his big brother. Camilo, in return, stuck his tongue out at him. And Antonio did the same, a smile creeping into his lips right afterwards. He quickly took a seat next to his papa, with his mama on the left of him. Dolores sat next to her husband, Mariano, and Camilo sat next to his Fiance, Miguel.Â
Mirabel sat on the other side of the table, on her right was Luisa, and on her left was Isabela. Sitting next to Isa was their mother Julieta, and on Julieâs left was her husband. The whole blue family looked happy and peaceful. No pressure or unhappiness of any kind.Â
And as always, Alma sat at the head of the table. Now at eighty two years old, still the strong matriarch she used to be. Albeit a little slower, but that just comes with age. And trust me, she doesnât let her age get in the way of her fun.
Bruno sat at the end of the table, in no way did that mean he was excluded or left out. That was just his favorite sitting area. His hands were nervously clasped together while looking at Pepa. Oh boyâŠ.
Pepa had a noticeable heavy black cloud over her head. Rain was coming down upon her as she looked at Felix. He put his hand on hers and squeezed, offering a sympathetic smile. Felix saw the vision tablet tooâŠand he knew what was about to come.
âAntonio, familia, I have something to share with you. Itâs something that none of us want to hear but it needs to be said,â Pepa held a somber look as she stared at her plate. Unable to look Antonio in the eye. Not willing to see the heartbreak in his eyes.Â
âAntonio will not be going on his journey. That is final.âÂ
The table was silent as they all looked at her in confusion and shock. Antonio even more so. What the hell is she on about?
âWhatâŠ?â Tonito quietly asked, unsure if he really heard what he just heard. Pepa wouldnât look him in the eye so he looked at his father. Felix thought it would be best if he spoke up.Â
âIâm sorry Tontito butâŠyour place is here. Not out there, this is for a reason son. Please, understandâÂ
Bruno covered his face and groaned, this was not going to end well. He could feel it in his gut. The family looked in Brunoâs direction. This has something to do with him. Dolores had already heard the information from the early morning. She was just quietly waiting for the inevitable shoe to drop.
BrunoâŠ..did you have a vision?â Alma asked and adjusted her green glasses.
Bruno simply hummed and quickly grabbed a cup of juice, filling his mouth with it so he wouldnât have to explain anything. Alma saw right through that and narrowed her eyes with a raised brow. What was he hiding?
âIâŠI donât understand. Iâve been preparing to leave for weeks I donât- â Antonio shook his head and looked up at his mama, who still couldn't look him in the eye.
âAntonio, this is for the best. Iâm not arguing or taking any âbutsâ or pleads from you.â She said sternly and thunder could be heard from the cloud over her head.Â
Alma looked at her daughter and decided to speak up, âPepa, what is the meaning of this. Why canât he go?â
âIâll explain later mama, not right now.â
Oh Antonio wasnât about to let this slide, not by a long shot. âNoâ
Pepa looked up at him, Tonito has never been defiant or rebellious before, so this was new. âIâm sorry?â
âYou heard me mama, NO! Iâd at least like to know WHY I canât goâ Tonito demanded. In the back of his head, he was sure something probably went wrong in the vision tablet. But still, he would at least like to know the details. Maybe it was avoidable if he just SAW it.
Pepa felt a little flabbergasted and appalled that Antonio had the audacity to do this. She understood why he felt the way he felt, but she wasnât ready to tell him.Â
She took a deep breath to come herself, âAntonio, Iâm not going to argue with you. My words are final.â
âBut-â
âNO ANTONIO! DO NOT ASK ME AGAIN!â Thunder rang out through the house. Pepa glared at her son for dominance of the situation, as did Antonio. The sound made everyone jump and caused Dolores to wince from the impact.
Antonio growled and pushed the table away from him and stormed off to his room. Parce and Pico followed soon after just for some support and comfort he will likely need.
Pepa counted from 1-10 in her mind, Felix helped by coaxing her to breathe in and out. They both knew this was for the best. They could take Antonioâs anger and oncoming silent treatment over his inevitable end.Â
The rest of the family was told what was in Brunoâs vision, one vision showed him in a situation that was very confusing and concerning. The other was where Antonio was in a situation that showedâŠsomething very terrible regarding his life.Â
Now, they all understood why Antonio could just not go out there. Hopefully in due time, Tonito would be of age where they could tell him why he couldnât go. And hopefully, heâll understand.Â
The day passed on as usual, everyone doing their daily duties and chores. Antonio however, stayed in his room all day. Never even coming down for lunch or dinner. Not like he needed to, there were fruit trees of all sorts in his room. So, he had no need to come down whatsoever.Â
On the inside, he was seething mad. His intuition screamed at him to go, but he didnât want to go against his motherâs wishes. All day he was fighting with himself to no end. It was honestly infuriating.
His animals attempted to speak to him as maturely as they could. In which they all took his mamaâs side, much to his dismay.Â
âShe just wants you to be safe, young oneâ
âMothers always know whatâs bestâ
âDonât be so upset, little cub. Sheâs just trying to protect from something terribleâ
On and on, and on. None of them really made him feel better but he did see things from her perspective. But he just wished he saw the vision tablet, maybe itâs something he could avoid if he thought hard on it.Â
Soon nightfall came, and everyone headed off to bed. Some concern was there for Antonio, but they thought it was best to just leave him alone. It was getting late and Antonio decided to finally take it down a notch. He climbed up his large tree, hopping from branch to branch, to his hammock bed.
After he laid his head down, he slept for a couple hours. Irritating slumber as his dreams showed him out on the open road. But everything would switch from calm beautiful scenery, laughing with people he couldnât fully see, to monsters chasing him away.
