this girl just got” proposed” to by her bf in the restaurant i’m in, obviously the whole room went silent and people were giddy and stuff, and she flat out said “no. i’m breaking up with you”

the guy was like “oh ok... I wasn’t proposing cause I knew you wanted to break up I’m asking if this is ok for your sister”

girl went “oh really? well then” * brings out phone * I hope this is ok too and shows the entire room a picture of her and another girl kissing and went  “is this ok for your sister?”

My Indian - American Niece

so listen here

I wanna tell you all about my wonderful Indian - American niece so that we get some brown girl representation that isn’t “oh she’s such a hot-headed psychotic borderline sociopath” (looking at you Never Have I Ever)

She’s from West Bengal in India, which means that she’s a Bengali. Now, here are some things that I love about Bengalis

1) They love sleeping 2) They love eating 3) Everyone has an afternoon nap time 4) People are generally friendly and outings and dinners are often 5) They’re kinda grumpy in summers cuz it’s like 120 f  degrees there 6) But they’re rlly lovely ppl who remind me of hobbits a lot :D

Anyways, she doesn’t really share all these traits. She’s skinny, has diagnosed insomnia (poor thing), and is more of an introvert. Despite this, she’s in a strong friend group, is top of her class, is a swimmer, a basketball player, a football player, a jump - roper, a skater and a hiker. She’s always the lead singer/dancer, and the teachers always argue about which one she’ll take part in. She’s been class prefect for 3 consecutive years now, and has an overall 98% in studies. Doesn’t really participate in class but is excellent at answering questions. Her personal tutor is teaching her stuff 3+ years ahead because she’s getting bored in her regular classes. Also, we suspect she has ADHD.

Even with all of these things she’s got a lot of insecurites. Um she lost her dad in 2020, and the first person she told it to during grieving instead started bullying her for it. That same person is going to be in her class for grade 9 :((

When she told it to her teacher, her teacher took the student’s side. Why? Because the student was her favorite. Her math teacher bullied her in class for being quiet to the point where she broke down in class. The next day in class, she was ignored by all her teachers:((

A boy in class kept interrupting her while she was speaking. She lost it and yelled at him (which was wrong ik) but after that the boy was the one always called upon and not her, despite the fact that everyone had told him to shut up.

She’s villainized in class for how quiet she is, so every little thing is scrutinized till she breaks. And when she breaks, they ignore her. It’s a cruel game they’re playing.

Anyways, despite all this, she’s still sticking with her friend group and has discovered a love for baking <33

like. imo, piper and leo """had""" the right to distrust nico since they didn't know the guy; both jason and frank did know him and did knew nico had never acted in a way that could possibly be seen as harmful to camp jupiter; even reyna, the person who wanted the most to protect cj recongnized that nico was protecting it too by keeping secret

hazel obviously loved her bro and this isn't open to discussion.

but percabeth... they knew nico from the very beginning. they were there when nico subjugated minos to help them and rachel; they were there when nico invoked a stone to delay chronos and various skeletons to defend chb on the invasion; they were there when nico showed up at manhattan with an army of corpses and three fucking gods to help everyone

it almost ooc for me the way they act towards nico because i remember an annabeth's quote where she says how she understands nico bc they both were orphans without anyone supports at a young age, and even if percy ressents nico bc of hades' lie, he's also a forgiving person who chose to be the prophecy's child to protect nico

Update: I told my mom to read the book and yesterday night she was like “WTF MAY YOU DIDN’T TELL ME THEY WERE GAY”

OMG,  are they friends?

So my mom caught me crying over the Song of Achilles book today. She comes up and she’s like “May, why’re you crying?”

And I’m ugly crying like “Achilles wished for their ashes to be mixed together and he slept with Patroclus’ corpse! ”

And with the MOST bewildered expression ever she goes “Are they good friends?”

It’s been an hour and I cannot stop cackling
