Barbie and Isla reuniting was so anti-climatic. She had such a strong bond with her in Dolphin Magic, and it was just like on hug as they met again and then no more great interactions honestly. They had great chemistry which is why so many people shipped them. Honestly Brooklyn is cool but she's making Barbie neglect all her old friends.

Fallon and Hadley from Mermaid Tale have had a thing for each other since they first met and are dating and Merliah always knew it and wasn't at all surprised when she found out they were going out. You cannot convince me otherwise.

After rewatching Dolphin Magic, I developed the headcanon that Zuma is a gemstone dolphin (or at least a descendant of one) who got separated from her pod when she was young. Currently, it’s my excuse for why there aren’t any other dolphins at all in Oceana- she got lost and ended up there.

I really don't understand Genevieve x Derek's wedding. Sure, they had crushes on each other, and they danced together, but that was it. They didn't even confess their feelings! And then they get married? They're one of the worst canon couples in my opinion. I guess it's for wedding merchandise but there was only one wedding doll.

Only now have I realized most of my cartoon crushes when I was young were Barbie characters. I used to have a mega crush on Nalu, Antonio, Julian, Derek, and Captain Candy.

People like to mock Merliah for wanting to do her surf meet instead of attending her mother’s ceremony, but that’s a little unfair to her. She’s lived her entire life on land, dedicating herself to her life there and genuinely working hard to reach the point she’s in in her surfing career. Then, all of a sudden, she finds that she abruptly has a massive responsibility to an ENITR KINGDOM that requires her to sacrifice progress in the surfing career she’s worked so hard for! And she’s only 17!

It bothers me that the Diamond Castle muses are Greek and wear togas but the rest of the movie is just "Europe". Why couldn't they make everything about it based on Ancient Greek culture. That would be really cool!

I absolutely ADORE Blair’s coronation dress from Princess Charm School. The gem bodice is EVERYTHING and she was the only Barbie doll I got as a child.

I really liked Big City, Big Dreams, but I can’t help but wonder why the heck fencing of al things was included in the curriculum for a performing arts school. I don’t even think the fencing became plot relevant, it was sorta just there.

The Barbie as Rapunzel theme song also known as One Star makes me feel so much hope and confidence. You know, the theme song when she's painting her dresses.

I’ve relatively enjoyed the later Barbie movies, but one thing that I think they’ve been failing in is villains. They either have ambitions that are WAY too low or they’re painfully incompetent. The latest villain was an activities director who stuffed stuffed animals in a machine because he hates his job for unspecified reasons. I don’t think they even said his name ONCE in the entire movie!

There are some Barbie movies (like Princess Charm School, Mariposa, and Princess Power) that I wish had tv show sequels. They still have so much story potential!

I would love a Princess Charm School movie! It must include lots of Portia! And maybe a Fairytopia series in general that's kinda similar to Dreamtopia, with Elina and Mariposa and Catania and all the gaurdians and Nori, and maybe even include Lumina in mermaid episodes.

Raquelle has always confused me. She is usually Asian in the dolls, but in all cartoon media she's white. Barbie Diaries has her as a redhead and Barbie Fashion Fairytale and Fairy Secret have her with dark hair and blue eyes. Life in the Dreamhouse has her looking more like a slightly tanned white girl. I don't understand why they didn't really try to make her Asian looking, especially when you consider other Asians actually look Asian.

Mattel definitely made a good choice for retiring her for Renee, who is consistently a Chinese girl.
