How to motivate yourself to exercise
I find the best way to motivate myself to go to the gym is to put on a workout outfit that makes me feel good about myself. Whenever I feel down about how I look or the progress I’m making, I often don’t want to go to the gym. A great thing to encourage myself is when I put on a new sports bra or some new leggings and go to the gym fully confident and feeling cute in my outfit. People don’t realize that when you think you look good, you will have better workouts. Some of my best workouts have come from 8 dollar new leggings from Walmart. Whatever you do, don’t be discouraged. Work through the idea that you hate the gym. Once you train yourself to go consistently, you’ll find you feel sad when you miss.

Hey guys! I just wanted to touch base with whoever is reading this. Today’s fun fact is based on *drum roll* CALORIES! Everybody talks about calories in reference to losing weight. This is also why people choose not to eat or to eat less when trying to lose weight. Let me debunk some of this stuff for you. In order to lose weight, it is important to EXERCISE. And no, exercise doesn’t mean a full hour of cardio. When you’re overweight or just want to get “toned”, there is a huge misconception that you need to do cardio all the time. Let me nip that in the bud for you guys. Your body essentially adapts to every type of cardio you do when you do it consistently. So if you’re walking on the treadmill for thirty minutes as your workout everyday, your body will adapt to that eventually. At first, you will notice some weight loss, and then it’ll drop off. That’s because your body has adapted. So that means..... WEIGHTS! The number one reason a lot of people don’t pick up weights is because they’re intimidated or scared of looking stupid. Here’s some advice for that... Don’t be. Everybody in the gym is trying to better themselves. If someone judges you for trying to better yourself, that’s THEIR problem, not yours. If you don’t know what to do, google some workouts or head over to bodybuilding.com and see what workouts they have for beginners. It’s a simple step to change your life for the better. Get off the treadmill and get on those weights. You build muscle when you lift. When you do cardio, you burn muscle AND fat. That’s why you see “cardio butts” vs “lifting butts” compared and contrast. Oh, and by the way, the more muscle you build, the more calories are burned especially when you’re resting (aka not working out during the rest of the day). Have a great weekend!

This is an important post. I’m not very familiar with Tumblr and all the stuff that goes on in this app. However, recently I came across a portion of this community that appear to be condoning and encouraging eating disorders. I’m not sure how or why this has been allowed on this site. On my stomach, you can see that I have plenty of meat and fat and muscle. The pictures of the girls I have seen in this eating disorder community have been horrifying. I can’t shake it. I can’t shake the posts I’ve read about girls not eating much and if they do they’ll “screw everything up”. I don’t know much about eating disorders, but I do know if anyone ever tries to encourage you to do something that you know is wrong and horrible for you; cut them and their influence out of your life. If you want to lose weight, do it by lifting, exercising, and eating balanced and nutritious meals. Stop torturing your body; it didn’t do anything to you.

I’ve been M I A on tumblr for awhile. However, I still really want to help people with their fitness goals. I will not edit my photos (other than a cute filter to make it look hip, duh). However, I think it is important to watch your physical changes through working out. Feel free to ask me any questions regarding Fitness or the blog links I post. I post blog links because I think health and fitness include your mental health and the things we go through as well as physical fitness. It’s important to train your mind and body, not just one or the other. I hope everyone has a great Monday.
