Daniel Cross Anon here! I saw your answer. Good luck!
I've finally returned from camp and finished my testing so I'm here to info dump on Daniel Cross
first, a lot of the basic info that you might not find out from just the game is that he was part of the inner sanctum when he died. He was a master templar blah blah blah, anyway, here are all my theories about him
So in the 2nd comic, the fall, we see the Daniel was found on the street as a kid by a couple driving by, but in the one page we see on that, he is speaking Russian by that point and also severely bruised and beaten (busted lip, black eyes, bruises over his chest, legs, and arms etc) and the only reason we can see the bruises on his body is because he is in nothing but his underwear during autumn. So, my theory is that he had been raised as a very young child by the templars, either they had his parents killed after they realized his ancestor was Nikolai Orelov, or they got him out of the foster system and that was just a coincidence. Also, it's canon in the game that part of the templar brainwashing was them forcing him into the animus, so maybe he was being forced to relive his ancestor's life and that would explain him speaking Russian, but that also implies the Templars had the animus for a lot longer than said in the game
Now a bit of focus on that last part, now the animus was in production for a long time, but it probably hadn't become stable until recently, meaning that the templars probably forced Daniel, who was a CHILD at the time, into an unstable machine that horrendously fucked up his mental state. So badly to the point that when he was a fully grown adult and hadn't been in contact with the templars in years, he had gotten drunk at a bar and had a severe flash back so bad he lost it and started swinging a knife around screaming about the templars. All this to say that the proto-version of the animus they shoved him in fucked up his brain so badly that he was still having bleeding effects well into being an adult after years of not having access to the animus. He had been diagnosed as schizophrenic and was on medication, but the hallucinations were still terrible, enough so that on the next page, someone tries to grab him and he knocks them all out easily and it's one of my favorite panel's in this comic. But anyway, later on in the comic, he throws away his medicine and then has suck a sever bleeding effect, after just hours of not being on his meds, that he punched the cell leader in the face and ran out of his apartment, fully believing he was his ancestor going after some isu staff and then promptly passes out in Hannah's arms
Anyway, you know how he was a sleeper agent, yeah that shit AFFECTED him. In this comic he said that "it feels like there's something coiled deep inside me like a snake and it's waiting to get out." So I also believe that even though his sleeper agent side wasn't activated, it was still part of his instinct's, which makes sense why he immediately asked to see the mentor, before he even knew what was really going on. Like in the comic, he asked where he was and if he could speak to the manager which is fucking insane. And what's even funnier is a few years after his vision, he goes on a quest to find the mentor (because the voices told him to) and he ends up cleaning up his life and growing his hair out which was the worst thing he could do because it turned into a bleach blond bob that literally haunts me in my dreams but I digress. Then he gets kidnapped by the assassins brought to the mentor, and then the mentor gives him a hidden blade and accidently triggers his sleeper agent side and then gets killed by him, which his trigger words, funnily enough are, "You're very special" He has a whole breakdown, returns to abstergo and finally cuts his fucking hair oh thank god (I will add a picture at the end so you can see how bad it is, anyway more info dumping)
Since he knew where all of the assassin hideouts were since he had traveled to them all trying to find the mentor, he was the best asset for the templars and is why he was so efficient as a templar. But ofc the assassins knew this, so they started evacuating all of their facilities, except Hannah chose to stay behind and he killed her. He then went on to be the one to capture Desmond Miles, which considering Desmond didn't recognize him immediately, that implies that Cross was so good and so terrifying that he was able to get into Desmond's apartment, and then proceed to knock him out and bring him to abstergo without Desmond ever seeing him or waking up, which is fucking terrifying
Anyway, they key points from this long wall of text is that, 1. The templars put Daniel in an animus that was not ready which resulted in him having permeant bleeding effects for the rest of his life. 2. Daniel cross had a long hair bleach blond bob phase and it should be talked about more. 3. he was the one to capture Desmond Miles and bring him to Abstergo
Also, Karen!Daniel cross:

You know this started as a silly hehehaha of "oh imagine if Juno was super nervous about her sacrifice dying before its time so she overcompensated like hell and desmond abused the crap out of it just to annoy her but it turned into something so much worse
But anyway, I would like to raise you, what if Desmond survived the temple but Juno didn't? What if for some ungodly reason, Desmond left that temple by himself.
Because think about it, his whole life has been carefully curated around this one point in time, this one thing serves to be his whole purpose. In one universe to the next, he was destined to die there. But he doesn't. Instead he's left alone, the crumbling monument to the only person who cared about him, who wanted to see him alive, who gave him purpose being his only source of comfort. Now he's alone, wandering the earth searching for something to do, something to fill the void. He never noticed Juno was in his life until she was gone, a cold empty void sitting where the goddess used to, the presence that guided him from right and wrong. The voice that whispered to him to run that night when he was 16, the hand that guided him to kill Lucy to save the world, is now gone. All that's left is a crumbling temple and the scars it gave him.
Okay but like what if Juno was super protective over Desmond, him being the key to her escape and everything, so every time Desmond was at risk of even being hurt while in the temple, she would step in and just get rid of the threat or remove desmond from the situation, even for the most minor things
Desmond about to stub his toe, suddenly teleported back several feet, or the desk just slides across the room away from him. He accidentally opens his hidden blade without moving his finger, the entire blade just disappears before it hits his hand. Bill tries to punch him in the face? He's flown across the temple so aggressively it cracks a wall
Desmond has a love/really hate relationship with it, cuz, on one hand, no more paper cuts and can no longer forget to eat. But on the other hand, any time he comes back from the field after insisting he's fine, Juno is literally forcing him to sit down while she throws bandages and water at him while Rebecca and Shaun try not to laugh. And she has basically barred him from exploring the temple any further because every time he tries, she puts him back down on the ground because climbing the temple is too much strain on his already weak body

Thinking about how Lucy, a Templar sent to betray Desmond, was also the first one to care for desmond without any strings attached, she just liked him for him, and yet she was also the first one to be killed by him.

