having writing issues w doing a fic request rn so here's another request I had that wasn't particular about format, getting back into writing after a break is so hard

Characters: Kalim Al Asim, Jamil Viper, Idia Shroud, Ortho Shroud Non-prefect or prefect reader, platonic only for Othro, platonic or romantic for the others, bulleted list

Kalim Al Asim

Kalim is absolutely one of the sweetest men in the world and he cares about everyone a lot, especially you dear reader!

The problem is Kalim's love language is gift giving so he shows his care for you by lavishing you with gifts

He overheard you talking about something you need? oh, it's magically in your dorm. saw something at a market that made him think of you? oh, it's already bought along with the 10 other things he saw that day.

Reign him in on the gifts please, he doesn't know when to stop and you’re gonna run out of space quick asf.

Gift-giving isn't the only way Kalim shows he cares for you though, he also constantly likes to check up on you throughout the day/week

He loves to text you throughout the day with little affirmations and quick messages about how his day is going and encourages you to do the same!

Kalim also encourages talking face-to-face too, during those times he tries his best not to speak until you're done and tries not to give advice unless asked

Tries is the keyword here

He's very eager to help you and also isn't the best with his words so sometimes it can cause some tension between you two. It usually doesn't last long however and Kalim is getting better at watching his actions and words, especially after Jamil's over blot!!

When it comes to being protective over you, Kalim definitely is always defending you if he hears someone speaking down on you! He's always ready to speak about your character :)! You're a jewel to him and he needs everyone to understand that.

Jamil Viper

Jamil shows he cares in subtle ways: he’ll drop by with food and disappear or text you when he knows you’re up studying late to go to sleep.

Likes to leave you little notes around in odd places also, just so you know he’s thinking of you.

You’ll find them all (eventually).

He’s definitely a more private person, so don’t expect a lot of grandeur gestures but that doesn’t mean he isn’t doing special things for you!

He’s a busy guy but whenever he has time the focus is on you—whether that be a “date” or just simply hanging around.

Speaking of him being busy, he’s protective of your time together! He doesn’t like to be bothered by others when you two are alone.

Big listener whenever you need to rant, or just anytime you talk tbh. He’s always paying attention to you!

Also gives pretty solid advice when asked! He’s straight to the point and blunt. Not afraid to call you out if you’re in the wrong too 🥱

Jamil really isn’t a unsolicited advice giver (he hates that a lot) but if he notices you’re really struggling with something and hasn’t come to him, he might casually drop something vague in conversation to show he’s aware and encourage you.

I think his love languages are definitely quality time and acts of service <333

He also sends you stuff in game. Rare items, money, skins whatever…he’s like a gaming sugar daddy???

Idia will act like he doesn’t care about you but he cares a lot he just shows it in his own idia way.

He isn’t really super protective of you in irl situations because he rarely leaves his dungeon room but in any games/forums/etc he got ya.

Speaking of never really leaving his room, if you ask enough about going somewhere with him sometimes he’ll bite and go along.

Love language wise, I think Idia is another big gift giver and quality time (whether it’s a few seconds of your time or hours, he treasures the time!)

Ortho Shroud

Ortho is 100% one of the best people to have as a friend !!!

He’s constantly checking in on you, hanging out when you both have free time and going off on fun side quest lol

You both often find comfort in just talking and listening to each others respective struggles

Definitely quality time is one of his top love languages, he just loves spending time and being around ya

Doesnt mind if other things get in the way of like a planned hangout or something either, he’ll just shrug and yall reschedule

If you’re struggling he gives a lot of advice based on things he’s researched and looked up so often very solid advice!

A mini scenario to get the writers block outta me ://

It wasn't often that you got to bake. Being busy with the overblots, school work, and Grim usually took most of your time. That left you only with the nights. The deep darkness that relaxed your spirit and feelings. It was the only time you could truly let go and be yourself.

You wiped some frosting off your face, taking in the sight of the beautiful chocolate cake you had just created with a smile.

