Things my therapist used to have me do that just make sense
Stare right into my reflection in the mirror 30 minutes straight no make up no clothes just me. If I look away once I restart the timer. With the intention of seeing yourself, she said
Write a letter to one person every day. Letters I will never send. As in pen and paper and a letter, not less than 1000 words. In whatever language, but 1000 words. Not characters. Words.
"Explain to me how this is a problem? / Take me to the part where this is your problem"
Write 10 things I hated about myself that day and then explain what is so bad about them without making it about how others will perceive it like- how is this a problem for ME?
Talk to water. You know how water is life / water is healing? Pour water in a glass and the tell it whatever and drink. Like speaking life into yourself. So like- I am X I am Y and then drink it.
Ask me 'what's the weather in your head today' and now I describe my feelings to people in weather terms and they just -,-
5 things you can see four you can hear three you can touch two you can smell one you can taste every time i was getting too lost in my head for grounding. I still do it, 10/10 would recommend
'Outside your head is that an issue?'
Fire me even though I was the one paying because 'at this point it's just dependency'.
'I can't take you seriously if you don't take yourself seriously'

the importance of reading classic literature

TLDR: read more interesting classic literatures to become more well-rounded
Okay guys, just hear me out on this one.
Lately, most girls find themselves hooked on romantasy books and dystopian thrillers, and honestly, for good reason. Some of the world-building and plots of these books can be incredibly immersive. However, it's important to also expand your reading list !
I found that by reading more classic literature books, I became much more culturally aware and my English and History grades significantly improved.
By engaging in traditional and modern classic literature books, you're developing essential critical thinking skills, as they tackle deep themes of human nature and morality. In fact, classic literature can give great insights into significant cultural shifts and allows you to understand references made in other media. Importantly, they help you develop more eloquent vocabulary and strengthen essay writing skills.
────୨ৎ────────୨ৎ────────୨ৎ───────
"But classic literature is so boring though..."
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee - a coming-of-age story about a girl in 1930s Alabama, unraveling courtroom drama and neighbourhood mysteries that expose the ugly side of her small town.
The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson - a psychological horror about a shy woman who joins a group to investigate a haunted house—and ends up getting pulled into its dark, twisted grip.
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald - a tragic romance about a man throwing lavish parties to win back his lost love, but his obsession leads him down a dangerous, destructive path.
Animal Farm by George Orwell - a dark allegory about farm animals who rise up against their owners, only to find that their dream of equality turns into something just as corrupt and oppressive.
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë - a gothic romance about a governess who falls for a brooding man with a dark secret—and learns that true love is more than just passion. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen - a witty enemies-to-lovers story where a strong, independent woman and an arrogant, wealthy man clash—but slowly find themselves falling for each other
The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson - a classic thriller about a doctor who creates a potion that transforms him into a completely different person with no moral restraint—and the line between his two identities begins to blur.
Remember that reading should be fun, so put on your favourite playlist and make yourself a warm cup of tea before you start 🎀

