Daniel Cross is such an interesting but tragic character. Because normally when sleeper agents are introduced in media, it shows how ruthless they were made to be, and then pushes the focus to their healing process. Forcing them to become human again

Except Daniel doesn't get that luxury. He's turned into a sleeper agent from a very young age and that manipulation stays with him until his death. He only starts his "healing" while looking for the assassin grandmaster which he only did because that's what he was trained to do. Find the grandmaster and kill him. It's the first thing he asks for when first coming into contact with the assassins and the one thing he works for the whole time hes there.

We never see his real personality or what he might be like in a better situation because he's never put into a better situation. He's never redeemed, never given peace. He was raised a sleeper agent and died a sleeper agent.

And what makes this worse, his death was nothing more than another manipulation tactic used by Vidic

Rewatching the captain america trilogy so this is what I think the main set of avengers would post on social media/what type of social media presence they give off

Steve Rodgers: posts a lot of mental health awareness, is very productive with his platform uses it to raise money to fund charities, and also has an ongoing series where he tries modern foods that people recommend, there is a video of him crying over soul food

Tony Stark: has kinda a politician's vibe with just a sprinkle of shit posting involved. Really only posts about public events that already have news coverage but occasionally a video will pop up of Tony ranting in his car about New York traffic or something. Other than that he comes off as very pr trained thanks to Pepper (js don't look at any of the interviews where she's not there)

Bucky Barnes: professional shit poster. Most content of him isn't even from his account it's from random people taking disgruntled photos of him in public and the few times he does post it's absolutely garbage. Mostly just him screaming about random bullshit like how pissed he was that he can't use what used to be his favorite cologne because one of his handlers used it and now it gives him ptsd he spends most videos cursing out Hydra, the fact that racism is still a thing, the shitty infrastructure of America. There is a gif of him slamming his head on the steering wheel over and over while dealing with NYC traffic. But other than that he rarely posts he usually only does it cause it helps him remember stuff

Sam Wilson: mostly body cam footage from missions where he's flying around. Nothing classified of course but he likes posting himself flying next to attack jets or doing barrel rolls. He occasionally uses his account to talk about actual issues but its pretty tame

Wanda: also has a tame social media page. It's mostly just recipes she likes, memes, hair styling tips, etc. As she gets older her social media becomes more Facebook mom, but during the cap trilogy its mostly just cooking stuff

Natasha: realistically wouldn't have much of a social media presence. She occasionally shows up in the background of Bucky's videos or Tony's but dosent really post on account being taught to stay hidden and stuff. She has maybe 3 posts up and its just a picture of the gym not even showing her face, a video of some food wanda made, and a picture of the sunset

Peter Parker: has a blog where he rants about school and stuff but thats it, took social media safety class very seriously as a kid

Thor: as much as I would like to believe that he would post stupid videos of him doing random shit, he wouldn't have a social media presence at all. Tony made an account for him and he hasn't touched it, since he barely uses modern technology anyway. He shows up in the background of one of Tony's or Steve's videos and thats it

Rewatching captain america Civil War and I know Bucky was like going through it you know trying to get his memories back but each memory just brings more pain as he realizes the suffering he's caused etc etc. But I think it would have been REALLY funny if when Rhodes said "Congratulations cap, you're a criminal." Bucky got a massive grin on his face and told him to pay up because after over 40 years he somehow remembered the stupid bet they made that Steve would go to jail first

Like as they are taking him away bucky is looking at Steve like "im gonna get the mf quarter." And will not stop bringing it up after the fact. Like any time money is brought up bucky is like "you know on the note of money-"

I saw someone else make this analysis a while back and its all ive been able to think about

Jason Todd never wanted Bruce to kill the Joker, he wanted evidence that his death mattered.

Even if Bruce killed the joker, it still wouldn't be enough, Jason would be upset that Bruce kill not only the joker but also batman. If Bruce got rid of Robin, Jason would have been upset about him killing Robin who a lot of kids look up too. If he got another Robin it would become "why are you replacing me"

Jason wanted proof his death mattered. This a 15 year old boy who just found out the world didn't stop when he died. He's upset that he was put on pause and everyone was allowed to just keep moving without him. Thats why he got mad at batman in that one spin off comic where he did kill the joker, BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER ABOUT THE JOKER IT WAS ABOUT PROVING HE MATTERED

Stuck on red dead redemption rn so here are some modern au headcaons!

