The Final Chapter
By Luci
July 9, 2015: The First Day of Comic Con
Exactly 4 months since Steve disappeared in the Real Life AU
Exactly 1 month since Steve had died
Steve felt wrong.
He remembered everything. Every portal, every almost-death, every moment with his soulmate, Jimmy. And now, here he was, in a car on his way to Comic Con with the seven people who had been there that day, all of them claiming to have no memory of Captain Kirk kidnapping Steve during dance class.
Steve had asked them all together and individually about that day. Kara said all she remembered was Steve prepping for a left turn then going right. Ashley said Steve left in the middle of class then stopped showing up. Paris said she forgot who he was until he appeared a few months ago in their basement, crying and claiming he had died.
To be honest, Steve wasn’t sure why they kept him around after that. Gacé said the same.
It had been a month since that incident. It also happened to be the day of the Rhythm Fusion’s dance show. When all the RFs - Ashley, Paris, Gacé, Kara, Matt, Kaia, and Colleen - had come back to the studio after the show, they found Steve sobbing in the basement. They were all dumbfounded, and Mozy had called the cops. In the end, Officers McCain and Malfoy chalked it up to Steve had been kidnapped and escaped and now he was home.
Steve went along with it, not knowing what else to do.
He had tried to explain what he had been through to the officers, but they told him he was in shock. Steve knew he was in shock, but he also knew what had happened to him.
He traveled through alternate universes with Jimmy Kirk, his one true love, because of a curse placed on them by the wizard Sarumon.
Now, Steve sat, numb as always, in the passenger’s seat of a van, reluctantly going to Comic Con with the RFs. Gacé was driving and Paris, dressed as Honey Lemon from Big Hero 6, was reading out loud from an article that was sweeping the internet.
“Love is in the air this July as a fourth surprise celebrity couple announces their engagement.
“It started on June 9th, when Daniel Radcliffe, best known for playing Harry Potter, and Supernatural’s Osric Chau announced their engagement.
“‘We had been dating for years in secret,’ said Radcliffe. ‘Something just felt right, and we wanted the world to know about our love.’
“They were the first of many. Next, Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins, also from Supernatural, announced they were together. Their costar, Jared Padalecki, got engaged to his long-time girlfriend Ezri Guide, shortly after that.
“‘I am so happy for Ezri and Jared,’ said Ackles on Twitter. ‘I can’t think of a better couple.’
“Most recently, Felicia Day, known for playing Charlie on Supernatural, and Liv Tyler, Arwen from the Lord of the Rings, announced their engagement.
“With all these happy couples making their way into the spotlight, we at Sixteen Magazine want to know: who’s next?”
“Wow,” said Kara, crammed in the back with Colleen, Kaia, and Matt. “I feel like this is out of a fanfiction!”
“But it’s all true!” said Paris. “It’s hard, almost impossible to believe, and yet…”
Steve stopped listening. He knew it was all true, but he was closer to the situation than everyone would believe. He was happy the friends he made in the AUs were happy, but nothing felt the same. He couldn’t even be sure they were the same people, but this was too close to be a coincidence.
The last place Steve wanted to go was Comic Con, where the actors who portrayed some of his closest friends would be. It would be too painful. Yet he knew the RFs would drag him to see the Supernatural cast, just like they dragged him out of his room to go to the event in the first place. This was 2015, afterall, and the RFs were still big fans of Supernatural.
Steve tried to tune out their excited chatter and pay attention to the radio. Stay With Me by Sam Smith was playing. Tears welled in Steve’s eyes. This was their song…
“This song sucks!” said Kara. “Pass me the aux.”
She plugged her iPhone 5 in, not needing an adaptor or anything, and played Basketball by Kurtis Blow. Steve took deep breaths, calming himself down. As Kurtis Blow sang, the convention center came into view. Gacé parked the car, and they all piled out. Everyone was dressed up for the occasion. Well, everyone but Steve, who had decided to wear his okayest pajama pants and a Homestuck t-shirt, which he figured would allow him to blend in. Matt was dressed as Dean Winchester and Gacé was Sam. Kara, Kaia, and Paris were characters from Big Hero 6. Colleen was dressed as the Zebra Goddess, who she claimed was from a really popular movie, yet no one knew what she was talking about. Ashley was supposed to be Anastasia Steele from 50 Shades of Grey, but to Steve she looked like she was just wearing regular clothes.
“Alright RFs, who’s ready to do this!” Ashley said.
The gang cheered and followed her to the doors of the convention center.
Steve stayed back for a moment, looking around at all the people streaming into the building.
“Feeling overwhelmed?” Paris asked.
Steve took a deep breath. “Yeah. This is the first big thing I’ve done since…” he didn’t finish. He didn’t have to.
“If it’s too much we’ll leave,” Paris said, looking like that’s not what she wanted to do at all.
“No, I’ll be okay. Let’s do this.”
The gang walked around for a while, seeing as many booths as possible and doing the things people do at Comic Con.
About an hour in, and Steve was feeling good. He bought himself a new Steven Universe shirt and a churro. The gang was rounding a corner when Steve saw him, and his heart stopped.
There, at the Sharknado 2 booth, was Billy Ray Cyrus.
Steve knew this wasn’t his Billy Ray. It couldn’t possibly be. But everything about the man was familiar. From the way he stood to the way he was laughing at something his costar, Kelly Osborn, said.
Steve didn’t know what came over him. He dropped his churro and ran right at Billy Ray. He could hear the RFs yelling after him, but he didn’t care. He had to know.
Suddenly, Steve was grabbed by two beefy security guards. He tried to get past them, but they were too beefy. So he did the only thing he could.
“Billy Ray! Billy Ray Cyrus!” he yelled in desperation. “Please, do you remember me?”
Billy Ray looked up, and right into Steve’s eyes. Steve would never forget the next words Billy Ray spoke.
“Sorry partner, I don’t believe we’ve met.”
Steve stopped fighting and the guards dragged him out of the room.
“This is embarrassing,” Matt muttered as the RFs followed the guards to where Steve was being held.
They were told that Steve was to sit in Comic Con jail for the rest of the evening and they could come pick him up when the convention closed. They were now on their way to get him.
“We never even got to go to the Star Trek booth,” Paris said sassily.
“That might have been too much for Steve,” Ashley said. They all vaguely knew what Steve had told the police when he returned, and they all avoided the subject of Star Trek as much as possible.
“At least we got that picture with Jared and Jensen!” said Gacé.
“Whatever, let’s just get Steve and go,” said Colleen. “I need me a fry pile.”
The gang nodded in agreement.
The convention hall was pretty clear, so they didn’t think they would have a problem getting Steve out safely.
No one said anything as Steve emerged from the room he was being kept in.
“Sorry guys,” Steve said, not meeting any of their eyes.
“It’s fine, let’s just get out of here,” said Kara.
As they walked through the convention center, no one said anything. Nearly every booth was empty. Except one.
The Star Trek booth.
“Oh no,” someone said, as Steve stared at him.
It wasn’t Jimmy, not his Jimmy. But Zebra Goddess, did it look like him.
There stood William Shatner, talking to Walter Koenig, who played Chekov. Several other cast members from the original series stood around, listening to something Walter was playing on his iPod.
“It’s not that bad!” said Willy Shatz, laughing.
“Oh yes it is!” said Nichelle Nichols, or as Steve had known her, Uhura.
Steve listened closer and realized they were listening to William Shatner’s cover of Bohemian Rhapsody.
“Come on,” said Paris, grabbing Steve’s arm and trying to stop him from gawking.
William Shatner seemed to notice the commotion. He looked up from his conversation and at Steve. There was something familiar in his eyes, something Steve recognized.
Could it be…?
William Shatner broke away from the crowd as the music swelled and made his way over to the RFs. Steve was frozen in shock.
“We have to get him out of here,” said Ashley, pushing Steve from the opposite side Paris was pulling.
Gacé was preparing to pick Steve up and carry him out of the convention center to avoid what would inevitably be a disaster.
Kara stepped in front of Steve. “S- sorry, Mr. Shatner, we were just leaving,” Kara said.
William Shatner pushed past her and walked up to Steve. Paris, Ashley, and Gacé backed off.
“Have we met?” said William Shatner. “You look very familiar.”
“I - I don’t believe so, no,” said Steve, looking down at his ratty shoes.
From across the room, Walter yelled. “Oh, what the hell?” He was fiddling with his iPod. Bohemian Rhapsody cut off and Cherry Pie started playing.
“Yes,” said William Shatner, smiling, ignoring his friend. “I know you.”
He took a step back and the music grew louder. A yellow light appeared from his chest and he was lifted into the air. He started spinning, the light growing stronger and rainbow sparkles emerging. He was going through a magical girl transformation!
He landed on the ground, kneeling, head down. When he looked up he was no longer William Shatner. He stood, and before Steve was Jimmy Kirk. His Jimmy Kirk. In full Star Trek uniform, looking as young as he had on the show.
“I’ve waited years for a love like you,” said Jimmy, smiling. “Did you really think I’d give up so easily?”
Steve and Jimmy embraced and kissed. The gang and the cast of the original series had no choice but to stare, confused.
“Jimmy,” said Steve breathlessly. “I knew you were real.”
“Let’s get out of here,” he took his communicator out of his pocket. “Scotty, beam us up.” He took Steve’s hand.
“Will, that’s just a prop,” said Walter.
Jimmy ignored him. One final portal appeared before Steve.
“I made this last universe just for us,” said Jimmy. “Ready to go, Cherry Pie?”
Steve looked into his lover’s eyes and smiled. “I’m ready.”
Together, they walked through the portal and into the rest of their lives.

The New New Testament (Ch. 1)
By Father Par Par and Luci
Warnings: swearing, violence, and recreational drug use
edited - keep reading link
Jesús Christ was not the most popular boy in school. However, he was one of those guys who the popular people wanted to be friends with, but they couldn’t quite figure him out. You see, Jesús was a real chill guy. He had fluffy, curly black hair which he often kept in a bun or ponytail. He was half black and half mexican, and he was beautiful. But he was humble about it. He was on the swim team, the best woodshop student the school had seen in 2018 years, and always seen at the volunteer events in the community. He was a real average guy, who just happened to be………….. The son of God!
God was the the most successful CEO of the most successful business in America. He lived at the top of the tallest skyscraper in the land. It looked out over Detroit, the best city (AN: and if you haven’t been to Detroit screw you!). Jesús saw his dad on weekends, because every other day, he lived with his mom, María, and his stepfather, Joseph.
“You ready for that math test, JC? Cause I’m not!” oh yeah. And his stepbrother, Kendall. Kendall was about a whole head taller than Jesύs. He had curly blonde hair and a pleasant enough face. He was not on the swim team, and therefore, was not as fit.
“I don’t know, I could’ve studied more… I feel like I’m probably gonna fail,” said Jesύs.
“Well, you better not fail,” said María, her hands on her hips. Maria was a beautiful Mexican woman with brown skin and hair. “And you better get out of here or else you’ll be late for school!”
Jesύs and Kendall grabbed their backpacks and headed out the door, barely making it to the bus on time.
“Do you have swim practice after school?” Kendall asked Jesύs. “Cause I was wondering if you wanted to help me make some hor’ dourves for the party tonight?”
“Yeah I do. And Jason’s party? The quarterback?”
“Oh krust, did you not get an invitation?” asked Kendall.
“Yeah I got an invite, but I’m not going.”
“Why not! It’s gonna be lit!”
“Well, I already planned a movie night with Mags and Pete. Were watching Sing. You can join us if you want.”
“No, I don’t want to fourth wheel on your date,” said Kendall.
“What? It’s not a date!” “Mhmm, sure JC,” said Kendall, bouncing his eyebrows.
JC rolled his eyes. “Whatever. I’ll help you with the hor’ dourves though.”
The school was boppin with Friday energy as the bus rolled up, top down, I Am the City by ABBA blasting. Kendall and JC hopped out of the bus and split apart, heading to their respective first hours.
As JC walked into his first hour, he saw his two bffs, Peter Saint and Mary “Mags” Magdalene sitting in their usual seats in the back row. Peter was wearing Jesύs’s swim team hoodie and jeans. Pete was tall with brown hair and lots of freckles that Jesύs sometimes got lost counting. Mags was short with dark skin and hair that was braided in an intricate knot atop her head. She was wearing overalls, cuffed at the bottom, with a cute striped sweater underneath. They greeted Jesύs as he walked through the door.
“Greetings Jesύs!” they said in unison. Mags and Pete looked at each other and started laughing.
“Hey guys,” Jesύs said kissing them both on the cheek before sitting down between them. “Is that my hoodie?”
“Yeah, you left it at my house when you two spent the night the other day,” said Pete.
The kid sitting in front of them turned around and grumbled, “Get a room…”
Just then, the teacher walked in. It was…………..Dumbledore!!! As Dumbledore started teaching, Jesύs found a note flutter onto his desk. He opened it and it said in Mags’s handwriting “Did you get invited to Jason’s party tonight? Because we did.”
Jesύs wrote back, “Yeah, but obviously I’m not going. I have better plans ;)”.
Mags blushed and wrote back, “When should we come over?”
“I’ll text you guys. I have swim practice then I have to help Kendall make hor’ dourves.”
Mags read this and looked at Jesύs with confusion. He shrugged and waved it off. The trio spent the rest of the hour listening to Dumbledore moan on about Moby Dick.
After school, Jesύs had swim practice, just like any ole day. The swim team was made up of 13 guys, and Jesύs considered these guys some of his closest friends. Pete was on the swim team, and he was the best diver in the school. Judas was the captain of the swim team, and he was an absolute swimming star. There was also Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew, Jim, Jude, Simon, Matthias, and Paul. Together, they were a force to be reckoned with.
And this force was about to reckon with all the other schools swim teams in the district. Time was of the essence, the team needed to prepare for the biggest swim meet of the season. District finals. This was where people were discovered by Olympic scouts and other various talent scouts.
Just then, Coach Moses walked out of the wings and into the pool area, where the guys were.
“Alright team,” he said, looking at all the boys sitting on a bench. “In one weeks time, we have the biggest swim meet of your young lives. In years past, there have been swimmers who have gone to the Olympics because of this very swim meet. Remember Michael Phelps? This is where he was discovered. That’s right, the Michael Phelps. And guess who was his swim coach? Me. And now I’m your swim coach.”
“Seems like a downgrade,” Luke whispered.
“This is what I’ve been preparing you for. This is what you’ve been training for. Now get in the pool, let’s warm up.”
Swim time was now. It was the time for swim practice and Jesύs was present. And his apostles i mean uhhhhh pals yeah pals were there too. All wearing swim stuff like goggles. And they were swimming. In the pool there was a shark! Oh krust! Pete stabbed Luke with a VCR which was sharpened into a round krust. Yum. Coach Moses yelled “stop krusting around! Everyone start doing the swim. If you don’t, I’ll kill everyone and the shark.” “Oh don’t yell you krusty fuck,” said Shark, who was eating bits of Luke. Luke was complaining about Dumbledore and Moby Dick. He was not alive all of the time. Jesύs wasn’t worried because Luke wasn’t nice. He was a krusting fool. Coach Momo killed Steve because Steve wasn’t cool.
JK The team jumped in the pool and started swimming warm up laps. Jesύs was focused. He was going to swim the freestyle for the 200m medley relay, which was by far his best stroke. He was both nervous and excited, but he took that energy and focused in into his warm up.
After, Coach Moses had the team practice their events. Jesύs found Andrew, Philip, and Luke, the other three members of the relay. Andrew was first with the backstroke. He started in the water and flew across the pool. The backstroke was his speciality. Once Andrew hit the wall, Philip jumped in and swam the breaststroke. Next was Luke, swimming the butterfly. It was the hardest stroke, but of all the members of the team, Luke was the best at it. He held the school record for the fastest 50m butterfly. Once he finished, it was Jesύs’s turn.
Jesύs dove into the water gracefully and set off across the pool. He loved swimming freestyle. He could feel the water moving around him as he powered through the pool. By the time he hit the wall he was out of breath. He felt like he just swam a mile.
He pulled his goggles off and saw his teammates staring at him in awe. Coach Moses was celebrating.
“Kid, that was the fastest I’ve ever seen you swim! If you can do that at this meet, you four will take gold for sure!”
Jesύs climbed out of the pool and saw his team’s final time. He couldn’t believe it, but he knew it was real. They really had a shot at winning this thing.
“Michael Phelps better watch out,” said Coach Moses. “Jesύs Christ is coming through!”
Jesύs got home from practice, still full of excitement from his record time. He found Kendall in the kitchen, getting the bacon and the water chestnuts ready.
“You already know what’s about to happen,” said Kendall, bacon in one hand, water chestnuts in the other, and a smirk on his face.
Jesύs scrunched up his face and said, “Ew. Why did you say it like that?”
“Like what? Alright JC, pass me those toothpicks and lets go to work!”
The brothers worked side by side for about an hour, talking about Jesύs’s swim practice and school, while making the best damn bacon wrapped water chestnuts Detroit had ever seen. They were marvelous. Glazed with honey and caramelized sugar, with a hint of cayenne pepper and cinnamon. Kendall knew these hor ‘devours would rock Jason’s world.
As Jesύs texted Mags and Pete, Kendall ran upstairs to change into his party attire; a striped polo and khaki pants. He went back downstairs, pulled the ice tray out of the freezer, and dumped it into the bottom of his blue Jansport backpack. He then piled cans of Diet Pepsi on the ice and slid the tray of glistening bacon wrapped water chestnuts on top.
Kendall zipped his backpack closed and slung it onto his back. He said, “Alright, I’m off!”
“Wait,” said Jesύs. “The party doesn’t start for another few hours.”
“Well I gotta walk,” said Kendall.
“You can use my bike,” said Jesύs.
“Nah, I don’t know the lock combination,” said Kendall.
“I can tell you what it is.”
“Don’t even bother JC. I’ll forget it by the time I walk out the door. I’m meeting Lucius Malfoy,” said Kendall.
“Who?”
“My friend from the police cadet program,” said Kendall. “He wants to be a police officer too! Alright, see you later!”
“Text me when you get there,” said Jesύs. “And call me if you need me!”
“Yeah, yeah JC. This ain’t my first rodeo,” said Kendall, halfway out the door. Soon he was full out the door, on his way to his second rodeo.
Soon after Kendall left, Jesύs heard a knock at the door. It was………….. Dumbledore! Jk it was……………. Mags and Pete!
(AN: You ready for your movie date Jesύs?
Jesύs: *blushing* it’s not a date!
AN: Suuuuure ;) )
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Devin strolled into the party at around eleven at night. The house was boppin and Tik Tok by Ke$ha was making the ground vibrate. Red solo cups littered the yard and hooligans were smoking something funky out on the porch. He adjusted his blue Jansport backpack as he entered the house and pushed through the crowd of drunk high schoolers. As Devin passed the beer pong table, his heart was pounding and his palms were sweating. He didn’t want to be here, but he had to be, because if he messed this up, that would be bad. Real bad. The baddest of bads. Ironically, Bad, by Michael Jackson came on next.
Meanwhile, Kendall was having a good ole time. He had taken off his backpack long ago and left it somewhere in the living room so he could dance with the hottest girl in school, Nicole. Nicole was a solid 11/10, with her billowing black hair and bangin bod. Kendall’s polo had come untucked a long time ago as him and Nicole rocked out on the dance floor. After Bad, WTF came on and the school’s dance battle team, the Rhythm Fusions, came out and did a hot af routine, the crowd going wild.
Devin took his backpack off and tried to find his burner phone in it. But then he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around and saw the hottest girl he’d ever seen.
“Hey cutie, wanna dance?” she asked, flipping her blonde hair. Devin didn’t know what to say, but he quickly zipped his backpack closed. She grabbed his collar and pulled him to the dance floor. Devin panicked as the backpack slipped out of sight.
As the night went on, Kendall slipped further and further into the chaos of the party. At some point, someone gave him a mysterious pill which made him see colors he’s never seen before. He found himself in the kitchen, playing beer pong with Nicole and two other people he didn’t know. One of them was a really hot blonde girl and the other was a slightly panicked looking, sweaty black dude wearing mostly black. Those two were winning, which meant Kendall was getting waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasteeed.
As Devin scored another point in beer pong, he saw a group of men come into the house. They were not high schoolers. Devin broke away from the beer pong table and ran into the living room, looking around frantically for his backpack. He saw it, leaning against the wall. He grabbed it and slung it onto his back as he ran for the back door. The men who were not high schoolers saw him and ran after him. But there was a bunch of water dripping out of the bottom of Devin’s backpack onto the hardwood floor, which the men slipped and fell in. This gave Devin the opportunity to run outside and hop the backyard fence, outrunning the men.
Meanwhile, Kendall was nearly blacked out on the couch. After the men ran through, many people decided to call it a night, afraid the cops would show up. Lucius found Kendall looking rough.
“Come on man, let’s get you home,” said Lucius.
“Lucius, I can see your words…” said Kendall.
“Get up dude, let’s go home,” said Lucius.
“Wait, where’s my backpack?” asked Kendall as Lucious pulled him off the couch. Kendall saw his backpack leaning up against a couch and he grabbed it before him and Lucius left the house.
Meanwhile, Devin was running as fast as he could. He didn’t know if those guys were still behind him, but he didn’t want to turn around to check. He finally made it to his girlfriend's building, taking the stairs two at a time to get to her apartment. When he got inside, he closed the door and locked it.
“Devin, is that you?” a woman’s voice sounded from around the corner. It was…….. Emma! His lovely girlfriend. She was wearing a black slim evening gown, her diamond earrings peeking through her black hair, which was cascading down her shoulders. “Did you find Rob?”
“No he wasn’t at the party. But Gerald’s men where. I had to get out of there fast.”
“So you brought it back here? What were you thinking? Also why is all that water coming out of the backpack?”
“Water? I thought someone spilled a drink on it,” he said, pulling the backpack off and looking at the puddle on the ground behind him. Water was dripping from the bottom of the backpack and he noticed that his back was completely soaked. “What the hell?”
He put the backpack on the ground and opened it up, revealing a tray of the most beautiful bacon wrapped water chestnuts Devin has ever seen. Under that tray was a mess of melting ice and Diet Pepsi cans. Just then, there was loud banging on the door.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jesύs, Mags, and Pete were cuddled up under a pile of cozy blankets on the couch. Johnny “that’s my son” from Sing was singing I’m Still Standing on the screen. It was lit. Far more lit than the party. Jesύs’s phone dinged and he looked at it. It was a text from Kendall which said, “Im coing homw”
A second text said, “with thei hourhsuecvrds”
Jesύs knew what he meant. Within minutes, Kendall walked through the door.
“Hey guys! That party was lit!” said Kendall, totally sober. “You guys missed out, but you look so cozy so it’s okay.”
“We are,” said Mags. “Are you still drunk?”
“Nope! Had a bottle of water on the way home. Anyway, I totally forgot to put out the hor’ dourves and the Diet Pepsi so I guess you guys can have it.”
Kendall unzipped the backpack and dumped it onto the blankets which were over the three teen’s laps. Several plastic wrapped bricks of white powder fell out onto their laps, followed by a small flip phone. Jesύs, Pete, and Mags looked down at this mess with wide, horrified eyes.
“What the hell did you do at that party, kill someone? This is cocaine!” said Mags.
“You don’t know anything, that’s not cocaine,” said Pete.
Mags pulled out a pocket knife and slit open one of the bricks. The power spilled out a little bit. She dipped her pinky into it and tasted it.
“Yep, this is cocaine alright,” said Mags.
“We need to get rid of it!” said Jesύs. “Mom’s gonna kill us!”
Just then, the flip phone started ringing. Everyone looked at each other. Kendall picked up the phone and answered it.
“Hello?” he said.
“Is this Devin?” a rough voice asked through the phone.
“No, this is Kendall,” said Kendall. Jesύs looked at him in horror.
“What are you doing?” Mags whisper-shouted. Pete and Jesύs gently put the cocaine bricks on the ground and extracted themselves from the nest of blankets.
“Who the hell is Kendall? What happened to Devin?” asked the man on the phone.
“I’m Kendall, it’s me. I don’t know any Devins,” said Kendall.
“Kendall, hang up right now,” said Jesύs.
Kendall held up a finger as he listened to what the man on the phone had to say.
“Meet us at the abandoned parking garage at fifth and Krust. Tomorrow at 11:52 PM. Sharp. Bring the backpack with you if you know what’s good for you,” said the man.
“Alright, sounds good. And may I ask who I’m speaking to?” asked Kendall.
Mags, Pete, and Jesύs looked at each other with panic.
“The name is Luci,” said the man.
“You don’t sound like a Lucy,” said Kendall. But the man on the phone hung up.
“What did he say?” Jesύs asked in a panic.
“He wants me to meet him to give him the backpack. Or else!”
“Or else?”
“Or else!”
“Or else what?” asked Mags.
“I don’t know, he didn’t say. But he sounded serious,” said Kendall.
Pete closed his eyes and sighed. “We’re gonna die,” he said.
“We’re not gonna die,” said Mags, taking his hand. “But we might get arrested.”
“We’re not gonna die or get arrested guys,” said Jesύs. “We’ll just take the coke to them and get all of this over with. We’ll explain that it was all just a big misunderstanding.”
“Jesύs, this is a lot of cocaine,” said Pete. “They’re not just gonna let us go. People get shot for way less coke than this.”
“Okay...okay, okay…...okay…” Jesύs began pacing and running his hands through his hair. “Okay, I have an idea. We’ll get there an hour before the meeting and leave the backpack there-”
“That’s so dumb!” said Mags. “There’s probably gonna be people in that garage waiting for us to do something stupid. Like that!”
