I normally try to avoid getting all "real life" on Tumblr, but also wanted to signal boost this (enough that I'm about to Blaze this):
The University of Michigan Gilbert and Sullivan Society (UMGASS) will be holding auditions for the Fall Semester's production of Ruddigore on September 11th-13th, 2023.
If you live in Southeastern MI, and like to act and sing (and possibly dance!) then please check out more information about the show and the audition process here:
Ensemble members are only required two nights a week for most of the rehearsal process, so it's not a big commitment.
ALSO: they are looking for people to direct and music-direct their next show, Iolanthe, which will be produced from Jan-April of 2024.
More info on how to get involved as a prod-staff member here:

So…I usually prefer to stay off of tiktok. But my band is starting to do the whole Social Media Presence thing, and tiktok is probably the biggest social media currently.
We recently starting posting parts of our songs from practice. The first video took off, over a thousand views within the first few hours. We got a hundred followers in a day with one video.
Being an openly all-trans band, I was not surprised when Lexi said that they had they immediately shadowbanned us after that. The second we got tagged as LGBTQ anything, our viewership vanished. Lexi tried to promote the video, and we were rejected for “violating community guidelines”.
You can very clearly see when we got banned. For a moment, before we were artificially suppressed, we started getting a small audience and great feedback. Then we went immediately into the crusher.
Social media is a deal maker for upstarting creators. If you don’t have a massive following and interaction, no one will pick up your work. These algorithms can take that chance away from you.
Anyways, fuck you tiktok. If you want to support trans creators, if you do the tiktok thing, if you like hot jams and punk, give us a listen and tell us what you think!
LISTED FOR $1.00! No, you don't have to move it. But, you do have to make an offer by next Wednesday. It's in Pontiac, Michigan, and has 2bds, 1ba. Let's see what we have here.
I don't know anything about construction, so I wonder why the paint is chipping like that. Is it me, or are the fan blades drooping? I'm guessing moisture?
Hallway- water stain above the door.
Bedroom #1 is smallish. More chipping paint.
What are those stains on the wall?
The 2nd bd. needs work. Seems like lots of water damage- maybe it needs a roof? Now, it's gonna need a floor, too. I'm thinkin' that piece of wood in the corner is holding the window in.
I would call the kitchen a total gut. Cute house, though. They took the appliances, so that's another expense.
The bath is standard. I would replace it all, anyway.
Is that a garage back there? There's a yard, according to the description, but it's not shown.
masters of the air has unfortunately woven itself into the very fiber of my being and the girls are writing themselves at this point. i’m not going to call it a fic yet, but i will be writing for my mota OCs under the title of Straighten Up and Fly Right. i’d like y’all to meet the women of thorpe abbotts (and beyond) circa 1943. more are on their way.
The Air
1st Lt. May Vera West, 23, of Upper Marlborough, MD - bombardier, Gin’s Joint
Please, call her Vera. Klutzy in a way that makes the fact that she’s still alive a miracle. It’s a wonder she got through training. Gets caught in a lot of awkward moments. Nervous but not anxious. Mousy, energetic. A quick thinker and a rule follower—not an insubordinate bone in her body.
Cpt. Virginia “Ginny” Franklin, 25, of Seattle, WA - command pilot, Gin’s Joint
Sly talking, suave blonde bombshell with a face for the pictures. Chews gum in a way that’ll make your heart pound. Hell of a pilot. College girl. Loves her “sisters” (her crew) and every woman under her command. Quite friendly but not to the British. Can and will charm every CO out of worrying about the competency of her crew. Very laid back, a little (a lot) messy.
1st Lt. Mahalia Summerton, 24, of Ypsilanti, MI - pilot, Blue Baby
Eldest daughter of two sharecroppers who started flying planes to help crop dust nearby farms. Worked her way through college and into a pilot’s license. Chooses fighter planes over the big birds once she joins up and leads her own squadron of Red Tails in Italy. No-nonsense and aloof to strangers, protective once she opens up. Bold.
The Ground
Lola Rosales-Mooreland, 19, of McAllen, TX - Clubmobile hostess
Small town banker’s daughter making her way into the wide world, wielding her miraculous medal against temptation and tragedy with less and less efficiency. Tries not to be a goody two shoes but can’t quite break the habit of trusting blindly in authority. Loves to dance. Sweet tooth.
Roberta “Bobbie” Chambers, 24, of Arlington, VA - Clubmobile hostess
An Army brat who runs her Clubmobile like a world-class regiment. Doesn’t accept any less than the best and doesn’t accept excuses. Tries to instill a sense of purpose into her girls beyond quaint patriotism; donuts can win the war and by God it’ll be hers that will. Will never admit how much she likes dancing. A morning person. And it's Bobbie, not Roberta.
Sgt. Dellarose Williamson, 21, Detroit, MI - mechanic
Knows machinery better than most people know themselves. There’s no such thing as a lost cause, just a thing that needs a little love. Brushes off every slight about her height with a bright smile and dimples that make you feel bad about razzing her. Has a busy mind that can run away from itself sometimes. Runs on three hours of sleep and a strong black coffee.
just finished splatter platter 1 it fucked severely (<- positive) ❤️ my question is is the implication that lonnie’s the co-ed killer dolores mentions or has he not been actively up to stuff yet
Oooooo I’m so glad you enjoyed !!! The co ed killer was a real serial killer from I believe 1967-1969 between Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor, MI which is the general area where they all live. I’m just setting up exhibition :))
Brad Hood, in the North American P-51D Mustang "Hurry Home Honey," leads Major George "Dog" Clifford, Viper East Demo Team commander and pilot, in the General Dynamics F-16C Fighting Falcon at the 2008 Thunder Over Michigan Airshow held by the Yankee Air Museum at Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti, MI.
Self Portrait XXIV (Twenty-Four) + Bonus Intro
*ahem* Meowdy! My name's Sigma Baker, though most folks just call me Siggy. I have been a mostly self-taught illustrator for almost eleven years. I studied Illustration at Washtenaw Community College in Ypsilanti, MI. I currently am a Game Art Design BS major at Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL. I specialize in Character Art & Animation.
I... Haven't had anywhere to post my personal work again for years until now- well i'm BACK BABEEYYYYYYYYYY-
This year is my eighth anniversary of the beginning of my medical transition, my ninth year living as my authentic self, my twenty-fourth birthday and the halfway point of my bachelor's degree.
2024 is basically the beginning of the rest of my life; so we're starting it off with an illustration of a face I once detested; my face. Well today, we celebrate my face.
A face that has changed, and grown, so much in the last near-decade.
Look at us go- we're doing it lil guy!
Emily @sunflower-spirit at a park south of Ypsilanti, MI in early spring 2021. Photographed with Kodak Tmax100 35mm film. She looks so witchy particularly with the ancient knotted tree in the other picture!

Here is a crop to show how much detail 35mm Tmax 100 film has. I scan at over 5000dpi to achieve 36 megapixels of digital resolution, just slightly overshooting the film's approximate 34 megapixels of fully analog granular detail.
