this is all based on my friends and I whenever we play Among Us... it is a mess but absolutely hilarious! Hope you enjoy! :)

Mark: the yellow character, uses some type of nickname that no one actually calls him

Is never saying much, but is especially quiet when he is an impostor

Actually a really good impostor

Wins 8/10 times

Very risky killer thoguh, he has BALLS

Always has an alibi somehow

But don‘t sus him please - as soon as he opens his mouth and is put under pressure.... everyone knows its him

Renjun: most probably the black character, uses a cute nickname and puts cute accessories on his character

yes, yellow (aka Mark) is a great impostor

BUT Renjun is THE best

his character looks so innocent with the cute lil name and the christmas lights

But don‘t let it fool you

ALWAYS has an alibi as well

And even when you sus him - he has the best arguments as to why you should believe he is actually innocent (he never is) and always manages to make someone else look sus, so he‘s off the hook (not that you sus him to begin with)

Usually is the impostor 5 times in a row

Wins 9/10 times

Jeno: changes his character‘s color all the time but usually it‘s either dark or lime green, uses his last name and puts fancy suits on his character

Literally the best person to play Among Us with

He is so chill and laid back and let‘s you actually talk (some people just outscream each other and I find that annoying)

Also an amazing impostor

He is just so nice and kind, you would never sus him

“Don‘t worry Haechan, I can confirm that you are innocent! I saw him doing tasks, guys. It can‘t be him.“ (well yeah, cause it‘s you Mr. Lee)

Due to this, no one would ever sus him

Kills usually the same people at the same spot (apparently not even on purpose) and that‘s actually why the others sus him

Wins 9.5/10 times

“Okay, only us three left... we really have to think this through. Chenle, why are you trying to proof your innocence so hard when we haven‘t even said anything? Ugh, I don‘t even wanna vote anyone, I really don‘t know who it could be. To the impostor, you did a great job! I‘m honestly shocked by how well played this was. Oh? We voting Chenle? Okay!“

Haechan: the dark blue character, uses a „cool“ made up rap name and suits to look even cooler

He is LOUD

And he has literally no mercy

Do not sus him or else you will lose your hearing

He outscreams everyone

Kills infront of someone else and acts as if the other person (usually Jaemin) has killed Jisung

Literally self-reports but due to Jaemin not being able to get a word in, EVERYONE believes him

But although he is doing quite well most of the time, the others see the pattern in his impostor tactics and stop believing him at one point

Wins 5/10 times

Jaemin: he chooses the colors pink or purple, goes by his actual name and uses either a cool cap or flowers for accessoires

He is alwas the one the others sus, just becasue

They don‘t even have reasons but apparently he is always acting hella sus

Which frustrates him, because they only sus him when he is a crewmate, never when he is the actual impostor (which is hilarious)

He is genuinely doing tasks and trying to defend people he deemed innocent but still, he is always the one getting accused of the killing

When he is impostor, he usually doesn’t even kill people cause he is so nervous and afraid hahaha

So the crewmates know, when there isn‘t a single kill after 5 minutes, it is probably Jaemin

But when he is on a killing spree, he is actually quite good - 100% better than Haechan

Wins 7/10 times

“Guys, why would it be me? I was just with Shotaro and Jeno the whole time! I didn‘t kill either of them!!! GUYS I AM NOT THE IMPOSTOR I SWEAR TO GOD!!!! Chenle: the white character, uses a weird name and also dresses up in cool suits

Boy is always sus

Probably because he constantly is the impostor

He also kills very fast

The game just started and there‘s already a reported body

So that‘s what makes him sus immediately - he kills 5 seconds into the game

But he is good at talking himself out of it - people still sus him though

He is making stupid mistakes though; “Jisung, let‘s stick together!“ and suddenly Jisung is dead

Usually plays 2-3 rounds as an impostor before people know for sure it‘s him

Wins 6.5/10 times

“Noooo? It isn‘t me wtf? Are you guys drunk? WELL I PERSONALLY THINK IT‘S SUNGCHAN! Every other opinion is INVALID!! I haven‘t seen him this WHOLE game! Shut up Sungchan, that‘s what an impostor would say as well. Yes guys! TRUST ME!!! Bye Sungchannie!“

Jisung: the red character, uses a weird name he came up with that has nothing to do with his actual name, also wears suits cause Chenle wants to match #chenji