“Well, I don’t know!” Jesύs said, throwing his hands in the air. Like he just don't care. But he did care. Very much. He didn’t want to get shot. He didn’t want anyone to get shot! “I think if we go in there and just apologize for the misunderstanding, they’ll understand. There’s good in everyone, right?”
“Even gang members?” asked Pete.
“Even gang members!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next evening came around and the four teens gathered at God’s skyscraper, since Jesύs was staying there for the weekend and because it was close to the parking garage they were headed to.
“Alright, first of all, do we have the backpack?” asked Jesύs.
“Yeah, I got it right here,” said Kendall, turning to show the backpack on his back.
“Ok then, let’s go I guess,” said Jesύs.
The four teens grabbed their skateboards and rode off to the abandoned parking garage. It was nearing the time they were to meet Luci, and the air was thicccc with anticipation. When they arrived, it was already 11:45, and gang members were scattered throughout the place. All of them were dressed in all black and they all wore gold chain necklaces with an upside down cross. Jesύs looked down at his cross shaped birthmark on the inside of his right wrist and prayed there was no connection.
By the time they reached the meeting location, it was 11:52.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As the teens were coming up the stairs of the parking garage, Lucifer was in her personal bathroom, getting ready. The song MmmBop was playing on the little stereo on the counter and Luci was singing along, using her hairdryer as a microphone. She applied her mascara and finished blow drying her hair out. She took one last look in the mirror. Her platinum blonde hair was in a slick bob and her dark makeup was on fleek. She pulled the black suit jacket from the door hook and twirled it around, letting it slide down her arms, pulling it onto her and fastening the button. The last thing she put on was her upside down cross necklace, which matched the other gang members but it was diamond encrusted. She was a classy bitch.
The song Get The Party Started, by P!nk, started playing on the stereo and she turned it all the way up, letting it blast through the parking garage. Lucifer looked at her Breguet Marie-Antoinette Grande Complication pocket watch showing that it was 11:47 exactly. Time to go.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Get The Party Started began blasting through the parking garage as the four teens reached the top floor. Gang members lined the perimeter, all holding guns and wearing sunglasses. Fog rolled across the floor and the music got louder. Through the fog came three more gang members, one of which was holding the boombox from which the music was coming from. Behind them, a tall woman in black heels, sharp black suit, and slick platinum blonde hair strutted through. Her sunglasses were clearly Dolce and Gabbana, and her black leather gloves were Gucci.
The woman stopped about ten feet from the teens and pulled her gloves off, one finger at a time. Then she whipped off her sunglasses. Her eyes were blood red.
“Did you bring my stuff?” she asked.
“Yeah, we brought the backpack, just like Lucy said,” Kendall said.
“Slide it over then,” said the woman.
“You sound a lot different over the phone,” said Kendall.
“Just put the bag down!” said Jesύs.
“My name is Luci, but it wasn’t me you spoke to on the phone,” the woman said.
“We are all Lucifer,” said the gang member holding the boombox beside her.
“That doesn’t make any sense,” said Kendall.
“I’m really sorry about all of this,” said Jesύs. “We didn’t mean to take this backpack. We just want to return it and go on our way.”
Jesύs took the backpack from Kendall and slid it across the floor to Lucifer. She stopped it with her red bottomed Christian Louboutin stilettos and lifted it up. Her brow furrowed as she shook the bag.
“What the hell?” she opened the bag and looked inside. It was empty!
“What the hell?” said Pete. “Kendall, where’s the coke?”
“They asked for the backpack!” said Kendall.
“With the coke inside!” said Mags.
Amidst the confusion and the raising of a hundred guns, another gang appeared from the fog. It was…………….Dumbledore! Jk they didn’t know who this guy was. He was wearing a suit that was almost as slick as Lucifer’s. There was one huge scar running diagonally across his entire face.
Lucifer turned around and said, “Gerald? How did you get in here?”
“You left the back entrance unguarded,” said Gerald.
“Well get out! I was just about to kill these kids!” said Lucifer.
“I don’t think anyone has to die over this,” said Jesύs, raising his hands and looking around at all the guns pointed at him.
“Shut up!” both gang leaders shouted simultaneously.
“I want my coke,” said Gerald. “Now where is it!”
“Your coke? You thought!” said Lucifer, crossing the floor and walking towards Gerald.
“It was my guys who brought the coke to Detroit!” Gerald said, heading towards Lucifer.
When the two were face to face, right next to the teens, Lucifer said, “Well it was my guys who got it over the border!”
Gerald looked down at the backpack Lucifer was holding.
“What’s that for?” he asked.
“It was for the coke, until these fucking kids stole it.”
“It’s all a big misunderstanding,” said Jesύs.
“Who are you?” Gerald snapped, getting in Jesύs’s face.
“We’re just a couple high school students. We didn’t mean to take anyone’s coke! My brother knows where it is. If you’ll let us go we can go get it and bring it back to you.”
“Do you really think I’m going to let you run off with my coke again?!” Lucifer yelled. She glanced sideways at Pete then grabbed him by the arm, swinging him around in front of her and planting her 42 karat gold custom desert eagle pistol with the shell grip engraved with religious characters to his temple.
“Pete!” said Mags.
“I’ll let you three go,” said Lucifer, walking backwards and dragging Pete with her. “But if you ever want to see your friend again, you’ll do the smart thing and bring me the coke.”
“I don’t think so!” said Gerald, grabbing Mags and placing his gun to her temple. “You two better bring the coke to me!”
“You don’t have to do this!” said Jesύs, looking back and forth between the two gang leaders. “We don’t want your coke, I swear!”
“Meet us here tomorrow, 11 am sharp,” said Luci. “That way all the cops will be in church and out of our hair. And you better bring the fucking coke. And the phone!”
Jesύs, seeing no other option, said, “Okay, okay, we’ll go. Please, just don’t hurt our friends!”
“As long as I get what I want you’ll get what you want,” said Gerald.
Kendall stepped forward and faced Lucifer. “Can I have my backpack back? We’re going to need something to carry all that coke in.”
Lucifer glared at him then held the backpack out. Slowly, he stepped forward to grab it, but at the last second, Kendall tried to knock Lucifer’s gun out of the way and grabbed Pete’s arm.
“Oh no you don’t,” Lucifer said. She turned the gun towards Kendall and shot!
But before the bullet could hit, Jesύs felt time slow down. He could see the bullet leaving the gun, the horrified look on Kendall’s face, and the determined look on Lucifer’s. He couldn’t let this happen. Not to his brother.
Time sped up as Jesύs pushed Kendall out of the way, feeling the bullet strike right below his ribcage. Jesύs fell to the ground, bleeding.
Kendall swooped in and cradled his brother. “What was that for?”
“Take that as a warning!” said Lucifer. “Now get out of here, and don’t come back without my coke! And don’t you dare call the cops! I see one cop and your friend is dead!” She threw the backpack down at her feet.
Kendall picked Jesύs up and laid him across two of the skateboards. He put the backpack on then began to pull Jesύs out of the parking garage.
“Don’t worry!” said Kendall to Pete and Mags, pulling his unconscious brother. “We’ll be back!”
Jesύs’s dad’s apartment building was luckily really close to the parking garage. Kendall pulled Jesύs all the way to God’s apartment building and up the stairs to the penthouse, since the elevators were out. When they got to the top, God opened the door.
“What have we here?” God said in a voice that sounded suspiciously like Morgan Freeman. The lighting streaming into the hall from the apartment made God’s face hard to see, as if the camera was blowing out the shot.
“Jesύs got shot!” said Kendall.
“Bring him in,” said God, helping Kendall get Jesύs onto a white couch. The camera focused all of a sudden and God was revealed to also look suspiciously like Morgan Freeman. Jesύs was bleeding all over the white couch, staining it red. God placed a hand on His son’s shoulder and suddenly, all the blood which was spreading across the white couch began slowly moving back into the wound.
Jesύs’s eyes snapped open and his hand went immediately to the gunshot wound. But he soon discovered, it was gone. He sat up and lifted his shirt, only to find smooth, unwounded skin and no blood.
“What?” said Kendall, surprised.
“What’s going on?” said Jesύs, looking a Kendall. “How did I get here?”
“I pulled you on the skateboards,” said Kendall. “You know, after you got shot.”
“Are you alright son?” God asked.
“Dad! What happened to me?” asked Jesύs. “I definitely got shot.”
“Son, there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you,” said God. “I am God.”
“But, Mr. God……. isn’t that like, your name?” said Kendall.
“Yes, but I am so much more. I created you,” said God.
“Not me! My dad is Joseph, ya know, the guy who married your ex-wife?” said Kendall.
“No, not like that. I created everything,” said God. “You know how there are religions? And sometimes there’s a person in those religions who created everything and people worship? That’s me. And no, I don’t just have a big ego, I really am the one who created everything. Come, follow me.”
God led the boys through His penthouse to a pure white door at the end of a hallway. God opened the door to reveal a neverending void of stars and galaxies and other various things. Light swirled around inside. Jesύs tried to see the walls, but it looked like there wasn’t any.
“This is the entire universe,” said God.
“But how are we out here…” Kendall began, but God shushed him.
“Don’t think about it too much,” said God, closing the door. “Now son, as the Son of God, you bear a great responsibility to this universe.”
“Are there other universes?” Jesύs asked.
“I’ll explain later, once your friends are safe,” said God. “Jesύs, you were put on this earth to die for humanity.”
“That’s stupid!” Kendall exclaimed.
“Kendall, can you please give me a moment with my son?” said God. Kendall rolled his eyes and sulked away, pulling his phone out to play Hogwarts Mystery. God turned back to Jesύs. “Son, you will die for humanities sins. Everyone on this earth is born with original sin. By sacrificing yourself, everyone will be given the opportunity to enter my domain- Heaven.”
God raised His hand, gesturing to where heaven would be: up.
“But why?” Jesύs asked. “Why do I have to do that?”
“You, like me, are powerful. More powerful than most people could imagine. You can walk on water and heal people and even bring the occasional person back from the dead! Being the Son of God is a gift.”
“But why didn’t you tell me until now?”
“This is a great burden for someone so young to carry. I wanted you to grow up normal, to be a kid. But it seems the time has come for you to grow to your full potential with your powers. You have friends to rescue, after all.”
“How did you know that?!”
“I’m God, aren’t I?” God chuckled. “There’s one more thing you should know before you go. Soon, there will come a time when even your Godly powers won’t be enough to save you. You will be have to then choose someone to assist you in spreading the Word of God.”
“Who? When?”
“You will know when you know. Now go!”
Jesύs nodded and ran down the hall back to the living room, where he found Kendall sitting on the same white couch Jesύs had laid unconscious on only minutes before.
“How’s your dad?” Kendall asked, looking up from his phone and his Hogwarts Mystery game.
“He’s good. Kendall, we need to go. We have friends to rescue.”
To the song Love is a Battlefield, Jesύs and Kendall rode home on their skateboards and began preparing for the next day. They knew this wouldn’t be easy. Rescuing two friends from opposing gangs, sneaking out of the house with a ton of cocaine, Jesύs and Kendall had a full day ahead of them! But first, it was bedtime.
Except Jesύs couldn’t sleep at all. He kept tossing and turning, thinking about Pete and Mags. He looked at his bedside clock. It read 9:36. It was going to be a long night.
Jesύs ended up not sleeping at all. At 9 in the morning, he threw his covers off and went to Kendall’s room. Jesύs could hear his brother snoring through the door. He knocked and said, “Kendall, wake up.”
“Huh… JC that you?” Kendall slurred.
“Yes. Let’s get the coke and head out,” said Jesύs. “I can’t wait any longer.”
“Kay, lemme get dressed,” said Kendall. Jesύs waited outside Kendall’s room until he came out, dressed, arms full of cocaine.
“Where’s the phone?” asked Jesύs.
“It’s on my desk but you’re gonna have to grab it,” said Kendall. “My hands are full!”
“Where’s the backpack?”
“Oh. Right. Let me grab that.”
Jesύs grabbed the burner phone off the desk as Kendall loaded up the backpack with cocaine. When the teens got downstairs, they saw María in the kitchen. The smell of coffee wafted straight up their noses.
“Aw heck! Mom’s in there,” said Jesύs. “Okay, I’ll go distract her while you sneak out the front door.”
“Wait what about breakfast?” asked Kendall. “It’s the most important meal of the day!”
“I’ll grab you some toast while distracting mom,” said Jesύs.
“Aw thanks bro!” said Kendall.
“What are you boys whispering about?” asked María. “Is there any hot gossip I should know about?”
“Oh hey mom!” Jesύs startled and moved in front of Kendall. María was coming out of the kitchen and Jesύs ran to the kitchen and hugged her, turning her around to face the other way just in time. “No gossip.”
“Darn, I was hoping to hear that you finally started dating Pete and Mary,” said María.
“What? Mom, the three of us are just friends,” Jesύs said as he put a piece of bread in the toaster. Over María’s shoulder, he saw Kendall sneak out the front door.
“Whatever you say,” she said as she sipped her coffee.
“Anyway, we’re gonna head out,” said Jesύs, buttering the toast and moving out of the kitchen.
“Where are you guys going?” asked María.
Jesύs felt his blood run cold. He couldn’t lie to his mom. He hated lying. He found it… displeasing.
“We’re… going to go grab Pete and Mags,” said Jesύs.
“What are you guys up to?” she asked.
“Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh oh ya know… we’re just uhhhh skateboarding and stuff. And getting Pete and Mags. Yeah,” said Jesύs, sweating profusely.
“Okay, well be home before dinner,” said María. “And let me know if Pete and Mary are coming over so I can make enough food.”
“Okay mom bye,” said Jesύs, already closing the door behind him.
Kendall was waiting for him outside with the four skateboards and the coke-filled backpack.
“We’re bringing their skateboards?” asked Jesύs. “Won’t those get in the way?”
“Well, I was thinking we could tie them to our feet like rollerblades,” said Kendall. He pulled some rope out of his backpack and bent down, tying his feet to two skateboards. He was struggling though, because the skateboards were slipping and sliding while he was trying to tie the rope.
“I don’t think that’s necessary,” said Jesύs. “Maybe we can just carry them. We should probably get going though.”
“You’re right, this is so hard,” said Kendall, out of breath and struggling to unwrap his feet from the skateboards. Jesύs knelt down and untied the rope, Kendall stuffing it back into his backpack. Then the two of them were off, skating down the street into the city.
Devin cracked his eyes open and was welcomed with a splitting headache. When his vision finally cleared up, he saw sunlight streaming in through a big window, illuminating two people spooning each other on the couch in the middle of the room. Slowly, he turned his head and saw Emma sitting next to him, still unconscious. Both he and Emma were handcuffed to the radiator. There was a guard sitting in an armchair near the door, cradling his gun. Devin noticed the guard was wearing the upside down cross necklace of the Hellhounds. He silently swore under his breath. This was worse than he thought.
With a glance around the room, the only ways out that Devin could see was the door at the back of the room and the window. The room had dark wood panelled walls and thick red carpet. An unlit fireplace was on the wall across from the couch and on the floor in front of it was an enormous bearskin rug. Devin knew Lucifer had once killed a bear with her own two hands while in Russia then handcrafted in into a monsterous rug. This must be that bear. Bookshelves and expensive looking paintings lined the walls.
Leeeeeet’s get it started in here…….
The first notes of Let’s Get it Started by the Black Eyed Peas began playing. Devin looked around, confused.
And the bass keep Runnin’ runnin, and runnin runnin, and runnin runnin…
The door opened and Lucifer came into the room in slow motion. Her white suit was impeccable as always and her platinum blonde hair whipped around her face in a slow motion arch. Behind her, Gerald came in, his black suit not as fantastic as Lucifer’s. Devin pretended to still be unconscious. Through his slightly cracked open eyelids, Devin saw Lucifer look at the sleeping guard, scowl, then pull out her gun. Without hesitating, she shot him in the leg and he fell to the ground, screaming. The two people spooning on the couch sat up, startled.
In this context, there's no disrespect, so When I bust my rhyme, you break your necks We got five minutes for us to disconnect From all intellect collect the rhythm effect...
“What did I tell you about sleeping on the job, Carl?” Lucifer said.
Carl didn’t respond. He sat on the ground, holding his leg.
She looked at the people on the couch. “Ah, you’re awake.”
They said nothing, just stared at her wide eyed.
“Get up. It’s time to go meet your friends.”
The two teens stood up, holding hands. Gerald grabbed the girl by the arm and ripped her from the boy. Luci grabbed the boy.
“What about them?” asked Gerald, nodding his head towards Devin and Emma.
“Leave them. We’ll deal with them later,” said Lucifer.
“And Carl?”
“What about him? It’s not like he’s going anywhere.”
Obstacles are inefficient, follow your intuition Free your inner soul and break away from tradition Coz when we beat out, girl it's pullin' without You wouldn't believe how we wow shit out Burn it till it's burned out Turn it till it's turned out Act up from north, west, east, south...
Lucifer and Gerald hauled the teens out of the room, the door banging closed behind them. Devin waited a moment to make sure they weren’t coming back, then turned to his girlfriend.
“Emma? Emma wake up,” Devin said, lightly shaking her shoulder with his free hand. No response.
“She won’t wake up,” said Carl. He wasn’t screaming anymore, just laying on the ground holding his leg. “She got hit pretty hard.”
Devin looked up at Carl. “Help me get out of here.”
Mags was getting pretty sick of having a gun pointed at her head.
Gerald’s grip on her arm was annoying. She knew that she could easily get away from Gerald and take him down, but she didn’t know if Pete would be able to do the same with Lucifer, and she didn’t want him getting hurt because of her. She had grown up taking self-defense classes. As a young girl in Detroit with a paranoid police officer mother, one could never be too careful. Over the years, Mags had become an expert in most forms of martial arts.
Just by looking at Gerald, Mags could tell he would stand no chance against her. He was taller than Mags, but not by much. He looked physically strong, but even so, Mags knew how to use someone else’s weight against them, no problem. He was probably in his late 30s, early 40s. He had straight, black hair and a sweaty mustache. His scar was glistening with sweat. It ran across his entire face, jagged and a shade lighter than his light brown skin.
Luci and Gerald led them to the garage. Luci shoved Pete into the backseat of the fanciest car Mags had ever seen. It wasn’t just a Lambo, it was an iridescent Lambo with gold piping and blue ground lights. The license plate read EVL 666. The doors opened upward, and one of Luci’s guys got in the back with Pete. Mags watched helplessly as they shoved a black bag over his head.
Gerald’s car was fancy, but not as much. It was a black luxury Cadillac with silver trim and suicide doors. A second black bag was shoved onto Mags’s head after she was pushed into the backseat. The engine started running and Let’s Get it Started was still playing.
Everybody, everybody, let's get into it Get stupid Get it started, get it started, get it started Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here Yeah
Mags could only hope that Jesύs and Kendall had a plan.
Kendall and Jesύs skateboarded through Wayne State’s campus, dodging groggy students walking to their early morning classes. Kendall couldn’t really remember how to get to the parking garage, but Jesύs seemed to know what he was doing. Jesύs seemed odd today. Kendall wouldn’t describe him as mad, Jesύs never got mad. He just seemed annoyed. Kendall hoped he wasn’t annoyed with him.
They rounded a corner on Cass and found themselves skateboarding through a terrible looking neighborhood. Kendall spotted the parking garage through the trees. He saw a plastic bag caught in one of the trees alongside the street and he stared at it for a second too long, and he nearly fell off his skateboard.
“Careful!” said Jesύs. “We’re almost there.”
“Yeah I know,” Kendall responded. “Hey, what’s the plan here?”
“Well, we’re going to go in, give them the cocaine, get Mags and Pete, then go home and finish watching Sing.”
“Okay, that’s a good plan and all but…”
“But?”
“But that’s the best case scenario. We are working with gangs here. What if something goes wrong?”
“Okay, what do you suggest then?”
“We should split up, in case something goes wrong. You go in with the cocaine, and I’ll wait outside as backup. I’ll call you and you can put your phone on speaker and I’ll put mine on mute so I can hear what’s up inside but they won’t hear me if I sneeze or something.”
“That’s actually a really good idea. What if you get caught?”
“Well, I didn’t start taking all those self-defense classes with Mags for nothing. I can hold my own. But what if the two gangs can’t agree to share the cocaine? What will you do if they both demand you give them all of it?”
“I’d consider myself pretty diplomatic. I bet we can work something out.”
“I sure hope so.”
“Why would I help you?” said Carl, holding his gunshot wound and holding back tears.
“Well, you’re going to bleed out if no one helps you out. And there isn’t anyone else here to help you out.”
“You have a point,” Carl said, his face beginning to turn a sickly shade of white. “But I can’t. Luci will shoot me if I help you.”
Carl looked down at himself, as if just remembering that she already shot him. A look of resignation crossed his face. He reached into his back pocket and tossed a ring of keys to Devin, who caught them in his free hand.
“It’s the one that’s painted green,” said Carl.
Devin hurried to unlock his own handcuffs and then went to free Emma. As he was taking the handcuffs off of her, her eyes fluttered open.
“What’s going on?” she asked. “Where are we?”
“We’re at Luci’s house,” said Devin. “We need to get out.”
“You shouldn’t have tried to bring the coke to our apartment,” said Emma. “Haven’t you figured these people out by now?”
“I’ve only been working with them for a month- I didn’t know this would happen,” Devin said, running his hands over his head and face. “But Lucifer is crazy, so we need to get out of here as soon as possible.”
“Ya think?” Emma said, hands on her hips.
“I’m sorry Emma,” Devin said. “I’m really, really sorry. I didn’t ever want you getting mixed up in this. When we get out of this place, we’re running away, somewhere far from these gangs.”
Devin looked at Carl, who looked like he was about to pass out. Devin stood up, grabbed a blanket off the couch, and threw it at Carl.
“Use this to mop up the blood.” Devin reached down and grabbed Carl’s pistol, shoving it into the waistband of his pants. He turned to Emma, offering her his hand. “Let’s get out of here.”
She took it and stood up. The couple ran out of the room, leaving behind an unconscious Carl.
“Where are we going?” Emma asked.
“I’m not sure. Out and away, hopefully.”
They turned a corner and saw a member of the Hellhounds walking away from them. Devin and Emma quietly followed him. They watched as he reached the end of the hall and stopped, facing a floor to ceiling painting of a man in a suit and top hat with his back turned to the viewer in a large gold frame. The man slapped the painting’s ass and the painting swung out like a door, revealing a dark stairwell. He walked down the stairs and the painting swung shut behind him.
“Let’s wait a minute then follow,” Devin whispered. “I bet that leads out.”
“Or it leads into Luci’s secret lair,” Emma retorted.
“Nah, it’s Gucci.”
After a short wait, Devin slapped the ass. Emma followed him down the dark staircase.
At the bottom they discovered that they were in a dimly lit, concrete tunnel. They followed the tunnel for a while until they came to a door. The door opened to reveal the lower level of a parking garage. The door was labeled with “Maintenance, Authorized Personnel Only”. The Hellhound was nowhere to be seen.
Devin and Emma began to walk up the drive until they reached ground level. As they started to walk towards the exit, Devin noticed two kids riding in on skateboards. One of them looked oddly familiar to Devin.
“I played beer pong with that kid,” Devin said to Emma.
“What?” she asked.
“Yeah, at that party where my backpack got switched.”
Devin started to walk towards the two kids.
“Hey! Beer pong guy!” said the kid Devin knew. “You were really good at that game!”
“You’re good at beer pong?” asked Emma, a smile on her face.
“You know him?” said the kid Devin didn’t know.
“Hey, man this is my brother, Jesύs,” said the beer pong kid. “And I’m Kendall.”
“I’m Devin, this is Emma. What are you doing here?”
“We have to return some coke I accidentally stole,” said Kendall. “What about you?”
“Holy shit,” said Devin. “Do you know what kind of trouble you’ve caused?”
“Yeah, two of my friends are kidnapped right now,” said Kendall.
“Because you have the coke?” Devin asked.
“Yeah,” said Jesύs. “We just want them back. Honest, we never wanted the coke. Are you with Luci’s gang or Gerald’s gang?”
“Neither. I’m with Lady Carlisle. And Gerald works for Luci.”
“What?” Jesύs exclaimed.
“It’s all one big gang. The Hellhounds. They sometimes pretend to be seperate to mess with people and make more money. It works pretty well.”
“Yeah, they sure got us,” said Kendall.
“Well, we should probably get going,” said Jesύs. “It was nice meeting you guys.”
“Do you guys want backup?” asked Emma, causing Devin to look at her in surprise.
“Oh heck! That’d be Gucci!” said Kendall. “Okay, so here’s the plan.”
After hiding the skateboards, Jesύs and Kendall began their journey into the parking garage. They walked up all the driving ramps until they heard the song Cliffs of Dover by Eric Johnson. It was getting louder as they went, which let them know they were getting closer. They walked until they got to a middle level of the parking garage. This level was filled with men in suits, obviously Luci’s men. And there was Luci, standing at the other side of the garage, on her legs. She was holding onto Pete, her 42 karat gold custom desert eagle pistol with the shell grip engraved with religious characters to his head. Beside her stood Gerald, holding on to Mags, who didn’t look worried at all.
But Jesύs was worried very much. Because everyone in the room besides him and his friends had guns and they all looked like they were ready to start shootin any minute. Jesύs took the backpack off and laid it on the ground.
“Okay, we have your stuff. Can we please have our friends back?” asked Jesύs.
“Open the backpack,” said Luci.
Kendall unzipped the backpack and dumped the cocaine all over the ground. Luci gestured to one of her men and he stepped forward and collected the cocaine.
“It’s all here,” he said.
“Now, can you please let go of our friends?” Jesύs asked.
“Not yet,” said Luci.
“What? Why not?”