Until he heard itâŠa small symphonic tune that called for him, again, and again. His eyes shot open at the fourth âcallâ. He sat up and looked around, no one but sleeping animals and fireflies were there.Â
Tonito shook his head and laid back down, putting his pillow over his head to ignore the sound.Â
âGoâŠgo little oneâŠyou must goâ
Antonioâs hand lifted the pillow ever so slightly to his angry face. A groan escaped him as he sat up again.
âGo little one, you must goâ
Out of irritation, Antonio made his way off his hammock and out of his tree using the mushroom steps and across the little bridge. After stepping over a few animals, he made it down. The tree he had was illuminated with many lanterns sitting on tree branches. All of which would turn themselves off when the sun came, and come on when the moon came.Â
It made everything look so surreal and calming. However, Antonio wasnât really in a calm state. More so anxious and confused. That damn sound would not leave him alone.Â
âGo now, you have the chance-â
youtube
Antonio got so frustrated he decided to speak to it, âI can hear you, but I wonât. Some look for trouble, while others donât.â The teen boy walked further into his jungle home, far behind the tree to clear his head.Â
He looked up at the moon and sighed, âThereâs a thousand reasons I should go about my day, and ignore your whispers which I wish would go away oooohâ
He heard the sound again and rolled his eyes, mocking the sound âOoooohâ
And there it was again, irritatingly, there it was again. Antonio began to walk faster, as if the faster he walked, the farther away he could get from the sound. But that was untrue because it just kept coming.Â
âYou're not a voice! You're just a ringing in my ear, and if I heard you, WHICH I DONâT! Iâm spoken for, I fear.â
He looked around the jungle, expecting to see the thing calling out to him. All small, look at the hot air balloon that was still sitting behind his tree.Still waiting to be turned on and used for adventure. Unfortunately, there was nothing there. But he could hope.Â
âEveryone Iâve ever loved is here within these walls, Iâm sorry secret siren but Iâm blocking our calls. I donât need an adventureâŠI donât need something newâŠâ Antonio thought about his words, how he was lying to himself. He longed for an adventure for the longest time.Â
Ever since he learned about Madrigalâs going on adventures when they were 12.
He thought about the sound calling out to him to go. How it could be just himself orâŠmaybe something thatâs trying to get him to go out there. To see the world and all it has to offerâŠor something that wants to hurt him. So many possibilities. Â
âIâm afraid of what Iâm risking if I follow you, into the unknown!â
The symphonic call sang two more times. Urging him to follow his intuition and HIS instincts. He wanted to do it so much. He needed to. ButâŠwhat if he was going to make a mistake and mess up? What if he leads himself to his own demiseâŠor what if discovers something amazing?
He walks down the hill to a river and stares down at himself. Seeing his reflection and the moon above shimmering in the water.Â
âWhat do you want? âCause youâve been keeping me awakeâŠare you here to distract me so I make a big mistake.â But then he thought more about it, maybe this could be something great. âOr are you someone out there who knows whatâs truly me, who knows deep downâŠIâm not where Iâm meant to beâŠâ
All the madrigals had their adventures and lived to tell the tale. Lived to see new places, new people, and the thrill of experiencing something new. Antonio wanted that, he wanted all of it. Every single bit of it.Â
âI want to feel my power grow, donât you know thereâs part of me that longs to gooooâÂ
All of a sudden, an orange wisp appeared to him. A magical little flame that swirled around him and flew off poofing into beautiful glittering smoke. The teen boy walked into the smoke and images started appearing before him.
âInto the unknownâŠâ
The dwarf kingdom, the Elf kingdom, the orc kingdom, and the dragon kingdom. All four places are what Antonio is aware of but never been to. Only heard about them in stories from his parents or tioâs elven and dwarf friends.Â
ThenâŠthe rulers appeared tall and strong, standing above him. All looking down at him and smiling. The rulers of prosperous kingdoms were smiling at him. But how could that be? Was he going to meet them?Â
But if that were trueâŠwhat didnât his mother see? Was there something wrong?
âAre you out there? Do you know me? Can you feel me? Can you show me?âÂ
The wisp took all of the magical images away and showed new ones. Ones of stone giants, trolls, Wargs, Rhosgobel Rabbits, Orcs, Elves, dragons, dwarves, were-beasts and beings, walking trees, creatures of which Antonio did not recognize but it still looked awesome!
Was this his journey? How could it be so fantastic? What was waiting for him when he left.
Most of the beasts shown were creatures Antonio should have been afraid of. However, he has never been afraid of anything. His family could literally kill with the gifts they had, even him. So why should he be afraid of anything?
The wisp showed new images; A sword, armor, a bow and arrow, a what looked like a whip sword. And in an instant, the wisp took all of the pictures away and swirled around Antonio again. Leaving him to chase after it.Â
âWhere are you going, don't leave me alone! How do I follow you-âHe follows the light up to a cliff, running as fast as he can to catch it.
And then, it disappearedâŠpuffing into smoke that dissipated into the air.Â
âInto the unknownâŠâ
Antonio panted as he tried to understand what just happened. What the actual hell??? As he thought about it. He realized thatâŠhe couldnât be here. He canât be here. And with a look of determination, Antonio ran back to his tree and started to pack up again. To hell with his mothers fears, he was needed for something important.Â
He didnât know what but he knew somewhere in his gut that he needed to GO. So, thatâs what he was going to do. Â
Some spare clothes, books, and the gold coins he saved up from doing his chores and helping out around the village. Which was about 20,000 coins give or take. Enough for him to buy whatever he needed along the way.Â
All that moving around caused Parce to wake up, a little irritated that his slumber was disturbed.Â
âThere better be a good reason you have woken me, little cub.â
Antonio looked at the cat and whispered, âof course there is, weâre leaving.â The boy said, leaving no room for argument.