He never is impostor

He wants nothing more than to be the impostor once

When he suddenly gets chosen to be the impostor - he gets voted off immediately

But not because he is bad - his impostor teammate is the reason

Imagine; lights go out, his impostor mate kills one person directly infront of the electrical, infront of jisung and runs away... suddenly lights turn on and jisung stands infront of the dead body

People immediately vote him off, no questions asked

Wins 3/10 times

“I know it looks so bad, but I swear it wasn‘t me! Renjun got killed infront of me, I didn‘t even have time to report him yet! Guys, seriously, it was NOT me!!!“ but due to Chenle (most probably the other impostor) throwing accusations at him, he doesn‘t even get to say much

Shotaro: the orange character, goes by a nickname and usually chooses the egg for accessories

Is not that experienced with the game

so let‘s say, he plays for the firs time with the boys

He is the impostor for the first 4 rounds - he is completely overwhelmed

Never gets suspected cause “he just started playing this game - no way he is impostor and gets away with it so easily“

Whenever people sus him he plays the “i don‘t know how this works“ card - and the others believe him

The boys are SHOOK when they see he was the actual impostor

Wins 11/10 times - his cuteness and innocence make him win every time

“I was in that one room, I don‘t know what it‘s called....“, “I have a question; why are these alarms going off? Huh? Impostors can sabotage? How is that possible??? Oh okay, wow. Good to know. I hope i can remember this when I am the impostor then!“

Sungchan: the brown character, shares the same braincell as Chenle and chooses a weird name haha, is the only one who has a pet

He is the only one that thinks logically

Doesn‘t sus people without having his reasons (even when he is impostor)

Plays very well, sticks with his partner most of the time - double kills occure often with him being impostor

Him and Jaemin are actually a very good team

Although they stick together a lot, they also try to get alibis from other players

Win 10.5/10 times (sometimes he does mess up)

“No guys, I can confirm that Jisung is not the impostor, let that guy live for once! Haechan on the other hand apparently finished the ‚Simon says‘ task in less than a minute, which i find very weird as it takes longer than that.“ *cue Haechan‘s screaming*

Elle’s & Noah’s relationship is toxic as hell and here’s why:

I’ve seen way too many posts and tweets saying how Elle is toxic and how her relationship with Lee is awkward and “too much” and how she was wrong in kissing Marco in front of all those people - well, okay, the last one has a very strong point. But there’s more layers to it & I’ll voice my opinion about it. This post will only be about Elle & Noah’s relationship - the other topic will be talked about in other posts.

First, we have Noah and his friendship with Chloe. I do believe guys - as well as girls - should have close friends of the opposite sex/gender. It is normal and it’s stupid if anyone thinks that, just because you have a male best friend, you’re going to feel attracted to them to the point where you will cheat & not be faithful to your partner. However, throughout the whole movie, Noah portrayed Chloe as always something more than just a friend.

The first major red flag is the fact that when Elle visited him in Boston and they were having dinner with Noah’s friends, when Chloe appears, Noah gets up very quickly, gives her a hug WHERE he puts his hand very low on her hand (I would say that he even touched the top of her butt), said “you’re so beautiful” or some shit like that AND - this is the biggest red flag of all - didn’t even introduced his OWN girlfriend. First, Elle wasn’t friends with Chloe, they don’t fucking know each other - was supposed Elle to get up and introduce herself when it is clearly the job of the person who brought her to the meeting? Everytime I bring people to meet my other friends, I always introduce them. It’s unspoken law. How the fuck are they supposed to interate with each other and hang out if they weren’t properly introduced. I went to a birthday party once and I’m gonna say - it’s hella awkward and uncomfortable, and the awkwardness increases the more close you are with the person who brought and should’ve introduced you.

Many people complain how Elle shouldn’t even be jealous of Chloe in the first place and that’s just toxic. You cannot impose on a 17/18 year old girl who knows the previous reputation of her boyfriend and who - as any girl of any age - can have complex about herself to just don’t feel jealous of how a pretty attractive woman is always joking flirting with her boyfriend. We have to remember that the first impression that Elle had of Chloe was her entering his boyfriend’s apartment, looking dropdead gorgeous and joking with Noah about how he is naked (he had a towel but nothing underneath). Chloe might have not known the camera was on at the moment but that comment obviously let Elle uncomfortable and we cannot just invalidate her feelings.

