a/n: So sorry this took so long!

The last few days felt like a whirlwind. What started as a normal day had turned into betrayal and a fight that went from Water 7 to Enies Lobby. All of Galley-La had taken a hit and now everyone was pitching in to help rebuild.

I was worried about everyone, but mostly Paulie. He hadn't talked much about what happened and just threw himself into work. I had the time so I decided to stop by and see him. Not surprisingly I found him in the shipyard of Dock One.

"Paulie!" I called to him.

He paused what he was doing and smiled when he saw me.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

"Came to see you," I said. "I just wanted to see how you were doing."

"Well, I'm doing better now that you're here," he said.

"Sweet talk will get you everywhere," I said.

"Will it get you to stop worrying so much?" He asked.

"Alright, it'll get you almost everywhere," I said.

"That's what I thought," he said.

"I don't mean to worry so much. Its just a lot happened and none of it was good… I just want everyone to be okay. Especially you," I said.

"I appreciate that," he said. "Its been a lot, but everything's alright. I'll be alright. Especially when I have you looking out for me."

"You sure?" I asked.

"I promise," he said.

"Okay… I guess I'll believe you and let you get back to work," I said.

"I'll see you tonight, alright?" He asked.

I nodded and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.

"See you then," I said.

Rosi didn't want much for his birthday. He just wanted to spend a nice, relaxing day with you. You were happy to oblige, but you still wanted to make the day special.

Lucky for you, the universe seemed to be on your side. There was a meteor shower forecasted for the night of his birthday.

You spent the days leading up to it constantly checking the weather forecast and hoping that it would be a clear night. When the day came there were some clouds in the afternoon, but the skies began to clear in the evening.

When it got closer to the meteor shower starting, you and Rosi went to your backyard. You brought a blanket out to put down for the both of you to lay on and watch the sky.

The two of you cuddled up together on the blanket. You spent the next few hours talking and watching the meteor shower.

The two of you went out to dinner. He was happy just to spend time relaxing and talking with you.

He thought dinner was all you had planned, but after you were done you didn't head home. The two of you went to meet up with some of the other shipwrights from Galley-La to go bowling. You quickly found out that Paulie was surprisingly good at bowling. At least, a lot better than you, but it didn't matter as long as he was having fun.

It also didn't take long for some friendly competition to spark which wasn't surprising. Despite that, it was still a fun night spent with friends.

After breakfast, the two of you got ready for the day and headed out. The first stop was the nail salon for manicures and pedicures. Afterwards was a day filled mostly with shopping.

To end your time out you took her to a nice restaurant for dinner.

When dinner was over it was time to head home. The rest of the night was spent curled up in bed together watching movies.