What you didn't expect however, in the middle of your peaceful night, was for a certain first year to walk into Ramshackle...

“Mmm! That looks good!” A cheerful voice suddenly spoke from behind, snatching away the fork from your hand. A sigh left your lips, You didn’t even need to turn to know who was behind you. It hadn’t been the first time he’d interrupted you, and you’d doubted it’d be the last. “Ace. give me back my cake."

The heartslaybul boy just laughed, bringing the slice of chocolate to his stupidly smirking lips. “But I'm so hungry after basketball. Plus, we won! Don’t you think I deserve a treat for my hard work?” He teased, batting his eyelashes.

You sighed, nudging him away from your perfectly good cake, “Not really. If you're that hungry go eat Grim.” Ace stumbled back, pouting, yet a smile soon slithered on to his face.

“Ew no. He probably tastes like salted burnt rocks.”

You snorted at that. An ugly one.

It was quiet after that, silence soon enveloping the kitchen as you went back to your work. Too silent. You looked back at the boy, a smile forming on your lips as you watched him. He looked pretty resting on the kitchen counter. The moon casted a blue glow down his pretty face, making the heart around his eye appear to be a black color. His eyelashes seemed longer than usual, dusting over his cheeks all pretty like.

God it was so unfair how pretty this man was.

You sighed to yourself, Maybe you could spare a piece of cake for your pretty boy.

“Hey Ace, come eat this.”

His eyes fluttered open as you walked toward him, holding a small white plate in your hands. “Hm, what’s that?”

“Strawberry shortcake.” He stood up eyeing the piece of white and pink cake. You grabbed the fork, bringing it to his lips. “Say ahh.”

He laughed, opening his mouth in anticipation as you smiled. He chewed the spongy cake, eyes opening in surprise as he licked some of the cream off his lips. “Mmh, This is really good!”

“Heh, thank you. Like it?” The smile on your face grew as he nodded his head, a grin on his lips as his mouth opened once more for another bite.

You pushed the plate into him playfully, "Feed yourself!”

He grabbed your hand, whining with a pout on his face. “Awh, common prefect, my hands are too tired to work.” You just sighed, rolling your eyes at him. He responded with puppy eyes too much for you to handle. “Ugh fine… only a few bites though.”

"Ah! Sorry, am I interrupting you?" A nervous voice spoke. You chuckled softly to yourself, already knowing who was there. Turning around, you were greeted by the face of Deuce Spade, a small, yet nervous smile on his face. "Sorry prefect, I didn't mean to barge in here haha.."

He held up a few bags in his hand, holding some baking supplies that Trey gave, along with some eggs from Sam's shop. He placed them on a clean side of the counter, slowly and discreetly (trying) to shuffle out of the kitchen. However, you could see how he was eyeing the chocolate cake you just made.

You laughed, taking his hands in yours as you dragged him back inside the room. "Don't worry, you can stay, want some cake?"

He flushed, embarrassed to be caught staring at the sweet treat. "No, I’m alright, thanks tho.” Another giggle escaped your lips, it was obvious he was feeling bad for even wanting some, knowing that you made them just for you to enjoy. You didn’t mind sharing with him, but you doubt he would listen.

“If you’d like, we could make another one together, it’d be fun!" You pulled him further into the kitchen, "besides, I have the perfect recipe."

You watched as Deuce flushed red, yet he made no move to get away. You gave him a sheet of paper, a recipe to your favorite strawberry shortcake. "Here, I'll show you how to make the batter, and you can mix it for me." He seemed oddly enthusiastic about that.

He followed your instructions perfectly, cracking the eggs a certain way, adding just the right amount of flour and vanilla extract. It was kind of funny seeing him so worked up over beating some eggs, he was mixing the batter like nobody's business! It caused you to laugh, until the batter started fling all over Ramshackles kitchen.