The second major red flag was when Elle found the earring. Obviously she might of jumped into conclusions but then she checked her boyfriend’s phone; which many say it’s toxic but she had arguments to support her actions. She was so shocked by how flirty the messages looked that she just left. Many criticize her but how many of us would’ve done the same? How many of us would’ve stayed and risk a huge argument and get more hurt? She left and Noah didn’t even tried to stop her or follow her. He knew she was upset, she especifically told him to check his messages and he still didn’t follow her or tried to clear things up. He prefered clearing the air when she was back in California. And the fact that he didn’t even asked Chloe later if the earring was hers or how the earring ended up under his bed sooner is something I will never get over.

Third, he kept hanging out with Chloe and lying to Elle about it. How can your partner be comfortable with X friend if you keep lying about hanging out with them. It looks like you have something to hide.

Fourth major red flag is the fact that Lee invited Chloe to the family dinner just to provoke Elle. Chloe later said that it was because Noah wanted them to be friends & that’s why he invited her but we all know it is untrue. The way they were acting around each other and the looks that Chloe was giving Elle were clearly non-friendly. Even if Noah had seen Elle kiss Marco, the fact that he used the one thing that Elle had been suffering about to just make her feel more defeated is something I hated. That’s revenge. And there shouldn’t be revenge in a healthy relationship. If one does something wrong, you talk about it.

I’m not excusing the fact that Elle kissed Marco, especially not in front of hundreds, probably thousands of people. Whether it was planned or just a thing in the moment, I hate cheating and I will never, ever, accept it. However, I also count flirting shamelessly, hiding & lying as cheating too. Noah flirted with Chloe and she did the same & he hid and lied about the fact that they were still hanging out together and alone. That’s cheating too. Yeah, they never did anything physical but how was Elle supposed to know that if all the red flags were there and they weren’t from her imagination? Her friendship with Marco wasn’t flirtacious at all, yeah, they kissed but they always hung out as friends and friends only. There was never an indication that they might have been doing anything wrong unlike Noah with Chloe. Let’s be honest, most of us thought Noah actually cheated. If you are not going to give your partner the trust needed for them to feel like you aren’t cheating, how are they supposed to know if everything you do indicates otherwise? Again, I’m not on Elle’s side when it comes to cheating but when you’re in a toxic unhealthy relationship and you get so far apart - which was what happened: they barely talked anymore, they didn’t have any conversation whatsoever and everytime they talked, Noah acted distant -, you kind of turned into the person who actually is treating you right and, for Elle, that was Marco.

To discuss Marco & Elle is needed a whole new post but I leave my opinion now: Elle did wrong by kissing Marco but Noah’s actions lead Elle into believing that he was cheating on her and Elle even considered breaking up when they last spoke on the phone. They both made things they shouldn’t and that’s why their relationship is toxic and they shouldn’t have stayed together at the end.

What's happening on Twitter? I'm getting a lot of hate tweets from a certain group of lesbians (they seem to know each other). Are they from 4chan or something? They're aphobic, transphobic, super biphobic, panphobic, antisemitic, anti-Catholic, anti-non-USA-Latinos and anti-white (like, in a violent way). I also found them calling any movie or series that include a cop as 'copaganda', which wouldn't matter, but they promote violence against their actors or writers... Wtf? Why?

Hooboy, anon. That's a whole can of worms. I can't speak to the anti-Latinx thing or the anti-Catholic thing (and the copaganda thing is just, well, look at the news right now), but I am in the thick of queer exclusionist Twitter so here's what's going on from my perspective. Just FYI, I'm going to mention some triggery things (death threats, suicide, SA) but not in any detail. I don't want to trigger anyone but this whole mess is honestly really fucked up.

So queer Twitter has recently chosen bi lesbians and pan lesbians as the new community punching bag, much like aces and aros were for a long while (and still are in many circles). The issue seems to be…

1) TERFs (and other hateful people) have been targeting young queer folk and essentially indoctrinating them to hate anyone that seems to step outside the strict definition of a lesbian as a woman who is ONLY attracted to women; thus they feel like bi and pan lesbians, among others, are appropriating the term and invalidating them. (How someone else using a term to express their own identity somehow invalidates yours is a mystery to me!) They even go so far as to claim bi/pan lesbians are the reason cishet men harass/rape queer women. Essentially these exclusionists claim that bi/pan lesbians must be attracted to cishet men (even if many aren't) somehow means they're going to let men invade lesbian spaces or something. It's very "ALL MEN ARE THE ENEMY" and "IF YOU EVEN BREATHE THE SAME AIR AS A MAN YOU'RE ALSO THE ENEMY". Which, surprise surprise, is hella biphobic and panphobic.