When Arthur got sick with tb, he was so insistent on trying to work that Mrs. Grimshaw and Bill had to literally drag Arthur kicking and screaming back to his room, John still has the video

Micha tried to scam Dutch and Hosea out of their farm by trying to frame them for a whole bunch of different crimes but failed

When John was younger, he once called Arthur sobbing because he had gotten arrested for trespassing with his friends, Arthur got him out and they never told Dutch or Hosea

They live on a farm in Austin TX

Sadie and her husband worked in the military together till an accident happened where her husband died and Sadie was honorably discharged

Dutch went to Hawaii once for a work thing and he's wanted to live on an island since but never did cuz he preferred to stay on the farm with everyone

John had a really bad emo phase, Arthur still has little John with his dyed black hair and freshly butchered side bangs as his lock screen

Dutch and Hosea were foster parents for a bit and that's how they met Sean, John, and Arthur. They adopted John and Arthur but Sean was only in the system temporarily till his parents got their citizenship sorted out but he stayed close with them and they have family dinners atleast once a month

John met Abigail at a horse showing event and tried to impress her in the speed events but fell off his horse instead

Arthur met tilly at the same event and became friends with her until her brother grabbed her and scolded her for talking to a kid from the vanDerLin farm

Arthur, John, and Sean met Lenny and Charles at 4h camp when they were kids

Charles comes over so often that he has a key to the house

Bill was in the military with Sadie and her husband and saw the whole incident, its the one thing he refuses to talk about when talking about his military experience. He brushes it off by saying he signed an NDA but everyone can see that far off look he gets.

Kieran and Tilly's parents were friends so they grew up together along with mary-beth

Abigail worked at hooters for a bit while taking pole classes but she quit after getting offered a job at the farm where she got closer to John

Arthur and John were homeschooled by Dutch and Hosea.

Dutch tried to encourage collage but John thought it was stupid and just wanted to work on the farm while Arthur got a degree in art

Karen worked at hooters with Abigail and while she started hanging out at the farm, she still kept her job there just lowered her hours

Molly met Karen when her toxic bf kept going to hooters to stare at the girls and compare Molly to them, Karen punched the guy in the parking lot and let Molly stay at her place for a few days

Micah tried to burn down the farm

Every time Arthur coughs, John side eyes him and is like "dont tell me you have tuberculosis again..." John also laughed at him when he got diagnosed, saying "christ isnt that the stuff medieval peasants died from?!" And would tell him to go take his meds before he dropped dead

When Micah tried to burn down the farm he had started at the stables where Arthur was taking care of his horse despite being at the height of his tb and when he saw the smoke, he grabbed the horses, sprinted out side before beating the shit out of Micah, nearly killing him till Dutch pulled him off

John is a good cook but a terrible baker while Abigail is a amazing baker but a terrible cook

Arthur and John met in the foster care system and bounced around from family to family and would even make jokes about how long it would take to "break" their foster parents to get them to send them back

Javier taught John to play guitar

Arthur met Mary at collage and was so smitten with her that he accidently spilled hot coffee all over himself and burned himself

Mary lived in Europe initially but was an exchange student, when she finished school and had to go back to Europe, she tried to do long distance woth Arthur but it didnt work out

When Hosea was teaching Arthur to ride using his horse to start off with, Arthur started jokingly calling his horse horsea until hosea's horse started exclusively responding to that, when Dutch found out he laughed so hard he tripped over a chair

Mrs. Grimshaw wanted kids but was infertile so she really took a maternal role with all the kids running around the farm

Javier was in the same orphanage as Arthur and John and used to place bets on when they would get sent back

John once broke 2 phones in the span of 4 months because he kept putting it in the space between his saddle and saddle pad which caused it to fall out and get stepped on

Charles is secretly into star wars but keeps silent about it because sean is also into star wars

Sean was homeless when he was a kid and has really bad teeth because of it. He also snuck into 4h camp that summer he met John Arthur and Charles and just pretended he belonged there and no one noticed.

Arthur decorated his journal with stickers

John is terrified of needles, like tried to bite the nurse when he needed stitches and had to be sedated.

Charles does weight lifting and long distance running for track when he was in highschool

Lenny is a huge history nerd like tell him a date and he will tell you exactly what historical event was going on at the time but he is so bad at biology, every other science field hes good at but so bad at bio

The first year john lived with Dutch, her tried to run away but barely got 5 fert off the property before breaking down sobbing over it, Dutch found him and brought him back inside

When John got Abigail pregnant he accidentally ghosted her because he went on a ride to clear his head and broke his phone again, it wasn't until 3 days later when she showed up at his door that he got to talk to her

John was kind of a dick to Abigail at first all "it was just a one night stand why do I have to take care of it" and "im not touching that thing till you get a paternity test." Until Mrs grimshaw heard him talk to her like that and ripped him a new one like it was baaaad he left that conversation in tears

Molly initially HATED Karen because of her bf comparing her constantly, it wasn't until after Karen punched the guy in the mouth that she began to like her (im a sucker for enemies to lovers shut up)

Dutch was a classic literature professor when he was younger

Theres old pictures of hosea drinking with a famous rock band

John and Abigail have another kid a girl named Savanna

Arthur still had his son Issac and he and John's kids all get together for play dates all the time

Any time they have a family BBQ, atleast 500$ is used for food alone its always so crowded but so fun

So when Micah burned down the stables while Arthur had tb, the amount of smoke he inhaled plus the stress doubled his bed rest order and Mrs grimshaw not wanting to drag him to the house a 2nd time, grabbed a pair of handcuffs from the officers and handcuffed him to his bed

When john was younger, he was mentioned around Bill he was thinking of joining the army and was shut down so quickly

Bill had already been hired as a farmhand by the time arthur and john had been adopted Sadie was hired after john was attacked by a wolf and refused to go back into the sheep pen where he was attacked

You'd have to pry Charles's headphones from his cold dead body and even then he might hang onto them for one more song.

