ur so unbelievably right anon. he's fucking you so good you barely even process the sudden downward jolt of the bed, but when you're both done and recuperating before cleaning up, him lying almost on top of you, you realise that your mattress is at an. oddly slanted angle.

he's up immediately, checking under the bed to see if something just got dislodged and can be fixed but nope. a load-bearing wooden beam has snapped clean in half. he's so apologetic, also kinda horrified that he fucked you hard enough to break a whole ass wooden beam despite how much you visibly enjoyed it. he will never tease u about not being able to walk the next day again. but yknow. an IKEA date doesn't sound half bad.

he loves the domesticity of it; while you spend most of your time in the bedroom section choosing a new (and sturdier) bed, you do get in a good wander around the whole store. lets himself imagine the two of you are furnishing a house you share, but he'll keep those sappy thoughts to himself unless you bring up something similar. after that, you essentially plan out your dream home together as you walk around, and he looks so happy you'd almost think this was the plan from the start.

however, if anyone asks why you're looking for a new bed, you will have to do all the talking bc he's still. pretty damn embarrassed abt it (embarrassed enough to pay for the new bed).

I try not to get into RG discourse because I’m wary of it turning into some kind of “well your guy said the n-word,” gotcha game.

but, in this specific case, it’s becoming increasingly clear RG is falling/has fallen down the right wing manosphere pipeline. parroting talking points about how women are denying their natural differences and aren’t open to understanding the male perspective™ isn’t ignorance or poor judgment, it’s indicative of a pretty specific ideology with very clear roots.

the reason this has me going 😬, is because unless he has someone irl pulling him back from this shit, we're potentially only seeing the tip of the iceberg and it could easily get much worse.

There's no way Hugo's dead. Even if Lycaon did put his hand through his heart, we know that there was an Organ Trafficking thing going on, and we know exactly who, why, and how.

Even Vivian, Future-Seer that she is, has the gut feeling that He's not dead. Nah.

Like, maybe he is dead because Lycaon killed him and proved him right in the end, but I seriously feel like we would have seen his dead body on the ground.

Hugo Isn't dead, or at least, permanently dead.

I could write an essay on Doctor Odyssey and how the fantastical aspect of the ship isn't due to it being the purgatory or a dream but rather linked to the metatextual plot of the show and how the Odyssey is meant to be an in-universe representation of what the show aims to be in our reality, a direct answer to the effects of the COVID pandemic on our world that aims to create an atmosphere of escapism in a medical environment to create hope and happiness while still acknowledging current events. The weekly themes, along with the very goal of the show, are the strongest indicator of a meta narrative, very clearly designed with the show's weekly nature in mind. They wouldn't work as well in a show designed for streaming. Captain Massey himself says the ship is carefully built to show itself as a heaven to its guests, explaining the unrealistic scenarios and vibe of the show, but by focusing on the emergencies that happen on board the show allows the viewers to explore the cracks in that illusion and creates a place in which both serious themes and mindless fun can be equally approached. We see that contrast in 1x06 when the screen cuts from a threesome straight to the suicidal hotline screen; the episode successfully indulges in the hedonism of the cruise ship established early on without detriment to its more serious storyline, which includes one of the best portrayals of panic attacks I've ever seen on tv. Although both concepts are more clearly separated throughout the episode, the cut-off from one to another at the end is jarring, reminding the viewer of how both concepts coexist both in the Odyssey and in real life. As silly as it might be at times, the show isn't mindless, but rather a well-executed reminder that there is light at the end of every tunnel, and that maybe that light comes in the form of a Ryan Murphy network tv show about a throuple solving medical emergencies on a cruise ship.