The jaguar looked puzzled at that statement, âBut I thought we werenât. Your mother had said so herself.âÂ
âYeah wellâŠnow we are. Iâm needed out there for something important, I just know it.âÂ
Parce didnât quite know what to say to that, what could he say to the determined child?Â
âAlrightâŠâ the creature stretched its limbs and back, âShould I step into the flying balloon then?â
âNo, weâll sleep until early morning, right now itâs only-!â He looked at the clock, âitâs only two thirty , weâll wake at six PM.â
Without any more words, the jaguar walked into the hot air balloon, laid down, and attempted to go back to sleep. Antonio stopped moving around to think about what he needed. He got it and walked down the mushroom steps attached to the tree and made his way out of his room.
He needed some memorabilia from everyone in his family. Something that he will just âborrowâ for the time being as well. The first room he snuck into was his hermano Camiloâs room. As soon as he stepped inside he heard his brother snoring loudly. It made the teen chuckle.Â
When he further stepped into the room, spot lights shined themselves on him. Causing the boy to jump in fear. But he needed this, needed light to see where he was going.Â
Quietly, he speed walked up to the stage of his room and to the right, walking up some steps. After that, slowly he stepped his way over to Camiloâs closet and opened it. A creak was heard but nothing more than that.
Once opened, Antonio quickly snatched a ruana from the closet, closed it, and ran off the stage. Meeting the floor with a thud and running toward the bedroom door. One item has already been achieved.Â
Next room was Mirabelâs. Why didnât he go to Doloresâ room? Because that would be the dumbest thing he could do. He was praying she didnât hear his steps as it is. Going into her room would wake her up instantly. And he already had a sewn ascot from her anyway, heâll wear that on the journey.Â
When he made it to Miraâs room, he slowly crept inside. It was dark so the only thing he could do was get on his knees and crawl toward Mirabelâs bed. His hand reached for a basket, somewhere he knew her knitting needles would be.
And just like he hoped, they were there, as well as some yarn. The next thing he needed was her sewing needles. But even if he made it over to her dresser, there was no way he could find the needles.Â
So, in an act of courage, he stood and walked over to her window. Removing the hatch and opening it ever so slightly to illuminate the room. After that, he tip-toed over to the dresser and opened it, quietly moving the objects in the way.Â
After a few seconds of searching, he found them as well as some fabric. Items three (knitting needles), four (yarn), five (sewing needles), and six (fabric patches) are archived. These would come in handy if he ever needed to patch a hole or make a quick shawl or something of the like.Â
The next two things he needed were a vest from his tio agustin, Luisaâs wrist guards, Isabelaâs signature colorful waist scarf. Some random fabric she liked to wear for some reason that Antonio only understood as a style choice. It has smudges of paint and powder on it from so many projects of hers. The guards were too big for his tiny wrists but he could cut and sew them into a size that he could fit into, same for the vest.Â
So, just like he did with Camilo and Mirabelâs rooms, he snuck in and out of all three rooms with ease. The last item he got was from downstairs. Juelitaâs cookbook. Antonio was aware that she had tons more locked away somewhere. He overheard a conversation that his mother and aunt were having.Â
Something something, âif a fire ever happened, my signature cookbook as well as the family photo album would be like in a fireproof chest under my bedâ
So, the one he was taking from the kitchen wouldnât affect her too much. He swiped the book and quickly but quietly ran up the stairs to his room. Stuffing all the items into his backpack once he got a hold of it.Â
Antonio grabbed a lantern from his tree, which he cursed himself for not thinking of earlier, and went back out for six more items. Three shirts from his father, his mothers head scarf, Tio Bruno's ruana, and his abuelaâs shawl . There was no way those things werenât going with him.Â
As he did all of the others, he snuck into his parents room and took three shirts from his fathers closet. Antonio had to sit the lantern down to stuff the shirts under his arm, then pick up the lantern again.Â
The next item was his mamaâs scarf, which he took from her dresser. He stuffed the scarf from his arm and was about to leave, but something stopped him.Â
Antonio lifted up the lantern in the direction of his parentsâ bed. He looked at them sadly as the realization of what he was doing finally kicked in. He was leaving them. When both of them told him to stay for his safety.Â
He made his way over to their bed, Pepaâs side specifically. He bent down and kissed her on the head, then he went over to his papa and did the same.Â
âI love you both butâŠI have to go. Iâll try to be back as soon as I canâ He quietly whispered. Truly saddened that he couldnât stay for them.Â
After that he left to get the two other items and went back to his room to put the last of them into his backpack.Â
âDonât cry.â Antonio thought to himself, âDonât cry, donât cry, this is for the best and itâs happening for a reason. Theyâll understand in due time.â
Once everything was packed, Antonio set his alarm clock and crawled back up to his hammock. Sighing as he closed his eyes and fell into a deep slumber. Today will be a day of adventure, something he will NOT let slip through his fingers.Â
Six thirty came about rather quickly, and Antonio hated that. The quicker time went by, the faster it came time for Antonio to leave his family.Â
âWhatever, letâs just get this over with.âÂ
Antonio did his daily morning routine and ended it with getting dressed in most of his familyâs clothing. His father's gold button up shirt with triangle patterns on the ends of it. It was a little big on him but something he could deal with by just tucking in the shirt.
His motherâs orange scarf wrapped around his head and Doloresâ sewn ascot around his neck. On top of his shirt was Camilo's orange ruana, on his waist was Isabela's waist scarf, and lastly Luisa's wrist bands that he edited to fit him.Â
After that, he wrote a letter to his family.
.
âDear familia, I know I was told to stay but I simply cannot do that. Iâm needed somewhere out there and I must follow my instincts and intuition. If fate permits, I will see you all by my thirteenth birthday. I love you all so much, so please forgive me for what I have done.