“Now that you have proven to be efficient drug mules, given the proper motivation, of course, I have another job for you two.”
“No way!” said Kendall! “You have your coke now give us our friends! That was the deal!”
“That was the deal,” said Luci sassily. “But, seeing as I have the upper hand, I think I’m going to change the deal. You all know where the Walmart is? Behind the store, I have a few guys who will meet you at 1:30. Get the package and bring it back here to me. Then we’ll discuss your friends’ freedom.”
“Krust you!” Kendall yelled. “We would never work for you!”
“You must not care too much for your friends then…” Luci said while cocking her gun.
“Wait, wait, wait!” Jesύs held out his hands. “Luci, please! We’re just a couple of high school kids! We don’t know anything about… drugging.”
“How cuuuuute,” said Luci. “Then why don’t I teach you a thing or two.”
Luci moved her 42 karat gold custom desert eagle pistol with the shell grip engraved with religious characters from its place at Pete’s temple and pointed it at Jesύs. However, before she got the chance to pull the trigger, a gunshot rang out from the rafters, a bullet hitting Luci in the shoulder. She gasped and let go of Pete, who ran over to Jesύs and Kendall. Jesús caught him in a hug. It was……….Dumbledore!! JK it was Devin! And he leapt out of the rafters and landed dramatically in a superhero landing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“You double crossing son of a bitch!” Luci screamed. She pointed her 42 karat gold custom desert eagle pistol with the shell grip engraved with religious characters at Jesύs and pulled the trigger. The song Mmm Whatcha Say started playing. The gunshot was loud and also in slow motion. Jesύs could do nothing but stand frozen in shock.
Kendall however, lept into action. He saw the bullet moving towards his brother in slow motion. Time sped up again as Kendall jumped in front of the bullet. “He felt it rip through his flesh, hitting somewhere just below his heart. He collapsed onto the floor, pain tearing through his body” (Headley, 2015). He heard many things at once: the commotion of everyone in the garage leaping into action, gunshots all around him, and Jesύs screaming. But then he stopped hearing and the pain went away.
Luci held her injured shoulder. The kickback from her shot brought her to her knees. She watched as that one kid, Kendall fell down, the bullet hitting him in the ribs. He lay there for a moment, making Luci think she got him for good. Jesύs knelt over him, willing his godly powers to do something to save his brother. Boom Boom Pow by the Black Eyed Peas started playing. Then, Kendall did something that made everyone in the garage stop and stare. He stood up, white light spilling out of his bullet hole. The bullet hole closed up before everyone’s eyes. Kendall reached up to the top of his head and grabbed a zipper that no one had seen until now. He began to unzip himself down the front, revealing another person underneath. He unzipped himself down to his feet, revealing a glowing humanoid form who rose into the air. The glowing form spun around, flower pedals and sparkles creating a fluttering vortex around him. A swarm of ethereal butterflies made of white light burst forth from the glowing body, creating a cloud around him. The cloud of light butterflies became thicker until Luci could no longer see the glowing body. Then the cloud of writhing light burst out into a magnificent firework. The form landed on the ground in a dramatic superhero landing, no longer glowing. And since he was no longer glowing, everyone could see that it was no longer Kendall. It was……………..Pope Francis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Luci gasped. This was the last person she was expecting to show up, much less to appear out of some gangly ass teenager!
“What the fucking krust?” Luci said. “Francis what are you doing here? And how did you get inside that gangly ass teenager?”
“The Power of God, my child,” said the Pope.
“Don’t call me your child you dingy washed up old Bible fucker! Get the hell out of my garage!”
Luci raised her 42 karat gold custom desert eagle pistol with the shell grip engraved with religious characters at the Pope. She started to shoot at him, but the bullets just ricocheted off of him. He walked towards Luci, who was still kneeling on the ground. He placed his hands above her head.
“Be still my child,” said Pope Francis.
“Is he blessing her?” Pete whispered to Jesύs.
Nope. He sure wasn’t. Quick and without remorse, the Pope grabbed Luci’s head and turned it to the side, snapping her neck. She fell to the ground in a heap, the 42 karat gold custom desert eagle pistol with the shell grip engraved with religious characters falling from her hand.
“Oh hell yeah!” Mags yelled. She took that as the cue that the battle had began. She jumped up into the air, still in Gerald’s grasp, and flipped backward over his shoulder, making Gerald fall backward and slam into the concrete. A gang member began to shoot at her, but couldn’t hit. Mags was too good. She ran at him and quickly disarmed him, knocking him out with a swift kick to the jaw.
Once that gang member had shot, everyone else took it as their cue to do the same.
“This is much too violent for my liking,” said Pope Francis, raising his arms. He snapped his fingers and everyone’s guns turned into wooden crosses.
All the gang members stopped in confusion, except Gerald.
“You think this is gonna stop me?!” he shouted, flipping the cross around in his hand and brandishing it like a sword. “Bring it on old man!”
Pope Francis summoned a beam of white light in the shape of a sword into his hand as Gerald ran at him, screaming. Cross clashed with light. Pope Francis swung the light sword at Gerald, who jumped backwards. The Pope took a step forward, swinging at Gerald again. This time, Gerald blocked the blow with his cross, then raised the cross, and swung at the Pope’s head. Pope Francis ducked, causing Gerald to knock the Pope’s stupid Pope Hat off his head.
Emma had come down out of the rafters, cross in hand. Her and Devin were surrounded by several Hellhounds. They were doing their best, but, seeing as they were severely outnumbered, they weren't looking too hot.
“Mags, on the other hand, was doing just fine, even when horribly outnumbered. She fought with a fierce looking Hellhound. And his butt cheeks were taped together! But Mags can do Jiu Jitsu! She body slammed the Hellhound! Legendary fight with a random Hellhound! Normal Tuesday afternoon for the Hellhound! Mags tries to swing an axe at the Hellhound, but blood is draining fast from her stump leg! He’s dodging every swipe, he parries to the left, Mags catches him in the neck, she’s chopping off his head now! Mags just decapitated the Hellhound.
Mags walked away from the bloody scene, a shell of a man. Her head hung low, she knew that she will be sent to detention for this.
But wait! He isn’t dead! Hellhound surprise! There’s a cross in his hand and death in his eyes!” (Father, 2015).
Pope Francis saw Mags fighting the Hellhound and decided to help. He approached and held up his hands. The Hellhound stopped fighting and looked at him, his eyes glazed over. Pope Francis put his hands on the Hellhound’s face and the life left his eyes. The Pope dropped the lifeless dog like he was tossing aside a lifeless dog.
“Thanks Pope,” said Mags, giving him a high five.
All of the Hellhounds died. Now that the battle was won, Pope Francis floated into the air. He was engulfed with white light and then he was Kendall again! Kendall slowly dropped from the air and laid on the ground, asleep.
Jesús ran over to him and shook his shoulder. There was no sign of the bullet wound. Kendall’s eyes fluttered open.
“Dude, what the krust?” he mumbled.
“Kendall! Do you remember anything?” asked Jesús.
“No...but I had a dream that I was in Italy and I was in this really fancy museum with all these paintings of this guy who kinda looked like you…” he said, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
“Dude that’s wild,” said Pete. “You like, totally transformed into Pope Francis and killed everyone in here.”
“You saved us,” said Mags, who knelt down beside him.
“Whoa...That’s crazy,” said Kendall. “Well, what do we do about all these bodies? Should we call the cops?”
“Yeah, we should probably call the cops,” said Jesús.
“I don’t wanna be here when the cops show up,” said Devin. “So we’re gonna split. We’ll keep in touch though.”
“Yeah, hey! Jesús and I have a swim meet tomorrow at the high school,” said Pete. “You guys should come cheer us on!”
“Maybe we will,” said Emma. “Well, I gotta get out of this stupid dress. We’ll catch you guys on the flippity flop.”
“Yeah! It was good to see you guys!” said Kendall. “Catch you later!”
Emma and Devin left while Jesús called the police. The bodies were all taken care of and next thing they knew, it was time for the swim meet!
I Got A Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas started playing as people poured into the school for the swim meet. The smell of chlorine hit their noses as they entered. Parents and friends took seats in the bleachers. Down below, the swim teams from the two schools stood on opposite sides of the pool. Jesús put his swim cap on. Beside him, Pete looked at him with victory in his eyes. He put on his goggles.
Up in the bleachers, Mags, María and Kendall held up a banner with Jesús and Pete’s names on it written in glitter. Two people sat down beside Mags. She looked over at them. It was…………………………..Emma and Devin! They had foam fingers! And buckets of popcorn!
Coach Moses came out of the wings holding a mic.
“Hellooooo Detroit!” he said. The crowd cheered. “Are you guys ready for this swim meet?” The crowd yelled, but it wasn’t loud enough. “I said...ARE YOU GUYS READY???”
The crowd went wild as the beat dropped.
The swimmers climbed onto their blocks and Coach Moses shot the gun into the air, signalling the start of the relay. The swimmers dove into the water and began swimming fast. They were good. Jesús stepped up to the block, ready to dive in next. His relay partner, Luke, hit the wall and Jesús dove.
But instead of breaking the surface of the water, Jesús nearly broke his nose as he hit the water but didn’t go through. The crowd went silent. Pete stared in shock from the diving boards. Jesús stood up on top of the water, still getting over his shock.
“Run!” Pete yelled. “Just run!”
And boy did he run! He ran to the end of the pool and back, touching the wall before all the other swimmers. The crowd was going absolutely nuts. It was record breaking!
Well, anyway, Jesús won that swim meet for his school that day.
Jesús, Kendall, Mags, and Pete climbed into the back of God’s minivan.
“Good job tonight!” God said to Jesús and Pete.
“Thanks dad!” Jesús said.
“Before I take you kids home, I have a mission for you. Now that you’ve proven yourselves against the Hellhounds, it’s time I reveal your true quest,” God explained. “You four must unite all the religions.”
“That’s seems like a lot of work,” said Kendall, from the passenger seat.
“It will be. But it is your duty,” said God. “Now...I must drop you off at your first destination.”
“But we have school tomorrow!” said Jesús.
“School will be there when you get back,” said God. He turned around to face Jesús, who was sitting in the middle in the back seat. He handed a stupid chunky watch to Jesús, who took it and looked it over. The watch was fastened with velcro and the bulk of it was plastic, with a part that flipped open to reveal a number pad. “This device will help you travel on your quest. Just type in some numbers and it’ll take you to the next universe.”
“Wicked!” said Kendall.
“Wow, that’s ugly,” said Mags.
“Oh I didn’t realize you were a fashion expert,” said God. “Anyway, go my son. Good luck my dudes. Mespeed.”
Jesús opened the keypad and typed in some numbers. With each number he typed, a garbled electronic voice said the number. When he pressed the right combination of numbers, the lights flashed on the side of the watch.
“Let’s rock it!” Jesús said. A flash of light and they were gone!
The New New Testament (Ch. 1)
By Father Par Par and Luci.
Warning: This story contains violence, recreational drug use, and swearing.
Jesús Christ was not the most popular boy in school. However, he was one of those guys who the popular people wanted to be friends with, but they couldn’t quite figure him out. You see, Jesús was a real chill guy. He had fluffy, curly black hair which he often kept in a bun or ponytail. He was half black and half mexican, and he was beautiful. But he was humble about it. He was on the swim team, the best woodshop student the school had seen in 2018 years, and always seen at the volunteer events in the community. He was a real average guy, who just happened to be……….. The son of God!
God was the the most successful CEO of the most successful business in America. He lived at the top of the tallest skyscraper in the land. It looked out over Detroit, the best city (AN: and if you haven’t been to Detroit screw you!). Jesús saw his dad on weekends, because every other day, he lived with his mom, María, and his stepfather, Joseph.
“You ready for that math test, JC? Cause I’m not!” oh yeah. And his stepbrother, Kendall. Kendall was about a whole head taller than Jesύs. He had curly blonde hair and a pleasant enough face. He was not on the swim team, and therefore, was not as fit.
“I don’t know, I could’ve studied more… I feel like I’m probably gonna fail,” said Jesύs.
“Well, you better not fail,” said María, her hands on her hips. Maria was a beautiful Mexican woman with brown skin and hair. “And you better get out of here or else you’ll be late for school!”
Jesύs and Kendall grabbed their backpacks and headed out the door, barely making it to the bus on time.
“Do you have swim practice after school?” Kendall asked Jesύs. “Cause I was wondering if you wanted to help me make some hor’ dourves for the party tonight?”
“Yeah I do. And Jason’s party? The quarterback?”
“Oh krust, did you not get an invitation?” asked Kendall.
“Yeah I got an invite, but I’m not going.”
“Why not! It’s gonna be lit!”
“Well, I already planned a movie night with Mags and Pete. We’re watching Sing. You can join us if you want.”
“No, I don’t want to fourth wheel on your date,” said Kendall.
“What? It’s not a date!” “Mhmm, sure JC,” said Kendall, bouncing his eyebrows.
JC rolled his eyes. “Whatever. I’ll help you with the hor’ dourves though.”
The school was boppin with Friday energy as the bus rolled up, top down, I Am the City by ABBA blasting. Kendall and JC hopped out of the bus and split apart, heading to their respective first hours.
As JC walked into his first hour, he saw his two bffs, Peter Saint and Mary “Mags” Magdalene sitting in their usual seats in the back row. Peter was wearing Jesύs’s swim team hoodie and jeans. Pete was tall with brown hair and lots of freckles that Jesύs sometimes got lost counting. Mags was short with dark skin and hair that was braided in an intricate knot atop her head. She was wearing overalls, cuffed at the bottom, with a cute striped sweater underneath. They greeted Jesύs as he walked through the door.
“Greetings Jesύs!” they said in unison. Mags and Pete looked at each other and started laughing.
“Hey guys,” Jesύs said kissing them both on the cheek before sitting down between them. “Is that my hoodie?”
“Yeah, you left it at my house when you two spent the night the other day,” said Pete.
The kid sitting in front of them turned around and grumbled, “Get a room…”
Just then, the teacher walked in. It was…………..Dumbledore!!! As Dumbledore started teaching, Jesύs found a note flutter onto his desk. He opened it and it said in Mags’s handwriting “Did you get invited to Jason’s party tonight? Because we did.”
Jesύs wrote back, “Yeah, but obviously I’m not going. I have better plans ;)”.
Mags blushed and wrote back, “When should we come over?”
“I’ll text you guys. I have swim practice then I have to help Kendall make hor’ dourves.”
Mags read this and looked at Jesύs with confusion. He shrugged and waved it off. The trio spent the rest of the hour listening to Dumbledore moan on about Moby Dick.
After school, Jesύs had swim practice, just like any ole day. The swim team was made up of 13 guys, and Jesύs considered these guys some of his closest friends. Pete was on the swim team, and he was the best diver in the school. Judas was the captain of the swim team, and he was an absolute swimming star. There was also Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew, Jim, Jude, Simon, Matthias, and Paul. Together, they were a force to be reckoned with.
And this force was about to reckon with all the other schools swim teams in the district. Time was of the essence, the team needed to prepare for the biggest swim meet of the season. District finals. This was where people were discovered by Olympic scouts and other various talent scouts.
Just then, Coach Moses walked out of the wings and into the pool area, where the guys were.
“Alright team,” he said, looking at all the boys sitting on a bench. “In one weeks time, we have the biggest swim meet of your young lives. In years past, there have been swimmers who have gone to the Olympics because of this very swim meet. Remember Michael Phelps? This is where he was discovered. That’s right, the Michael Phelps. And guess who was his swim coach? Me. And now I’m your swim coach.”
“Seems like a downgrade,” Luke whispered.
“This is what I’ve been preparing you for. This is what you’ve been training for. Now get in the pool, let’s warm up.”
Swim time was now. It was the time for swim practice and Jesύs was present. And his apostles i mean uhhhhh pals yeah pals were there too. All wearing swim stuff like goggles. And they were swimming. In the pool there was a shark! Oh krust! Pete stabbed Luke with a VCR which was sharpened into a round krust. Yum. Coach Moses yelled “stop krusting around! Everyone start doing the swim. If you don’t, I’ll kill everyone and the shark.” “Oh don’t yell you krusty fuck,” said Shark, who was eating bits of Luke. Luke was complaining about Dumbledore and Moby Dick. He was not alive all of the time. Jesύs wasn’t worried because Luke wasn’t nice. He was a krusting fool. Coach Momo killed Steve because Steve wasn’t cool.
JK The team jumped in the pool and started swimming warm up laps. Jesύs was focused. He was going to swim the freestyle for the 200m medley relay, which was by far his best stroke. He was both nervous and excited, but he took that energy and focused in into his warm up.
After, Coach Moses had the team practice their events. Jesύs found Andrew, Philip, and Luke, the other three members of the relay. Andrew was first with the backstroke. He started in the water and flew across the pool. The backstroke was his speciality. Once Andrew hit the wall, Philip jumped in and swam the breaststroke. Next was Luke, swimming the butterfly. It was the hardest stroke, but of all the members of the team, Luke was the best at it. He held the school record for the fastest 50m butterfly. Once he finished, it was Jesύs’s turn.
Jesύs dove into the water gracefully and set off across the pool. He loved swimming freestyle. He could feel the water moving around him as he powered through the pool. By the time he hit the wall he was out of breath. He felt like he just swam a mile.
He pulled his goggles off and saw his teammates staring at him in awe. Coach Moses was celebrating.
“Kid, that was the fastest I’ve ever seen you swim! If you can do that at this meet, you four will take gold for sure!”
Jesύs climbed out of the pool and saw his team’s final time. He couldn’t believe it, but he knew it was real. They really had a shot at winning this thing.
“Michael Phelps better watch out,” said Coach Moses. “Jesύs Christ is coming through!”
Jesύs got home from practice, still full of excitement from his record time. He found Kendall in the kitchen, getting the bacon and the water chestnuts ready.
“You already know what’s about to happen,” said Kendall, bacon in one hand, water chestnuts in the other, and a smirk on his face.
Jesύs scrunched up his face and said, “Ew. Why did you say it like that?”
“Like what? Alright JC, pass me those toothpicks and lets go to work!”
The brothers worked side by side for about an hour, talking about Jesύs’s swim practice and school, while making the best damn bacon wrapped water chestnuts Detroit had ever seen. They were marvelous. Glazed with honey and caramelized sugar, with a hint of cayenne pepper and cinnamon. Kendall knew these hor ‘devours would rock Jason’s world.
As Jesύs texted Mags and Pete, Kendall ran upstairs to change into his party attire; a striped polo and khaki pants. He went back downstairs, pulled the ice tray out of the freezer, and dumped it into the bottom of his blue Jansport backpack. He then piled cans of Diet Pepsi on the ice and slid the tray of glistening bacon wrapped water chestnuts on top.
Kendall zipped his backpack closed and slung it onto his back. He said, “Alright, I’m off!”
“Wait,” said Jesύs. “The party doesn’t start for another few hours.”
“Well I gotta walk,” said Kendall.
“You can use my bike,” said Jesύs.
“Nah, I don’t know the lock combination,” said Kendall.
“I can tell you what it is.”
“Don’t even bother JC. I’ll forget it by the time I walk out the door. I’m meeting Lucius Malfoy,” said Kendall.
“Who?”
“My friend from the police cadet program,” said Kendall. “He wants to be a police officer too! Alright, see you later!”
“Text me when you get there,” said Jesύs. “And call me if you need me!”
“Yeah, yeah JC. This ain’t my first rodeo,” said Kendall, halfway out the door. Soon he was full out the door, on his way to his second rodeo.
Soon after Kendall left, Jesύs heard a knock at the door. It was………….. Dumbledore! Jk it was……………. Mags and Pete!
(AN: You ready for your movie date Jesύs?
Jesύs: *blushing* it’s not a date!
AN: Suuuuure ;) )
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Devin strolled into the party at around eleven at night. The house was boppin and Tik Tok by Ke$ha was making the ground vibrate. Red solo cups littered the yard and hooligans were smoking something funky out on the porch. He adjusted his blue Jansport backpack as he entered the house and pushed through the crowd of drunk high schoolers. As Devin passed the beer pong table, his heart was pounding and his palms were sweating. He didn’t want to be here, but he had to be, because if he messed this up, that would be bad. Real bad. The baddest of bads. Ironically, Bad, by Michael Jackson came on next.
Meanwhile, Kendall was having a good ole time. He had taken off his backpack long ago and left it somewhere in the living room so he could dance with the hottest girl in school, Nicole. Nicole was a solid 11/10, with her billowing black hair and bangin bod. Kendall’s polo had come untucked a long time ago as him and Nicole rocked out on the dance floor. After Bad, WTF came on and the school’s dance battle team, the Rhythm Fusions, came out and did a hot af routine, the crowd going wild.
Devin took his backpack off and tried to find his burner phone in it. But then he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around and saw the hottest girl he’d ever seen.
“Hey cutie, wanna dance?” she asked, flipping her blonde hair. Devin didn’t know what to say, but he quickly zipped his backpack closed. She grabbed his collar and pulled him to the dance floor. Devin panicked as the backpack slipped out of sight.
As the night went on, Kendall slipped further and further into the chaos of the party. At some point, someone gave him a mysterious pill which made him see colors he’s never seen before. He found himself in the kitchen, playing beer pong with Nicole and two other people he didn’t know. One of them was a really hot blonde girl and the other was a slightly panicked looking, sweaty black dude wearing mostly black. Those two were winning, which meant Kendall was getting waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasteeed.
As Devin scored another point in beer pong, he saw a group of men come into the house. They were not high schoolers. Devin broke away from the beer pong table and ran into the living room, looking around frantically for his backpack. He saw it, leaning against the wall. He grabbed it and slung it onto his back as he ran for the back door. The men who were not high schoolers saw him and ran after him. But there was a bunch of water dripping out of the bottom of Devin’s backpack onto the hardwood floor, which the men slipped and fell in. This gave Devin the opportunity to run outside and hop the backyard fence, outrunning the men.
Meanwhile, Kendall was nearly blacked out on the couch. After the men ran through, many people decided to call it a night, afraid the cops would show up. Lucius found Kendall looking rough.
“Come on man, let’s get you home,” said Lucius.
“Lucius, I can see your words…” said Kendall.
“Get up dude, let’s go home,” said Lucius.
“Wait, where’s my backpack?” asked Kendall as Lucious pulled him off the couch. Kendall saw his backpack leaning up against a couch and he grabbed it before him and Lucius left the house.
Meanwhile, Devin was running as fast as he could. He didn’t know if those guys were still behind him, but he didn’t want to turn around to check. He finally made it to his girlfriend's building, taking the stairs two at a time to get to her apartment. When he got inside, he closed the door and locked it.
“Devin, is that you?” a woman’s voice sounded from around the corner. It was…….. Emma! His lovely girlfriend. She was wearing a black slim evening gown, her diamond earrings peeking through her black hair, which was cascading down her shoulders. “Did you find Rob?”
“No he wasn’t at the party. But Gerald’s men where. I had to get out of there fast.”
“So you brought it back here? What were you thinking? Also why is all that water coming out of the backpack?”
“Water? I thought someone spilled a drink on it,” he said, pulling the backpack off and looking at the puddle on the ground behind him. Water was dripping from the bottom of the backpack and he noticed that his back was completely soaked. “What the hell?”
He put the backpack on the ground and opened it up, revealing a tray of the most beautiful bacon wrapped water chestnuts Devin has ever seen. Under that tray was a mess of melting ice and Diet Pepsi cans. Just then, there was loud banging on the door.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jesύs, Mags, and Pete were cuddled up under a pile of cozy blankets on the couch. Johnny “that’s my son” from Sing was singing I’m Still Standing on the screen. It was lit. Far more lit than the party. Jesύs’s phone dinged and he looked at it. It was a text from Kendall which said, “Im coing homw”
A second text said, “with thei hourhsuecvrds”
Jesύs knew what he meant. Within minutes, Kendall walked through the door.
“Hey guys! That party was lit!” said Kendall, totally sober. “You guys missed out, but you look so cozy so it’s okay.”
“We are,” said Mags. “Are you still drunk?”
“Nope! Had a bottle of water on the way home. Anyway, I totally forgot to put out the hor’ dourves and the Diet Pepsi so I guess you guys can have it.”
Kendall unzipped the backpack and dumped it onto the blankets which were over the three teen’s laps. Several plastic wrapped bricks of white powder fell out onto their laps, followed by a small flip phone. Jesύs, Pete, and Mags looked down at this mess with wide, horrified eyes.
“What the hell did you do at that party, kill someone? This is cocaine!” said Mags.
“You don’t know anything, that’s not cocaine,” said Pete.
Mags pulled out a pocket knife and slit open one of the bricks. The power spilled out a little bit. She dipped her pinky into it and tasted it.
“Yep, this is cocaine alright,” said Mags.
“We need to get rid of it!” said Jesύs. “Mom’s gonna kill us!”
Just then, the flip phone started ringing. Everyone looked at each other. Kendall picked up the phone and answered it.
“Hello?” he said.
“Is this Devin?” a rough voice asked through the phone.
“No, this is Kendall,” said Kendall. Jesύs looked at him in horror.
“What are you doing?” Mags whisper-shouted. Pete and Jesύs gently put the cocaine bricks on the ground and extracted themselves from the nest of blankets.
“Who the hell is Kendall? What happened to Devin?” asked the man on the phone.
“I’m Kendall, it’s me. I don’t know any Devins,” said Kendall.
“Kendall, hang up right now,” said Jesύs.
Kendall held up a finger as he listened to what the man on the phone had to say.
“Meet us at the abandoned parking garage at fifth and Krust. Tomorrow at 11:52 PM. Sharp. Bring the backpack with you if you know what’s good for you,” said the man.
“Alright, sounds good. And may I ask who I’m speaking to?” asked Kendall.