The two of you finally finished the mini cake, decorating it with little strawberries and fancy frosting. "Wow, this looks amazing!" He spoke breathlessly, stars in his eyes as he admired your work.

You took a fork full of the sweet treat, placing it in front of Deuce's mouth. It took a second for him to register it, but once he did, his face bloomed red. A giggle left your lips as you waved it around his face, "Come on, say ahh."

He took your hand in his, placing the cake in his mouth. His eyes sparkled in delight, and soon you were giving him another slice.

"Heh, I'm glad you both liked it."

Perhaps this isn’t how you imagined your night going. Actually, it’s not something you wouldn’t expect but it absolutely is not something you imagined happening tonight.

You had been mindlessly scrolling through your magicam feed. You liked a post Cater made earlier, and oooh’d at a photoshoot preview Vil uploaded. Truly, you were living the best life instead of sleeping and being an example for other students to follow.

You snort and instantly DM a meme to the group chat you have with Ace and Deuce.

Then you hear a tap on your window. Common sense tells you to disregard it because you’re too dulled out from all the historical events you’ve lived through since finding yourself in this world. Common sense also decides that it might just be a tree or something.

You hear a tap again and look up from your phone- waiting for your eyes to adjust to the change in lighting so you can figure out what’s actually going on.

The window shakes, and sure it could just be the wind making your run-down windows shake, as they often do. But you swear that you saw a hand smack against the glass.

You grip your blanket closer to yourself as your window jiggles open and you spot the two beady eyes staring straight at your eyes. In the darkness of your room, you really can’t make out a face but… bright yellow and brown? There are only two answers as to who it could be, and you quite doubt that one of them would crawl into your room at midnight.

Actually, both would- but you don’t think one would do it unless absolutely necessary.

You reach over to the half working lamp next to your bed and turn it on with a click. In a flash, a grinning face stares back at you.

“Shrimpy!”

You sit up in disbelief, “Floyd- how did… actually,” you shake your head, “never mind. Why?”

You should probably know better than to ask this boy why he’s climbing up to your bedroom at eleven at night. But you asked anyways.

The eel-boy in question manages to push the window up enough that he can slide into your room easily. You’re suddenly grateful that Grim’s taking the couch tonight as you deadpan at him, “Floyd.”

He stands up to his full height while stretching upwards, “I was bored.” He replies as if it were the most normal thing ever, you narrow your eyes at him.

“Being bored doesn’t mean that you can scale your way up to a bedroom, y’know?” your voice muffled by your blanket. You’re used to his antics, in fact, you’re surprised at yourself for being surprised that he’s here.

Shaking your head, you resign yourself to your fate and decide that this will simply be an all-nighter as you now have to babysit a bored eel. “Never mind— Got something on your mind?” You pat the space on your bed next to you.

His grimace widens as he strides over to you and easily hangs himself off of you instead of sitting next to you like a normal person. His arms wrapping around your shoulders, his head easily resting on top of yours. “Mmmmmnoooope.”

Even with the extra weight on you, you find yourself comfy. Your phone lays nearby forgotten as you lean your own weight onto Floyd.

And it’s quiet, that’s rare. Very rare when it comes to him.

The wind blows a soft breeze through the open window, and you manage to pull the sheet over this boy on you. A yawn escapes you, and you think you can hear him snort.

He pulls back and stares down at your eyes mischievously, “mmm? Don’t tell me you’re already tired? I just got here- come onnnn. You gotta last a bit longer.”

“What are you even-“ you yawn again, “planning… Leech?”

He reaches for your discarded phone and stares at the time.

11:58p.m.

“Shhhhhh~ Trust me, just a bit more.”

You can’t believe the audacity of this eel-boy, boy-eel? You huff and make a grab for your phone; he laughs and easily pulls it out of your reach.

“Gimme my phone-“

“Nahhh, don’t feel like it.”