With love, Antonio Madrigalâ
It was short but what else could he add? He was hearing voices so he decided to go out into the wide world on a hunch? Donât think so. Antonio left the note on a mushroom step, a spot someone should see when they enter his room.Â
Pico was still asleep so Antonio carefully held the nest he was sleeping in and took it to the hot air balloon, where Parce was sleeping, and placed it at the bottom of the wicker basket. The bird would be told the news when he awoke.Â
The envelope (balloon part) of the contraption had patches of red, orange, yellow, and brown reinforced fabric. Colors that show his side of the family. The basket that Antonio stood in had blues, purples, magentas, and greens to show the blue family, his abuela, and uncle. Personally weaved by a dwarf friend of Pepa and Juleita. The only dwarf Antonio has ever met in his life.
Dwarves, Orcs, Elves, and dragon borns were a rarity to find among people. They were only seen out of their kingdoms when they had business overseas or left their kingdom as a way of escaping someone.
Simply seeing the colors almost made the boy cry but he remained strong and stern, he had a purpose in this. He just didnât know what it was yet. But he soon would find out, and oh boy, would part of him had wished he stayed home.Â
-
Pepa woke up in a cold sweat, she saw her youngest baby in a state of peril, and she could do nothing to help. And before she could see him fully slain, she woke up. What on earth did she just see? NoâŠnoâŠnoâŠno, that wasnât going to happen. Her son was safe in his roomâŠholding a grudge.
She needed to talk to him. To get him to understand why she said no. Maybe then heâll understand, and possibly itâll scare him into staying home and never stepping outside until he turns thirteen. Yeah, that should work.Â
As she sat up she noticed that she was drenched in water and a heavy black cloud was above her head. Great, she more than likely drenched the bed. She looked over at her husband, who was also wet, and he was still sleeping.Â
So slowly and quietly, she got off her bed and snuck out of her room once more. As she made her way to his room, she noticed that his door was open. That was strange, surely he didnât run awayâŠright?!
She opened the door and walked inside to see no sign of her son. Not even in his hammock. Her heart skipped a beat. Thunder clapped in her dark cloud. Quickly, she ran over to the tree and walked up the mushroom steps, into the middle section of the tree. She looked up and her son was not there at all. Pepa started to panic.Â
âAntonio!â she yelled in fear, where was her baby?!
As she was about to make her way down the steps again, she saw an envelope on a mushroom step. She walked down a few steps and picked it up, opened it, and read it.Â
A storm will be approaching Encanto very soonâŠ.

I wanna do a collection of one shots about the Madrigal kids and their parents when they were all little - inspired by my hc that Isabela got herself tangled up in her vines CONSTANTLY when she was little because I need that in my life.
If any of you guys have any suggestions for chapters - like for any of the kiddos and their gifts or just funny moments within the family, let me know. I would be happy to do them :)

Pepa held Antonioâs hand to make their way to Casitaâs only bathroom. She told him there was a surprise for him there. They made their way inside the bathroom to see a small, light blue potty training seat in front of the bigger toilet. Pepa kneeled down in front of Antonio to his level to explain the change.
âAntonio, now that youâre going to be three years old very soon, and youâve been doing a very good job keeping your diaper dry for long periods of time, itâs time for you to go to the potty like a big boy.â
Antonio looked at the potty, and then back at his mother. âPotty?â
âYes, Tonito; youâre going to start using the potty. That means soon, you wonât need to wear diapers anymore. Youâre going to start wearing big boy underwear like your big brother, Camilo.â
Antonio smiled and bounced, then gave his mother a hug. He then pulled down his pants and his training pants, and sat on the potty. He was so excited to start using the potty that he wanted to start as soon as he possibly could.
âCorazon, if you ever feel like you need to go to the potty, you can tell me and I can help you. But weâre going to need to buy some brand new underwear for you. Do you want to go to town with me to pick out some new underwear?â
Antonio got up from the potty and pulled up his pants. He jumped into his motherâs arms and they made their way downstairs to head to the village to pick out underwear for him. Felix came from the kitchen to come with his wife and son, and Dolores and Camilo noticed them heading out the door of Casita and wanted to come. Antonio smiled and grabbed his big brotherâs hand. The five of them made their way to the village, and now that Antonio is going to have Dolores and Camilo help him pick out underwear, heâs even more excited to start using the potty.
Once they got to the village square, they made their way to Senora Lopezâs tailor shop. She has been friends with the Madrigal family since Agustin started working with her, and later introduced Mirabel to her. Antonio ran into Senora Lopezâs shop and the rest of them followed. Camilo grabbed his little brother and carried him onto his shoulder and headed to Senora Lopezâs front counter.
âHola, Pepa y FĂ©lix! What can we help you with today?â Senora Lopez asked with a smile.Â
âWeâre beginning to potty train Antonio and we wanted to try and find some underwear for him so he can be more excited to wear them,â Pepa explained.
Senora Lopez walked from the front counter to the childrenâs undergarments section of the shop. âWe have a whole section of underwear for boys that I think would be perfect for Antonio! He would love these.â
Pepa and Felix followed Senora Lopez to the childrenâs undergarments section and noticed their children perusing through the section to find something for Antonio. Camilo grabbed a pack of underwear that had jaguars on them and handed them to Antonio.
âWhat do you think about these? These are perfect underwear for a big boy like you,â Camilo said.
Antonio smiled and grabbed the underwear pack from Camilo. âCan I, mami?â he asked happily as he jumped up and down.
âI guess weâll take those. He seems excited about wearing them,â Felix pointed out as he took the pack of underwear to the counter.
âPerfecto! That will be ten pesos,â Senora Lopez replied.
Pepa grabbed ten pesos out of her purse and gave them to Senora Lopez. She gave her and Felix the underwear and Pepa put the pack inside her purse for safekeeping when they walked home. Dolores gathered Camilo and Antonio and the three made their way back to Pepa and Felix to head back to Casita. As the five of them walked back home, Antonio held his motherâs hand the entire way.