2) This is clearly a step on the road to convincing these same lesbians to parrot anti-trans rhetoric, and indeed a lot of the bi/pan exclusionist rhetoric is incredibly transphobic and nonbinaryphobic. For example, I've seen some claim lesbians can't be attracted to masculine or male-aligned people, even butch lesbians and nonbinary people. I've also seen them claim bi/pan lesbians are transphobic because they must be using the term to indicate that trans women aren't actually women (that's not what the terms mean at all) when the exclusionists are actually the ones treating trans folk like they HAVE to pick one gender or the other. Their arguments generally come down to "nonbinary people are women-lite" or "you can only be a lesbian who's attracted to nonbinary people if those nonbinary people are feminine and/or woman-aligned". It's gross and hella TERFy.

3) Oh god, the kpop stans. So the kpop stans are in the thick of this, which means the discourse on Twitter has gone past being toxic and become full-fledged death threats, elaborate cyberbullying, and general dogpiling of anyone who expresses an opinion they don't like. I know someone who was bullied off of Twitter for the egregious crime of simply saying "Since I'm not a lesbian, I don't think I should take a stance on this issue". That person was hounded by the kpop stans to the point of being suicidal. While the stans haven't interacted much with my Twitter account (@sconesfordinner if anyone wants to follow me!), they've used slurs and general threats on some of my posts. They're also the ones who tend to take something small and blow it out of proportion. You could tweet "bi/pan lesbians are valid" and they'll respond with death threats and accusations that you support men raping lesbians. IT'S WACKY. (And by wacky I mean really, really terrible.)

It doesn't matter to these people that bi/pan lesbians have always been part of the queer community or that lesbian has long been an umbrella term for wlw. They ignore any attempts to educate them on the history of those terms, even when actual lesbians and trans people defend their use and express support for bi/pan lesbians. They do not want to open their minds; they only want to foster this idea that lesbians are being targeted by others in the queer community so they can continue playing the victims.

Oof, sorry this is so long. I'm very passionate about this topic because fuck! exclusionists! I love my bi/pan siblings. I love my sapphic siblings. I love my trans and nonbinary siblings. And the more exclusionists try to bully innocent people, the more radically accepting and inclusive I become.

ok i watched the ep with my roommate (another film student [i’m screenwriting and she’s tv/film production] who has a less biased pov bc she isn’t involved in fandom) and we both thought the writing was weird, if not just. Bad. tonight. here are some things we talked abt:

the cold open was clunky as fuuuuuuck. jake having to explain that they haven’t hung out in a month and their anniversary is coming up was such awkward writing that my film school peers would’ve ripped me to shreds for - toooooo much exposition. even the bumblee back and forth was not all there for me tbh. idk if it was the delivery of the lines or the lines themselves but that cold open was meh

also when the fuck is their actual anniversary they said it was coming up in the beginning of the ep but by the end they were like “ya it’s our anniversary :)” klsfnbklsdf?????

they kinda took their sweet time getting to the kids discussion tbh? like i wasn’t jazzed abt the character of pam (wish she wasn’t there at all tbh) and also can i just. let me just. the narrative never questioned the “mixed race babies” comment. yes you all are going to have to hear a mouthful from this abt me as a mixed race person. WHY DIDN’T THE NARRATIVE CALL OUT THE MIXED RACE BABIES COMMENT I’M SO FUCKING ANNOYED

so now jake and amy are like oh shit bc they are only JUST NOW realizing they have different povs abt kids.....to the point that jake claims he “never” wanted kids, and amy (nor literally anyone else in the ep) never calls back to the times jake has talked abt wanting or having kids? hello???

like this could’ve EASILY been fixed by tweaking jake’s line from “never” wanting kids to now being HESITANT or UNSURE due to new factors or reasons. but now they wrote jake into this corner of apparently never wanting kids and we all got dragged into this corner with him

Debunking Arya Stark being Azor Ahai and the Princess That Was Promised. (S8 E3)

(Let’s get one thing straight before I write this whole post. I LOVE Arya Stark. That girl is my baby. She’s my favorite character, not only in the show, but also very importantly, in the books. And I LOVED that she was the one to kill the Night King. So this post isn’t in any way going to a post about me complaining about the final 10 minutes of Episode 3 of S8. Instead, this will be me CRITICALLY ANALYZING that moment, and how it fit’s and doesn’t fit into the lore, and the books. Afterall, I am a book reader first and foremost, and a show-watcher 2nd.)