Similar to his ancestors, Desmond has a very hard-to-pin-down accent. He has a bad habit of mimicking the accents of whoever he is talking to, and as a bartender, he talks to a lot of people and picks up a LOT of accents
He has a New Yorker accent as the base, but it also holds a southern twang to it, his slang often sounds more Midwestern than anything, but if he's excited, he has almost a Valley accent. But often times, he accent will match the accent of whoever is talking to him

Lowkey imagining Desmond with a sunburn, because I have a horrible sunburn, and then realized he worked a night shift and probably kept up the habit of sticking to the shadows while on the run, so he was probably pale asf (but considering he's Arabic, his pale-ness probably wasn't noticeable because he's naturally tan enough that its not noticeable) but anyways, if he did manage to get a sun burn, he would be a complete baby about it
Full on "oh it burnnnnssss" all dramatic like. Refusing to wear a shirt unless he absolutely has too and when he does, it's the looses fabric possible to the point the shirt is basically useless.

Guys, I have a crossover theory about scp. What if scop 001 is the city Mandela from the Mandela catalog
I mean, a lot of the creatures in Mandela have scp vibes, maybe we are just viewing the creatures from the pov of the people infected instead of from the pov of doctors with an unbiased view. Even some of the catalog have the same "official" kind of vibes as most scp files. And a lot of the cassettes and videos start with a "this is classified" warning but never specified who classified it
Idk just a theory I thought of while watching the boiled one phenomenon with my cousin and thinking about the Mandela catalog

I can't go 3 seconds without reminding everyone that by ac3, the animus had been updated enough so that when Desmond used it, it put his body into a fugue state, and because of that they kept him in there for days at a time. Think medically induced coma just without the muscle atrophy and feeding tube.
Now I would like to also remind everyone that the only reason he went into the animus willingly in the first place, was because of the fear that the templars would just induce a coma and force him into the animus anyway

Sometimes I wonder if those "what's the stupidest thing you've had to sit through" stories on reddit are ever just the other end of a malicious compliance story

The added part about desmond not being able to cook pre animus needs to be spoken about more
Because it's different from Ezio's inability to cook, ezio can atleast boil water and make simple food, desmond on the other hand... last time he was allowed into a kitchen, he accidently set a pot on fire... he was just boiling water. His cooking literally defies most laws of physics, or technically follows them to a T just very maliciously. Don't get me wrong, he understands the basic function of cooking, he understands how things should taste together but it just never works for him
Moral of the story, Altair dosent cook cuz he doesn't feel like it, Ezio doesn't cook cuz he can't, and Desmond doesn't cook because he pissed off a god at some point in his life and their retribution is stealing his ability to make food
I feel like Altair is that kind of guy to just eat rat poison if he's dosent feel like making food. And when he does make food, it's borderline radioactive
Don't get me wrong, when he has the energy and actually tries, he is an extraordinary cook, able to turn a pack of ramen into a Michelin star meal type good. But he just doesn't wanna. Its much easier to just put the seasoning packet onto some dry noodles and eat it that way, not even boiling it. If he was in the modern day, do not let him discover canned soup or he will be surviving off of those like a caveman, no he is not heating them up on the stove
Ezio on the other hand was a very picky eater but only really knew the basics of cooking. He knew how to make basic stuff like pasta, rice, chicken, etc but ask him to make a complex dish and he will blow up the kitchen
And Connor is the only normal one here with a normal skill in cooking (for his time period since im sure it's a bit harder to cook over an open flame where you can't control the temp) and the only one willing to cook a decent meal that doesn't look like it was dug up from the ground

Oooh I was initially thinking of a butcher and his prized beef cow that will be dead by winter but this is so good especially since Desmond has never had a good relationship with his parents so having a parental relationship with someone who only raised him to die has such a good potential for angst
Oh and what's even better is Desmond's consciousness was uploaded to the Gray so they're both alone now, imagine if they both spent their first years apart searching for each other, Juno wouldn't know Desmond is in the Gray, and Desmond's only "contact" with her would be from watching her timeline during the few minutes of downtime he allowed himself between trying to stop the sun from burning again
Also im pretty sure prolonged exposure to the Gray strips away most of your personality and just leaves key points until those are stripped away too so Desmond would eventually everything about Desmond would be stripped away aside from his devotion to Juno, the thing he was created for
Imagine if Juno managed to access the Gray and found Desmond, but once she's realized the only thing left of him is his need to save her, she's devastated, so she uses the Gray to go back to the temple and fix everything
Idk sorry if this dosent make sense im on hour 6 of a 15 hour road trip so im not the most cognitive rn🫠

Any soliders who fought Connor are genuinely better then me because if you told me I had to go up against a 6'5 man who is 200lbs of pure muscle and malice who just snapped my friends back over his knee like he was a chiropractor, I would disintegrate