âAre you excited to start wearing your new big boy underwear, Tonito?â Pepa asked as she leaned down to give Antonio a kiss.
âYes! I want to start wearing underwear and using the potty! Soy un niño grande!â Antonio replied with excitement.
âMirabel and I can help you if you need any. I know Antonio loves spending time with Mirabel and me, so helping him use the potty can be a great way for us to spend more time with him,â Camilo added.
âGracias, Camilo; you and Mirabel will be an amazing help for Antonio. And I think Mirabel would be the best fit to help with Felix when weâre out in the village doing our chores,â Pepa explained to her older son.
Camilo hugged his mother from the side as they continued walking in the village and back home. Pepa and Felix already went through potty training with two children already, along with assisting Julieta and Agustin with potty training their daughters, so they knew it was not going to be easy, but it was going to be worth it when Antonio was fully potty trained.
Once everyone got back to Casita, Antonio rushed upstairs to sit on his new potty. He pulled his pants down and sat on his new potty. He sat for what felt like forever, but nothing was coming out. He sat some more, but still, nothing was coming out. Antonio was starting to feel like he was not going to go to the potty for that time, so he gave up and pulled his pants back up.Â
âMaybe soon,â he thought to himself as he walked out of the bathroom and back into the nursery to play with Mirabel.
Antonio met up with Mirabel in the nursery to color while he waited for any feeling of needing to go to the bathroom. About an hour later, while they were coloring together, Mirabel noticed Antonioâs pants slightly sagging down.
âAntonio, do you feel like you have to go to the potty?â Mirabel asked.
âNo,â Antonio replied.
âBecause I think you may need to go. Do you want to at least try?â
Antonio nodded and made his way back to the bathroom. Mirabel waited in the nursery so she could give her cousin some privacy. Once he got to the bathroom he pulled his pants down and noticed his training pants were wet and filled with bowel movement. He cried as he removed his training pants and put them in the garbage. After twenty minutes, Mirabel knocked on the bathroom door to see how Antonio was doing. He was taking so long that she wanted to see if he was okay.
âAntonio, are you okay in there? Youâre taking quite a long time.â
âNo! Iâm never going to go to the potty!â
Mirabel slowly made her way in the bathroom to see what Antonio was so upset about. She saw him crying on the potty and noticed the soiled training pants in the garbage. âAre you upset about not making it to the potty on time?â
Antonio nodded and Mirabel sat on the floor in front of Antonio. He got off of his potty to give his cousin a hug. She gave him a clean pair of training pants to put on and he put them on before putting on his pants. When he was done, he sat on Mirabelâs lap for another hug.
âYou donât need to feel bad. Itâs going to take a lot of practice to go to the potty. I had a difficult time going to the potty at first, too. When I was about your age, Abuela gave me a potty that looked just like yours for my birthday. That was when mami, your tia Julieta, talked to me about how Isabela and Luisa use the potty, and it was time for me to use the potty. I was so excited to use my new potty that I sat on it immediately. I sat there for a long time until I decided to wait a little longer. Not that long after, I did end up going to the potty, but it was still in my training pants.
âI felt the same thing as you, that I was never going to go to the potty like Isabela and Luisa and that I was going to be in diapers forever. But there was one day I saw Luisa going to the potty on the big toilet and decided to go with her to my potty. As I was sitting in front of her, I felt something come out of me. I stayed on the potty and Luisa was there to help me wipe. When I was done, Luisa got mami and papi to see that I went to the potty. They were so proud of me, and I was proud of myself.
âItâs going to happen eventually, Antonio. You donât have to rush it. You can go when you feel like you need to go. And itâs okay if you need help wiping. You have a whole family that can help you.â
Antonio gave Mirabel another hug. He felt better after she told him her potty training story. âCan I go to the potty with you?â
âSure you can, Antonio; and even when Iâm finished, I will be right here to help you wipe yourself.â
Antonio and Mirabel hugged again and they made their way back to the nursery to play some more. While Antonio was still a little impatient to learn how to use the potty and wear his new underwear for the first time, he at least knew that the day he used the potty was going to come eventually.Â
Several months have past and Antonio had several unsuccessful attempts at using the potty. He ended up doing his business in several places other than his potty, along with several accidents in his training pants. He was still getting support from the entire family throughout his journey.
Until one day, Pepa walked upstairs to notice the bathroom door was slightly ajar. She put one eye against the crack of the door to see her younger son sitting on his potty, with her youngest niece sitting on the toilet. Pepa took her eye off the opening so it did not look like she was invading their privacy. She went back downstairs as a rainbow shone over her head on her way down.
Only ten minutes later, Antonio ran downstairs to get his parents. He found them in the living room and jumped on Pepaâs lap. âMami! Papi! Look what I did!â Antonio shouted before pulling Pepa and Felix upstairs and into the bathroom. Mirabel was right in front of the bathroom door when they got there, and the four of them went in, noticing the potty was filled.
Pepaâs rainbow grew brighter as she and Felix held Antonio to give him a hug and a kiss. âWeâre so proud of you, Tonito!â Pepa said as she continued kissing her son.
âI felt like I needed to go to the potty, so I asked Mirabel to come with me because she helped me not feel bad about accidents anymore. Now I finally went to the potty!â Antonio said with excitement.
âI let Antonio try to go while I was going, so he didnât feel alone in doing so,â Mirabel explained to her aunt and uncle. âI saw him upset that he had an accident and I let him know that it was normal for kids his age to have accidents. I told him that I and the rest of the family had accidents while we were still potty training when we were his age.â
Pepa and Felix hugged their youngest child again and gave him the biggest kiss they could. Antonio was just as proud of himself as Pepa, Felix, and Mirabel were of him. Pepa and Felix took the potty over to the toilet and dumped everything inside. Antonio flushed the toilet and made his way to the sink to wash his hands. Mirabel washed hers with him and Pepa and Felix made their way out of the bathroom.
