Lene's body type is thin, with arms of decent reach, alongside slim legs that are firm enough for balancing. By all accounts, the perfect body suited for the woman striving to be the perfect dancer. Any dancer worth their salt would not think twice of this exemplary structure. Lene should be proud.

Lene wants to be comfortable.

No ordinary man ever stops to consider the drawbacks of a dancer's perfect body. They only see a slender doll, a ballerina mannequin in the middle of an act. They have their fun, watching on (or cheering on, if they're very rowdy) and maybe throw some coin to try winding it up again for an encore performance. To them, Lene isn't the perfect body.

She's the perfect toy.

Now, is Lene proud of her body? Of course, it is the reason she is able to continue dancing, the hobby that she truly loves. But if she wants to keep at it, she has to keep her body in pristine condition.

No time for gorging out on the luxuries that her spectators feast on at inns, or the regulars will abandon their pudgy failure. No time for wrinkles to show on her face or arms; stamp them out with more makeup. No time for excessive breaks, or she risks her legs from giving in.

Lene feels secure about her body type, since she knows that giving it up will result in her doom. Does that mean that in the end, she's only insecure of her body?

That's not for her to decide. It's in her customers' hands.

pan dulce - do they have an "i can fix them" complex? or are they one that needs to be fixed? if neither, how do they feel about the idea?

[ Her partner was never the problem. If he cannot notice her attempts, then she is simply the one doing things wrong. Multiple times, Faye states her reason for fighting and triumphing on the battlefield and yet he never notices. They were trained together as kids and held a bond in battle for so long, and he just never got it.

But he didn't need fixing, it's her own fault! She needed to get better, get stronger for his sake. Stronger until he could no longer ignore her strong and pure feelings. Maybe this whole war thing is getting in the way and he just wanted a reminder of the simpler things in life. Sharing meals...she can cherish in those moments for him.

Lene is more attracted to the person behind the pretty physical features rather than the superficial details. She already shows off herself in great detail for the sake of her dances. Not only is she numb to the desire from physical features, but she actively looks for more when it comes to love.

Lene needs someone that is grounded to reality. Not to the same extent that she is (if anything, holding superiority in that aspect does make her happier at times), but someone that is aware of their position in life. And in spite of that position, strives for the bettering of themselves as well as Lene. A bit selfish, asking for someone so selfless. But she only does so because she knows that she will give back the same and then some within a relationship.

Another greedy feature, but Lene needs someone that will pay attention to her. Keep their eyes on her. They need to give her the attention she might need at any given time. Her life has been lonely, and she cannot risk finding that same depressing loneliness from a fake relationship. But as before, Lene will promise to give her partner the attention they need just the same.

And finally, somewhat related: her partner should have good eyes. Not too wide, not too thin, not too piercing. They should have a gaze that makes it easy to know that they are looking at her and she has their attention. Welcoming eyes that she can count on speaking her mind with.

Ignoring how disappointingly short SoV's supports are, trying to look at Faye's negligence toward Silque's friendship beyond an "ALMALMALM" standpoint is rather interesting!

While they are similar in age, Faye in this moment knows she couldn't be any more different from Silque. In the C Support, Silque tries to bring up womanly gossip as a method of bonding, but Faye is quick to shoot that down. Likewise, Faye immediately refuses talking about Alm in this instance, claiming:

Faye: Talking about Alm isn’t fun unless Alm himself is there. [SoV Faye/Silque B Support]

While I doubt her village-based childhood was void of any female friends, it is clear that Faye's main friend group is with the boys, perhaps being the children Faye was the closest to age-wise in the village. Even if she is 18 years old during the events of SoV, she has no desire in speaking about gossip that isn't "for the ears of men," as Silque puts it. The point of Alm being in the conversation isn't because Alm is the topic, but because Alm is someone she enjoys being with.

On top of being from a lifestyle unfamiliar to Faye, the way Silque attempts to insert herself into Faye's life gets to the village girl, and even if she tries to sound nice about it, her quickness in dismissing Silque makes her intentions clear. She has no interest in being her friend...until she feels lonely in their A Support, at least. Either way, Faye will more often than not have a slow-burn relationship when it comes to making friends of the same gender.

As a bonus, I would like to mention that Sacred Echoes, the GBA demake of SoV, changes this B Support to instead focus on Silque asking Faye about her village life only for the same line of dismissal to occur. This supports my own viewing of this support, where Faye just does not connect to Silque and tries to make it clear that Silque should quit while she's ahead, while adding to the fact that Faye is not really comfortable with sharing her background to outsiders. ]

So. All this to tell the idea "shimmer is used as a medicine that helps patients in critical condition to survive their surgeries". It's very regulated and Silco's ass is in the line if anyone abuses shimmer.

I also wanted to tie some scenes/lines etc from season 1 to the Alternative Universe. And make Silco a bit more, well, Silco but with the AU vibe. I am also not letting Singed go, he is gonna be helping Silco and getting something in return. Maybe the kids are gonna try to build Orianna her body. Also, whatever the universe, Singed will burn his face. No timeline will save him. He is just like that.
