Drawing up plans for our first #aframecabin 🤩✍️📏🏠 Designing your own place from scratch is ideal but it takes some know how and professionalism when it comes to not only the building skills but the before part... the writing it all out and putting it down on paper. Measurements have to be done in the head before anything is ever bought and everything has to be done to scale. Someone with little to no experience needs to hire someone that has done this plenty of times but still make sure they know what they are doing because there’s a lot of ways to build a house wrong! Thankfully @andersonsway knows exactly what he is doing! 😁🎉👷🏾‍♂️🙏❤️🌊🔥🌊🔥 So for our first shelter we are working on the main house.... and oh my there’s still so much to decide! Picking out everything from what type of materials to use, how the layout goes, windows, siding, flooring, etc.... we have so much fun with it and love making decisions together. It’s been nearly a year since moving to Hawaii. This will have been the longest I was in any state for many years. I have been traveling for much of the last decade of my life and it has shown me, taught me, connected me with so many great individuals, but more than anything it has taught me about myself. The importance of necessity, sobriety, being there for myself. Not relying on others yet know when to ask for help. Being completely bound to nothing noplace and no one...... all to bring me to this.... a state of settlement. Being content with where I am. Having appreciation for who I am and how far I have come. For what I have overcome. Being grateful for those around me and enjoying solitude. Making a difference and being the change. Following my gut. Being honest. Letting love guide my choices instead of fear. Truly thankful for this experience and how much Hawaii has given and taken from me. I still have a long road to healing but i have to recognize that this place has done a lot of good for my soul.