Antonio continued to use his potty successfully with Mirabel and Camilo for the next several weeks, still wearing his training pants during his naps and at night to avoid staining his sheets. He continued practicing every day until he kept his training pants dry throughout the night and Pepa and Felix were confident enough to let him stop wearing his training pants at night. Antonio could not be any prouder of himself.

It seems like I'm in my Hazbin Hotel era because I can think of ideas for ocs and stories for this series despite my love-hate relationship that I have with this series, I will probably use these characters as ocs for the prequel to my original project (bloody reverie ) bloody eden(wich i explore in instagram in my stories)but I like the idea of ââthis couple as ocs from hazbin hotel with biblical inspiration (removing the incest obviously, this is not alabama or northern mexico/argentina), now without further ado I introduce them:
Abel is the first human soul to go to heaven, we all know the story of Abel and his brother Cain, let's say I was inspired by the Abel of @s_affiro(has instagram, twitter and youtube channel, i love her swap au) and @wabbyhazzy to create mine by mixing my own ideas.
Abel is a warrior of heaven who has the job of protecting heaven from threats (Lofcraftian monsters, demons like Lucifer and Lilith, etc.) and unlike what it would seem from his carefree attitude, he takes his job VERY SERIOUSLY and sees it as divine duty which unconsciously makes him act proud at times, he is not at the level of Lucifer or Adam but he has a lot of pride.
His personality, as I said, is that of someone carefree but not irresponsible. He also really enjoys the simple things in life and is a very enthusiastic animal lover. He is a first-class empath and knows how to read others very well. He is also loud and outgoing.
He is married to Luluwa, his bride in life, they knew each other since they were children and from a very young age they showed interest in getting married, however Abel's death caused Luluwa to die of grief shortly after, so they ended up getting married in heaven(thats why luluwa's style has bride characteristics).
Luluwa, unlike her husband, is someone who is quiet, sensitive and gentle. She is a very wise person but usually prefers to stay away from the spotlight as much as possible (that's why she hid her heterochromia), however she likes to help others and because of this She is a matchmaker, she likes helping people find love.
The dynamic of these two is sunshine(luluwa) and sunshine protector(abel), they are both very devoted to each other(they are gomez and morticia if they were angels or pepa and felix madrigal).

Hereâs some revisions I did after seeing some of the ideas (there are obviously some flaws but I tried). Also, these ideas you guys had are amazing and my brain is BRAINING!!!
Season one - Centering the triplets as they grow up and Alma nearly losing her mind. The full season would be 20+ episodes and 20 minutes long. Also includes young Agustin and Felix.Â
Season two - First ten episodes ending with the triplets (Pepaâs wedding) and the last ten with the grandchildren growing up. (And expanding on the changes that happened after Mirabelâs ceremony.)
This season and mid season three would expand on how some relationships dwindled and just different dynamics and such. Maybe some post-movie bonding.
Season three - First ten episodes ending with post-movie grandkids/ before Antonioâs birth month. The last ten centering on the actual healing through Casitaâs collapse. Mirabelâs parents, sisters, and Primo's reaction to Mirabelâs disappearance. And the reaction to Bruno coming back and how they all felt.Â
And more bonding among family members and an introduction to extended ones on Agustin and Felixâs side of the family. Like honestly, what about their other cousins? grandparents? Tias & Tios? Nephews and nieces? We need more of them too.
Over the course of the series a trading & transport system is created for people to safely get in and out of the Encanto to the nearest town. They do explore outside The Encanto/see how far the gifts go. Culture shock.Â
Obligatory "the oldest granddaughters go out and shenanigans happen." also Camilo and Mirabel spy/tag along.
Season four - first twelve episodes are going to be character-centric and full of shenanigans. In every episode Luisa tries a new hobby in the B/C plot and it goes a different direction each time.Â
Obligatory halloween episode where the grandchildren tell each other scary stories of the outside world.Â
Episodes 18 could possibly surround the Triplets birthday. Episode 19 could be the Valentine's day episode with the yellow couple, blue couple, and Doloresâ relationship with Mariano. Could also involve the other grandkids talking to their crushes or asking them out. Just a full day of wholesome love.Â
Episode 20 could be a BIG family game night with extended family involved.Â
Season five - Finale season (A few years into the future maybe?)
Mariano goes with the other granddaughters out of the Encanto to get the best engagement ring for Dolores (because only the best of the best is good for her). Camilo and Antonio tag along and they get into trouble. Dolores hears everything and goes to bail her boyfriend and cousins/brothers out.
Day of little candles themed ep where alma and the family go to the river and alma tells them all about pedro. Also flashbacks of before dos oruguitas and Alma telling her family how proud she is of them all.Â
Mirabel (possibly seventeen or eighteen) looks back on how far the family has come while working on Doloresâ wedding dress.Â
Season ends with Dolores and Mariano getting married!Â
Notes: Yes, the theme song would be like the family madrigal, new outfits every other episode, in each episode a part of the diverse Colombian culture could/should be explored. (food, music, dancing, fashion, history, etc). Songs are a must and Lin Manuel Miranda will be the one who worked on them. I wonât let anyone else attempt to mimic his style of music when he can just be hired. Iâm sure he would like to work on the story anyway.Â
I think 24 episodes instead of 20 would be a bit better plot and story wise. Maybe each could be 25 minutes each too? Also, if Disney is willing to not have a stick up their ass, I would like the series to be animated in Disneyâs renaissance era style. Like the Hunchback of Notre dame, Brother bear, Lion king, Treasure planet, and Tarzan. Iâm NOT accepting anything less.Â
It could also be a Tradigital (both computer and hand drawn) style like Tarzan/Hunchback of Notre dame! 3D backgrounds painted to look 2D with the characters actually being traditionally drawn. This would especially be cool to look at in Antonioâs room and just Encanto in general.Â
TONS OF DISNEY EASTER EGGS! âWishâ kind of didnât do it right at all so I think Encanto can do it better. Honestly I shouldâve just asked the Encanto community for help instead of just struggling by myself. YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!!! If Iâm ever able to pitch this to Disney and actually make this become true I will credit ALL OF YOU!!!
