DNA . My parents wedding anniversary is today and to be honest, I'm not sure how to feel. Been contemplating it all day. My mother and father are romantically utterly night and day, and growing up with such conflict and contradictions such as the outer look of my race, growing up with an infinite amount of hardened emotions, & me wanting to rule with love but growing up seeing my parents ruling with fear & control (I can remember looking helplessly at homeless men and women saddened by the fact I knew my parents wouldn't give me money to help them). There were so many things to follow, with little to no room for self expression, visual or verbal. I had to learn love through experience, not example. It was rough paving my own way. And now I can't stop. I call my self a Pretend Mother. I love to love, to help, and to listen. It keeps me empathetic, humble, and connected. With all of this said, I still have a lot to learn. But photography teaches me patience, art teaches me courage and self expression, my tattoos tell my story. This bundle of a Hydrangea is the purest form of my system. And next Spring/Summer I will finally allow myself to get my scars covered . I hope that I give you courage, faith, and/or inspiration. To be yourself and to give yourself time, be patient with your growth. Don't compare yourself.