Before I say anything else, I’ll give you guys my rundown opinion of that scene. This morning I was on twitter and Tumblr, and I started losing my freaking marbles because everyone was labeling Arya Stark, Azor Ahai Reborn, and TPTWP. And I wasn’t the only one. Everyone on the asoiaf forums were equally disappointed at how everything about e3 was handled. And I, unfortunately, am one of those people. But here’s the thing, and let’s make this clear. Ask any book reader, NONE OF US ARE MAD THAT ARYA KILLED THE NK. In fact, a lot of us expected something like that, because we know that Arya in the books will have a VERY IMPORTANT role for the upcoming war for the Dawn. There are lots of hints and foreshadow about her doing something remarkable in the books, however, this is not one of them. So let’s analyze and debunk this moment:

Yes, Arya killing the Night King was hella bad-ass. Hell, I even cheered for her. Although when it got to the final credits, I was literally so lost, and confused, and overall disappointed. I was lowkey quiet for the first 10 minutes after, because I couldn’t believe what actually happened. Here’s the thing that is irking everyone about Arya being AA or TPTWP: her killing the NK, so easily AND ALONE is what ruined the plot arcs of some of those characters whose plot actually revolves around the Others. Yes, the moment was EMPOWERING. Being a women who stopped the damn apocalypse. I was inspired. And it was very poetic that Arya killed the ULTIMATE representation of DEATH. But the BUILDUP to her killing the NK? Where was it? A simple foreshadow from Mel about eye colors? The fact that Arya used a sparring move against Brienne in S7? A moment when Bran gives her Catspaw? When she meets Jon, and Jon says, “How did you sneak up on me?”?

Here, the reason why Arya SIMPLY killing the NK so easily doesn’t work, is because it INVALIDATES EVERYTHING about the books and it’s morals, and the text. Arya killing the NK with one stab, while Dany couldn’t even injure him with fire, fucks up the lore and the history so badly, that it all feels so worthless. Pointless. What? Was everything that happened in the books a BIG RED HERRING?? You spend so many years BUILDING up to this war, and Arya simply killing him without any problems or consequences is what wins the war? What about Daenerys? What about Jon? WHAT WAS THE POINT? WHY WAS HE WAS BROUGHT BACK? Just to be King? Huh? And BRAN.

Yes GOT is about the Throne. And it would make sense that the show ends where it started, with the throne. But the whole point of A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE is about ICE AND FIRE. The balance between life and death. The balance between good and bad. The balance between magic and reality. The whole point of the battle between ice and fire, is that none of the things involving the throne matters. Bc there is an even more powerful danger lurking on both sides. Dany being a danger from the south (fire) and the Others from the north (Ice). There has to be a balance between those two things, and that is not the Iron Throne.

Let’s go back to the AA prophecy quickly. People on twitter were lowkey confused because apparently no one knows who Azor Ahai is, and now everyone immediately thinks it’s Arya cause she killed the NK. Here’s a small rundown: Azor Ahai, or The Prince/Princess who was promised was a prophized figure who fought against the Others (White Walkers), bringing forth a summer after a generation of winter and darkness. This prophecy is to come back into fruition once more, now that winter is coming. And HIS is the SONG OF ICE AND FIRE, who will be reborn amidst salt and smoke, and is prophisized to save the world AGAIN from eternal darkness. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3o2LqFZcGU Click the link for more info. Now I know prophecy should always be taken with a grain of salt. It shouldn’t be taken too lightly, or too figuratively. BUT! AA is NOT just anyone. There are REQUIREMENTS to be this prophesied savior. (See video above.) Those requirements do NOT FIT ARYA. I really tried. No this fandom tried. We tried making even the slightest connection, even metaphorically that Arya could somehow be the PTWP. But the only thing we could find that actually made sense, was that she felt “reborn” when she saw the red comet (bleeding star) back in ACOK (S2). Not even metaphorically does she fit this prophecy. Now here’s the next counter argument: What if prophecy is just bullshit, and none of it is real, and we’re all just wasting our time? Yes, all of that is plausible. HOWEVER, you spend all this time, 8 seasons, 5 books, with SO SO SO MUCH foreshadow and hints, and LEGITIMATE EVIDENCE, that it doesn’t properly pay off? GRRM is NOT like that. There are characters in the books that predict ACCURATE prophecies and foreshadows. In fact, there is a character who is known to accurately predict prophecy. And she does for Arya. Guess who it is? *Bingo bingo!* The GHOST OF HIGHHEART. (Jenny’s Song. S8 E2)