Mags, Pete, and Jesύs looked at each other with panic.
“The name is Luci,” said the man.
“You don’t sound like a Lucy,” said Kendall. But the man on the phone hung up.
“What did he say?” Jesύs asked in a panic.
“He wants me to meet him to give him the backpack. Or else!”
“Or else?”
“Or else!”
“Or else what?” asked Mags.
“I don’t know, he didn’t say. But he sounded serious,” said Kendall.
Pete closed his eyes and sighed. “We’re gonna die,” he said.
“We’re not gonna die,” said Mags, taking his hand. “But we might get arrested.”
“We’re not gonna die or get arrested guys,” said Jesύs. “We’ll just take the coke to them and get all of this over with. We’ll explain that it was all just a big misunderstanding.”
“Jesύs, this is a lot of cocaine,” said Pete. “They’re not just gonna let us go. People get shot for way less coke than this.”
“Okay...okay, okay…...okay…” Jesύs began pacing and running his hands through his hair. “Okay, I have an idea. We’ll get there an hour before the meeting and leave the backpack there-”
“That’s so dumb!” said Mags. “There’s probably gonna be people in that garage waiting for us to do something stupid. Like that!”
“Well, I don’t know!” Jesύs said, throwing his hands in the air. Like he just don't care. But he did care. Very much. He didn’t want to get shot. He didn’t want anyone to get shot! “I think if we go in there and just apologize for the misunderstanding, they’ll understand. There’s good in everyone, right?”
“Even gang members?” asked Pete.
“Even gang members!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next evening came around and the four teens gathered at God’s skyscraper, since Jesύs was staying there for the weekend and because it was close to the parking garage they were headed to.
“Alright, first of all, do we have the backpack?” asked Jesύs.
“Yeah, I got it right here,” said Kendall, turning to show the backpack on his back.
“Ok then, let’s go I guess,” said Jesύs.
The four teens grabbed their skateboards and rode off to the abandoned parking garage. It was nearing the time they were to meet Luci, and the air was thicccc with anticipation. When they arrived, it was already 11:45, and gang members were scattered throughout the place. All of them were dressed in all black and they all wore gold chain necklaces with an upside down cross. Jesύs looked down at his cross shaped birthmark on the inside of his right wrist and prayed there was no connection.
By the time they reached the meeting location, it was 11:52.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As the teens were coming up the stairs of the parking garage, Lucifer was in her personal bathroom, getting ready. The song MmmBop was playing on the little stereo on the counter and Luci was singing along, using her hairdryer as a microphone. She applied her mascara and finished blow drying her hair out. She took one last look in the mirror. Her platinum blonde hair was in a slick bob and her dark makeup was on fleek. She pulled the black suit jacket from the door hook and twirled it around, letting it slide down her arms, pulling it onto her and fastening the button. The last thing she put on was her upside down cross necklace, which matched the other gang members but it was diamond encrusted. She was a classy bitch.
The song Get The Party Started, by P!nk, started playing on the stereo and she turned it all the way up, letting it blast through the parking garage. Lucifer looked at her Breguet Marie-Antoinette Grande Complication pocket watch showing that it was 11:47 exactly. Time to go.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Get The Party Started began blasting through the parking garage as the four teens reached the top floor. Gang members lined the perimeter, all holding guns and wearing sunglasses. Fog rolled across the floor and the music got louder. Through the fog came three more gang members, one of which was holding the boombox from which the music was coming from. Behind them, a tall woman in black heels, sharp black suit, and slick platinum blonde hair strutted through. Her sunglasses were clearly Dolce and Gabbana, and her black leather gloves were Gucci.
The woman stopped about ten feet from the teens and pulled her gloves off, one finger at a time. Then she whipped off her sunglasses. Her eyes were blood red.
“Did you bring my stuff?” she asked.
“Yeah, we brought the backpack, just like Lucy said,” Kendall said.
“Slide it over then,” said the woman.
“You sound a lot different over the phone,” said Kendall.
“Just put the bag down!” said Jesύs.
“My name is Luci, but it wasn’t me you spoke to on the phone,” the woman said.
“We are all Lucifer,” said the gang member holding the boombox beside her.
“That doesn’t make any sense,” said Kendall.
“I’m really sorry about all of this,” said Jesύs. “We didn’t mean to take this backpack. We just want to return it and go on our way.”
Jesύs took the backpack from Kendall and slid it across the floor to Lucifer. She stopped it with her red bottomed Christian Louboutin stilettos and lifted it up. Her brow furrowed as she shook the bag.
“What the hell?” she opened the bag and looked inside. It was empty!
“What the hell?” said Pete. “Kendall, where’s the coke?”
“They asked for the backpack!” said Kendall.
“With the coke inside!” said Mags.
Amidst the confusion and the raising of a hundred guns, another gang appeared from the fog. It was…………….Dumbledore! Jk they didn’t know who this guy was. He was wearing a suit that was almost as slick as Lucifer’s. There was one huge scar running diagonally across his entire face.
Lucifer turned around and said, “Gerald? How did you get in here?”
“You left the back entrance unguarded,” said Gerald.
“Well get out! I was just about to kill these kids!” said Lucifer.
“I don’t think anyone has to die over this,” said Jesύs, raising his hands and looking around at all the guns pointed at him.
“Shut up!” both gang leaders shouted simultaneously.
“I want my coke,” said Gerald. “Now where is it!”
“Your coke? You thought!” said Lucifer, crossing the floor and walking towards Gerald.
“It was my guys who brought the coke to Detroit!” Gerald said, heading towards Lucifer.
When the two were face to face, right next to the teens, Lucifer said, “Well it was my guys who got it over the border!”
Gerald looked down at the backpack Lucifer was holding.
“What’s that for?” he asked.
“It was for the coke, until these fucking kids stole it.”
“It’s all a big misunderstanding,” said Jesύs.
“Who are you?” Gerald snapped, getting in Jesύs’s face.
“We’re just a couple high school students. We didn’t mean to take anyone’s coke! My brother knows where it is. If you’ll let us go we can go get it and bring it back to you.”
“Do you really think I’m going to let you run off with my coke again?!” Lucifer yelled. She glanced sideways at Pete then grabbed him by the arm, swinging him around in front of her and planting her 42 karat gold custom desert eagle pistol with the shell grip engraved with religious characters to his temple.
“Pete!” said Mags.
“I’ll let you three go,” said Lucifer, walking backwards and dragging Pete with her. “But if you ever want to see your friend again, you’ll do the smart thing and bring me the coke.”
“I don’t think so!” said Gerald, grabbing Mags and placing his gun to her temple. “You two better bring the coke to me!”
“You don’t have to do this!” said Jesύs, looking back and forth between the two gang leaders. “We don’t want your coke, I swear!”
“Meet us here tomorrow, 11 am sharp,” said Luci. “That way all the cops will be in church and out of our hair. And you better bring the fucking coke. And the phone!”
Jesύs, seeing no other option, said, “Okay, okay, we’ll go. Please, just don’t hurt our friends!”
“As long as I get what I want you’ll get what you want,” said Gerald.
Kendall stepped forward and faced Lucifer. “Can I have my backpack back? We’re going to need something to carry all that coke in.”
Lucifer glared at him then held the backpack out. Slowly, he stepped forward to grab it, but at the last second, Kendall tried to knock Lucifer’s gun out of the way and grabbed Pete’s arm.
“Oh no you don’t,” Lucifer said. She turned the gun towards Kendall and shot!
But before the bullet could hit, Jesύs felt time slow down. He could see the bullet leaving the gun, the horrified look on Kendall’s face, and the determined look on Lucifer’s. He couldn’t let this happen. Not to his brother.
Time sped up as Jesύs pushed Kendall out of the way, feeling the bullet strike right below his ribcage. Jesύs fell to the ground, bleeding.
Kendall swooped in and cradled his brother. “What was that for?”
“Take that as a warning!” said Lucifer. “Now get out of here, and don’t come back without my coke! And don’t you dare call the cops! I see one cop and your friend is dead!” She threw the backpack down at her feet.
Kendall picked Jesύs up and laid him across two of the skateboards. He put the backpack on then began to pull Jesύs out of the parking garage.
“Don’t worry!” said Kendall to Pete and Mags, pulling his unconscious brother. “We’ll be back!”
Jesύs’s dad’s apartment building was luckily really close to the parking garage. Kendall pulled Jesύs all the way to God’s apartment building and up the stairs to the penthouse, since the elevators were out. When they got to the top, God opened the door.
“What have we here?” God said in a voice that sounded suspiciously like Morgan Freeman. The lighting streaming into the hall from the apartment made God’s face hard to see, as if the camera was blowing out the shot.
“Jesύs got shot!” said Kendall.
“Bring him in,” said God, helping Kendall get Jesύs onto a white couch. The camera focused all of a sudden and God was revealed to also look suspiciously like Morgan Freeman. Jesύs was bleeding all over the white couch, staining it red. God placed a hand on His son’s shoulder and suddenly, all the blood which was spreading across the white couch began slowly moving back into the wound.
Jesύs’s eyes snapped open and his hand went immediately to the gunshot wound. But he soon discovered, it was gone. He sat up and lifted his shirt, only to find smooth, unwounded skin and no blood.
“What?” said Kendall, surprised.
“What’s going on?” said Jesύs, looking a Kendall. “How did I get here?”
“I pulled you on the skateboards,” said Kendall. “You know, after you got shot.”
“Are you alright son?” God asked.
“Dad! What happened to me?” asked Jesύs. “I definitely got shot.”
“Son, there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you,” said God. “I am God.”
“But, Mr. God……. isn’t that like, your name?” said Kendall.
“Yes, but I am so much more. I created you,” said God.
“Not me! My dad is Joseph, ya know, the guy who married your ex-wife?” said Kendall.
“No, not like that. I created everything,” said God. “You know how there are religions? And sometimes there’s a person in those religions who created everything and people worship? That’s me. And no, I don’t just have a big ego, I really am the one who created everything. Come, follow me.”
God led the boys through His penthouse to a pure white door at the end of a hallway. God opened the door to reveal a neverending void of stars and galaxies and other various things. Light swirled around inside. Jesύs tried to see the walls, but it looked like there wasn’t any.
“This is the entire universe,” said God.
“But how are we out here…” Kendall began, but God shushed him.
“Don’t think about it too much,” said God, closing the door. “Now son, as the Son of God, you bear a great responsibility to this universe.”
“Are there other universes?” Jesύs asked.
“I’ll explain later, once your friends are safe,” said God. “Jesύs, you were put on this earth to die for humanity.”
“That’s stupid!” Kendall exclaimed.
“Kendall, can you please give me a moment with my son?” said God. Kendall rolled his eyes and sulked away, pulling his phone out to play Hogwarts Mystery. God turned back to Jesύs. “Son, you will die for humanities sins. Everyone on this earth is born with original sin. By sacrificing yourself, everyone will be given the opportunity to enter my domain- Heaven.”
God raised His hand, gesturing to where heaven would be: up.
“But why?” Jesύs asked. “Why do I have to do that?”
“You, like me, are powerful. More powerful than most people could imagine. You can walk on water and heal people and even bring the occasional person back from the dead! Being the Son of God is a gift.”
“But why didn’t you tell me until now?”
“This is a great burden for someone so young to carry. I wanted you to grow up normal, to be a kid. But it seems the time has come for you to grow to your full potential with your powers. You have friends to rescue, after all.”
“How did you know that?!”
“I’m God, aren’t I?” God chuckled. “There’s one more thing you should know before you go. Soon, there will come a time when even your Godly powers won’t be enough to save you. You will be have to then choose someone to assist you in spreading the Word of God.”
“Who? When?”
“You will know when you know. Now go!”
Jesύs nodded and ran down the hall back to the living room, where he found Kendall sitting on the same white couch Jesύs had laid unconscious on only minutes before.
“How’s your dad?” Kendall asked, looking up from his phone and his Hogwarts Mystery game.
“He’s good. Kendall, we need to go. We have friends to rescue.”
To the song Love is a Battlefield, Jesύs and Kendall rode home on their skateboards and began preparing for the next day. They knew this wouldn’t be easy. Rescuing two friends from opposing gangs, sneaking out of the house with a ton of cocaine, Jesύs and Kendall had a full day ahead of them! But first, it was bedtime.
Except Jesύs couldn’t sleep at all. He kept tossing and turning, thinking about Pete and Mags. He looked at his bedside clock. It read 9:36. It was going to be a long night.
Jesύs ended up not sleeping at all. At 9 in the morning, he threw his covers off and went to Kendall’s room. Jesύs could hear his brother snoring through the door. He knocked and said, “Kendall, wake up.”
“Huh… JC that you?” Kendall slurred.
“Yes. Let’s get the coke and head out,” said Jesύs. “I can’t wait any longer.”
“Kay, lemme get dressed,” said Kendall. Jesύs waited outside Kendall’s room until he came out, dressed, arms full of cocaine.
“Where’s the phone?” asked Jesύs.
“It’s on my desk but you’re gonna have to grab it,” said Kendall. “My hands are full!”
“Where’s the backpack?”
“Oh. Right. Let me grab that.”
Jesύs grabbed the burner phone off the desk as Kendall loaded up the backpack with cocaine. When the teens got downstairs, they saw María in the kitchen. The smell of coffee wafted straight up their noses.
“Aw heck! Mom’s in there,” said Jesύs. “Okay, I’ll go distract her while you sneak out the front door.”
“Wait what about breakfast?” asked Kendall. “It’s the most important meal of the day!”
“I’ll grab you some toast while distracting mom,” said Jesύs.
“Aw thanks bro!” said Kendall.
“What are you boys whispering about?” asked María. “Is there any hot gossip I should know about?”
“Oh hey mom!” Jesύs startled and moved in front of Kendall. María was coming out of the kitchen and Jesύs ran to the kitchen and hugged her, turning her around to face the other way just in time. “No gossip.”
“Darn, I was hoping to hear that you finally started dating Pete and Mary,” said María.
“What? Mom, the three of us are just friends,” Jesύs said as he put a piece of bread in the toaster. Over María’s shoulder, he saw Kendall sneak out the front door.
“Whatever you say,” she said as she sipped her coffee.
“Anyway, we’re gonna head out,” said Jesύs, buttering the toast and moving out of the kitchen.
“Where are you guys going?” asked María.
Jesύs felt his blood run cold. He couldn’t lie to his mom. He hated lying. He found it… displeasing.
“We’re… going to go grab Pete and Mags,” said Jesύs.
“What are you guys up to?” she asked.
“Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh oh ya know… we’re just uhhhh skateboarding and stuff. And getting Pete and Mags. Yeah,” said Jesύs, sweating profusely.
“Okay, well be home before dinner,” said María. “And let me know if Pete and Mary are coming over so I can make enough food.”
“Okay mom bye,” said Jesύs, already closing the door behind him.
Kendall was waiting for him outside with the four skateboards and the coke-filled backpack.
“We’re bringing their skateboards?” asked Jesύs. “Won’t those get in the way?”
“Well, I was thinking we could tie them to our feet like rollerblades,” said Kendall. He pulled some rope out of his backpack and bent down, tying his feet to two skateboards. He was struggling though, because the skateboards were slipping and sliding while he was trying to tie the rope.
“I don’t think that’s necessary,” said Jesύs. “Maybe we can just carry them. We should probably get going though.”
“You’re right, this is so hard,” said Kendall, out of breath and struggling to unwrap his feet from the skateboards. Jesύs knelt down and untied the rope, Kendall stuffing it back into his backpack. Then the two of them were off, skating down the street into the city.
Devin cracked his eyes open and was welcomed with a splitting headache. When his vision finally cleared up, he saw sunlight streaming in through a big window, illuminating two people spooning each other on the couch in the middle of the room. Slowly, he turned his head and saw Emma sitting next to him, still unconscious. Both he and Emma were handcuffed to the radiator. There was a guard sitting in an armchair near the door, cradling his gun. Devin noticed the guard was wearing the upside down cross necklace of the Hellhounds. He silently swore under his breath. This was worse than he thought.
With a glance around the room, the only ways out that Devin could see was the door at the back of the room and the window. The room had dark wood panelled walls and thick red carpet. An unlit fireplace was on the wall across from the couch and on the floor in front of it was an enormous bearskin rug. Devin knew Lucifer had once killed a bear with her own two hands while in Russia then handcrafted in into a monsterous rug. This must be that bear. Bookshelves and expensive looking paintings lined the walls.
Leeeeeet’s get it started in here…….
The first notes of Let’s Get it Started by the Black Eyed Peas began playing. Devin looked around, confused.
And the bass keep Runnin’ runnin, and runnin runnin, and runnin runnin…
The door opened and Lucifer came into the room in slow motion. Her white suit was impeccable as always and her platinum blonde hair whipped around her face in a slow motion arch. Behind her, Gerald came in, his black suit not as fantastic as Lucifer’s. Devin pretended to still be unconscious. Through his slightly cracked open eyelids, Devin saw Lucifer look at the sleeping guard, scowl, then pull out her gun. Without hesitating, she shot him in the leg and he fell to the ground, screaming. The two people spooning on the couch sat up, startled.
In this context, there's no disrespect, so When I bust my rhyme, you break your necks We got five minutes for us to disconnect From all intellect collect the rhythm effect...
“What did I tell you about sleeping on the job, Carl?” Lucifer said.
Carl didn’t respond. He sat on the ground, holding his leg.
She looked at the people on the couch. “Ah, you’re awake.”
They said nothing, just stared at her wide eyed.
“Get up. It’s time to go meet your friends.”
The two teens stood up, holding hands. Gerald grabbed the girl by the arm and ripped her from the boy. Luci grabbed the boy.
“What about them?” asked Gerald, nodding his head towards Devin and Emma.
“Leave them. We’ll deal with them later,” said Lucifer.
“And Carl?”
“What about him? It’s not like he’s going anywhere.”
Obstacles are inefficient, follow your intuition Free your inner soul and break away from tradition Coz when we beat out, girl it's pullin' without You wouldn't believe how we wow shit out Burn it till it's burned out Turn it till it's turned out Act up from north, west, east, south...
Lucifer and Gerald hauled the teens out of the room, the door banging closed behind them. Devin waited a moment to make sure they weren’t coming back, then turned to his girlfriend.
“Emma? Emma wake up,” Devin said, lightly shaking her shoulder with his free hand. No response.
“She won’t wake up,” said Carl. He wasn’t screaming anymore, just laying on the ground holding his leg. “She got hit pretty hard.”
Devin looked up at Carl. “Help me get out of here.”
Mags was getting pretty sick of having a gun pointed at her head.
Gerald’s grip on her arm was annoying. She knew that she could easily get away from Gerald and take him down, but she didn’t know if Pete would be able to do the same with Lucifer, and she didn’t want him getting hurt because of her. She had grown up taking self-defense classes. As a young girl in Detroit with a paranoid police officer mother, one could never be too careful. Over the years, Mags had become an expert in most forms of martial arts.
Just by looking at Gerald, Mags could tell he would stand no chance against her. He was taller than Mags, but not by much. He looked physically strong, but even so, Mags knew how to use someone else’s weight against them, no problem. He was probably in his late 30s, early 40s. He had straight, black hair and a sweaty mustache. His scar was glistening with sweat. It ran across his entire face, jagged and a shade lighter than his light brown skin.
Luci and Gerald led them to the garage. Luci shoved Pete into the backseat of the fanciest car Mags had ever seen. It wasn’t just a Lambo, it was an iridescent Lambo with gold piping and blue ground lights. The license plate read EVL 666. The doors opened upward, and one of Luci’s guys got in the back with Pete. Mags watched helplessly as they shoved a black bag over his head.
Gerald’s car was fancy, but not as much. It was a black luxury Cadillac with silver trim and suicide doors. A second black bag was shoved onto Mags’s head after she was pushed into the backseat. The engine started running and Let’s Get it Started was still playing.
Everybody, everybody, let's get into it Get stupid Get it started, get it started, get it started Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here Yeah
Mags could only hope that Jesύs and Kendall had a plan.
Kendall and Jesύs skateboarded through Wayne State’s campus, dodging groggy students walking to their early morning classes. Kendall couldn’t really remember how to get to the parking garage, but Jesύs seemed to know what he was doing. Jesύs seemed odd today. Kendall wouldn’t describe him as mad, Jesύs never got mad. He just seemed annoyed. Kendall hoped he wasn’t annoyed with him.
They rounded a corner on Cass and found themselves skateboarding through a terrible looking neighborhood. Kendall spotted the parking garage through the trees. He saw a plastic bag caught in one of the trees alongside the street and he stared at it for a second too long, and he nearly fell off his skateboard.
“Careful!” said Jesύs. “We’re almost there.”
“Yeah I know,” Kendall responded. “Hey, what’s the plan here?”
“Well, we’re going to go in, give them the cocaine, get Mags and Pete, then go home and finish watching Sing.”
“Okay, that’s a good plan and all but…”
“But?”
“But that’s the best case scenario. We are working with gangs here. What if something goes wrong?”
“Okay, what do you suggest then?”
“We should split up, in case something goes wrong. You go in with the cocaine, and I’ll wait outside as backup. I’ll call you and you can put your phone on speaker and I’ll put mine on mute so I can hear what’s up inside but they won’t hear me if I sneeze or something.”
“That’s actually a really good idea. What if you get caught?”
“Well, I didn’t start taking all those self-defense classes with Mags for nothing. I can hold my own. But what if the two gangs can’t agree to share the cocaine? What will you do if they both demand you give them all of it?”
“I’d consider myself pretty diplomatic. I bet we can work something out.”
“I sure hope so.”
“Why would I help you?” said Carl, holding his gunshot wound and holding back tears.
“Well, you’re going to bleed out if no one helps you out. And there isn’t anyone else here to help you out.”
“You have a point,” Carl said, his face beginning to turn a sickly shade of white. “But I can’t. Luci will shoot me if I help you.”
Carl looked down at himself, as if just remembering that she already shot him. A look of resignation crossed his face. He reached into his back pocket and tossed a ring of keys to Devin, who caught them in his free hand.
“It’s the one that’s painted green,” said Carl.
Devin hurried to unlock his own handcuffs and then went to free Emma. As he was taking the handcuffs off of her, her eyes fluttered open.
“What’s going on?” she asked. “Where are we?”
“We’re at Luci’s house,” said Devin. “We need to get out.”
“You shouldn’t have tried to bring the coke to our apartment,” said Emma. “Haven’t you figured these people out by now?”
“I’ve only been working with them for a month- I didn’t know this would happen,” Devin said, running his hands over his head and face. “But Lucifer is crazy, so we need to get out of here as soon as possible.”
“Ya think?” Emma said, hands on her hips.
“I’m sorry Emma,” Devin said. “I’m really, really sorry. I didn’t ever want you getting mixed up in this. When we get out of this place, we’re running away, somewhere far from these gangs.”
Devin looked at Carl, who looked like he was about to pass out. Devin stood up, grabbed a blanket off the couch, and threw it at Carl.
“Use this to mop up the blood.” Devin reached down and grabbed Carl’s pistol, shoving it into the waistband of his pants. He turned to Emma, offering her his hand. “Let’s get out of here.”
She took it and stood up. The couple ran out of the room, leaving behind an unconscious Carl.
“Where are we going?” Emma asked.
“I’m not sure. Out and away, hopefully.”
They turned a corner and saw a member of the Hellhounds walking away from them. Devin and Emma quietly followed him. They watched as he reached the end of the hall and stopped, facing a floor to ceiling painting of a man in a suit and top hat with his back turned to the viewer in a large gold frame. The man slapped the painting’s ass and the painting swung out like a door, revealing a dark stairwell. He walked down the stairs and the painting swung shut behind him.
“Let’s wait a minute then follow,” Devin whispered. “I bet that leads out.”
“Or it leads into Luci’s secret lair,” Emma retorted.
“Nah, it’s Gucci.”
After a short wait, Devin slapped the ass. Emma followed him down the dark staircase.
At the bottom they discovered that they were in a dimly lit, concrete tunnel. They followed the tunnel for a while until they came to a door. The door opened to reveal the lower level of a parking garage. The door was labeled with “Maintenance, Authorized Personnel Only”. The Hellhound was nowhere to be seen.
Devin and Emma began to walk up the drive until they reached ground level. As they started to walk towards the exit, Devin noticed two kids riding in on skateboards. One of them looked oddly familiar to Devin.
“I played beer pong with that kid,” Devin said to Emma.
“What?” she asked.
“Yeah, at that party where my backpack got switched.”
Devin started to walk towards the two kids.
“Hey! Beer pong guy!” said the kid Devin knew. “You were really good at that game!”
“You’re good at beer pong?” asked Emma, a smile on her face.
“You know him?” said the kid Devin didn’t know.
“Hey, man this is my brother, Jesύs,” said the beer pong kid. “And I’m Kendall.”
“I’m Devin, this is Emma. What are you doing here?”
“We have to return some coke I accidentally stole,” said Kendall. “What about you?”
“Holy shit,” said Devin. “Do you know what kind of trouble you’ve caused?”
“Yeah, two of my friends are kidnapped right now,” said Kendall.
“Because you have the coke?” Devin asked.
“Yeah,” said Jesύs. “We just want them back. Honest, we never wanted the coke. Are you with Luci’s gang or Gerald’s gang?”
“Neither. I’m with Lady Carlisle. And Gerald works for Luci.”
“What?” Jesύs exclaimed.
“It’s all one big gang. The Hellhounds. They sometimes pretend to be seperate to mess with people and make more money. It works pretty well.”
“Yeah, they sure got us,” said Kendall.
“Well, we should probably get going,” said Jesύs. “It was nice meeting you guys.”
“Do you guys want backup?” asked Emma, causing Devin to look at her in surprise.