You groan and try to grab it again, “you stinky eel, I’ll fry you if you don’t give it here-“

Empty threats that make his laugh turn into cackles as he pulls it away from you again, except this time- He falls backwards with you in tow onto your bed.

His laughter doesn’t stop as you attempt to grab your small entertainment box to no avail. You’ve successfully amused the eel enough, congratulations!

You sigh in exasperation, “did you just come here to terrorize me? I’m gonna sick Jade on you- I swear-“

A wide grin spreads onto his face again, “nu-uh.”

Without missing a beat, you whip your head up to look at him straight in the eyes, “the fuck you mean nu-uh.”

Your phone lights up as it’s turned face-up in his hand.

12:00a.m.

He beams with joy and sits up so fast that he almost smacks his forehead against yours. You’re lucky you ducked to the side and rolled next to him, leaning back on your arms.

“FINALLY.”

You’re taken aback by his sudden, “wh-what?”

He’s practically shining, his grin spreading from ear to ear. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!”

You’re laughing. He’s there grinning at you like a dumbass, and you’re there laughing.

“Is this why you’re here?”

He nods so fast that it reminds you of a bobble-head figure. He looks so proud, and you’re here wiping tears from your eyes from how much you’re laughing.

“I told you I was going to be the first one to say it!”

You feel his weight crash onto you again, and you can’t help but think how much you don’t mind this.

these are two people i would never want to spread a rumor about especially concerning their s/o? do people at nrc have a death wish ?!? also sorry for the delay anon ,,,2023 ain't been my year fr🙏🏽 this has been sitting in the drafts for a LONG time so I wanted to get it out to you! I'll probably still work on Jade's part eventually too, it's just been a long year but :))!! I hope you still like this T 0 T

Characters: Azul Ashengrotto Established relationship, rumored hypnosis/non-consensual relationship, non-prefect reader, lovesick reader, and lovesick boys.

Azul Ashengrotto

Azul's name was never outside of the rumor mill of Night Raven College; the students, teachers, staff, ghosts, and even the portraits knew of the Octovinelle house warden's notoriety. Though his rumors never swirled around the tongues of anyone for very long, of course, the Leech twins had a certain method of silencing those who would defame Azul.

Well...all but one rumor.

"Azul Ashengrotto used a love potion to make Reader fall in love with him."

To the population of NRC, well, it made sense! Azul was already known to only do things that benefited him, after all.

He's cold, calculating, sly.

But would Azul really need to use a love potion? The rumor quickly turned into, "Azul used a contract to trap Reader in a relationship with him."

Plausible? No, but it's not like anyone but Azul, Jade, Floyd, and Reader knew that.

It didn't help that you were so doting on your beloved, Azul. Constantly singing his praise, supporting him, the lounge, and you even helped him with a few contracts occasionally. It was so odd to everyone, the well-beloved Scarabia native Reader, who's usually so calm and poised themselves in mere moments can turn a simp!

Yes, that rumor could be the only reason Azul could imagine that the crimson eyes of his fellow house warden bore into his side. It was unnerving, surely someone else would have noticed too right? No one else seemed to notice though—or maybe, no one else seemed to care.

Did everyone else in the room have the same thought? Azul was a monster who manipulated his lover?

Uncomfortable was something Azul rarely was.

Riddle's words were drowned out, he was going over something important, Azul thought but all that he could focus on was the feeling of his red eyes. Unconsciously, Azul turned his head slightly and then finally noticed it. The smile that usually graced the other face was gone, and the warmth and friendliness of his usual demeanor was ice cold.

"Thank you, Rosehearts," a more mature voice, rang out, "I think this housewarden's meeting can come to a close now. Aren't I quite benevolent? Ending the meeting early!" Crowley laughed as he stood to leave the room.

"You only ended the meeting a minute early," Leona groaned, walking behind the headmaster.

Azul stood up and started gathering his notes, he had to go. Now. Before Kalim asked him to stay and talk, he thought but a bit too late.

Kalim's hand reached over and halted Azul's movements, "Azul, can we talk...now?"