Bruce Wayne with DID has been consuming my brain because the concept just goes so hard

It's even better if you incorporate alters that aren't usually thought of, like naturally you have brucie wayne and Batman, but imagine an alter whose entire job is to "parent" the system and as a result is the reason they keep adopting more kids.

Or imagine the Joker gets turned into an alter. And since we know alters rarely behave like their source material, I imagine alter Joker absolutely HATES the real Joker, like despises him on a molecular level. Not because he's erratic and a killer, but because hes so fucking annoying and doesn't know how to properly carry out actual missions. Alter Joker has snapped at the real Joker so many times that they have to drag him away from front every time they fight the real joker

It would also be a really funny concept if the batman was forced to go to a gala because he got stuck up in front and couldn't leave

I dont normally talk about shifting on this account but I'm too lazy to log in my other one rn, but I just wanted to mention this method I've been doing for years because this was literally the thing that made me shift and figured it could help someone

So a problem I had before was I thinking of my consciousness as a ball of light that was like in my head or something and to shift I had to move that ball of light to my reality. But then I realized im already in my dr so my perception of my consciousness didnt make sense.

So instead I started imagining it as a large sheet where the fabric was made up of all the different realities I was in, and that helped a ton because now shifting was no longer moving my mind to a different reality and was now moving my focus to a different part. THEN I realized I could just make my consciousness a replica of me in this reality and make things even easier

So what I do to shift is just, move my focus from my hand to my leg. Because my consciousness is the same shape as me, it's really easy to convince my brain I no longer have a physical form, and since my consciousness is made up of all my drs, the reality I'm currently in is in my "hand" and my desired reality is in my "leg" so now I just gotta shift my focus from my hand to my leg. Which is much easier then moving across the universe to get to my reality

No clue if anyone will see this or if this even makes sense, but hope this helps someone decomplicate their shifting journey

I mean the cover still works, no one would suspect the sad orphan who always looks to be on the verge of tears at all times to be thee batman. Not the guy who hunched over while nervously glancing around any time the focus is on him or who flinches if someone walks too fast past him.

It would also probably be more convenient for keeping his identity as Bruce a secret because now no one would question why Alfred is attending all shareholder meetings that week, they would just assume Bruce was having another anxiety issue and brush it off. No one would think he's in bed recovering from catching some shrapnel in his leg from one of Joker's bombs

Also, I feel like it would help sway public opinion in favor of Batman anytime Bruce gets hurt during a villain attack or if someone tries to target him because "what did gothem's anxiety riddled prince do to you? The boy already lost his parents how dare you traumatize our little meow meow during one of his few public appearances?! Batman, get em😾" and this would also allow him an excuse to stop showing up in public while he works a case because obviously the boy scared of his own shadow ain't gonna set foot outside while an active murder is on the loose

Lowkey realized that in sci fi, there is very rarely a culture barrier the same way there is in language barrier, or it's atleast not done in the way im thinking

Like sure, there's the occasional "humans smiling makes other species nervous" thing but we've seen that. I wanna see the difference in humor. I wanna see a human making a stupid joke and it falling so flat cuz of the cultural difference

Like yall know that one dog joke in French that every French person was laughing at but then when it got translated it wasn't that funny and the French had to respond with "its funnier in french..." I WANT THAT

While the 2022 batman movie failed at giving us brucie Wayne, I do think they gave us something just as important: pre-Robin angsty teen batman

They captured pre-robin Bruce Wayne PERFECTLY and I will forever thank them for that

So we all know the dialog with Hosea and Dutch where Hosea describes them as "the curious couple and their unruly son" but I would like to point out another moment in that dialog

The part where Hosea mentions Bessie, more so, Dutch's reaction to it. He goes quiet for a few moments before brushing Bessie off "That was a lifetime ago, but think of the life WE have lived!"

He immediately shuts down the idea of Bessie and redirects Hosea's focus to the things THEY have done TOGETHER, WITHOUT BESSIE that sounds like when your bf mentions their ex and you get jealous but you're tryin not to show it

Also, the way Hosea also seems to play it down "brought Bessie round these parts, feels like a lifetime ago, now." Like he knows Dutch is gonna shut down the conversation and he's giving him an easy way to do so.

But when he talks about Bessie with Arthur, he actually talks about her, telling what she was like and why they split apart. When talking to Dutch, he makes it as short as possible with very few details, never even saying why they were there or why they left. Just he brought her here a long time ago and thats that.