“Oh heck! That’d be Gucci!” said Kendall. “Okay, so here’s the plan.”
After hiding the skateboards, Jesύs and Kendall began their journey into the parking garage. They walked up all the driving ramps until they heard the song Cliffs of Dover by Eric Johnson. It was getting louder as they went, which let them know they were getting closer. They walked until they got to a middle level of the parking garage. This level was filled with men in suits, obviously Luci’s men. And there was Luci, standing at the other side of the garage, on her legs. She was holding onto Pete, her 42 karat gold custom desert eagle pistol with the shell grip engraved with religious characters to his head. Beside her stood Gerald, holding on to Mags, who didn’t look worried at all.
But Jesύs was worried very much. Because everyone in the room besides him and his friends had guns and they all looked like they were ready to start shootin any minute. Jesύs took the backpack off and laid it on the ground.
“Okay, we have your stuff. Can we please have our friends back?” asked Jesύs.
“Open the backpack,” said Luci.
Kendall unzipped the backpack and dumped the cocaine all over the ground. Luci gestured to one of her men and he stepped forward and collected the cocaine.
“It’s all here,” he said.
“Now, can you please let go of our friends?” Jesύs asked.
“Not yet,” said Luci.
“What? Why not?”
“Now that you have proven to be efficient drug mules, given the proper motivation, of course, I have another job for you two.”
“No way!” said Kendall! “You have your coke now give us our friends! That was the deal!”
“That was the deal,” said Luci sassily. “But, seeing as I have the upper hand, I think I’m going to change the deal. You all know where the Walmart is? Behind the store, I have a few guys who will meet you at 1:30. Get the package and bring it back here to me. Then we’ll discuss your friends’ freedom.”
“Krust you!” Kendall yelled. “We would never work for you!”
“You must not care too much for your friends then…” Luci said while cocking her gun.
“Wait, wait, wait!” Jesύs held out his hands. “Luci, please! We’re just a couple of high school kids! We don’t know anything about… drugging.”
“How cuuuuute,” said Luci. “Then why don’t I teach you a thing or two.”
Luci moved her 42 karat gold custom desert eagle pistol with the shell grip engraved with religious characters from its place at Pete’s temple and pointed it at Jesύs. However, before she got the chance to pull the trigger, a gunshot rang out from the rafters, a bullet hitting Luci in the shoulder. She gasped and let go of Pete, who ran over to Jesύs and Kendall. Jesús caught him in a hug. It was……….Dumbledore!! JK it was Devin! And he leapt out of the rafters and landed dramatically in a superhero landing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“You double crossing son of a bitch!” Luci screamed. She pointed her 42 karat gold custom desert eagle pistol with the shell grip engraved with religious characters at Jesύs and pulled the trigger. The song Mmm Whatcha Say started playing. The gunshot was loud and also in slow motion. Jesύs could do nothing but stand frozen in shock.
Kendall however, lept into action. He saw the bullet moving towards his brother in slow motion. Time sped up again as Kendall jumped in front of the bullet. “He felt it rip through his flesh, hitting somewhere just below his heart. He collapsed onto the floor, pain tearing through his body” (Headley, 2015). He heard many things at once: the commotion of everyone in the garage leaping into action, gunshots all around him, and Jesύs screaming. But then he stopped hearing and the pain went away.
Luci held her injured shoulder. The kickback from her shot brought her to her knees. She watched as that one kid, Kendall fell down, the bullet hitting him in the ribs. He lay there for a moment, making Luci think she got him for good. Jesύs knelt over him, willing his godly powers to do something to save his brother. Boom Boom Pow by the Black Eyed Peas started playing. Then, Kendall did something that made everyone in the garage stop and stare. He stood up, white light spilling out of his bullet hole. The bullet hole closed up before everyone’s eyes. Kendall reached up to the top of his head and grabbed a zipper that no one had seen until now. He began to unzip himself down the front, revealing another person underneath. He unzipped himself down to his feet, revealing a glowing humanoid form who rose into the air. The glowing form spun around, flower pedals and sparkles creating a fluttering vortex around him. A swarm of ethereal butterflies made of white light burst forth from the glowing body, creating a cloud around him. The cloud of light butterflies became thicker until Luci could no longer see the glowing body. Then the cloud of writhing light burst out into a magnificent firework. The form landed on the ground in a dramatic superhero landing, no longer glowing. And since he was no longer glowing, everyone could see that it was no longer Kendall. It was……………..Pope Francis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Luci gasped. This was the last person she was expecting to show up, much less to appear out of some gangly ass teenager!
“What the fucking krust?” Luci said. “Francis what are you doing here? And how did you get inside that gangly ass teenager?”
“The Power of God, my child,” said the Pope.
“Don’t call me your child you dingy washed up old Bible fucker! Get the hell out of my garage!”
Luci raised her 42 karat gold custom desert eagle pistol with the shell grip engraved with religious characters at the Pope. She started to shoot at him, but the bullets just ricocheted off of him. He walked towards Luci, who was still kneeling on the ground. He placed his hands above her head.
“Be still my child,” said Pope Francis.
“Is he blessing her?” Pete whispered to Jesύs.
Nope. He sure wasn’t. Quick and without remorse, the Pope grabbed Luci’s head and turned it to the side, snapping her neck. She fell to the ground in a heap, the 42 karat gold custom desert eagle pistol with the shell grip engraved with religious characters falling from her hand.
“Oh hell yeah!” Mags yelled. She took that as the cue that the battle had began. She jumped up into the air, still in Gerald’s grasp, and flipped backward over his shoulder, making Gerald fall backward and slam into the concrete. A gang member began to shoot at her, but couldn’t hit. Mags was too good. She ran at him and quickly disarmed him, knocking him out with a swift kick to the jaw.
Once that gang member had shot, everyone else took it as their cue to do the same.
“This is much too violent for my liking,” said Pope Francis, raising his arms. He snapped his fingers and everyone’s guns turned into wooden crosses.
All the gang members stopped in confusion, except Gerald.
“You think this is gonna stop me?!” he shouted, flipping the cross around in his hand and brandishing it like a sword. “Bring it on old man!”
Pope Francis summoned a beam of white light in the shape of a sword into his hand as Gerald ran at him, screaming. Cross clashed with light. Pope Francis swung the light sword at Gerald, who jumped backwards. The Pope took a step forward, swinging at Gerald again. This time, Gerald blocked the blow with his cross, then raised the cross, and swung at the Pope’s head. Pope Francis ducked, causing Gerald to knock the Pope’s stupid Pope Hat off his head.
Emma had come down out of the rafters, cross in hand. Her and Devin were surrounded by several Hellhounds. They were doing their best, but, seeing as they were severely outnumbered, they weren't looking too hot.
“Mags, on the other hand, was doing just fine, even when horribly outnumbered. She fought with a fierce looking Hellhound. And his butt cheeks were taped together! But Mags can do Jiu Jitsu! She body slammed the Hellhound! Legendary fight with a random Hellhound! Normal Tuesday afternoon for the Hellhound! Mags tries to swing an axe at the Hellhound, but blood is draining fast from her stump leg! He’s dodging every swipe, he parries to the left, Mags catches him in the neck, she’s chopping off his head now! Mags just decapitated the Hellhound.
Mags walked away from the bloody scene, a shell of a man. Her head hung low, she knew that she will be sent to detention for this.
But wait! He isn’t dead! Hellhound surprise! There’s a cross in his hand and death in his eyes!” (Father, 2015).
Pope Francis saw Mags fighting the Hellhound and decided to help. He approached and held up his hands. The Hellhound stopped fighting and looked at him, his eyes glazed over. Pope Francis put his hands on the Hellhound’s face and the life left his eyes. The Pope dropped the lifeless dog like he was tossing aside a lifeless dog.
“Thanks Pope,” said Mags, giving him a high five.
All of the Hellhounds died. Now that the battle was won, Pope Francis floated into the air. He was engulfed with white light and then he was Kendall again! Kendall slowly dropped from the air and laid on the ground, asleep.
Jesús ran over to him and shook his shoulder. There was no sign of the bullet wound. Kendall’s eyes fluttered open.
“Dude, what the krust?” he mumbled.
“Kendall! Do you remember anything?” asked Jesús.
“No...but I had a dream that I was in Italy and I was in this really fancy museum with all these paintings of this guy who kinda looked like you…” he said, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
“Dude that’s wild,” said Pete. “You like, totally transformed into Pope Francis and killed everyone in here.”
“You saved us,” said Mags, who knelt down beside him.
“Whoa...That’s crazy,” said Kendall. “Well, what do we do about all these bodies? Should we call the cops?”
“Yeah, we should probably call the cops,” said Jesús.
“I don’t wanna be here when the cops show up,” said Devin. “So we’re gonna split. We’ll keep in touch though.”
“Yeah, hey! Jesús and I have a swim meet tomorrow at the high school,” said Pete. “You guys should come cheer us on!”
“Maybe we will,” said Emma. “Well, I gotta get out of this stupid dress. We’ll catch you guys on the flippity flop.”
“Yeah! It was good to see you guys!” said Kendall. “Catch you later!”
Emma and Devin left while Jesús called the police. The bodies were all taken care of and next thing they knew, it was time for the swim meet!
I Got A Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas started playing as people poured into the school for the swim meet. The smell of chlorine hit their noses as they entered. Parents and friends took seats in the bleachers. Down below, the swim teams from the two schools stood on opposite sides of the pool. Jesús put his swim cap on. Beside him, Pete looked at him with victory in his eyes. He put on his goggles.
Up in the bleachers, Mags, María and Kendall held up a banner with Jesús and Pete’s names on it written in glitter. Two people sat down beside Mags. She looked over at them. It was…………………………..Emma and Devin! They had foam fingers! And buckets of popcorn!
Coach Moses came out of the wings holding a mic.
“Hellooooo Detroit!” he said. The crowd cheered. “Are you guys ready for this swim meet?” The crowd yelled, but it wasn’t loud enough. “I said...ARE YOU GUYS READY???”
The crowd went wild as the beat dropped.
The swimmers climbed onto their blocks and Coach Moses shot the gun into the air, signalling the start of the relay. The swimmers dove into the water and began swimming fast. They were good. Jesús stepped up to the block, ready to dive in next. His relay partner, Luke, hit the wall and Jesús dove.
But instead of breaking the surface of the water, Jesús nearly broke his nose as he hit the water but didn’t go through. The crowd went silent. Pete stared in shock from the diving boards. Jesús stood up on top of the water, still getting over his shock.
“Run!” Pete yelled. “Just run!”
And boy did he run! He ran to the end of the pool and back, touching the wall before all the other swimmers. The crowd was going absolutely nuts. It was record breaking!
Well, anyway, Jesús won that swim meet for his school that day.
Jesús, Kendall, Mags, and Pete climbed into the back of God’s minivan.
“Good job tonight!” God said to Jesús and Pete.
“Thanks dad!” Jesús said.
“Before I take you kids home, I have a mission for you. Now that you’ve proven yourselves against the Hellhounds, it’s time I reveal your true quest,” God explained. “You four must unite all the religions.”
“That’s seems like a lot of work,” said Kendall, from the passenger seat.
“It will be. But it is your duty,” said God. “Now...I must drop you off at your first destination.”
“But we have school tomorrow!” said Jesús.
“School will be there when you get back,” said God. He turned around to face Jesús, who was sitting in the middle in the back seat. He handed a stupid chunky watch to Jesús, who took it and looked it over. The watch was fastened with velcro and the bulk of it was plastic, with a part that flipped open to reveal a number pad. “This device will help you travel on your quest. Just type in some numbers and it’ll take you to the next universe.”
“Wicked!” said Kendall.
“Wow, that’s ugly,” said Mags.
“Oh I didn’t realize you were a fashion expert,” said God. “Anyway, go my son. Good luck my dudes. Mespeed.”
Jesús opened the keypad and typed in some numbers. With each number he typed, a garbled electronic voice said the number. When he pressed the right combination of numbers, the lights flashed on the side of the watch.
“Let’s rock it!” Jesús said. A flash of light and they were gone!

Basement Demon
Hey there everyone! It’s ya gurl Father Par Par! Luci suggested I post this short story of mine, so here I am! It has swearing, mentions of non-con experiments, and recreational drug use, so if you’re not into that, don’t read it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Penny rolled over in bed and opened Snapchat on her phone. It was ten in the morning and she already had four snapchats. Three were from her friends and one was from her mom, sent at midnight. She opened that one last. It was a long series of videos of the cats. Penny missed her cats dearly since she’s been living in Detroit, and she loved getting pictures of them.
But these videos were strange. The first one was a video of her black cat, Soske, sitting in front of the basement door on his hind legs, pawing at something in front of him. His eyes looked glazed over and his behavior was unlike anything Penny had ever seen. The caption said “Cats are acting weird.”
The next video was of Penny’s white cat, Keko, who was stalking something by the basement door. With a quick pan, the video showed that the basement door was open but there was nothing there. Keko continued to stalk but then she stopped and her eyes lost focus and she stood up to do the same thing Soske did in the last video. The next video made Penny sit straight up in bed and her heart skip a beat. Soske was standing on his back legs again and he was pawing at the air and then he collapsed and started shaking on the floor. Penny’s dad came into the video and scooped him up. The next video was of Soske in her dad’s arms, shaking and curled up close to him. The next snapchat from Penny’s mom was a picture of the cats sleeping on the living room couch. The caption said, “Cats are fine, that was weird…”
It certainly was weird… But Penny didn’t have time to dwell on it because she heard her brother come into the apartment and throw his keys.
“Penny! Mike’s waiting for us outside,” Adrian shouted. Mike was their other roommate, one of Adrian’s friends from high school.
“Where are we going?” Penny shouted back as she hurried to get dressed.
“There’s a garage sale a few blocks away,” he said.
“Okay, I’m ready,” Penny stuffed her phone in her pocket and pulled her hair into a quick ponytail as she ran out into the apartment. She followed her brother outside and hopped into Mike’s van, which was waiting outside the building.
“Ready to go?” asked Mike.
“Yep,” said Penny, buckling her seatbelt, not trusting Mike’s driving skills. They drove a few blocks down into the neighborhood with the old houses mixed with the newer houses. It was a pretty normal looking neighborhood, mostly filled with elderly people and college students. There were a few younger families in the newer houses. It looked like this weekend was the sub sale, since there were many garage sales scattered throughout the neighborhood. They drove past the ones that looked like a bunch of junk or the ones with all baby stuff. They stopped at one that looked big and had lots of interesting things out on the driveway.
Penny hopped out of the van and ran to the interesting looking desk sitting out. She opened all the drawers and cupboards before moving onto the vintage Singer sewing machine next to it. The boys went into the garage and looked through the books and movies. Penny joined them but something caught her eye before she got the chance to browse the books. An old fashioned radio with a cassette player in the front was sitting on the electronics table next to a box full of cassette tapes.
“Does this work?” Penny asked the person sitting in a lawn chair just outside the garage.
“Yep, still works,” the woman said. “Just needs new batteries if you plan on using it. I used to carry that thing around back in the eighties.”
“Whoa…how much?” asked Penny, already searching through the tapes.
“You can have it for ten bucks,” she said.
“How about five?”
“Seven.”
“Deal.”
Penny walked away from that garage sale carrying the radio and three tapes; the Best of the Bee Gees, Hall and Oates, and a blank tape without a case, smudged writing on the sticker.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Everyone listen up!” Anabel shouted, trying to get her team’s attention. She slammed her hands on the table for good measure. Her four teammates slowly quieted down and looked at her. They were sitting around the meeting table in their underground headquarters. The headquarters was small, but big enough for five bedrooms, two bathrooms, an armory, and a conjoined kitchen and meeting room. The five of them have been working on it since they were kids.
“We have a mission,” Anabel said. “A house in the Chesterfield suburbs has a demon living in their basement. The homeowners don’t know yet, and I’d like to keep it that way. But the problem is, they have cats.”
“Why is that a problem?” asked Jason.
“There are two beings that are most susceptible to being possessed by a demon,” Ava said, folding her hands on the table and glancing at Eli who sat across from her. “Cats and Androids.”
Eli stiffened. He had a feeling he knew what the plan was going to be and he didn’t like it.
“Why is that, do we know?” asked Luke. His glowing blue eyes met Eli’s nervous yellow ones. Luke was born blind but he wore special contacts that allowed him to see. They were almost completely discreet except for the fact that they glowed icy blue. He often wore sunglasses out in public so that the blue glow wouldn’t draw attention, just as Eli wore sunglasses in public to cover his yellow eyes.
“We’re not sure yet, but we believe that it’s because demons can’t possess a human without permission. But androids aren’t in their code of honor, so they’re free real estate according to demons,” said Anabel.
“That’s stupid,” said Jason. “Androids are people too. Just because they don’t have a soul or whatever, no offense Eli, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have the same rights.”
“If I may,” Eli interrupted. “I believe it is simply because we have easily changeable programming. For instance, I have programs that protect me from viruses and hackers, which could change my programming, but a demon isn’t either of those things. To them, I am basically an empty, semi organic body that is, as Anabel said, free real estate.”
“And why cats?” asked Luke.
Anabel shrugged. “No one knows.”
Jason clapped his hands, making everyone startle. “Welp! I’m ready for whatever happens on this mission. Let’s go capture a demon!”
And that was that.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Penny, Adrien and Mike were laying on the roof of the van, which was parked next to a corn field. They passed a blunt between them as the last few notes of the Hall and Oates tape played out on the radio, which sat next to Penny on the roof. Penny replaced it with the mysterious tape with the smudged writing.
“Anything could be on here guys,” said Penny as she rewound it and prepared to play it.
“I’m ready for anything,” Mike said, his voice sounding congested and slightly muffled as he held in the smoke. Penny pressed play and took the joint Mike handed her, white smoke curling from his mouth. There was no music that started up. Instead, there was just the sound of distant voices and other movement.
“Alright Dr. Darling, now I have a few questions to ask you,” said the crackling voice of a man over the sound of rustling paper. “You conducted illegal experiments on your assistant involving demon possession, did you not?”
Penny looked at Mike and Adrien with wide eyes. They looked back at her with equally surprised expressions.
“Yes,” said a different man.
“And your assistant is an android, correct?”
“Yes.”
“Are you aware of the trial that took place last year confirming the citizenship and personhood of androids?”
“Yes.”
“So you knew that these experiments were unethical in nature and punishable by law.”
“Yes.”
“Did you create your assistant?”
“Yes, I created Ben.”
“It says in your file that all of your research up until Ben has been about demons. Is it possible that you created your assistant to help you specifically in these types of experiments?”
“Yes, that was my intention.”
“That is nonconsensual and violates many-“
“Detective, sorry to interrupt, but Ben is programmed to not have any emotions. Consent does not matter to him, he is simply programmed to do as I say. What about all the cats I’ve used before Ben? They are not able to consent, so is that considered unethical as well?”
“Yes, doctor, that is exactly what that means. If a person or animal is unable to consent, then it is unethical to conduct experiments on them regardless. Do you understand why you are being detained for the things you’ve done.”
“Yes.”
“And do you admit that your experiments were unethical and unprofessional?”
“Yes.”
The tape ended there and there was nothing but staticy silence.
“What the fuck?” Adrien mumbled.
“You found that at the garage sale?” asked Mike. Penny stared at the sky, still thinking about what she had just heard.
“Uh-huh.”
Just then, Penny thought of the Snapchats she received that morning from her mom. The detective on the tape mentioned Dr. Darling using cats in his experiments. What if her cats were being possessed by a demon? Or a demon was trying to possess them? She sat up with new energy, feeling the need to go back to her parent’s house to check on her cats.
“Mike, take me back to the apartment building. I need to drive home.”
The boys followed Penny off the roof of the car.
“Why?”
“I need to save my cats.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I’m the bait, aren’t I?” asked Eli, cocking his head to the side slightly.
“I mean, we didn’t want to come right out and say it…” Jason said. “We didn’t want you to panic or anything.”
“We didn’t want to hurt your feelings by putting you out there like that,” said Luke.
Ava chuckled and shook her head.
“You both know that I have no feelings to hurt,” Eli said. “I do not mind. I’m willing to be of assistance in any way I can.”
“That’s the spirit!” Jason shouted. The four of them were driving to Chesterfield, preparing to attend a big party at the house they were targeting.
“Let’s go over the plan once more,” said Ava, still giggling. “We are going to attend this party and act like the other party goers. So just act like normal, like you’re regular people attending a party. Eli will hopefully draw the demon out and then we can capture it. The goal is to be discreet and quick. We need to get out of there as fast as possible.”
“Won’t this be kind of unsafe with all those people there?” Luke asked.
“I don’t think we need to worry about that,” said Ava. “Besides, most demons aren’t visible to the human eye, so we’ll just keep an eye on Eli and wait for the signs.”
As they entered the neighborhood, they could see the party from all the way down the block. Cars lined the street on both sides and people streamed into the house they were looking for. The party already looked like it was hoppin’ and it was only seven o’clock. Jason navigated through the street and found a spot to park. Eli and Luke put on their sunglasses before they got out of the car. As they walked to the house, Luke nudged Eli and tapped his sunglasses.
“Twinsies,” he grinned. Eli just started at him. Luke cleared his throat and looked forward. When they entered the house, they saw that the party was mainly going on in the basement. The stairs going down to the basement were converted into a train ride. There was a track that looped around at the top where people piled into the cars and then the conductor, a middle aged man in a stripped conductors outfit, used the controls to make the train slowly go back down the other side of the tracks.
There was a long line of partiers waiting to go downstairs and the four demon hunters got in line. They stood behind three giggling women who wore short dresses and a bunch of leis and beads around their necks. They were clearly drunk. The three women shared a car on the train, the conductor having to help them on. The four hunters got into a car behind them, squeezing in tight, not wanting to get separated by these drunk party goers.
As they disembarked the train at the bottom, Eli tried his hardest to focus and keep his eyes peeled for anything out of the ordinary. The drunk women were still nearby. Eli’s concentration was broken as someone shoved past him and smacked one of the girl’s butts. She shrieked and turned around, her drink spilling on the guy and her friends laughing hysterically. Eli turned away from the scene and tried to find his friends. They had already disappeared into the thick crowd.
As Eli wandered the party looking for his friends, he noticed three things. First, the basement, before it was wrecked by the mess of a rager such as this, was a very nice basement. It was huge and nicely finished. There was an entertainment center and pool table off to one side, a sitting room, a spacious floor, old arcade games lining the back wall and a full bar on the other side.
Second, the people here weren’t particularly drunk and awful. It was simply the fact that there were so many of them and most of them seemed to be inebriated in some way. Not to mention the empty cans and bottles all over the floor and the raggedy streamers hanging over almost everything.
And thirdly, Eli realized that he was becoming paranoid and anxious. He didn’t realize that he was capable of experiencing such things, but the way his hands were shaking and the fact that he jumped every time he saw a flash of red told him otherwise. More than once, he thought he saw someone staring at him through the crowd wearing a red demon mask. But when he looked, they would disappear. It was putting him on edge. So it wasn’t a surprise that he jumped and spun around when he felt a hand on his shoulder.
“Whoa, it’s only me,” said Luke. “You okay?”
“Of course.”
“I’m glad I found you,” said Luke. “I can’t find Jason and Ava.”
“I think this crowd is affecting my ability to focus,” said Eli. He saw Luke glance down at his hands, so he shoved them into his pockets to keep them from shaking.
“Okay, we’re almost done here. We’ll get out of here as soon as possible. Do you want to leave? I’m pretty sure we’d be able to handle ourselves without you,” said Luke, putting a hand on his friend’s shoulder.
“No, I am fine. I don’t see how leaving would make any difference. Let’s find Jason and Ava,” said Eli.
The pair pushed through the crowd trying to locate their friends. They spotted them over by the bar, where they were talking to a shirtless guy who was sloshing his drink all over the place. He wore a lei and sunglasses that were sliding off his face. Eli watched as the guy reached over and touched Ava’s hair. She gently pushed his hand away and shook her head. Luke and Eli approached and Ava’s face lit up.
“There you are! We were so worried about you!” she said.
“Hey! There you are! You two wandered off without us!” said Jason. “Having fun just the two of you I see.”
“Jason, please focus,” said Ava. She smiled at the man who was still leaning on the bar, trying to get closer to her. The man looked at the two newcomers and lit up.
“Hey! Twinsies!” he reached out and touched the lenses of Luke’s sunglasses, making him flinch and recoil. The man’s fingers left a grease streak on the lens.
“I’m sorry for cutting this short but this has been a very unpleasant conversation and we’re leaving now,” said Ava.
The boys followed Ava as she left the bar and walked to the back where the arcade games provided a bright glow.
“Avaaa, first kill of the night, huh?” said Jason. Ava smiled and rolled her eyes.
“Please, that guy was asking for it,” she said. She looked over to Luke and Eli. Luke had taken off his glasses to wipe the lens with his shirt. “Any luck finding anything you two?”
“No luck,” said Luke, putting his shades back on.
“I did see something…” Eli said, pausing to figure out how to say this. “At least, I think I saw something. On many occasions, I thought I saw a man staring at me through the crowd. He was wearing a red demon mask but every time I looked for him, he would disappear. Perhaps I’m having some sort of malfunction.”
“You aren’t,” said Jason, staring at something over his shoulder. Eli turned around to follow his friend’s gaze and saw the man in the mask. He stood ominously still as the throng of partygoers flowed around him. Someone passed in front of him and then he was gone. Further into the crowd, somewhere the four hunters couldn’t see, a scream erupted, followed by more screams and a rush of people.
“Now’s our chance!” said Luke. The four of them pushed through the crowd, which was becoming thicker as everyone ran to the train. The conductor was evacuating people. Four or five people were piling into each car and the little train was having trouble staying on the tracks.
