Cool things I’ve noticed since my autism diagnosis about a year and three months ago!

- I’ve become a lot more comfortable vocally stimming! I actually didn’t think I did it until after my diagnosis, but I’m in an emotionally safer environment where I don’t feel ashamed to stim! My favorite current vocal stims are purring, chirping, and my apartment’s collective “chiggen” call-and-response

- I’ve gotten better with textures that I previously struggled intensely with. To be fair, some of that came with the necessity of washing my own dishes, but I’ve developed new strategies to deal with the lingering feeling on my hands. I made cookies without a scoop and bread dough!

- I’m talking to more people! Since I’m now fully aware that I’ll never be able to act neurotypical, I don’t feel as ashamed when I fumble social interactions or get rejected. I still overthink and mask, of course, but I go on long walks and pet people’s dogs as a sort of “social interaction practice.”

- I’ve become more independent! Again, this is partially necessitated by me living away from my parents, but it’s still nice. I do my own grocery shopping, I do the dishes without prompting, I’m even sorting out my immigration documents on my own! That last one’s big for me because I’m going to be studying baking and pastry management in Canada this fall!

- I’m able to advocate for myself. This is probably the biggest and subtlest thing that’s happened. I’m speaking up for myself and what I want to do with my life. I can tell my professors to not make fun of my headphones when they don’t realize it’s an accommodation.

Diagnoses change lives.

One thing I’ve been really enjoying about Love-Bullet is how all of the cupids have unique fighting styles.

Kanna’s definitely the easiest to see. She prefers bombs and other high-impact weapons, and she doesn’t use guns unless absolutely necessary.

She’ll use guns when she’s training Koharu and in the shooting contest, but when given the opportunity to use a grenade, she takes it.

After that, I’d say Ena’s the most obvious. She plays sniper and uses precision weapons, if chapter 0 is anything to go off of.

The only weapon she’s been shown using has had a scope, and she doesn’t tend to face other cupids head-on. Also her weapon is really fucking powerful. Again, that gun Koharu uses is Ena’s and it shot through two people.

Chiyo is obviously the adrenaline junkie “no holds barred” fighter of the group. She dual-wields (sorry homeboys, I don’t know the specific wording for what she does) and is way more willing to get physical.

Chiyo will always throw down and throw hands. She’s deservedly egocentric, since she knows nobody can match her particular fighting style of reckless beating-the-shit-out-of-people. She’s also the only one who uses her wings during her fights! (Or at least uses them the most out of the main cupids) Her main strength is her mobility.

Koharu doesn’t have a solidified fighting style yet. She just uses her pistol because it’s a simple starting weapon.

She doesn’t really know what to do, since she’s the newest to the biz. I’m excited to see what she ends up specializing in. My bets are on her becoming a sniper like Ena. She seems to be more detail-oriented which would suit the sniper profile.

Anyone who likes The Moon On A Rainy Night should really consider getting the physical copies. I don’t know if the ebook includes them but Vol. 6 contains these little comedy shorts at the end. Rinne keeps talking fancy.

I love this manga. Homegirl literally saw boobs and decided “naw, I’m not going to do the thing I’ve done all my life to adapt to a hearing world and look at people’s faces to follow the conversation, I’m gonna look at TITS!” and that is so valid of her. Kanon Oikawa you truly are the gayest motherfucker in all of manga and your love interest LITERALLY ran away from you to deal with her internalized homophobia.

Ok I LOVED Jentry Chau vs The Underworld! It was SOOOOOO good. I love seeing a good action show with a unique animation style. Seriously, give it a chance if you like fun. The intro sequence is the best I’ve seen in a WHILE.

Had to draw a bit of fan art for the show! I originally tried drawing an actual cool background but that’s not something I’m good at so I went with this abstract background. I wanted her to sort of be stepping out of a frame.

I want to work on a project like Jentry Chau one day, something where you can see all the love that was poured into it.

A little guy from my aunt’s dnd campaign I got to play in earlier this week! He is the only ranch hand not in the harem. I think his name is Derek, I dunno, though. He’s so aroace coded to me, which I love. I ordered a couple charms of this guy that my aunt doesn’t know about, and as far as I know she doesn’t have a tumblr so I can talk about that here.

It’s real sucky that my great experiences in the HTDIO fandom will forever be obscured by the fact that I got fucking stalked by someone I met through the fandom and trusted.
