since npmd came out on youtube today i thought id review….

no alice but mariah did have a main role so win!

we met jane in nightmare time. she was not played by an og starkid. nor did any ogs return for npmd.

literally none of my dreams from 3 years ago came true </3 but npmd was fucking phenomenal so who gives a shit

my dreams for npmd:

jaime finally gets a lead baby!! if deb is the main character i don’t think i could handle it

i doubt alice will have much of a starring role because she lives in clivesdale but pls pls pls mariah reprises her role as alice

an og starkid comes back to play jane! nick basically confirmed on twitter we’re meeting jane and if an og starkid comes back (like dylan for black friday) it would make my year

my (unpopular) starkid opinions

i don’t think jazzalil was rushed or out of place i mean... it was the stone age. (also lest we forget jemilla was married to schwoopsie)

i actually think senior year is a pretty good song. also the show as a whole is not up to par like the other potter musicals but on its own it’s still a very funny and entertaining show

everyone always says that they can’t believe TTO has only 6 cast members but it feels like a show with only 6 (don’t get me wrong i love the show so much and the small cast is a reason why) but imo tgwdlm is more impressive because it doesn’t feel like it has a cast of 8.

black friday deserves more appreciation. it’s always so low on ppls rankings but i love it so much

i think angela is a better fit for lex than mariah. although i did miss mariah in black friday

i think the ending of TTO is rlly funny but i wish the studio recording had ‘you gotta go’ without the fart noises

The Marauders - Harry Potter

james and lily died at 21. they had just married. they just had a child. they had their whole lives ahead of them.

sirius spent 12 years of his life from ages 21 to 33 in azkaban. he has two years of freedom (but he’s still in hiding) and then dies.

remus spent 12 years of his life believing his best friend *cough* boyfriend *cough* to be a vicious murder. his best friend then dies two years after remus realises he’s innocent and when remus finally finds love again he dies too.

peter - who they trusted enough to be their secret keeper - betrayed them. idec about this little piece of shit after that point because he’s the reason their fates were so terrible.

Donna - Doctor Who

she lost her memory of the doctor, her whole life with him. he made her a better person, he brought wonder to her mundane life and then she lost all of it and went back to being the person she was before and ITS NOT FAIR.

Curt and Owen - Spies are Forever

they loved eachother so. goddamn. much. and just because curt thought owen had died they both became such different people. curt lived four years in grief because he thought the love of his life was dead. owen became a mass murderer. and in the end curt has to sacrifice him to save the world and you know that’s fine i didn’t want my heart anyway

i was playing @starrymusical in the car today and my dad thought it was les miserables

my opinion on controversial harry potter characters

snape - yes he did his part to save the wizard world but that doesn’t excuse his years of emotional abuse to children. he hated harry because he looked like his dad, which is petty and stupid - but why did he hate neville and hermione? no valid reason. snape was a bully and he only did good things due to his obsessive ‘love’ for lily.

draco - his actions as a child were racist and terrible and he was definitely a bully. but unlike snape he eventually fought on the side of good because he knew it was right. he was a bad person but i can forgive him because he was a child and has time to learn and grow as a person.

dumbledore - the most morally grey character in the whole of the series. he only raised harry for death in the interest of the wizarding world, that doesn’t mean its excusable but it’s a better reason than snape’s. overall i’d say he’s a good person but that doesn’t mean i like him.

seeing a lot of posts about the starkids of colour / favouritism in the fandom.

i am guilty of this. there is no shying away from that. so let me spread some love and appreciation for these amazing, talented humans.

lauren walker may not be a singer but she fucking killed it as molag. molag was one of my favourite characters in firebringer purely due to her personality and comedic ability.

tiffany has a beautiful voice and was under appreciated in firebringer!! i know the script was originally written with less characters in mind, hence lack of solos for other characters, but man i wanna see her in something that she gets a full solo.

britney is on broadway. do i need to say anything else? yes. did you hear her voice in avpsy?? now that was talent and i’m mad she didn’t get any other solo parts in earlier potter musicals.

james is so fucking talented. he’s a goddamn triple threat and he’s responsible for some of my favourite choreography in all of starkid. (roberts iconic police dance - yeah that was him). i understand he didn’t get much of a main role in black friday as he was also choreographing the show but damn, he needs a bigger role.

and finally corey. corey has been in 6 starkid musicals and has been with the team since mamd. he went to fucking julliard. corey has been in starkid 11 years and he still hasn’t gotten a lead?? i listened to ‘our doors are open’ on the soundtrack and jesus christ he sounds like an angel. get corey a lead.

and one final point - all of these people mentioned above (except james because he wasn’t a performer until black friday) came back for starkid homecoming. they are clearly wonderful people who the other starkids also love so we should give them just as much appreciation as the other starkids.

YES THIS IS IMPORTANT!! i am aware that a lot of these take creative liberties and i have spent hours reading genius annotations that point out the historical innacuracies. however my point that historical musicals spark my interest for obscure areas of history still stands

i love learning history but i hate teaching myself

however write me a historical musical and i’m right on it.

hamilton? no idea who the guy was before listening and now i can tell you his life story

my point is. historical musicals are the best. write me a musical about history and i will love you forever.