Eli looked away for one second and he lost track of his friends. They must have been swept away by the crowd. Eli had to try his hardest to not be swept away himself as he pushed his way to where the scream came from.
Luke, Ava and Jason found themselves at the top of the stairs, the thick crowd of people pushing them back.
“Eli is still down there!” said Jason.
“Let us back down our friend is down there!” Ava said, trying to get past the conductor. But the man wouldn’t let them pass. He pushed them away and held the controller out of reach.
“No one goes down there! It ain’t safe!” he shouted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Penny passed the cars that lined her street and parked in her driveway. The lights were on inside and she could hear quite the commotion. It didn’t sound like a party, it sounded like chaos. She pushed through her front door and immediately searched for her cats. She found them in her parent’s room, hiding from the crowds of people. They looked fine so Penny hugged both of them then went out to find the demon. She figured it would be in the basement. The only problem was that people were pouring out of the basement and there seemed to be a bit of a scuffle at the top of the stairs. Penny pushed her way through and got to the top of the train. The conductor was pushing three people out of the way who seemed to be trying to get back on the train.
“Let me down there! I need to kill the demon that tried to hurt my cats!” she told the conductor.
“No one goes down there!” said the conductor. He shoved Penny back. “Everyone has been evacuated and it’s not safe to go down there.”
“This is my house! Let me down there!” Penny yelled, trying to force her way past him to grab the controller. He shoved her back and she stumbled, falling backwards into the crowd. How dare he put his hands on me, she thought. Whoever caught her when she fell back, pushed her back up. She used that momentum to surge forward and punch the conductor in the face. The crowd Oooh-ed. Penny used the opportunity to snatch the controller from the conductors hand and hop into the train. She drove the train down the tracks and into the basement. The basement was eerily quiet. There was no more music and it was dark save for the flashing party lights and the glow from the arcade games.
Penny dropped the controller into the train car she was in and got out. She heard a scuffle coming from the entertainment center. She ran to where she heard the noise and saw two people. One was a man with pale skin and dark hair. He was on the ground, a pair of broken sunglasses on the ground beside him. Standing over him was another man. This one was tall and wore all black except for the red demon mask covering his face. There was an aura about him that sent chills of panic down Penny’s spine. She ignored it and stepped forward.
“Hey!” she shouted, causing both men to look at her. The man on the ground had yellow eyes, telling Penny that he was an android. The demon only had two black voids where his eyes should have been behind the mask. “Get away from him, it’s me you want!”
“And who are you?” a disembodied voice said. It sounded suspiciously smooth and normal.
“I’m Penny, and you tried to possess my cats,” she said. “No one messes with my cats!”
“Is that so?” the demon stepped over the man on the ground and approached Penny. Penny felt a jolt of uncertainty run through her, but then she thought of her cats and the disturbing Snapchats from that morning. She stood her ground, glaring at the demon, not having a plan in case she was overpowered, which was more likely than not.
The demon walked right up to her and crowded into her space. Penny could faintly see eyes through the holes in the mask but otherwise, there was no sign of him being a human. No breath, no footsteps, he was silent. Penny clenched her fists and decided to do what she had just done with the conductor at the top of the stairs. She punched the demon in the face with all her might.
Penny gasped as she heard her hand crack against the demon’s unmoving face. Pain shot up through her arm. The demon grabbed her shoulders and brought his face closer, tilting his head as if he were going in for a kiss. Penny knew that a kiss from him would mean bad things.
Before he could get any closer, something sounding like glass shattered over his head. His head turned all the way around. Behind the demon stood the android, the broken neck of a wine bottle in his hands. The android dropped the bottle neck and grabbed the demon’s face with both hands. In one swift motion, he pulled the demon off of Penny and flung him across the room. The demon hit the wall across the room and slid down to the ground.
“Are you alright?” the android asked, approaching Penny who was staring wide eyed at the demon who was slowly getting back up.
“Yes. Let’s kill this thing,” Penny growled, quickly getting over her shock.
“Agreed. I am Eli,” he said.
“Penny. How do you kill a demon?” she asked.
“We need to trap it and then banish it,” said Eli. “They are immortal beings, they cannot be killed.”
“Right. Is banishing it a permanent solution?”
“Yes.”
“Let’s do it.”
Penny and Eli stalked around both side of the demon. The demon’s head snapped between the two of them before settling on Eli. He lunged and tackled Eli to the ground. Eli struggled under him and the demon began his descent. Penny took the opportunity to run at the demon and kick it in the face with all her strength. He stumbled back, falling off of Eli. Eli jumped to his feet and grabbed the demon by the collar. He slammed the creature against the wall, leaving a dent.
“Penny, make a circle on the floor!” he said. Penny scrambled to find something to make a circle with. Then she saw the streamers hanging over everything. As she began gathering streamers, the demon kicked Eli square in the chest, making him fly back and crash through the wall into the bathroom. Eli pushed the pieces of ceramic from the destroyed toilet off of him and charged through the hole in the wall. He tried to get a hold on the demon as Penny laid the streamers on the ground in a circle.
“I’m ready!” said Penny.
“Help me get him into the circle!” Eli said, struggling with the demon. Penny ran to the scuffle and kicked the demon in the groin. It didn’t seem to have the effect she was hoping for but he still doubled over, giving the two of them the advantage. But as Eli tried to grapple him, he pushed the android out of the way and grabbed Penny around the neck with both hands, lifting her off the ground.
“Enough is enough! I will not be defeated by a little girl and her bag of gears!” the disembodied voice filled the basement. Penny struggled to gasp for breath and claw at his hands around her neck. Her feet kicked and she could feel her windpipe being crushed. A wire wrapped around the demon’s throat. Eli, who was holding the wire, pulled the demon back, making him stumble into the circle, where Eli yanked the demon to the ground, making him release his hold on Penny. Penny fell to the ground and pushed herself away from the monster.
Before the demon could do anything else, Eli lit a match and flicked it into the circle of streamers. The circle and the demon burst into flames. The demon seemed to sink into the ground, screaming and writhing. But the fire kept going.
“We need to go,” said Eli, pulling Penny to her feet and leading her to the train.
“We need to put that fire out!” said Penny.
“It’s hellfire, water won’t do anything. It will go out on its own, it won’t destroy anything. But we need to leave before it consumes us,” said Eli. The two of them ran to the train and they got into one of the cars. Penny fiddled with the controller but the train wouldn’t move.
“What’s wrong with it?” Penny yelled, feeling the heat from the fire get more intense.
“It’s steam powered. It’s out of water,” said Eli. “It looks like water can just be dumped into the engine up there.”
“The fish tank!” Penny shouted, pointing to the glowing fish tank across the room. “If we can get to it…”
“There are no life forms in there, right?”
“No. We haven’t had fish in there in years.”
Eli took off across the room, running past the flames which seemed to reach for him. He lifted the tank and hurried back to the train, the water sloshing out of the top. He got to the train and Penny tried to help him dump it over the engine. Steam poured out of the train engine and the machinery inside hissed and rumbled to life. Eli jumped into the car with Penny and they rode to the top of the stairs. The crowd of party goers cheered when they saw the train crest the stairs. Penny and Eli hopped out of the train car. Eli was immediately enclosed in a hug from three people at the front of the crowd. They fussed over him as the conductor angrily took the controller from Penny. She let him have it.
“Eli,” she called. Eli and his three friends looked at her. “Thanks for helping me down there. I couldn’t have done it without you.”
“And I would not have survived if you hadn’t stepped in,” said Eli. The woman next to him with dark curls cascading down her back wrote something down on a slip of paper and handed it to Penny. It was a phone number.
“Keep in touch with us, will you?” she said. “My name is Ava. Thank you for helping my friend.”
“Anytime Ava,” said Penny. “I have a feeling you four weren’t here for the party.”
“Call me and I’ll explain everything,” she said.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Penny wandered down to her basement the next morning, her hand wrapped tightly. The party had dispersed long ago. Everyone left shortly after they defeated the demon. That night, after everyone left, Penny had called Ava and she explained that her and her friends were part of a demon hunting club. They were still learning their trade, but they could use someone as spunky as Penny. She told Ava she would think about it.
The thought of defending cats everywhere appealed to her. She knew she would call back.
Penny passed the burned spot in the carpet and looked past it to see the big hole in the wall and the destroyed bathroom within. She wandered to the bar and kitchenette. There were streamers and empty cans and pizza boxes everywhere. A garbage bag overflowing with paper plates and solo cups sat against the cupboard. Dishes filled the sink.
But most importantly, her cats joined her downstairs, finally feeling safe from the demon that had lived down there. She hugged her cats, knowing that she not only avenged their honor, she also potentially saved their very lives. She then thought of all the other cats who were susceptible to being possessed by demons.
She would definitely call Ava back.
As she continued to ruminate over this, a flash of red flew past behind her…

The Final Portal
Everyone got out of their cars or whatever they were doing before this and stood at the brink of the final portal. It was huge and swirling with streaks of pink, blue, and green lightning, just like the first portal at the very beginning of this story. They were all about to walk through it.
“Guys, this is it,” said Dean. Cas took his hand and Sam put a hand on his shoulder.
“This is the portal back to real life,” said Paris. I guess the RFs were here. I mean why wouldn’t they be?
“Ready guys?” Ezri asked. Everyone took hands in a line but then a villain came out around from behind the portal. It was……………………..Voldemort! JJ saw this and her stomach dropped. There was only one reason this guy could be here.
“Hey what’s Voldy Moldy doing here?” Harry asked.
“Idk” Kevin shrugged.
“Everyone, we need to run!” JJ shouted in a desperate attempt to save a life.
“Why would we run?” asked Steve, taking Kirk’s hand. “This is the final portal. We’re about to escape the curse!”
“HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!” Voldy said. “You fools!”
Voldy raised his wand and began saying “Aveda Kedavrrrraaaaaa!!!1”
The green death curse slowly left the end of his wand in slow motion. It was headed straight for…..someone in the line! Who could it be? Who was going to die?
“NOOOOO!” JJ screamed. The death curse struck Steve right in the chest. Time sped up again. Steve fell to his knees, his eyes wide.
“STEEEEVEEEE!11!!!!!” Kirk screamed. “No, Steve!”
“Jimmy,” Steve gasped. He fell to the ground, but Kirk caught him and held him in his lap as Kirk knelt on the ground. “Jimmy…”
“I’m here Steve,” Kirk said, a tear falling from his eye and splashing onto Steve’s face. “Steve, I’m here.”
“And this time, Steve dies for real!” Voldy said with a sinister laugh. Then Voldy swirled his robes around him in a superfluous manner and disappeared.
“Jimmy, I…I,” Steve tried to speak.
“Shh, Steve, you don’t have to speak, I already know,” Kirk said, placing a gentle finger to Steve’s lips. Everyone crowded around to see the death scene.
“No, Jimmy, I…I have to tell you something,” Steve rasped.
“What is it baby? Tell me Cherry Pie,” Kirk said with a shaking voice. Tears streamed down his face.
“Jimmy…I…I…I love yhhhhhhh…..” but Steve never got the word “you” out because that word died with his very last breath. With that last breath, Steve closed his eyes and his head fell. Kirk’s tears were shooting out of his eyes like that death curse shot out of Voldy’s wand. Kirk could feel his heart break into a million billion tiny pieces.
“We need to go!” Dean said.
“Dean’s right! The portal will close if we don’t go!” Cas shouted. The lightning from the portal became louder and more obnoxious.
“No! I can’t leave him!” Kirk sobbed.
“Jimmy! Get yourself together! We need to get going!” Kara shouted.
“No…No I can’t…I can’t leave him…” Kirk sobbed. Dean and Sam grabbed Kirk and pulled him to his feet. But Kirk wouldn’t let go of Steve’s body. As Sam and Dean dragged Kirk through the portal, Kirk dragged Steve through the portal. Little did Kirk know, it wouldn’t matter, because on the other side of the portal, no one would remember a thing.

The Race (Race AU)
The engine of the red Aztec rumbled, vibrating the road and Dean’s butt through the leather seats of the Impala. The engine of Impala was rumbling too, vibrating Paris’ butt as well. Or it could be their own engines that were vibrating their own butts, but the world may never know for sure. Dean looked over at Paris in her car. Her shiny aviators glinted in the sun, smoke rising in front of her face from the cigarette which dangled from her lips. Her mouth twitched up in a smirk, causing a little bit of ash to fall from the end of the cig. She seemed to feel Dean looking at her, so she turned her head and looked at him from over the top of her sunglasses and winked.
Out on the road, Matt strutted in between the cars and stopped in front of them in the center of the road. He was looking hella fab in his pastel, high-waisted capris, white button down shirt, tucked in, and a bright blue necktie. His hair was swooped over in a fancy bouffant. The two cars revved their engines. Matt pulled the necktie off of his neck with an extravagant flick of the wrist, then raised it high in the air. In the very same second, Matt dropped his hands, throwing his head back, and the two cars sped past him, leaving him in a cloud of road dust. He didn’t move until the smoke cleared.
Dean gripped the steering wheel, his knuckles turning white. Get a grip, he told himself, it’s only the beginning of the race. The red Aztec sped alongside him, Paris looking as if this was just a Sunday drive for her. The engines under the polished hoods were pushed to their limits. Their sound echoed throughout the underpass, making the rumble sound more like thunder.
Little did they know, while they were racing, they were kicking up a sizable cloud of dust. Within the cloud of dust, there was a small storm brewing. A storm that, unbeknownst to the racers and spectators, was creating a portal. A portal to another dimension.
As the two cars made the turnaround and began their trek back, Dean saw something strange flickering in the cloud of dust. There were lights, blue and pink, flashing little bolts of lightning. And he was coming in fast. Too fast. He couldn’t slow down. He was going to run straight into the strange portal, and it looked like Paris was going to follow him in.
Before he could even figure out a coherent plan, the entire Impala was swallowed whole by the portal. The spectators watched in horror as both cars disappeared into thin air.

Soup Oprea Pt 5 (Soap Opera AU)
9 months down the road.
“Just breathe, you got this. You’re doing so good. Push, push. Oh, I can see his head. One more big push, he’s almost here.”
The Hospital room was filled with cries as Steve pushed out a beautiful baby boy.
“Let me hold him. I wanna hold him,” said Steve.
“One second. We’re just gonna clean him off first,” said the nurse. The nurse gently placed her hand on Steve’s shoulder and walked away. A couple seconds later another nurse came back with the baby. “Here he is. Do you have a name picked out yet?” Steve looked at his little angel, then to Jimmy.
“Let’s name him after you,” Steve said with tears running down his face.
“Are you sure? We can talk about this,” said Jimmy.
“No, I’m sure. I wanna name him after you. His name is James Tiberious Kirk Jr.,” Steve said looking into his lover’s eyes.
“Okay. I’ll go get the birth certificate,” said the nurse. The nurse left the room, leaving the happy couple alone with their baby. Later in the recovery room, everyone showed up. The room was poppin’. Paris, Ashley, and Matt were mixing virgin drinks. Kara and Kaia were mixing some sick beats. Gacé was making sure it wasn’t too poppin’. I mean, there was a baby there after all. Dean, Cas, Sam, and JJ were all dancing and everyone was taking turns holding the little bundle of joy. The doctors came in more than they should have; some came to party, others came to check on the dad and baby. But one kept coming back insisting on a DNA test.
“I just don’t understand why you want me to take a DNA test,” said Jimmy. Jimmy wouldn’t let them anywhere near him or his baby with a cotton swab.
“Sir, it’s not for you. It’s for your husband. I have a feeling that the baby isn’t his,” said the nurse.
“What do you mean it isn’t his? I watched him for 9 months grow, get sick, crave random foods, and watched that baby come out of him. So excuse me for being skeptical of your DNA test!” Jimmy had steam coming out of his ears.
“Jimmy, let’s just do it. What’s the worst that can happen?” asked Steve. Jimmy took a deep breath and finally agreed.
Three hours later, the doctor was back with the results. “So the results came back, and…” The doctor looked over his shoulder to see the couple’s entourage waiting for the news. “Are you sure you don’t want them to leave?”
“No, they’ll know sooner or later. Might as well find out from the doctor,” said Steve. The doctor looked super confused but told them anyway.
“Well, Steve, James isn’t your child,” said the doctor. Steve went from neutral to heart broken in .02 seconds.
“What do you mean? How is that possible?” Steve asked, his voice breaking.
“Well, Jimmy is the father, but someone else is the mother. See, while he was having sex with someone else, other DNA from another partner got attached to his member, and when he had intercourse with you and finished the deed, the egg was fertilized with his sperm and implanted into you, making you the surrogate,” the doctor explained. Steve looked to James then to Jimmy then to Ashley, who was making her way to the door.
“You! It’s yours! I can’t believe this is happening!” Steve started to get up from the bed ready to fight a bitch. Jimmy got in the middle of the two.
“No! Steve! It might not be hers,” said Jimmy.
“What do you mean by that?” Steve looked at him knowing he was lied to months ago.
“She’s not the only one from that night,” said Jimmy.
“What do you mean?” Steve said heart broken. Jimmy looked back at the group who was looking everywhere but the now unhappy couple. “All of them?”
“Not me,” Cas said.
“Or me,” Dean said.
“You know what I did that night,” Sam said, holding JJ’s hand. While they were all claiming their innocence, the rest of them were all starring each other down.
“Well that explains why we all felt weird for the past 9 months,” Ashley said, glaring at Paris, who was glaring at Gacé, who was glaring at Matt, who was glaring at Kara, who was glaring at Kaia.
“Wait a second? You all had sex that night?” Steve asked, perplexed. The doctor looked at his chart, back to the couple, then to the door and walked out.
“I can’t believe this! How could you do that?” Ashley asked.
“Shut up Ashley! You do this all the time, you have no right to be mad,” Paris snarled.
“I thought you two said you weren’t going to do things like that anymore!?” Matt shouted at Kara and Kaia.
“We did, but no one was supposed to find out about this! Right Paris?” Kaia said, lunging at Paris.
“Likewise!” Paris barked back. Gacé got in the way of Kaia.
“Hey, hey, hey. Don’t turn this back on her! You’re just as much in the wrong,” Gacé growled.
“Yeah, defend you and your girlfriend’s wrong-doings. That’s great,” Matt said and started for the door.
“Oh no you don’t,” Ashley and Kara stood in front of the door blocking his way. Then looked at each other with dirty looks.
“Bitch.”
“Slut.”
Out of the argument, an all-out brawl started between everyone. There was slapping, hair pulling, punching, and defenestration. It was insane. It was so insane, the rest of the group decided to join in. Soon, even other patients, doctors and nurses joined in. It was crazy. Out of nowhere, the hospital ceiling flew off and the sky became a dark sparkly blue. The wind picked up and began to swirl. No one seemed to notice this was happening around them, so they just kept fighting. They all started to lift off the ground, but just kept at it like cats and dogs. When they all crossed over the threshold, the sky went back to a light blue and they were all transported out of this universe, casting it back to its normal state.

Soup Oprea Pt 4 (Soap Opera AU)
Two weeks later
“Man, the last couple weeks have been crazy. It’s the best we’ve ever done really,” Paris said, counting the drawer money over and over again.
“I know. We might need to expand if it keeps up like this. The people next door are moving out at the end of the month. I’ll see about putting a down payment on the space,” Ashley said, flipping through paper work. “Do you guys feel weird? I’ve been feeling weird lately.” Paris and Matt looked at Ashley knowing what she was talking about.
“Yeah, I know what you mean. It’s like a pit in your stomach?” Paris said holding her hand over her lower abdomen.
“Yeah! Or like anxiety,” Matt said popping another Xanax. The other two looked at each other with a somewhat worried expression. Ding! All their phones went off at the same time.
Hey guys! I know it’s been a while and we only just caught up a couple weeks ago, but Jimmy and I are having a party and we would love it if you could join us. It’s June 5th and 4 o’clock. Hope you can make it XOXO
“Hmmm, sounds like fun. We could all use a night off from the bar. Let’s do it,” Ashley said walking out the door. “I’ll see you guys later. I gotta go see the magician.” She rolled her eyes and walked out the door. Ashley walked down the block and entered into a little deli. “Hey Kara. Can I get a cup of coffee and a chocolate muffin to go please?”
“No, but I can get you an actual breakfast and you can take your time to eat it like a normal person,” said Kara. Ashley looked at her watch and then at the clip board reminding her she had to go check out a magician.
“You know what? That sounds great. I really don’t want to go scout a magician, no matter how much people are raving about him. I’ll have the special please. Eggs over medium, wheat toast, bacon and pancakes instead of hashbrowns.”
“You got it,” Kara said with a wink. “I need two leaky sunrises, squealers, and silver dollars pronto! Oh, and wheat toast.”
Ashley just stared in complete confusion but then just went back to drinking her coffee.
“So why is there a hole in your wall?”
“Oh, Gacé threw a guy out of it a couple weeks ago,” Kara said, counting her tips for the morning.
“Nice. Listen. Have you and Kaia been feeling strange lately?” Ashley said taking a sip of coffee.
“Yeah. That’s actually why Kaia isn’t here today. She’s been getting sick lately. I told her I’d cover her tables and that she should stay home. Actually, I’ve been feeling weird since those dancers danced at the lounge.” Kara said leaning over the counter.
“Same. Hey, are you going to Steve’s party? Should be a hoot,” said Ashley.
“Oh yeah! Should be fun,” said Kara. Kara handed Ashley her food and the two talked the rest of the morning away.
June 5th 3:30pm
“I can’t believe you invited her! How could you be so inconsiderate. Ezri is going to be there!” said Dean.
“Hey, I really like this girl, and if I know Ezri, she’ll be happy for me. We’ve been friends since forever. This isn’t going to change anything, said Sam. Dean looked at Sam as if an alien had taken over his body.
“Cas, will you please talk some sense into him!” Dean said.
“I don’t really think this is any of our business Dean. As much as I don’t agree with it, there’s nothing we can do,” Cas said, looking at Dean, and then back to Sam. Knock, knock, knock.
“Good, JJ’s here. Let’s go,” Sam rushed to the door to greet his new girl. Dean and Cas followed behind knowing that this wasn’t going to end well.
June 5th 4:00 pm
The party was pumping at the Kirk/Proudfoot residence. Well not pumping but it was going. Everyone sat around eating finger foods, and sipping tea. Everyone was having a good time, getting to know each other or catching up. Ezri sat as far away from Sam and JJ as humanly possible. She sat still, except her leg which was shaking uncontrollably. Dean and Cas tried their hardest to distract her from what was happening across the room. Tink, tink, tink.
Everyone looked up to see Steve and Jimmy standing in front ready to make a toast.
“Thank you, to all of you for being here. This is a very special day for us. As some of you may know we had just gone through some tough stuff, but we decided to put all that behind us when we found out some very special news,” Jimmy said looking at Steve smiling from ear to ear. “Sweetie, why don’t you tell them? It’s your news.”
Steve grabbed Jimmy’s hand lovingly.
“Well what we gathered you all here for is to tell you…” Steve took a deep breath and giggled. “WE’RE PREGNANT!” Everyone sat in shock for a moment before gleefully cheering for the happy couple.
“No way! That’s great news!” Dean said hugging the happy couple.
“This is amazing!” Kaia said jumping up to be next in line.
“This calls for some sparkling cider,” Gacé said opening up the bottles on the counter. The party continued to go until the wee hours of the morning. There was too much joy to go to sleep. Well, all but Ezri, who excused herself early. She walked down the stairs to the street where Tom was waiting for her to take her home. They pulled up to the mansion and Tom got out of the car to open Ezri’s door.
“Miss,” He gestured for her to get out. She wiped her eyes one last time before taking the outstretched hand.
“I think I’m going to see my father before heading up to bed,” Ezri said.
“That won’t be possible. Your father is in a meeting,” Tom said, trying to lead her to her room.
“I’ll just pop my head in to say good night then,” Ezri then thought about what time it was. “Who is he in a meeting with?”
Tom avoided her eyes and said, “He’s just in a meeting.”
Ezri was not convinced. She ran around Tom straight to her father’s study, tearing through the door. Her eyes laid upon the last person she wanted to see.
“You?” Ezri felt all of the emotions she had felt the last couple days all rise back up. “What the hell is she doing here!? After what she did to me! How could you?!” Ezri lunged forward, planning to attack her, but was stopped by Tom.
“Ezri, you don’t understand. Her family is very powerful and to have them as allies is what I’ve been striving for,” said Saruman. JJ and Saruman looked at each other laughing.
“How did you get through that with a straight face?” JJ said, reaching for a tissue to wipe her eyes.
“What is this? What are you two talking about? Some one explain this to me now!” Ezri said. Ezri looked back and forth between the two of them waiting for answer. JJ gestured to Saruman to explain what was happening.
“Well, for starters, you’re not my daughter. We aren’t related in any way. I’m the monster who put you and your friends into all these alternate universes. This isn’t even real, this is all something I made up to punish your friends for stopping me. I’ve been working with JJ for some time now to get your boyfriend to fall for her. And now that you know, I’m going to have to get rid of you,” Saruman explained. He lifted the head of a little stone lion on his desk to reveal a button.
“What are you going to do? Kill me?” Ezri said, bracing herself for death.
“Oh no, much worse. I’m going to send you to the next universe, all alone until everyone else can figure out they aren’t supposed to be here,” Saruman said. He put his finger on the button, looked Ezri dead in the eyes and pressed the button. “Have fun.”
The door behind Ezri burst open with a cold wind. The door turned into a purple and black squiggly mess pulling Ezri into it. She tried everything to stop herself from going in but to no avail.
“I will find you in this next life, and I will kill you!” Ezri shouted. And with those words, Ezri was gone. JJ and Saruman laughed and held up a glass for a toast.