“I see you. I see you, wolf child. Blood child. I thought it was the lord who smelled of death ... You are cruel to come to my hill, cruel. I gorged on grief at Summerhall, I need none of yours. Begone from here, dark heart. Begone!” (ASOS, pg 593)

Prophecy may not be accurate at times. But they DO pay off. This prophecy here is literally the equivalent of Melisandre giving the “Colored eyes” prophecy in the show. Because in the books, Mel doesn’t even meet Arya and there is no colored eye foreshadow, or any sort of foreshadow that she is TPTWP. There is however, other ways you can interpret this prophecy above. (You decide.)

Prophecy is a BIG THING about the books. Yes, it may not be accurate, but they HOLD MEANING. THE AZOR AHAI PROPHECY IS THE BACKBONE OF THE WHOLE WHITE WALKER STORYLINE. By ignoring this prophecy, you are essentially taking away the PURPOSE and the real motives of these characters who are INTERTWINED with this prophecy. The reason why Arya killing the NK so easily and ALONE is a problem with us, is because it invalidates this prophecy, and therefore makes everything, all the buildup absolutely POINTLESS. The characters that have been involved from Day 1 with this prophecy, have been reduced to nothing more than a side story. A myth.

Let’s look at all the characters whose building story arc have become irrelevant because of the writer’s decision to pull that plot twist:

Jon Snow:

Wow. This one literally couldn’t hurt any more than it already does... From his first chapter, to his first scene in the show, we are led to believe that this character is literally nothing more than Ned Stark’s bastard. A side character. It is made clear that he IS A BASTARD. He IS AN OUTSIDER. Both him and Arya have parallel arcs. They intertwine beautifully. This is why people think Arya will also have a role to play with the Others in the later books. Because she and Jon share the same story, just she is dealing with a different kind of death. GRRM from the book emphasizes Jon’s bastard title, and his mother. And he isn’t really made out to be an important character until MUCH LATER in the book series. The fact that there’s so much emphasis on his title, and R+L=J is IMPORTANT. Bc the whole AA prophecy states that AA will be reborn out of Jaehaerys line. Not anyone from the Starks. Also the line, “You know nothing Jon Snow,” is even more relevant because it’s full of irony. You have the guy who’s known to know nothing, but he actually KNOWS MORE than anyone realizes. Jon’s whole arc is about the Others. Which would have made his fight with them MUCH MORE PERSONAL because his storyline is physically and emotionally connected to them. The fact that he joins the Night’s Watch is important too. Because no, they don’t just fight wildlings in the books. Their purpose was to protect the realm from the Others. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men. This is so relevant because Jon becoming king, would make it MUCH MORE meaningful. A king that PROTECTED the realm. Assuming he even becomes king, would make his whole arc come full circle and would be so much more rewarding. You have this dude resurrected from the dead, and what? Was his purpose just to unite the people and become king? You have this character foreshadowed to have a standoff with the ultimate bad guy, and he does nothing but run around screaming at an undead dragon...Yes, it’s cliche. BUT IT’S STILL GOOD STORY TELLING BECAUSE IT’S BEEN BUILT UP PROPERLY.

