there's something so intense and special about prongsfoot. just, in general, I can't describe it as anything distinct; romantic, platonic, familial, they're above that, they're soulmates.

something in my heart just KNOWS that, even with wolfstar, Sirius would be picking James over Remus and anyone else. every. single. time. I love my own best friend in that way- the type of bond that transcends anything, everything, else. I would love her more than my own children if I had any, what does blood and labour matter when I've spent almost my entire life loving her?

now, despite this, I do think that James isn't like Sirius, he would pick his family (yes, Sirius is his family, but in a different sense to Lily and Harry) if it came to that, it's the crux of his character. I might not know for certain how this would feel for Sirius, since my own best friend doesn't want marriage or kids, but I have a strong feeling that he wouldn't care. loving James is loving fiercely, and he would put his own life on the line to save Lily and Harry, because that would mean saving something James loves.

prongsfoot aren't each other's other halves, like Remus or Lily, they are each other's wholes; past the loss of a limb and more like the numb sense of nothingness beyond "us."

not to group in all gingers (even though I'm in love with all of you), but there's something so special about imagining Lily reading Anne of Green Gables as a kid and hardcore relating to Anne like, obviously they might look similar, red hair, freckles, maybe a bit insecure (Anne thinking she was homely</3 and as a plus-size girlie myself, I could see Lils being a little insecure about it in her younger years- even tho she's lovely), but also she's BRILLIANT. Both girls have such bright, intelligent personalities and free, creative spirits see also; James. is. Gilbert. a boy completely enamoured with the poor redhead, teasing her and pining after her even though she kinda hates him and potentially even views him as an (academic) rival?! was I describing Jilly or Anne/Gilbert? THEY'RE THE SAME!! and its so cute and so perfect, because in both stories they end up madly in love and married, it just makes me giggle absolutely do NOT think about the parallel of Lily reading and loving a book about an orphaned girl, finding comfort in it, without knowing that her own son would be an orphan; imagining little Harry tracing his mother's name on the inside cover of her old copy :(