guide to self-study french part 1: Pronunciation
French pronunciation is one of the biggest challenges for learners, but mastering it early will make speaking and listening much easier. This section will cover essential pronunciation rules, including vowels, accents, silent letters, and liaisons and never be afraid to learn French no matter how tricky it might seem at first eeeevery language feels overwhelming in the beginning, but the key is to take it step by step. You’ll make mistakes that’s so flipping normal! In fact, it’s the best way to learn. The more you practice, the more natural it will feel. French may have its challenges, but it also has a rhythm and logic that you’ll start to recognize with time. So be patient, enjoy the process, and remember very French speaker was once a beginner too!
1. The French Alphabet & Sounds
French uses the same alphabet as English (A-Z), but many letters are pronounced differently.
Consonants: Most consonants are similar to English, but some require extra attention:
R → A throaty sound, made in the back of the throat (rouge – red).
J → Sounds like the English "zh" in measure (je – I).
G → Soft before e, i (genou – knee), hard before a, o, u (gâteau – cake).
Vowels: French vowels have different sounds depending on accents and word placement.
📌 Practice Tip: listen to native speakers and repeat after them.
2. French Vowels & Their Sounds
French vowels are a, e, i, o, u, y. Some have multiple pronunciations:
A has two main sounds:
1. Short A – as in fat → avoir (to have), année (year).
2. Long A – as in father (if it has a circumflex â) → âme (soul), âge (age).
E has four sounds too :
1. Mute E – Almost silent, like u in our → de (of).
2. É (acute accent) – Similar to e in lexicon → opéra (opera).
3. È (grave accent) – Like e in met → très (very).
4. Ê (circumflex) – Similar to è but slightly longer → fête (party).
📌 Practice Tip: Record yourself pronouncing été, très, fête and compare to native speakers.
3. French Accents & Their Effect on Pronunciation
Accents in French change pronunciation, meaning, and sometimes grammar:
Acute accent (´) → Only on é, makes it a sharp "ay" sound (été – summer).
Grave accent (`) → On à, è, ù, makes è more open (très – very).
Circumflex (ˆ) → Often lengthens vowels (tête – head).
Diaeresis (¨) → Separates vowels (Noël – Christmas). (it's not used a loooot )
Cedilla (ç) → Softens c before a, o, u (garçon – boy).
📌 Practice Tip: Read words with accents aloud and focus on the differences (été vs. très).
4. Silent Letters in French
French spelling often includes silent letters.
Final consonants are usually silent (grand sounds like gra).
But they’re pronounced in liaisons! (see next section).
H is always silent (homme sounds like omme - hôtel sounds like otel ).
📌 Practice Tip: Read aloud and exaggerate silent letters to learn when to drop them.
5. Liaisons & Linking Sounds
Liaisons connect words when a word ending in a consonant is followed by a vowel.
Les amis → Pronounced lay-zah-mee
Nous avons → Pronounced nou-zavon
📌 Practice Tip: Listen to French sentences and write down where liaisons happen.
6. nasal vowels
French has nasal vowels that don’t exist in English. They come from vowels followed by n or m:
─ an, en → Like "on" in song (enfant – child).
─ in, ain → Similar to "an" in bank (pain – bread).
─ on → Similar to "aw" in long (nom – name).
─ un → Unique sound, similar to an but softer (un – one).
📌 Practice Tip: Try holding your nose while pronouncing pain, bon, un to feel the difference!
sources for beginners
- have always a french dictionary in your bag ! if u found a new word try to search it this is the best way and this is how I have a rich french vocabulary since I was 7 the more u search the more u pack !
- "easy french" on YouTube : always watch those type of video to hear pronunciations and also learn new words in a easy way + they have subtitles too !
- cartoons : NGL trotro l'âne - simon super lapin - peppa pig ...
Cartoons can be an excellent tool for learning French, especially for beginners. They use simple vocabulary, clear pronunciation, and repetitive sentence structures, making it easier to understand spoken I grow up forced to watch Piwi+ on tv 💀 and it really impact my pronunciation and since animations are designed for a younger audience, they often include visual cues that help learners connect words with actions, reinforcing comprehension.Additionally, cartoons expose learners to natural speech patterns, common expressions, and cultural references in a fun and engaging way. Watching with english sub or watch the cartoon in ur mother language and put sub in french will make since too ! Then after months u can start watching dramas or films in french for advanced dialogues..
I hope this is informative and helpful as a start !

Steps I am taking toward being more educated
While we all know education is necessary and important, I want to point out in my country, high education nowadays is one of the only ways to get a good life, aside from having a rich family (or at least it's what I was taught by my parents and seen around me till now). My family also takes great pride in being highly educated (not just academically, but any skill you can learn.) So here are the skills I'm improving, currently learning or plan on learning.
-I'm reading any books my professors or the people I look up to in my major recommend me to better understand my major and it's principals.
-One of my passions are calligraphy so I took classes for calligraphy in my language(English is not my first language) and learnt it in 3 month and now I use it in everyday life which has made me feel much better and more confident.
-I have recently started learning French and sometimes ask for help from my younger sister since she's learning it in school.
-I'm learning as much architecture software as I can so I will have a strong portfolio.
-I used to play violin, but left it 2 years ago for my university entrance exam. now I'm taking classes once again to start music all over again.
-I'm planning on learning chess, and I'll started watching tutorials or anything I can find on internet once I have time.(since I really can't afford another class, both in time and finances, since I don't want to put pressure on my father)
-I love reading book so I'm once again starting to really focus and read the books I purchased but haven't read yet)
-It's an understatement if I say I'm in love with any form of arts. I love going to galleries or museums so I read about arts and artists whenever I can so I can connect with them better.
I'm a type of person that whenever I learn a new skill or anything my confidence is boosted and I feel really good. You should do anything that makes you happy and confident. for me it's learning and in this journey of learning I'm not afraid to admit to my mistakes or ask for help, even if it's from my 11 years old sister. I yearn to learn new things from people that know something more than me. You angels, should be proud to do whatever that makes you happy and not shy away from it.💕

{15 of February}
Today was a pretty good start of the week. I woke up early, made a small but nutritious breakfast for myself. Checked up on my duo-lingo since i started learning French, and went to university for my first day of 4th semester. I only had one class and then came home and did a few task at hand, took my meds and watched a part of my course. But I couldn't exercise since unfortunately I'm required to sit behind laptop for a long time and it just sucked the energy out of me. I need to find a way to deal with it. I'm now going to check my pinterest and then read a book to rest my eyes. I have to sleep early since I have an important and very heavy day tomorrow.

rotting vs resting
there’s a fine line between giving yourself the rest you need and slipping into a cycle of neglect
resting is recharging. rotting is escaping
resting feels nourishing. rotting feels numbing
resting is taking a break to come back stronger. rotting is staying stuck in the same loop
resting is letting yourself exist without pressure. rotting is avoiding the things that would actually make you feel better
resting is choosing peace. rotting is letting exhaustion make choices for you
rest isn’t lazy. you deserve slow mornings, cozy afternoons and nights of deep sleep. but if “rest” is leaving you feeling drained, uninspired, and disconnected, maybe it’s not rest, it’s self-abandonment in disguise