Bran Stark:

I don’t even have words for this one... You have Brandon Stark literally the most OP person in all of the seven kingdoms and YOU. DONT. USE. HIM. Okay I agree, GRRM says Bran is the hardest character to write in the books, but that shouldn’t be an excuse for him to just warg into ravens and do what? Scout? That’s it? This kid was literally pushed off a tower that ended up triggering his journey to become the 3-eyed raven a.k.a THE MOST POWERFUL MAN IN THE UNIVERSE, and he does absolutely nothing but sit around predicting other peoples future, and being weird, and warging into ravens. Lol what’s worse is that he’s just there in the show to serve the other character’s plot line. By “TRIGGERING” these events that the characters will eventually get into. Bloodraven in the books is SCARY AS HELL. No one really knows his motive and yet he can do so much more than what Bran does in the show. Bloodraven is the definition of MIND BLOWING. Bran AND JON ARE THE TWO PEOPLE WHO ARE THE MOST PHYSICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY CONNECTED TO THE OTHERS, AND BY THE END, THEIR WHOLE ARCS WERE THROWN IN THE TRASH. They don’t have a big face off, or any sort of payoff. Just staring and staring and staring. And BAM. Welp Night King’s dead. Oops guess we were just here for absolutely no other purpose than to trigger events and bring all these dumb people together. (Sorry, this one lowkey triggered the hell out of me. The 3 eyed Raven, Hodor, Meera and Jojen DID NOT DIE just for Bran to not be used to his full potential...)

Daenerys Targaryen:

This one is soo annoying. Daenerys Targaryen, fits literally ALMOST ALL the signs of the prophecy that it almost seems too obvious if she was AA. But welp, none of that matters now because she didn’t really do anything to kill the Night King. SHE DID DO MORE THAN JON though, I’ll give her that. Yeah she’s a conqueror going for the Iron Throne. But she’s also a direct descendant of King Jaehaerys’ line. Part of her whole arc is fire and blood. But it is also about her fight for her birthright, and if she would give up her birthright to fulfill something greater. We as fans, we root for her to get the throne. But we also root for her to do something MORE. But more IMPORTANTLY, her arc is also in parallel with the Others. And no, I don’t mean that she’s a mad queen. But the title of the series is called A Song of Ice and Fire. Daenerys is a THREAT from the south. (Fire.) And the Others are a threat from the north. (Ice) There has to be a balance between them. In the show she loses a dragon, one of her children. And the fact that her choice of weapon doesn’t do ANY damage to the ultimate villain, but a simple stabbing does? I don’t even like Daenerys much after s6, but wow. This was underwelming to the core. Dragon chick who’s literally a level 1K going against another level 1K final boss and can’t do shit to him??

Rhaegar Targaryen:

This I think is the one that ANNOYS ME THE MOST. Like holy shit, they could not have possibly damaged this whole wretched storyline even more than they already did. But somehow the show writers managed to go and give it one final blow. Rhaegar Targayen. The one arguably responsible for ALL the shit we have in Game of Thrones. The one whose actions triggered nearly every single arc into motion in this whole goddamn series. The man who is arguably considered the REAL MAIN CHARACTER in ASOIAF. HIS WHOLE COMPLEX CHARACTER ARC AND STORYLINE FLUSHED DOWN THE TOILET. I love Rhaegar’s character in the books, cause he’s well, not exactly a good guy. He’s in that perfect morally grey area, which is what I love about characters. He’s not suppose to be likeable. He’s suppose to be complex. But the show not only managed to make him the MOST UNLIKEABLE character in this series, but they also managed to ruin all of his complexities in favor of making him a love-sick puppy thinking with his dick. This was lowkey the biggest fuck you they could give to his character, the characters surrounding him, (*cough* Elia) and to the lore and history of the books. Rhaegar’s whole arc and storyline revolved around this stupid prophecy and that’s literally THE reason why everything went down the way it did in the books. Elia was also INTO the prophecy too, so it’s not like she wasn’t aware of anything! Elia was even helping Rhaegar fullfill this prophecy, it just so happens that she was too sick, to do anything more. The fact that the show chose to ignore this whole thing and disregard the lore surrounding it is literally is the biggest fuck you to Elia and her children. It means that Rhaegar truly was a mad man who left his wife and disowned his children because he was thinking with his dick. When in fact it wasn’t really like that. Rhaegar really did try to protect Elia and their children when he left them. And that too gets thrown in the trash because of this dumb prophecy. And that sucks because Elia played an important role with this prophecy, and she knew and understood it too. And in the end, none of their actions became worth it... By not having the proper payoff from all of this buildup, Elia and her children literally died for NOTHING.