Azul couldn't answer but it seems everyone else who lingered in the room could as they made themselves scarce quickly.

"I've been wanting to talk to you since before the meeting but I got here kinda late, sorry!" Kalim laughed and moved his hand away, "Sit, sit back down!"

Azul did as told, stiffly. He made eye contact with Kalim once again and released a breath he didn't know he was holding.

The warmth of the other house warden could be felt once again so what was all that earlier, Azul was puzzled.

Was Kalim focusing so hard on the fact that he wanted to speak with Azul that he just...became whatever that was?

Azul shook his head, that didn't matter, "What is it, Kalim? I must say we don't talk often but I think we should. Housewarden to house warden, sophomore to sophomore."

Kalim wasn't someone to be nervous around and quickly, Azul's persona was back up.

"You have a point," Kalim smiled, "but that's not why I wanted to talk to you today."

"Oh?" Azul feigned ignorance, "Then please enlighten me, what's on your mind?"

"It's Reader!" Kalim sighed, "I heard a nasty rumor from some other students. They think you used a love potion on them or manipulated them with your contracts. I just want to know that you didn't!"

Kalim paused before speaking again, his eyes glimmered with an emotion Azul couldn't quite perceive, " Reader and I are close friends I wouldn't want you to hurt them. Regardless of that, they're a part of Scarbia, what kind of house warden would I be if I didn't make sure everyone in my dorm was okay?"

Oh.

Sincerity. Kindness. Love.

That's what Kalim's eye held.

Azul cleared his throat and honesty, poured out. Pure honesty, nonsugar coated, and less velvety than his usual jargon. That is what your best friend deserved.

"Those rumors about Reader and I are completely false. I would never do that to them. Love potions and contracts? It seems I'm more hated than I thought. Reader is...the only person whom I ever loved in this way. I couldn't, no, wouldn't ever manipulate them in any way."

Kalim nodded, "That's what I thought but I had to hear it from you!"

Azul chucked, "You trust me that much? I'm not a good person, Kalim."

"I trust you and I trust Reader," Kalim explained, "I think you're a good person. The way Reader talks about you can't be faked, at least I don't think so."

Kalim stood up and stretched, "I'll see you later, Azul!"

Azul stayed seated long after Kalim left the room. Alone, was a time of reflection and a time to think about you.

"A good person, huh?"

SOOO I’ve been gone for a while, sorry guys. Recently I lost my precious little kitty, and I’ve been grieving a lot (he was also my first pet so I’m extra sad, but I’m glad he’s no longer suffering), but I expect to come back soon with this request and maybe some other drafts I had been working on.

trey’s perceptive—and that normally drags you down to a disadvantage in your stance. when your eyes carelessly stray to any revealed parts of his body, to his bare neck, from his toned forearms and his veiny hands that flexed under each stroke of the pen while he jots down the next set of formulas to help you with your forthcoming exams, he breathes a small chuckle and reminds you to keep your eyes on the work, not him. are you absolutely sure you’re not going to bomb those exams on the spot?

placing his hand on your forehead to check if you have a fever.

the whirling butterflies you get in your stomach just from the supposed unromantic proximity is downright laughable. and your mind’s in a mess—what’s with trey and his tendency to lean in unnecessarily close when he does this? until the tip of your noses are touching too? he finds it amusing how the innocence of such an act can drive you bereft of speech. you on the other hand, wonder how such things can be categorised as ‘innocent’ without a second thought. he playfully delivers a soft flick to your forehead after that.

smiling at you when you get excited over the littlest things.

his knowing smile goes missed when you squeal in delight. was it an announcement for the next sequel of a series you’ve been recently binging? your favourite artists revealing a comeback in the most unexpected timing? regardless, trey has his eyes set entirely on you while you’re still on cloud 9. your moment of ecstasy gradually dies down once you notice the small smirk that graces his lips, earning a rapid rush of blood to your ears.