Also, Iâve noticed how poorly Disney marketed Treasure planet, Princess and the frog, and strange world (most are allegedly poorly marketed) and by god I WILL NOT let them poorly market this.Â
Lastly, I think the series could have a full six seasons because there are so many ideas that I want to add and donât want anyoneâs idea left out. Plus, thereâs just so much one can do...
thanks to @midcanto @mirabels-miracle @droppingdonkeys @slayyyysworld @teawizard and you of course for the ideas!
mirabelđmakingđdoloresđweddingđdressđ
I love these ideas so much!!! in a better universe this exists and in the Number 1 fan!!! I love when this fandom is creative and all come together!!

đWeek Two: Relationshipsđ
The primary relationship that overarches the entire story and evolves the most significantly is Angela and Bruno. From a young age, they declare each other to be the best of friends, almost always at each otherâs side or poking gentle fun at the other. To be perfectly clear, neither see the other in any sort of romantic view for a long, long time, and even when it starts to develop, they are quite blind to it, brushing off their feelings as just being a very strong friendship. They have the kind of rapport where they can be talking back and forth over each other passionately without any sort of irritation, or sitting in complete silence together either reading or crocheting, just passing the time in the presence in each otherâs company.
When Angela is 19 and Bruno is 20, their relationshipâŠ.changes for lack of better words. Thereâs a spark. A shift in the stars. An awakening of senses that ties the strings of their friendship into an irreversible knot. And despite this âchange,â they still promise to remain friends and just friends; only friends. She is still processing the trauma of her last romantic relationship, and Bruno (who I HC as demiromantic) doesnât really want to take the deep dive into romance. So, they are friends. Just friendsâŠwho happen to sometimes kiss and look at each other a little too longingly.
For a more immersive and in depth experience/explanation of their relationship, I suggest reading my fic Why did it have to be me?
Angela is also quite close with Julieta and Pepa, as well as Agustin and Felix. As young teens, Angela and Pepa are in the church choir together, with Felix and Agustin who act as instrumentalists for the group. Julieta and Bruno will occasionally be pulled into the musical antics. Of the sisters, Angela is probably slightly closer to Julieta, mostly for her ability to read Angel like a book and is able to hone in on whatâs going on with the girl. Pepa on the other hand has her head slightly more in the clouds so to speak when it comes to understanding the shifting moods and feelings of her friends, mostly because she has such a huge responsibility already of trying to regulate her own emotions. Julieta has always suspected something going on between her brother and Angela, is eventually proven correct when the relationship becomes difficult to keep hidden. She was mostly just suspect of her brother harboring a bit of a crush on Angela, but just being in denial about it for many years to the point where it had been completely repressed.
(Forgive the old art, I definitely need to update these ones :0 )
Angel loves the Madrigal kids with her whole heart, and though she wouldnât say it out loud, she considers them as her nieces and nephews (and technically speaking with the whole common-law marriage contingency, they *are* her sobrinos more so than her cousins kids). She is closest with Isabela and Dolores given that they spent more of their formative years with her more than the other kids, but if you ask her, she will adamantly deny having a favorite.
When they were little, Isa and Dolores loved when Angela and Bruno would watch them for an afternoon/evening, because they would make a production of keeping them entertained with outlandish stories, complete with melodramatic acting and costumes (they especially love getting into Angelaâs wardrobe of fancy things, and Dolores especially loves Angelaâs would-have-been wedding gown that she keeps tucked away in her closet, but when Dolores finds it and gushes about how pretty it is, sheâs able to let go of some of the bad feelings surrounding it). The girls get involved in their fable telling, inserting their own takes of action into the plot (which is completely welcomed) (very much like that episode of Bluey with uncle Rad and Frisky). Once Dolores gets her gift though, loud and intense storytellings get overwhelming for her, especially with the addition of the other kids. So, from this point on, Angela would do private story-time for Dolores, most often done when she would braid her hair. Isabela, on the other hand, liked to take on a directorial role, and was adamant about her vision for plots. Early on, the girlsâ favorite stories were La Fada Morgana and the tale of Ariadne.
Angela, for better or worse, sees a lot of herself in Isabela as she grows up. The pressure to be perfect and splendid all the time is far from unfamiliar for her, and she tries, though not terribly successfully, to curb the pain of having to fit into a predetermined mold by giving Isabela some creative outlets to express herself. Initially, Isabela is able to get some of her feelings out through art, but overtime becomes scared of the consequences for just having negative feelings, so she only ends up creating in a very limited manner.
Luisa was an armored by Angelaâs dancing when she was very young. When Luisa was around four, Angela returned from a long trip wherein she had learned to dance the Bolero, and little Luisa fell in love with all of the twirls and movements of her tĂaâs long skirt and cape. Angel would take Luisaâs hands and spin her around the floor to the sound of Agustinâs piano playing, and lift her up in the air like a true prima ballerina. With Angela, Luisa was able to indulge herself in her desire for the soft and girlish things of life, like chiffon skirts the swish around when she spins and pretty ribbons decorating her hair in elaborate styles. Unfortunately, time for the frilly trivial things lessens as the demand for Luisaâs gift grows. When traveling, Angela tries to find little trinkets like earrings or hair pins that Luisa can wear will working so she can still feel some bit of fun femininity.
