look, i get that stephanie didn’t want to know anything about her baby because it would make it that much worse that she gave them up,,, but it’s fake news that bruce didn’t immediately adopt the baby and as he’s cradling the small bundle in his arms and looking deadpan at steph he tells her he’s not letting her miss out on her baby growing up like he did with damian

Jason’s relationships with his siblings
Dick was the older sibling Jason looked up to and admired, but Dick treated him with passive-aggressive contempt and hostility. Their relationship was a contest over who was the better Robin and son, if one-sided on Jason’s part, though he just wanted to prove that he could be as good as (and maybe even better than) Dick, but it really was an impossible goal. Even when he came back, Dick and Jason’s relationship struggled to be. Dick was stuck with the hauntings of his past with Jason and it clouded his judgement, not to include Jason’s murder spree. All it did was confuse Dick. He wanted his little brother, yes, but he didn’t want the murderer he’d become. Jason and Dick have a rough relationship because it’s like they can’t move on. They are trying, to their credit, and it is slowly working, but it’s still a work in progress. It’s slow and a ton of effort, but progress.
Tim was Jason’s replacement; the son and Robin Jason never felt he got to be. Whereas for Tim, Jason was his Robin, his idol, and the Robin who died on the job. There was a lot of jealousy and anger on Jason’s end, and it manifested violently, because of both Talia’s manipulation and the Lazarus Pit’s effects. So, naturally, their relationship was going to start off rough because of it. Their first interaction had Jason attacking Tim and his Teen Titans in their home base, Jason wiping the floor with all of them then leaving. Because their first interaction involved Jason beating him and his team basically half to death, Jason and Tim got off on the very wrong foot. From what I (Sep) remember, their interactions ended after that and Jason stayed far away from them, until a few other comics came out and Tim is seen helping Jason out--even saying he gets all of Jason's hostility at one point. From there their brotherhood increased and Jason interacts best with Tim (even saying Tim is the only member of his family that he can tolerate) even now. They're good brothers to each other.
Cassandra was never going to get along with Jason, their first interaction aside. She was raised to kill; she was trained to be an instrument of death. Jason, though. He had a choice. He made the conscious decision to kill and even believes it's the right thing to do. He and Cassandra wouldn't get along from that simple belief alone. The first time they met involved a fight.
Damian was very entitled when he first showed up, even if Jason didn't interact with him until later on. Still, the kid insulted him extremely harshly (and said other things I can't remember) to beat Jason in a fight and prove that he was the "best Robin". I don't know much about the rest of their interactions, but I know that Jason doesn't have the worst relationship possible with the kid (ignoring whatever happened between him and Damian in the Teen Titans comics).
Now Duke, though. He met Jason when Jason was who he is. He met the Red Hood Jason--the one with his own moral code and way of doing things. He was just Jason. Duke treated him the way he did anyone else. Jason was just Jason, not Robin Jason, no hero worship, not the cold murderer, not.competition... Just someone to learn a bit from. Maybe a brother.

@robin-decoded thank you so much for posting the credit! I couldn’t remember who I originally saw the corgi post from and on top of it, I forgot to ask if anyone could tell me so I could properly credit, so that’s my bad.
And while we’re on the subject of giving credit, damian’s cats were originally thought up by @kurawastaken and she has some lovely headcanons and art posted about them that people should go check out!
And there’s more people to shout out! @nxxttime has a few great fics about tim’s various pets, how he acquired them, and jason’s reaction to having a pitbull named after him. They’re really great and I highly recommend!
The Ever Expanding List of the Batfam’s Pets
Tim: The first pet he gets is a beta fish because he was bored and insisted that he absolutely needed it. He names it Bruce. Next, Tim adopts a Siamese cat and names him Bucket, because he can. He adopts three dogs all at once from a shelter, Jay is a formerly abused pitbull that he couldn’t just leave in the shelter, and Ham and Cheddar are two little corgi puppies he and Bruce found while gathering evidence in an apartment one night. Tim’s most recent four-legged addition is a Persian kitten affectionately named Missile Launcher.
Jason: Jason has two high-maintenance dogs. One is a Sheltland Sheepdog, aptly named Princess, that he adopts as a puppy because he immediately fell in love with her happy hopping. The other dog is a Windhound who does not yet have a name, so if anyone wants to offer some suggestions that would be fantastic.
Dick: Upon seeing all of his brothers’ pets, he knew he had to adopt at least one of his own. However, Dick being Dick, he couldn’t just get a cat or a dog and call it a day, he wanted a unique pet to perfectly fit his own personality. This is why Dick has two ferrets. They’re playful, affectionate, and social pets and they’re just so goshdarn cute! He names them Superman and Wonder Woman, and when he introduces them to Clark and Diana by holding the ferrets just below the arms and flinging them towards Clark and Diana’s faces, two of the most powerful superheroes in existence weep a little bit.
Damian: Dami has all of his canon pets, of course, there is nothing anyone could offer that would convince me to give up Ace, Batcow, or the turkey. But, he also has three additional cats, Alfred, Bruce, and Ric.
Duke: Duke, my precious son, has two hamsters and a dog. Duke prefers small dogs, and gets himself a tan and white beagle which he names Sandy. Duke’s hamsters are the greatest present he has ever received from anyone ever. Jason was, allegedly, passing by a pet store after doing some grocery shopping for Alfred when he saw two little hamsters in the window that immediately made him think of Duke. Duke teared up at the sight of the hamsters in Jason’s outstretched hands. He named one of them Red Hood and the other Signal, because just like he and Jason, those hamsters are best friends.
Cass: Cass has a chocolate lab service dog named Waffle, courtesy of Stephanie Brown. Waffle’s main duties are to be protective and comforting for her. He sleeps on her bed with her, and whenever she has nightmares or struggles to fall asleep, he nudges his head into the crook of her neck and curls himself up next to her. Waffle also understands ASL and he’s more likely to obey commands when given that way instead of spoken language.