Other characters who’s arc were ruined by the mess in e3:

Samwell Tarly: Was the first character to discover that WW can be killed with dragonglass. He was studying at the citadel to learn more about them, and find info on how to beat them. Not only did this NOT happen, but he didn’t even contribute to anything for the end of the world. Literally just went back to being the scared little puppy he was back in S1/book1. His role then had no relevancy because NK was killed so easily, and he didn’t even learn a single thing about him or how to kill him, other than him wanting to “erase memories.” His whole arc was about him being more than what he believed in. Being smarter than what his father thought he was. And they did not utilize that. He coward back again! Like what was the point of him going to the citadel and stuff if literally the EASIEST way to kill the NK was a simple stab with a special steel?

This episode had so many problems. But Arya Stark killing the NK WASN’T the main problem. You can have the most beautiful shot television series with so much time and effort put in it. But all of that means nothing when the writing is not consistent. The fact that the show did a 360 and practically ignored literally EVERYTHING about the lore and the text, is what’s frustrating everyone. Because while Arya killing the NK and saving the realm BY HERSELF was yes, poetic and SERVED WELL TIEING UP HER ARC, in doing so, it had managed to UNTIE literally YEARS and years of plot threads and buildup from most of the other CRUCIAL characters, that in the end, it feels so empty. Arya should not have killed the NK ALONE. Bran should’ve been a part of it. Jon should’ve helped Arya kill the NK. Now that would’ve been a good payoff for both their arcs. Jon, Bran, Arya, Daenerys and Tyrion are considered by GRRM to be the CORE 5 of the story. And in the end, in this supposedly world ending apocalypse, only Arya really played a KEY role. Bran didn’t do anything powerful to stop the NK. He only triggered events and was bait. Daenerys was getting slaughtered out there, and even her most prized weapon could help her fully. Jon... Let’s be honest, no one knows what in the world Jon was doing this ep. Tyrion was down in the crypts, when this little man literally could have contributed to WAR TACTICS. All these characters are connected with the Others emotionally, physically and/or metaphorically, that the fact that only one of them became crucial to the endgame, makes the story so POINTLESS. What was the point of bringing Jon back from the dead if he was only going to unite people and become king? What was the point of Bran venturing far north to become the most powerful human being, if all he’s going to do is trigger events and warg into ravens? etc.

Arya killing the NK alone hurts because while she is foreshadowed to play a crucial role against the Others in the books, SHE IS THE MOST DISTANT FROM THEM IN TERMS OF STORYLINE. It doesn’t pay off well in the show, because until a couple of weeks ago, she didn’t even know the Others existed. Up until last night’s battle, she’s never seen a white walker. That’s why it didn’t feel right for her to do the kill alone. Her arc did not intertwine with the Others, physically or emotionally. Unlike Jon or Bran whose literal whole arc has been with the Others, and is about the Others. That’s why it feels so empty. It didn’t feel rewarding. It was undeserving. Because up until last night, she’s had no interaction with a single Other, whatsoever. The buildup was actually weak, and because of it, it didn’t feel as good as it should’ve.

Arya’s plotline is more than just hyping up to kill the Others. Like the other core members, she has a complex story arc. Arya’s storyline is about her heart in conflict with itself. It’s about her identity. Part of the reason why she struggles in AFFC & ADWD in her Faceless Man arc, is because she CAN’T become a faceless man. Her heart won’t let her forget her identity. That’s also why she’s had so many other identities in the books. Her different identities are about survival as well. They’ve helped her survive. It’s not really about revenge, and killing, and white walkers. But it’s about her, having so many identities and finding her way back to her true identity. Finding her way back to being a Stark.

So yeah. Arya killing the NK so SIMPLY when there should’ve been more, is like a big fuck you to the books and what it stands for. It invalidates the books. The fact that the books hype up this war for the dawn and prophecy and the Others, and then it just ends after 1 episode? Like that’s it? The NK being killed so easily? The payoff was weak, and it hurts not only the book fans but the book and it’s characters in general. No Arya is not Azor Ahai reborn, or any prophisized savior. She is an assassin and the slayer of the Night King. But to make it even more utterly pointless, the NK doesn’t even exist in the books.

The episode was fun, tense and good! Arya killing the NK was hella badass. But... it just wasn’t A Song of Ice and Fire.
