Acknowledging that “critical thinking” means “thinking about things in a thorough way from different perspectives” and not “finding every flaw in a thing and fixating on it until all the joy is gone” is so liberating.
It’s supposed to be about intellectual curiosity, not about finding ways to devalue things that aren’t perfect or that we personally dislike.

there's so many statistics i've read during my undergrade degree that make me want to write a bunch of papers on so many topics but seeing the dipropionate numbers showing the harsh reality of the world bi women face, we really do have to face the biphobia and stop minimizing it. especially within our own community. enough!
as someone who's graysexual/rom, i purposely watch how i talk to try to include all when i speak because there is no right or wrong when it comes to how we are. we are who we are, and we need to love and accept ourselves. (coming from my own history of swinging between hypersexuality and aro/ace due to trauma, i've learned to destigmatize my language as much as i can because i never want to make someone feel bad for where they're at or who they are.)
we are all valid in how we express ourselves and our gender/sexuality/rom identities. let's keep this in mind for all varieties of people. what might not be your cuppa is someone's else's, so just try to be kind and considerate. exploration isn't meant to be sterilized or streamline. let people live and figure shit out however they need and love em on their journey to self-discovery and acceptance or leave em be to do their thing.
(sorry, just did my final and it was touching on another older paper i did about gen stats of SDOH for lgbt (but the ones for bi women in particularly were appalling) and i just... i can't stop spreading the individuation vibes. LOVE YOURSELVES, PLS!!! and learn to be there for your fellow people as much as you can while taking care of yourself, frens.)
Actually, bi women who love sex, threesomes, kinky stuff, partying, and drunk make out sessions with other women are essential to the lgbt community. Die mad over it.😁

sometimes, yeah. it do be like that.
there's little tricks i've seen since i was younger about rewording the intro in the closing that's helped me. i tend to just reread the whole thing from start to finish sm times that my mind puts the key points into a little summary paragraph in a few lines, then i reread the intro just to make it a further concise summary. i hope that helps.
remember, the thesaurus is our friend, when burnt out, search it out. you can find new words to express the same things.

this fr was exactly what has always grounded me time and time again back on track. i always knew what i didn’t want to become and the life i didn’t want to live, even if i didn’t always have a clear outline otherwise, that kept me chipping away in some direction for something good for myself, regardless.
(i like some self-help sorts of content to help hype me up and re-inspire but this is the real foundation. in learning anything, they say to always build from a “why” that deeply matters to you and that’s what my “anti” list was, i guess.)

Me: hey...sorry im not feeling up to our date tonight. can we reschedule. i really need some r&r.
the r&r in question: chaotic classical records playing as i drink excessive amounts of coffee while researching a fuck ton of history, religions, and general words in other languages which brought me to ending up in some rabbit hole focused on concepts and their formation, such as gothic and grotesque aesthetics/philosophies alongside the etymology of different words to try and fully encapsulate my own philosophy to finally create a term for it for my final essay.
i have like 30 tabs open rn. RIP.

Let's Talk About PIE (Proto-Indo-European) - Reconstructing Old Languages
Not her saying Lithuanian most closely resembles PIE.
Well, seeing as my great great grandfather was so dang proud of being born and raised in Lithuania and, from my research of our last name, it seems the rare form of it is probably derived from Lithuanian, I should actually get around to learning it.

Alan Turing Birthday Post
23 June 1912–7 June 1954 (aged 41).
Today, we remember Alan Turing—a brilliant mind, a war hero, and a gay man whose legacy shaped the modern world. Alan Turing cracked the Nazi Enigma code during WWII, shortening the war and saving millions of lives. He laid the foundations for computer science and artificial intelligence.
And yet, after the war, he was persecuted by the very country he helped save—criminalized for being gay and subjected to chemical castration.
We remember Turing not only for his genius, but for his humanity, for who he was. His story is a reminder of the countless queer figures in history who contributed to our progress, often in silence, often erased.
Honoring queer history means saying their names. It means never letting anyone silence, or make you feel or think that you can't go do something great based on the fact that you're a part of LBGTQIA+ family. You're stronger for who you are, don't ever let anyone make you forget that!
Never forget those who make today possible!
Let them inspire you to take action in whatever way you feel called to in this life, to make a better today and tomorrow!
(Read this for information not touched on in The Imitation Game!)

"these researchers published a paper on something that literally any of us could have told you 🙄" ok well my supervisors wont let me write something in my thesis unless I can back it up with a citation so maybe it's a good thing that they're amplifying your voice to the scientific community in a way that prevents people from writing off your experiences as annecdotal evidence

πῦρ - Fire
πῦρ • (pûr) n (genitive πῠρός); third declension
a fire
a funerary fire
a sacrificial fire
lightning
a fever
Usage notes:
Not used in plural, but there is a related second-declension plural noun πῠρᾰ́ (pŭrắ, “watchfires”); distinguish this from the first-declension noun πῠρᾱ́ (pŭrā́, “funeral pyre”).
Used by Hebraism with the force of an adjective, fiery, fierce; fire used figuratively to express various circumstances of severe trial.
sources: πῦρ - Wiktionary, the free dictionary πῦρ | Free Online Greek Dictionary | billmounce.com
I examined because of this quote:
Diogenianus, 8.45
“When I fled the smoke, I fell into the fire”: [this proverb is applied] to those who flee rather minor troubles only to fall upon greater ones.
#might start making break down posts of quotes as I get back into learning for longer periods to be able to do so#ancient greek#greek#and then i can keep coming back to them to add every time i examine them in different contexts to add some thoughts to