Soup Oprea Pt 3 (Soap Opera AU)
The band members all hooted and hollered out the windows making sure everyone around could see them. Dean opened up the sun roof and poked his head out, Sam was riffling through the mini fridge and popping open a bottle of champagne and pouring some for Ezri and himself. Ezri leaned in to Sam grabbing the side of his face and kissing his cheek. Jimmy and Steve were flipping through the radio stations until they heard *All I do is win by DJ KHALED.
“OOOOOOOOOH! All I do is win, win, win No matter what! Got money on my mind I can never get enough. And every time I step into the building everybody hands go up… And they stay there, And they stay there, and they stay there. Up down up down up!” They all shouted the song at the top of their lungs like it was their anthem. Dean was still hanging out the sunroof with Cas in front of him like Jack and Rose from Titanic. They made every minute in that limo count. They weren’t going to let this moment slip away. The limo pulled up to the club with a big crowd outside waiting to get in. They all stopped and stared waiting to see who would climb out. Everyone in the limo went silent, with excitement and nerves.
“Okay everyone. This is it,” Dean said breathing heavy.
“Wait!” Sam pulled Dean's hand away from the handle.
“What?”
“Let’s slow down. We should take this moment in. Who knows what’s going to happen. We need this moment to keep us grounded, to keep us humble. We need it for when we feel low, or when we feel like nothing is going right or fast enough.” The group looked at each other knowing he was right. “I love you guys, and no matter how big we get or if we fail, I’ll always love you guys.”
“But we’re not even playing tonight. How is this the beginning?” Dean said going to leave the limo.
“Look outside,” Ezri said pointing to the wall. The group looked out seeing a big poster with their faces on it. Cheesy inspirational soap opera music began to play. They stared out the window, gazing at the beauty in front of them.
“I think this calls for a group huddle,” Dean said pulling everyone close.
“We’ll meet you guys in there and give you a minute,” Jimmy said, grabbing Steve’s hand and scooting out the door.
“What are you talking about? You’re part of this too,” Cas said, pulling Steve back.
“No, Jimmy’s right. You guys need this moment,” Steve said getting out of Cas’ grip. “We’ll save you a seat.” Steve looked back at them with a big smile, knowing that this was just the beginning. The two walked up to the bouncer. He was tall and buff, much like the tall, buff man we ran into earlier. He stood there with his big arms crossed over his barreling chest. His black shirt was pressed tightly to his pecks, and the sleeves were cutting into his bicep. Steve looked at the little name tag and saw it read ‘Gacé’.
“Names?” Gacé said. Steve jolted and took a step behind Jimmy, who was puffing his own chest out trying to intimidate Gacé.
“I’m Jimmy Kirk, and this is Steve Proudfoot. We’re with ‘Supernatural Adrenaline’,” Jimmy said trying not to let the nervousness in his voice through. The bouncer looked them up and down and grabbed his clipboard flipping through the pages. Gacé occasionally kept glancing back to Steve as if he knew him, but couldn’t place him. Steve did the same. Jimmy caught onto the glances and wrapped his arm around Steve’s waist pulling him in close.
“Did you find us yet?” Jimmy said in a stern, overprotective voice. Gacé looked down at Jimmy, knowing damn well he could take him. He chuckled and put his hand on the red velvet rope.
“Yeah, yeah. I found your names. Have fun guys,” said Gacé. Jimmy pushed Steve past Gacé who was still staring at Steve, when finally a light bulb went off. “Wait? Steve? I knew you looked familiar! How have you been!?” Gacé pulled Steve back out shaking his hand. Steve looked back extremely confused before having his own light bulb moment.
“No way! It’s been too long! I’ve been great! This is Jimmy by the way. Jimmy this is Gacé. We went to highschool together,” Steve explained.
“Yeah. And don’t forget, we were on the best dance team in the world,” Gacé said as he playfully punched Steve on the arm and turned to look at Jimmy. “This guy can really bust a move. Hey. Everyone is inside. Make sure you say hi to them.” Steve looked confused again and then had another light bulb moment.
“The whole gang is in there?” Steve’s eyes lit up. “I haven’t seen them in years. Will you be in later?”
“Oh yeah. I’m just waiting for the other bouncer to show. He called saying he’d be a little late. Go in, I’ll come find you guys later.” Gacé patted Jimmy on the back as he walked past and went back to being a scary buffshell.
The camera follows the boys in, where they stop in the door way and the camera pans up to a big windowless space, lit with blue lights and different color laser lights dancing around the club. Beautiful people were lounging on over stuffed black leather sofas and chairs. Scantily clad waitresses were carrying trays of brightly colored drinks to the thirsty patrons. Aerialists were doing their tricks above the crowd, as lights flashed and music banged. Across the room, Paris, Ashley, and Matt were behind the bar making drinks, and doing what they do best, bossing people around.
“Hey guys! How’s it going?” Kara bounced up on a bar stool with Kaia closely behind her.
“Hey! You made it! You guys want the usual?” Ashley said already mixing a cocktail together. She shook the silver shaker right, then left, one handed then tossed it around her back to Paris who caught without looking. She did her magic, making the tumbler turn from silver to gold, then tossed it under her leg to Matt. He did a back flip over the tumbler and caught it while his back was to the ceiling, and continued doing handless backflips until he was at the end of the bar. He pulled out a couple glasses and poured the drinks like salt bae, and slid them down the bar where they stopped abruptly in front of Kaia and Kara.
“You guys still got it,” Kaia said picking up her drink and sipping.
“Alright. You guys ready?” Ashley asked polishing a glass with a towel.
“But Gacé isn’t here yet,” Matt said frantically looking around.
“Here I am! Travis just showed up for his shift. Let’s do this,” said Gacé. The six of them looked around at each other and nodded. Out of nowhere, six spot lights came down on them, the music changed to *Ain’t your mamma by Jlo. Paris, Ashley, Kara, and Kaia were all dressed in sparkly corsets and a choli top over their shoulders, and black pants. Matt and Gacé wore white button downs with a sequined black vest, and black pants. They broke out into an incredible dance. They were all in sync, not missing one step. They were like a fleet of dancing machines sent to earth to spread the beauty of dance to the world. And they did. They did flips and tricks, spins and leaps! They finished with a bang, literally. The dance floor was broken, fire was surrounding them. Smoke cleared to reveal the gang silhouetted by the fire. The only movement was the crowd standing to their feet, and cheering. They hooted and hollered until their voices were hoarse. The gang finally broke formation, smiling and waving at the crowd. Ashley took the mic and turned it on to make an announcement as the cleanup crew scrambled to fix the stage before the next act came on.
“How’s everyone doing tonight?!” The crowed went back to cheering, as they always do when the owners of the Cocktail Lounge perform. “That’s what I like to hear! Now settle down everyone, I have a couple things to say. As you can see, we are decorated for Arabian night. The amazing dancers at Rhythm Fusion Dance Company are here tonight to wow and amaze us with their tantalizing belly dance. So be sure to give them just as much applause as you gave us tonight. In a couple days, we will have a rising star on this stage, so don’t miss that. And as always, thank you for choosing The Cocktail Lounge for your night. Now everyone, enjoy your night, order drinks, and don’t forget to tip your waitress!” Ashley dropped the mic and the spot light went off. The crowd was silent for a moment before going back to its normal banging music and bustle.
Jimmy and Steve were sitting at a little circular table with three little black couches around it. Steve caught the rest of the band walking in and began to zealously wave his arms in the air.
“Hey guys, over here!” Steve shouted. He was standing at this point, pointing at the empty couches making sure they saw him in the sea of people.
“This place is really nice. Can you believe we actually get to play here?!” Dean said as giddy as a school boy on Christmas.
“I know. And it’s all thanks to this girl,” Sam said pulling Ezri down on a couch next to him and kissing her on the forehead. Ezri lit up.
“I told you. It was all my dad’s doing. I had nothing to do with this,” Ezri said. She picked up a drink menu and began to scan through it.
“No girl. You talked us up to someone who could get us here. So by that logic, you got us here. Drinks are on us tonight,” Cas said pulling out his credit card.
“Actually, all your drinks are on the house tonight. Talent always drinks for free,” Paris said pushing his hand back down toward his wallet. “My name is Paris, I’m the owner of The Cocktail Lounge.”
The band looked up at her as if she were an angel. No one knew what to say, they just gawked at her in awkward silence. Dean finally shook out if it and stood up.
“Thank you so much for letting us play. Your lounge is amazing, it’s always been a dream of ours to play here. We just can’t believe it’s finally happening,” Dean said shaking Paris’ hand.
“We’ll Ashley does a great job finding talent to perform here, and if you’re as good as she says you are then we’ll have a good night. Kara, our best waitress and other owner, is gonna take care of you. Enjoy your night,” said Paris as she walked away.
“So, what can I get you guys?” Kara said taking their orders.
Dean, Sam, Cas, Ezri, Jimmy, and Steve all danced and partied the night away. They had so many people come up to them and congratulate them on their success, and buying them shots and drinks. They were completely ready for the life ahead of them. They were singing to the songs playing and dancing like there was no tomorrow, when someone came up to their group handing only Sam a drink.
“Here hot stuff. Drink this before the next group comes on,” said the girl. Sam took the drink and before he could look the girl in the eye to say thank you, she was gone. He looked all over to see if he could try to pinpoint them, but was not successful. He shrugged and downed the drink, not thinking anything of it.
Steve and Jimmy were dancing alone in a corner, intertwined with each other, eyes locked and passions growing. “I need some water!” Steve shouted into Jimmy’s ear.
“Okay, be careful,” Jimmy said nibbling on Steve’s ear and smacking him on the butt as he walked away. Steve skipped a little with a big smile on his face.
“One water please,” Steve said jumping up on a bar stool. He could feel someone staring at him from the stool next to him. He glanced out of the corner of his eye to make sure. The two made eye contact and Steve quickly turned away.
“Steven?” The man asked in a thick southern drawl. “Steven Proudfoot? It’s me, Billy! Billy Ray Cyrus.” Steve turned back around at the familiar voice, his eyes lighting up meeting a second old friend for the night.
“No way! Oh my gosh! I can’t believe this. What has it been? 2, 3, maybe 4 years? How have you been?” Steve said giving Billy a hug.
“Oh, I’m better now that I ran into you. My heart has been so achy breaky after my man left. I’m writing a song about it. How about you come into the back room with me where it’s quiet and I’ll play it for you.” Billy was leaning in closer and closer, running his hand up and down Steve’s leg slowly getting closer and closer to his crotch. Steve was one too many drinks in to compute quickly, and just when he went to say something, Billy had pressed his lips to Steve’s. Just steps away was Jimmy, watching the whole time. Tears brimming in his eyes, he walked out into the street, freshly wet with rain.
Steve pushed Billy away from him and slapped him across the face. “No, Billy! I’m with Jimmy! I’m not jeopardizing what I have with him again, and not with you. Just stay away from me you horny hick!” Steve got up from the bar, grabbed a drink from a tray passing by, and threw it in Billy’s face. He ran away, back to the group he came with. “Hey, have you guys seen Jimmy? I can’t seem to find him.” Everyone looked at him thinking about the last place they saw him.
“I think I saw him run outside. He looked a little upset. Did you two have a fight?” Cas asked as Dean sucked on his neck. Steve’s eyes widened, his heart began to pound, and his stomach felt like it was going to fall out his butt. “Steve? You okay?” Cas pushed Dean off going to offer some support to his friend. Steve’s eyes filled with tears and he ran for the door. He had to find Jimmy so he could explain what happened, before it was too late. Just as the doors closed behind him he saw Jimmy in a tight embrace with Ashley. Steve backed up in disbelief, and ran home as the rain poured down.
Back inside the club, Dean, Sam, Ezri, and Cas all sat down confused over what had just happened. But before they could get to into it, the lights in the house went out. Smoke began to fill the stage, and the only sound you could hear, was a pair of Zils. Ting, ting, ting……. Ting, ting, ting. There was a drum roll and then a girl yipping. The crowd’s eyes were glued to the stage wondering what was going to happen. The stage lights flashed on, and on it were dancers dressed in beautiful costumes. The zils were being played by the front woman. She had vibrant red hair and piercing green eyes. Her makeup was on fleek just like her dance moves. The music picked up and the group danced furiously, making all the men, and some of the women, go crazy. They were incredible, everything was spot on, not a single thing out of place. They danced and danced making the patrons feel like they were in another land. Sam watched in awe, fixated on the one in the front. He couldn’t take his eyes of her, she was mesmerizing. Finally, the dancing stopped. The crowd hooted and hollered as the dancers took their bows. The front one went last, bending deep and coming back up to lock eyes with Sam.
Ashley came back up to the stage, a little later than usual to thank the performers, fixing her dress and looking slightly guilty. “How about another round of applause for Rhythm Fusion!” She waited for the applause to die down. “Thank you so much for being here tonight. You really do make our theme nights something special.” Ashley smiled at the dance group and got off the stage, heading back to the bar.
“Where did you sneak off to?” Kaia asked. She was cleaning glasses off the bar giving Ashley a knowing look.
“What do you mean? I was doing paper work in the office,” Ashley said avoiding Kaia’s eyes and wiping down the bar.
“I don’t think so,” Kaia chuckled. “Right when you went on the stage, I saw Paris go in there with Gacé and one of the guys that came with the band. The one with Steve I think,” Kaia gave her another knowing glance. “So? Where were you?”
Ashley put the rag back into the water bucket, took a deep breath, and looked back at Kaia.
“Okay, don’t judge me,” She took another deep breath. “The alley behind the bar.”
Kaia looked at Ashley with a long blank stare. “HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Out of all the places you could have done that and you choose the alley?! Oh my gosh! Okay, okay. Hooooo.” Kaia was bent over with laughter out of breath.
“Hey, I told you not to judge me,” Ashley said laughing with Kaia and flicking the wet rag at her.
“I know, I know. I’m sorry. That’s just the craziest thing I’ve ever heard,” Kaia picked up a tub of dishes and took it to the kitchen, laughing the whole way.
Out on the floor people were dancing, and talking, and drinking. The walls were shaking with the beat of the music, the ceiling was showering the crowd with confetti, the speakers were sending beats into the air. It was a magical experience, for some more so than others. Sam still couldn’t focus on anything other than that one amazing dancer. He scanned the crowed for her in hopes he would find her. Every time he thought he came close, the girl would turn around only to disappoint him.
“Hey. I’m gonna run to the bathroom. Watch my stuff,” said Ezri.
“Okay, sweetie,” said Sam. He watched as Ezri hurried off to the bathroom and then went back to his search.
“Hey, hot stuff. What did you think of the show?”
Sam turned around to see the dancer in front of him.
“It’s you. I can’t believe it. Oh my gosh, I can’t believe you’re even talking to me,” Sam said scratching the back of his head. The girl walked up to Sam, closing the gap between them.
“Well of course I would talk to you. You’re so hot,” she said. The girl put her hand around Sam’s waist sliding down to his rear. “I’m JJ by the way,” she said, giving him a firm squeeze. Sam felt so happy but guilty at the same time. He still knew he had an amazing girl that he didn’t ever want to hurt, but he couldn’t break whatever this spell was.
“I’m Sam. Were you the one who gave me that drink?” he asked, trying to back away.
“Yeah. Did you like it? It’s my own invention. Makes people fall in love,” JJ said, following Sam as he backed up. Sam found himself stumbling on a couch and plopping down. JJ started to climb on top of him, breathing lightly on his neck and then whispered in his ear something he couldn’t quite understand.
“Ahem.”
Sam looked over JJ’s shoulder to see Ezri, looking down on them in confusion and anger. “What is all this?”
“Oh. I am so sorry. I was dancing and I tripped. He was just on the unfortunate end of catching me,” JJ said. JJ got up, brushed herself off and hurried away. Ezri glared at JJ as she walked away, then looked back at Sam letting him know they were going to argue when they got home.
Back at the bar, the staff was falling behind.
“I need three Margaritas, two seven and sevens, six blue moons and a Cherry Pie!” Paris yelled out. “Where the hell is Matt!? He was supposed to be back from his break 10 minutes ago.”
“I’ll go look for him,” Ashley said just wanting to get away from the insanity. She looked everywhere with no luck. Just when she was about to give up she saw him coming in from the back door buttoning his shirt.
“Where have you be-“ Ashley stopped talking when she saw Jimmy following in only seconds later. “Oh, I see.”
“Shut up Ashley. You did the same thing!” Matt said raising his eyebrow. Ashley didn’t argue, and they went back to the bar in silence.
“There you are. It’s about damn time! Get the next drink order ready. I need to go find my other help. I swear, if I didn’t love you guys so much I would kick you all off the fucking payroll and run this place myself.” Paris said as she threw her hands in the air and disappeared around the corner. She leaned against the wall pulling out a cigarette and lighting it. She took a long drag and held it in for a minute before letting it out. The music went quiet for a minute as Ashley made a drink special announcement. During the silence Paris could hear some clattering in the mop cupboard. She flicked her cigarette and put her hand on the door knob. She opened the door slightly and peeked in to see Jimmy, with Kara and Kaia. Paris quickly shut the door and rushed back to the bar with her cigarette still in between her fingers.
The sun rose the next morning, clearing the fog from the streets and the dew off the grass. Jimmy was stumbling through the door of his apartment building and up the stairs. He made it to his door and pushed the key in. The door opened and he crashed in, knocking over a lamp and shattering the glass lamp shade.
“Really? That’s how you’re going to show up after what you did last night?” Steve was drinking his morning coffee looking out the big floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city. Jimmy slumped onto the counter holding his face in his hands looking for the right words to say.
“Jimmy, what I did was a mistake, and you didn’t give me any time to explain. Billy came onto me. I was too drunk to think clearly enough to stop him right away, but the whole time I knew it was wrong. What you did to me was out of spite, and anger. I can’t believe you would do that to me. And with her!? Why her?” Steve turned back around hiding his tears. These words only made him feel worse, because he knew Steve only knew about the one, not the other five he had been with that night. He walked over to the fridge, and poured himself some water.
“Steve, I know what I did last night was wrong. And I know I should have talked to you first, but when I saw that it was him it just brought back all those old feelings from years ago. I couldn’t handle it, and that’s why I did what I did. It doesn’t excuse what I did but you need to know why I did it. And I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry. Please tell me what I can do to make this up to you.” Jimmy placed his drink down and walked over to Steve. “Please, I’ll do anything.” Jimmy fell to his knees and hugged Steve’s legs. Steve looked down, tears streaming down his face. He knew Jimmy was sorry, but he couldn’t let him off that easy. Steve needed Jimmy to know that what he did hurt him.
“I just need to be left alone right now,” Steve said. Steve wiggled loose from Jimmy’s grasp, went back to their room and slammed the door. Jimmy stayed on his knees crying, knowing damn well he hurt the one person he loves most.
“Ezri! Will you listen to me? I don’t know that woman, and I don’t want her. I only want you!” Sam said trying to stop Ezri from packing her things.
“Oh yeah? Then why did I find you two together in the coat room? Explain that, asshole!” Ezri was frantically throwing clothes, shoes, and her other belongings into luggage.
“Ezri! It didn’t mean anything! I honestly don’t even know what you’re talking about! Ezri, stop! Please!” Sam grabbed her arms making her stop momentarily. “I love you. You know I wouldn’t do anything to hurt you. Please?” Ezri wiped the tears off her face trying to muster up something to say.
“Miss? Are you ready?” Tom, Saruman’s driver, poked his head into the room.
“Yes. I am.” Ezri grabbed her bags and stormed out the door. Sam chased after her trying to reason with her but ended up getting a door slammed in his face. He grabbed the door frame and slowly fell to the ground. Cas and Dean sat silently at the kitchen table, awkwardly staring at each other.
“Do you want anything, Sam?” Cas asked. Cas looked over at Dean who had about the same expression as Ezri did when she first caught JJ and Sam all over each other.
“I can’t believe you would do that man! She was a nice girl and you just disrespected her in the most awful way. I can’t even look at you right now,” Dean stood up so fast his chair fell back, and he stormed out of the apartment. Cas sat there for a few seconds before getting up to put the chair back. He turned around to his bedroom but before closing the door turned around and said, “You know I don’t agree with what you did, but I do know you were under the influence of something strong and dangerous. But that isn’t an excuse to do something stupid.” And that was that, Cas didn’t say another word. Sam sat there in a haze of emotion knowing that in that moment, he lost everything he had.

The sultry woman’s voice comes back on the T.V. and says, “And now back to ‘How can it be’”…
The scene changes to a man with a white beard and a black suit, riding in the back of a town car. “Turn right up here.” The car turned on command down a dark alley. The car drove down it for some time until it came to an opening. It was a courtyard filled with fake trees and shrubs, decorated with bright white Christmas lights. The car stopped in the middle of the courtyard before being lowered into the ground on some kind of lift. The elevator went down about 4 stories before coming to a stop. The driver got out of the car and opened the passenger side door. “Thank you, Tom. That will be all for today. Take the rest of the night off,” said the man in the suit to his driver.
“Yes sir. Thank you.”
The well-dressed man waited for Tom to be out of sight before opening a secret door located behind a portrait of Queen Latifa. He quickly climbed through, making a B-line for the liquor at the private bar. He poured himself a Brandy and slowly took a sip. “Would you like something, Dear?” he asked.
“Yes, please,” A woman said, coming into view. She pulled her hood down to reveal that she was… JJ! “I don’t have much time. I have places to be and a deal to get back to. What have you got for me?” JJ asked, taking the glass offered to her.
“My daughter has called to tell me that her boyfriend’s band will be playing at the club you’ll be at tonight. And to make matters better, they will be there tonight to check the place out,” said the man. JJ couldn’t help but smile at the news.
“Perfect. Anything else that could help?” asked JJ.
“Not at the moment, but I’ll keep you posted,” the man sat forward holding his glass out to JJ.
“Thank you Saruman. You have been most helpful,” JJ said leaning in and tapping the outstretched glass.
The camera pans down into blackness and back to Steve getting ready in a white bathroom. He’s looking into a full length mirror turning in every direction, patting down his nicest pair of plaid pajama pants. Jimmy walks in on him and leans against the door way, admiring the incredible looking man he loves.
“You look beautiful,” said Jimmy. Steve looked back at Jimmy looking happy with a hint of disgust.
“No I don’t. I look gross. Just go without me tonight. I don’t want to be seen like this,” Steve rushed past Jimmy almost knocking over the fake ficus tree covered in white lights. Jimmy grabbed Steve’s arm and pulled him into a big hug. “You’re not staying here all night by yourself. You look amazing, you always do. And you look fantastic in these pants.” Jimmy leaned in and nibbled on Steve’s bottom lip, making his face turn red.
“Oh stop. You have to say that. You’re my boyfriend,” Steve said getting out of Jimmy’s grasp.
“I do not have to say that. I say it because I mean it! Now come on. The guys are excited, they want to celebrate with us tonight,” Jimmy looked deep into Steve’s eyes with big puppy dog eyes until Steve finally gave in.
“Fine, I’ll go, but I won’t have a good time!” Steve said. Jimmy gave Steve a kiss.
“Great. Now let’s go! I don’t wanna miss anything,” said Jimmy. Together they ran out the door and scurried down the street.
The camera follows them until the Cocktail Lounge comes into view.
“Do you think it looks okay? I feel like it’s missing something,” Paris said. She was frantically pacing the entire length of the club moving, things two inches to the left only to come back a minute later to move it back.
“I think it could use more weirdly lit trees,” Ashley said hella sarcastically, pouring two glasses of wine. “Would you just sit down and rest for a minute. Here drink this.” Ashley stopped Paris in her tracks making her sit and drink. “The club is going to be open in an hour. Everything is going to be fine. The sound check was great, there weren’t any unsightly wardrobe malfunctions, and the members of Supernatural Adrenalin are going to be here tonight. It’s going to be a great night, okay?” Paris wasn’t so sure. “Come on, girl. It’s gonna be great.” She said with a big smile. Paris took a deep breath and smiled.
“I guess you’re right. Can’t really do anything about it now anyway. Cheers,” Paris said as she held up her glass to Ashley who returned the gesture. The camera zooms in on the two glasses filled with the red wine. The shot switches to six plastic champagne flutes filled with a light amber liquid.
“To one hell of a night!” Dean shouted as everyone clanked glasses.
“I can’t believe your time has finally come. You guys must be so excited,” Steve said taking a sip of his drink.
“You have no idea Steve. This is all Dean has been talking about since we formed the band in high school. And what do you know, it’s finally here,” Cas said. He came up to Dean and put his arm around his waist, pulling him close.
“It wouldn’t have been remotely possible if it wasn’t for this amazingly beautiful girl,” said Sam. Ezri looked over at Sam turning a light shade of pink.
“Oh stop. I just happened to be talking to my dad about you guys and he said he had a connection at the club, that’s it. I’m not that amazing,” Ezri said bashfully.
“Oh please, you are to amazing,” Jimmy said giving her a wink.
“We should hurry if we want to make it before the performance,” Dean said polishing off the rest of his glass. The rest of them followed his lead and put their coats on. They all filed out the door, Ezri being last to turning out the lights on the fake ficus tree and closing the door. They walked down to the street to find a limo sitting out front.
“Who is this for?” Sam asked silently hoping it was for them.
“It’s for the super stars,” someone said. They all looked to see Saruman rolling down the window of the limo. Ezri’s eyes lit up when she saw her father.
“Are you serious!?” Dean couldn’t contain his excitement. He ran right up to the door, knocking the door man out of the way, and jumping right over Saruman. “Thank you so much, sir. This is so amazing!”
“Well, you guys are going to have to start getting used to this. And this is a special night for everyone. So why not?” Saruman said smiling at the group as he got out of the limo. “Now get on in here! Go out and have a great time, you crazy kids.”