Camilo and Mirabel both thought that Angela and Bruno were married when they were itty bitty. It only got brought up at one point: Camilo had just turned five, Mirabel in a few months preparing for her gift ceremony. The family is in the dinning room/ kitchen, and Mirabel asks Angela why she never wears a ring like her mama or tĂa Pepa. Sheâs a little confused at first, like what are you talking about, why would I wear a ring? Cue slight tense atmosphere of gently explaining that they are in fact not married, and the awkwardness that ensues afterwards of the kids insisting that they must be married because theyâre in love and if youâre in love you should be married. This adds a mountain of tension on the pair as well as her relationship with Alma, especially given she leaves for a long time after Mirabelâs gift ceremony.
Angela teaches Camilo to play guitar when she comes back from a trip from DR when heâs seven. She gifts him her old guitar, telling him itâs charmed to never go out of tune, but in reality, she and FĂ©lix take turns tuning the strings when Camilo isnât looking. He doesnât catch on until heâs thirteen.
She also teaches Mirabel to embroider when she returns from her first cruise six months after her gift ceremony. Mirabel is in a concerning depressive spiral considering how young she is, and Angela offers to take her out of the magic house for a little bit to be in her familyâs shop. She tells her that she can find magic in the ordinary things and thus starts teaching her little thread decorations and embellishments. Sheâs able to cultivate a bit more happiness in Mirabel through crafts and tailoring.
Antonio, given his very young age, does not have many solid memories of Angela, but loves her regardless. When she comes back for Doloresâ wedding, he is still shy, but quickly acclimated to her presence (the rats have nothing but good things to say about her). She held him a lot as a baby, but her traveling and almost permanent move away kept her from being around when his consciousness evolved from baby brain to child-with-object-permanence brain.

Now for the enormous family tree!!!
The great grandparents donât play much part in the story, so for sake of simplicity, I will skip over them. Quinuama Ixchel Maria Estrada - Villca Gonzalez and Raymundo Hernan Antonio Estrada - Rodriguez Villca are Angelaâs maternal grandparents (they are primarily who raised Angel), who have children: BeatrĂz Adriana Pilar Carvajal - Estrada Villca, Naylay Ezekiel Hernan Estrada - Villca Ruiz, and Anamaria Yaamil Quinuama Morales - Estrada Villca. BeatrĂz marries Lucio Fernando SimonĂ© Carvajal - Silva Estrada, and they have two children: Imelda Constantine Adriana Manuel - Carvajal Estrada and Dominic SimonĂ© Lucio Carvajal - Estrada. Naylay marries Ramona Xiomara Laura Estrada - RuĂz Allard, and they have three children: Remedios YoselĂn Magdalena MĂĄrquez Estrada Ruiz, NicolĂĄs Raymundo Ezekeil Estrada Ruiz Vargas, and Narcisa Esther Xiomara Mendoza Estrada Ruiz. Anamaria marries Guillermo (listed below), and their only child is Angela Leilani Yaamil Morales Estrada.
On Guillermoâs side of the family there are the great grandparents Enele Aulii Taito and Kanani Sofia Anacoana Taito Flores Tuigamala, Chimalmat Itzamara Morales Canul and Matteo Guillermo Morales Delgado Canul. The two relevant children from these couples are Guillermoâs parents, Leilani Maria Onosaâi Morales - Taito Flores and Babajide Jacobo Matteo Morales - Canul Taito. Guillermo was distant from his family, setting out at a very young age to live with one of his uncles, Enele Kahiau Luis Taito Flores (Leilaniâs brother) to learn the trade of raising goats. Enele sadly passed away years before the formation of the Encanto, leaving Guillermo to raise himself on his own since he was 16.
Of Angelaâs five cousins (in order of age): Imelda Constantine Adriana Manuel - Carvajal Estrada, Remedios YoselĂn Magdalena MĂĄrquez Estrada Ruiz, Dominic SimonĂ© Lucio Carvajal - Estrada, NicolĂĄs Raymundo Ezekeil Estrada Ruiz Vargas, and Narcisa Esther Xiomara Mendoza Estrada Ruiz; she is closest to Remedios. Narcisa, despite begin the closest in age, has an odd relationship with Angel from a young age, the two of them mixing like oil and water. Narcisa enjoyed teasing Angela as a child, and they would often get into little fights, sometimes escalating to crying and yanking on each otherâs ponytails. Narcisaâs sardonic personality settled with age, and she became much kinder to Angela by the time sheâs an adult. Remedios has aâŠ.reputation in town for her coquettish behavior and ârevolving doorâ of lovers. Angela is closest to Reme because of the older girlâs honesty and acceptance of things deemed âimproper.â
Her relationship with her father is difficult to say the least. Guillermo became extremely detached and emotionally distant after the passing of his wife. Heâs a man of very few words, even with his family. Heâs one of those fathers who doesnât want their kid to grow up, who would just keep them forever as a child if he could. It stems mainly from the fact that his wife died so young and seeing his daughter surpass his wifeâs life breaks his heart.
Some other relationships include her three exes: Roberto Montoya, Aureliano Torres, and Esteban Cesare Moscote Suarez. Roberto is a sweet boy that Angela projected her desire for romance on to when she was 12 (totally based on my own experience of picking a relatively cute boy to have a crush on so I could feel normal) who was exceeding kind to her during their little relationship, but both ultimate decided that it just was not what either of them wanted, and Roberto came out to her saying that he had kind of done the same thing in âpicking a sweet girl to project his feelings on to.â Aureliano was the emotionally unavailable son of the cantina owners, who sauntered his way into Angelaâs heart with a blasĂ© smirk and several glasses of rum. She broke it off with him when a lie was revealed. Esteban was a seemingly kind gentleman who was the picture of perfection upon meeting him, but evolved into an extremely manipulative and abusive partner that Angela became engaged to after he put her on the spot in front of half the town with a proposal (Donât worry though, she breaks it off after finding her strength).
Iâve probably talked way too long about this now :)