Ezri was smiling from ear to ear. She ran up to her dad, giving him a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. “Thank you dad! You’re the best,” she said. Saruman smiled down at his little girl and watched them pile into the limo. As the limo drove away he waved, but his happy excited face turned into one of pure evil as he knew what was to come.

*Cheesy soap opera music. A red scarf effect dances across the screen and a sensual lady’s voice captures your ears “And now back to ‘Just the way it is.’
“How could you say that?! He was a good man, better then you’ll ever be!” Said a lady, who is dressed just a little too fancy for the afternoon, who has obviously been crying as her mascara is running down her face.
“Listen Janice, it had to be done! He was trying to sabotage me. Trying to sabotage us and everything this family has done and will continue to do!” Janice sat silently sobbing. The man sitting across from her stood up and walked around the desk to comfort her. “Janice, I know you loved him, but it had to be done.” Janice pushed the man away and stormed out. “You don’t understand Daddy!” The door slams and the credits roll.
“And now, ‘How can it be?’” The sultry woman’s voice came back and the same scarf effect danced across the screen again, but this time in white.
The sun shined into an open bedroom window, with white curtains lightly swaying in the breeze. The camera pans across the bedroom over the golden four poster bed, dressed in white draping’s slightly opening with the breeze. The camera finds a small opening and sets its sights on a sleeping man, looking as though he had been up hours before getting himself ready then going back to sleep. Then, just as suddenly as we met him sleeping, he was awake. He sat up, did a big yawn and stretch, and hopped out of bed. Down stairs there is another man, wearing only a white wife beater and red silky boxers. His sturdy oiled thighs glistened in the morning sun light. His deep blue eyes were focused on the fruit he was cutting up, but was suddenly distracted when the sleeping man scampered down the stairs into the kitchen. “Good morning Cherry Pie. How did you sleep last night?” he asked as he leaned over the counter to kiss the man on the cheek.
“I slept wonderfully. You were right about those sheets, good thing I listened to you Jimmy,” Cherry pie said, reaching over to steal a piece of bacon off the counter. Jimmy gave him a look of a playful ‘how dare you’.
“Why would you do that Steve? Breakfast is ruined,” Jimmy said walking over to Steve and putting him in a bear hug from behind, kissing him.
“I’m so sorry. How can I ever live with myself?” Steve said giggling.
“I know how you can,” Jimmy said giving Steve ‘the look’. They began passionately kissing, and holding each other in a close embrace. The camera panned up and the scene changed to a classy lounge where a woman with short blond curly hair was doing inventory behind the bar.
“Oh my god! Why aren’t these numbers adding up! Matt! Come here!”
“What do you need, Boss?” Matt said carrying in a pallet of clean cups.
“Can you explain why these numbers aren’t adding up?” said the woman.
“Yeah, let me take a look,” Matt took the clipboard and went to work at the computer. “Aha! There it is. Ashley forgot to do her logs last night. They should be right now,” Matt said printing off a new copy. “And speak of the Devil.” A girl with curled purple hair came flittering down the stairs to the bar.
“Yes, tis I. What were you talking about?” Ashley said sitting down and pulling out her clip board from behind the bar.
“You forgot to log your stuff last night, so I was going nuts thinking someone stole from me,” The blond woman said playfully tapping Ashley on the head with her clip board.
“Oh shit, my bad. Last night was nuts. The band I booked for last night didn’t come in for their sound check on time, and when I called they said they would do it when they got there, which was ten minutes before they got here. And then the new girl you have didn’t know what she was doing so I had to clean up after her mess. Just a wild night.” Ashley said looking over the schedule for the night. “Oh, and Paris. The dancers for tonight want to know if we will be decorating for them or should they bring their own stuff?”
Paris, the blonde woman, looked around at the surroundings looking defeated. “Have them bring stuff. It’s been years since I’ve had anything for an Arabian themed night.”
“Okay. I’ll let them know.” Ashley said dialing the number for the dance studio, and getting up to leave. “I’ll see you guys tonight. I’m off to promote and get some new talent in here. Maybe a new crowd. Bye.”
“Bye Bae!” Matt said from under the counter.
The scene changes to a dimly light studio apartment, where a grungy looking band was practicing. “Alright guys, when this girl gets here we have to be the best we’ve ever been! This could be our big break. The Cocktail Lounge is where the greatest bands have been found. We can’t mess this up! Okay?!”
“Dean, we have nothing to worry about. The fact that their scout is even coming to see us means we have something. Don’t stress so much about it.”
“Sam, I know I shouldn’t, but this is big! How can you not stress out over this!” Dean said pacing the room with his guitar in his hands.
“Cas, will you please do something about him,” Sam said, looking to their drummer.
“Baby, we’re all nervous. This is a great thing. We’ve got this, we have nothing to worry about,” Cas said hugging Dean and kissing him on the neck. You could see the weight lift off of Dean’s shoulders as Cas held him. ~bzzzz~ They all jumped at the sound and stood still making no noise, staring at the speaker. ~bzzz bzzzz~
“Ezri, can you find out who it is?” asked Dean.
“Really? Okay,” A girl with copper hair jumped off the stool she was sitting on and went to the speaker. “Who is it?”
“My name is Ashley Sorenstien. I’m here from the Cocktail Lounge to hear ‘Supernatural Adrenalin’.”
“Come on up,” Ezri said buzzing Ashley in. “You guys ready?” All the guys took some deep breaths and nervously fiddled with their instruments.
~Knock, knock, knock~
Ezri gave the guys one last reassuring look and opened the door. “Hi, welcome. Come on in. My name is Ezri, I’m the band manager,” She said reaching her hand out to greet Ashley.
“Hi, I’m Ashley, I’m the talent agent for the Cocktail Lounge,” Ashley said shaking Ezri’s hand.
“Come on over and meet the guys. This is Dean Winchester, the lead guitarist and backup vocals. And over here we have Cas, the Angel of drums. And over here we have Sam Winchester, lead singer and bassist.” They all shook Ashley’s hand and nervously smiled at her.
“It’s nice to meet you all. I can’t wait to hear what you sound like. I mean I’ve heard your stuff before, I saw you guys a couple years ago at ‘Chi Chi’s’. The show was amazing,” Ashley said sort of fangirling a little. “So, just pretend like I’m not here and play something for me.” The guys looked at each other, whispered what they were going to play and with the click of the drumsticks they began to play. It was the most amazing 90’s grunge rock mix you had ever heard. Dean played a sick guitar solo, Cas played beats that were so fresh and old school at the same time you couldn’t help but bop along, and Sam’s voice was so beautiful you couldn’t help but get a little weak in the knees. When the song ended they all stood in their ending pose, the over head lights accentuating the sweat on their foreheads. Ashley was writing something down on her clip board, before speaking.
“Okay, okay, okay,” She whispered to herself while her pen scribbled away. When she finished, she looked up, smiling. “Well, congratulations. When are you guys available?” The band looked at each other with bright eyes and big smiles.
“We can go over that. The boys all look to excited to talk,” Ezri said pulling out her planner.
“Okay. Well, I’ll give you guys these to fill out. The top one is just a liability waiver. No fire, no explosions, you can’t sue if you get hurt. And the second one is about you guys, history of the band, what brought you together, why did you chose this music choice, blah, blah, blah. So fill those out and you can mail those to me or come in and drop them off at the Lounge,” Ashley handed them the papers and went to talk business with Ezri. “Alright, I think I have everything I need. Here’s my card with my hours in case you want to come by and drop those papers off. It’s always a good thing to get a look at where you’re performing so don’t be a stranger. Tonight we have Arabian night, with the Rhythm Fusion Belly Dancers. Hope to see you tonight,” Ashley said shaking all their hands one last time, and walking out the front door.
The scene changes to two girls sitting in a diner, arguing.
“No, this just won’t do! What were you thinking?”
“I’m sorry JJ. This is all I could do in the time you gave me.”
“Well, it needs to be better. This won’t work if things aren’t just right! Now go fix it!” JJ said glaring at her accomplice. When she finally left, JJ’s head fell into her hands, pressing her thumbs into her temples to try and get rid of her headache.
“Bad day?” JJ jumped and looked startled at the waitress.
“You could say that,” JJ said pushing her coffee cup toward the waitress.
“Well if it makes you feel any better, you’re not alone. Nothing seems to be going right for me today either,” Said the waitress filling up the cup.
“Getting some shitty tips?” JJ asked apologetically.
“That, orders getting screwed up, people trying to get free food. You name it, it’s happened,” The waitress said taking a deep breath.
“Kara! Can you come here, please?” someone yelled at the waitress from the back.
“And I’m training a new girl today,” Kara said mustering up a smile. “Coming!” Kara quickly ran to see what had happened. “What’s up, Kaia?” Kaia looked at Kara, and back at the customer she was helping.
“This ‘gentleman’ would like to send back his food,” Kaia said. She looked like she was about to fight someone. Kara looked at her a little confused but in a way that told Kaia she would take care of it.
“Ummm, sir? You cannot send back food that has been eaten,” Kara explained. The man looked at Kara with an annoyed look.
“What do you mean?! I didn’t like it, I don’t want to pay for it!” The man was slowly getting louder and his face was getting redder.
“Sir, I don’t think you understand. We can send back food and comp it if you only got a couple bites in. You polished off the plate. I cannot send back an empty plate back to the kitchen and comp your meal. I’m sorry sir,” Kara said in the most professional voice she could.
“FUCK THIS PLACE! AND FUCK YOU TWO! I ALWAYS HAVE TERRIBLE SERVICE WHEN I COME HERE!”
“Then you can go and never come back,” someone said, approaching the man from behind.
“Who the fuck are you?”
“Let’s just say, I’m a friend. Now go.” The tall buff man said rolling up his sleeves and cracking his knuckles.
“What are you gonna do about it, huh?” The man got up with a cocky smile on his face and pushed the buff guy. And without hesitation the buff guy punched the loud man in the face, making him fall to the ground. The buff guy picked up the man, flung him over his shoulder, and defenestrated him. It was quite the spectacle. “And don’t come back, asshole!” The buff guy came back adjusting his sleeves and shaking out his hand. “You two okay?”
“Yeah, we’re fine. Thanks Gacé,” Kara said handing plates to Kaia.
“No problem. Paris wants to know if you two will be at the club tonight. She’s going crazy trying to get this thing together so it would really mean a lot to her if you were there,” Gacé said with a smile.
“Of course we’ll be there. I never miss theme night at the club,” Kaia said placing dishes in the bus tub.
“Yeah. I love theme night. And there’s supposed to be this great dance group there. I’m not missing that!” Kara said excitedly.
“Awesome. Listen, I gotta get back to the club. I’ll let Paris know you’ll be there. See ya!” Gacé ran out the window that he had just previously broke, stepped over the guy he threw out of it, and disappeared around the corner.

The Cold Wonder (Fall Out 4 AU)
"So cold, why am I so cold?" Steve asked himself out loud.
He had awoken from the cryo-camber, unaware of his surroundings. He couldn’t remember what had happened before he woke up from his cryo-genic slumber. The hatch that held him captive released him with a hissing sound as and a sudden rush of warm, stale air hit his lungs. Steve exited his pod, feeling as if he hadn’t moved in a decade. Looking around at his surroundings, he had his suspicions of being underground in some kind of vault. You could say it was a hunch or some past knowledge resurfacing.
"Where the hell am I? What is this place? WHY CAN’T I REMEMBER ANYTING?"
The empty hall echoed with his cries of agony. He pulled himself together and slowly moved forward, or what he could only imagine was forward. As he walked through the hall of the assumed vault, he came across some skeletons.
"How long have I been frozen for?" He could only assume it had been years based on the decomposition of the multiple corpses he had come across.
He finally made it to a huge circular door. A control panel was to the left of the massive door. He looked around to try and figure out how to open it. He pushed a few buttons and suddenly an alarm started to go off. The door came alive and it hissed and squealed, for it hasn’t been open for centuries, unknown to Steve. He had been in his cryo slumber for much longer than he had predicted.
He made his way through the door to see an elevator. He walked onto the platform and hit a button and started to ascend towards more massive doors.
"Man, they did not want anyone to enter this place," he exclaimed. “Boy, I need to stop talking to myself.”
The doors above him cracked open and his face was saturated with sunlight and fresh air hit his face. He took a deep breath and the air filled his lungs, almost giving him a high. He got dizzy and nearly fell over.
The elevator finally reached the top and he stood there, taking in all of his new surroundings. Suddenly, he realized that this is not the world he had left behind, for it was some sort of overgrown wasteland, and nothing felt familiar. Steve started to walk off the platform, but as soon as his foot left the platform he fell, hurtling towards the bottom screeching, sparks flying, and then a huge crash sounded as he smashed into the bottom of the shaft!
"Holy fuck!" yelled Steve.
“OVER THERE!" something said with a horrible and deep voice.
Steve didn’t know what to do but he knew he had better think fast- it didn’t sound like it would be a pleasant time if was found. He quickly hid from sight in what seemed like the remains of a control room.
“ME HEARD SOUND CAME FROM OVER HERE!” the creature yelled.
The beast stood eight feet high and had green, rotting flesh. It almost looked human, but it was twice the size of Steve. It was wielding a club made of an iron pipe and wearing very poorly made armor from street signs. This beast was in a pack of five more equally as big and horrifying beasts.
“What you think happened, Grosh?” one of the followers said to the leader.
“I smell... I smell man flesh!” Grosh said. “Don’t matter what happen all matter is human nearby.”
“Must find human need snack,” one of the beasts exclaimed.
“Me hungry too. Think human went that way,” Grosh said.
The group of green humanoid monsters walked off to find Steve, but luckily for him, these monsters weren’t very smart and didn’t bother to look too closely for him.
“That was close,” Steve said out loud.
He looked around to find some kind of weapon to defend himself with in this new world that he had found himself in. He found a hunting knife but he knew that wasn’t going to protect him if those monstrosities came back.
He slowly exited the small room and into the dangerous world he realized he was in. He spotted a small town to the east of him down the hill he was on and started making his was towards it in the opposite direction of the mountains. The journey only took him a few minutes. It seemed really familiar to him and he didn’t know why. The town was empty though- the houses, or what was left of them, were abandoned long ago. He started to look around to find something useful, but his search only came up with a few berries, which may or may not be edible and a few nine millimeter rounds but no gun. He put the rounds in his pocket and tossed the berries, not wanting to risk death again today.
Steve made himself a makeshift hut and started a small fire for warmth, for night was approaching and he didn’t know what was going to await him in the dark. When he tried to sleep, every small noise woke him in fear of that being the last thing he would hear. He lied there in fear, motionless and hoping nothing would kill him in the night. He could only imagine the horror that awaited him in the dark; it seemed as if the night wouldn’t end.
Steve woke to the sounds of birds singing and a beautiful sunrise- he had made it to morning after the worst night of his life. His stomach growled and his head was pounding from lack of food and water.
“I need to find something to drink soon or I might die from something dumb like dehydration,” Steve said aloud, again.
Thankfully, there was a small creek nearby that he passed on his way to the town. He found himself a small container to boil some water in. His stomach growled again, but he knew he couldn’t do anything about it. He started to fortify his little hut, and by night fall it was something that might actually protect him, and he felt a little safer. He slept easier the next night with the small amount of protection.
CRASH!!!
Steve woke up, grabbing his knife and a small makeshift shield he had made the day before. He lit a torch and slowly exited his small hut. He looked around to see what the noise was.
“Wh- wh- who’s there?” Steve stuttered out with fear behind his voice.
“It’s only me,” a familiar voice rang out.
“Kirk… Kirk! Is that you?” Steve said, so relived it wasn’t death knocking at his doors again.
“It is,” Kirk said with a smirk.
They reunited with a hug and a peck on the lips.
“I’ve waited so long for you,” Kirk said.
“How long was I gone for?” Steve asked.
“310 years,” said Kirk.
“What? How? What happened?”
Steve had so many questions and Kirk only had a few answers for him.
“Enough with the questions Steve. You look starved! When’s the last time you ate?” Kirk asked.
“It’s been two days,” said Steve.
Kirk started a small fire and pulled out a small animal that looked similar to a squirrel and began to roast it over the fire.
“Won’t that attract someone?” Steve said fearing death, again.
“Don’t worry, there’s not much around here that’ll kill us,” said Kirk.
“But I saw some green monsters the other day,” said Steve.
“Super mutants? Around here? That’s almost unheard of. They mostly stay in the city. But don’t worry about them, I'll take care of them if they get near us.” Kirk pulled out a massive revolver and gave it a little kiss. “This is my problem solver right here baby.”
Steve blushed.
Then, Kirk reached into his bag and pulled out another pistol and handed it to Steve. It happened to be a nine millimeter semi-automatic pistol.
“For me, really?" Steve asked.
“Yeah, you’re gonna need to protect yourself in this world; tomorrow I’m going to teach you to shoot,” said Kirk. “Now let’s get some sleep.”
The next day they woke up to Grosh and his followers stalking around looking for the human from the other day.
"They round here somewhere," one of them exclaimed.
"I smell them they close by- they smell good," another said.
They got closer and closer to Kirk and Steve; Kirk already had his revolver at the ready.
"Well, I was gonna teach you to shoot today, but this’ll work instead," Kirk said with a smirk.
Steve pulled out his 9 mm, visibly shaking. He had no idea on how to use the pistol, but with a bit of luck, maybe, just maybe, he would get through this with his life.
"On the count of three, we will jump out of this hut and shoot anything that moves," Kirk told Steve with a small amount of confidence. “One... two… three!”
They jumped out and opened fire on the monstrosities, which began to fire back. Bullets flew through the air, whizzing by Steve's head. Kirk popped up and shot one of the mutants right between his eyes; the back of his head blew out, splattering his brains on the mutant behind him. This only angered them even more. They started to push forward towards Steve and Kirk. Kirk pulled out a grenade and hurled it towards the beasts. Three of them got lucky and jumped behind cover, only leaving one to be blown up. His legs were missing and Steve could hear his screams of pain that rang out for miles.
"OH GOD THE PAIN. SO MUCH PAIN AHHHH!” the mutant screamed out.
One of the other mutants pointed his gun at his head.
"DO IT, FUCKIN DO IT, PULL THE FUCKING TRIGGER!”
BANG.
"THAT’S IT!" Grosh yelled. "GIVE ME BIG BURTHA."
They pulled out a giant bazooka and Grosh loaded it and fired it before Steve and Kirk could even think about finding protection.
A white light was all Steve could see. Was he dead? Or had he found the portal, unaware and unknowing of where he was?

Convoy Pt 5 (Convoy AU)
The convoy traveled across New Mexico, never once running into a cop. No cop in their right mind was prepared to mess with a convoy that big. And it kept growing. Truckers from all over the south came and joined as they traveled across New Mexico and to Phoenix, Arizona, where Sam was being held. They not only beat Kevin’s previous record, they blew it out of the water. Their convoy stretched across over a mile of the dusty desert road.
It only took the convoy a few days before they reached Phoenix. They were back down to their original size of 23 truckers and one cat, and they were ready to do all they could to beat Saruman and free Sam. They parked their trucks in an abandoned parking lot a few blocks from the jailhouse and went about finding anything they could use as weapons. They knew that the jail would most likely be crawling with cops, who would most likely have guns. They needed to be prepared.
It didn’t take long before everyone was armed with baseball bats, knives, brass knuckles, chains, and whips. Everyone except for Kevin.
“You know I can’t come with you,” Kevin said to Dean, who was armed with a rusty blade. “I’m too old to fight.”
“I can’t leave you here alone. What if the cops find you?”
“Hey, Dean,” it was Billy Ray Cyrus. He and Nick had heard what was going on and decided to step in. “We’ll stay behind with him.”
“And besides, someone needs to watch the trucks,” said Nick.
“Are you sure?” Dean asked.
“Of course. Good luck with Saruman.”
“Thank you,” Dean said, then turned to the rest of the truckers. They gathered around Dean in a semicircle, armed and ready to fight.
“Ready Dean?” Cas asked.
“Yeah. Let’s do this.”
They reached the jailhouse at high noon. Saruman stood out front with Officer Kendall and Officer Malfoy, who was miraculously still alive after his car flipped over. A good number of other cops from all over the state had also gathered at the jailhouse. Any cop who had beef with any of the truckers was there, including the infamous Sherriff JJ of Flagstaff. It was their chance for revenge, their chance to set things right.
Dean stared Saruman down. A hawk called overhead. A tumbleweed blew past. The air was thick with tension.
Dean raised his knife. Saruman raised his gun.
And they charged.
The jailhouse was a bloodbath. Truckers and cops alike were cut and shot and thrown to the ground. Putin was the first to die. He was shot through the head by a cop, but it was okay, because no one really liked him.
Cas stayed close to Dean the entire time. It was their job to find Sam and get him out of the building. Only then would the fight end.
Dean and Cas fought their way past cops and through the twisting halls of the jail, looking for where Sam might be held. They found him near the very back of the jailhouse, sitting alone in his cell.
“Sammy!” Dean yelled when he saw his brother. He ran towards him, and grabbed onto the bars of his cell. “Sammy we’re here to get you. Where are the keys?”
Sam pointed to the opposite wall where a ring of keys was hanging. Cas grabbed them and threw them to Dean, who went to work on finding which key fit. The sound of the battle was growing stronger every second, and Dean knew it wouldn’t be long before someone showed up to try and stop them.
At last, the lock clicked open and Sam stepped out of the cell. “How do we get out?” he asked.
“Back this way, come on-“ Dean stopped in his tracks.
Sheriff Saruman stood, gun raised, blocking the only exit from that part of the jail. Sherriff JJ stood just behind him, holding her gun in a shaking hand. She had not been prepared for this big of a fight. Saruman let out a low laugh that echoed through the hall. “I’ve got you. I’ve FINALLY got you. There’s nowhere for you to run, no one to save you. This is your end, Rubber Duck.”
Saruman raised his gun and aimed it directly at Dean’s head. A gunshot rang out through the hall, but it wasn’t Saruman’s gun that made the noise.
Saruman fell to the ground, blood pouring from the bullet hole in the back of his head, his gun clattering to the ground.
Dean, Sam, and Cas looked up from Saruman’s body to see Charlie standing at the end of the hall, gun in hand.
“Charlie?” Dean asked, completely in shock.
“Hey Duck,” she said, smiling. “Miss me?”
JJ let out a scream, then ran past the truckers, going deeper into the jailhouse.
Dean, Sam, and Cas ran down the hall to meet Charlie.
“What are you doing here?” Sam asked.
“I thought you left for Mexico,” Cas added.
“I did,” Charlie said. “I was leaving because I wanted to find a stable life and find family and friends. But halfway to the border I realized something. I already have a family. You guys, all the truckers fighting right now, well, you are my family. I just wish it hadn’t taken so long for me to realize that. So, if you’ll accept me, I’d love to be a part of your convoy.”
Dean smiled. “Welcome home, Widow Woman.”
The causalities were heavy on both sides. Many cops were killed or injured. The truckers also suffered heavy losses. Putin, Voldemort, and Tyrone had all died in battle. Most of the Rhythm Fusions suffered bad injuries, including the governor, who, despite having a broken leg, claimed she hadn’t felt so alive in a long time. Sean and Nathan both suffered head injuries, and Ashley’s arm was still out of its socket. Colin Creevey, however, was still jumping around, challenging everyone and everything to fight him. He never seemed to run out of energy.
After cleaning up wounds and putting limbs back into place, the truckers were ready to move out. Sam had received news the Ezri had given birth to a boy, and they were both waiting for him back at their home in Dallas. Sam set out right away with Jimmy, Steve, and the Rhythm Fusions in tow as back up. He was finally going home to see his wife and son.
“Dean, why aren’t you going with him?” Kevin had asked. “I thought you wanted to be with him.”
“I do,” he answered. “But Sam and I talked about this. I’m going to meet him in Dallas, but there’s something I need to do first. Will you join Cas and me for one last trip across New Mexico?”
Kevin smiled. “I’d be honored.”
Dean and Cas led Kevin down the highway and to the diner they first encountered Charlie in. They parked outside and got out of their trucks.
“Dean? Cas? What’re we doing here?” Kevin asked, his confusion showing across his face.
“Kevin, if there is one thing I’ve learned from all of this, it’s that family is the most important thing in the world,” Dean said. “A very wise person once told me that family don’t end with blood. I have Sam, yes, but I also have Cas and Charlie. Hell, even the governor found her family again with the Rhythm Fusions through this journey. Everyone has found their family, everyone except you. You believe that your family disappeared when Harry died. You never saw James again, and it broke your heart. Well, I did some digging and, well, why don’t you go inside?” Dean asked, gesturing to the diner.
Kevin stared at Dean in confusion for a moment before turning to walk inside the diner, James’s Glide-In.
“No!” yelled the man behind the counter when they stepped inside. “I don’t serve truckers here anymore, you caused too much trouble for me last… last…” his anger disappeared as he stared at Kevin, confusion and recognition appearing on his face. “Uncle- Uncle Kev?” he said, barely in a whisper. He sounded like he couldn’t believe his own eyes.
Kevin’s eyes filled with tears. “James? Is it really you?”
James walked out from around the counter, and stood in front of Kevin. “I- I thought you died when Harry died. You’re dead.”
“No, I’m- I’m not. I’m here, James. I’m here.”
James hesitated before grabbing Kevin into a hug, tears streaming down his face. “I’ve missed you, so, so much. Oh my God, it’s you.”
“It’s me, it’s me. I’m here. And I’m never leaving you again.”
Outside, a dark purple cloud appeared above the diner. It expanded until it covered all of the south, then sucked Dean, Cas, Sam, Kevin, and many others out of their world and into the next.
