so do you think that if jay was in ancient greece (i’d add roman empire as well, but greek mythology should stay greek, wtf), he’d be patronized by artemis? he obviously would worship her, there’s no question to that.

considering that she was a goddess of, besides hunt, transition, and care of children, all of which fit jason perfectly. especially considering how much she cares for women and children, which is precisely jason’s priority. and to top it off, it would be pretty much in line with greek mythology “tropes”: a strong goddess patronizes a man who does what she values, and artemis’ values were quite unusual for ancient greece. just like imagine her being utterly shocked that a man, respects???? and protects????? women?????? and then she oversteps her fair prejudices, and gives him her blessing.

dick getting blessing from apollo. because, first of all, and let’s be so honest here, his name. already enough of an argument i fear. but also beauty, and youth, and the performance 🤌🤌🤌 moreover, i feel like apollo would find it so fun to patronize a brother of his sister’s protege who also happens to be interesting enough to follow and observe. and the sibling drama there - peak, so fun to watch.

i can also see artemis being constantly unpleased with the way jason’s family situation unfolds, emphasizing with him, while apollo is having fun.

extra point if both twins decided to patronize batboys because of how tough for them their mothers’ deaths were.

after initially creating all of these for jason, i got a consultation from the dick-grayson-sage @gaywineauntsstuff who mentioned donna, and i hate to say it but…

DONNA FITS THE ARTEMIS THING SO MUCH, I NEED IT RN, AND ALL OF THESE BUT ARTEMIS PATRONIZING DONNA AND APOLLO PATRONIZING DICK - PEAK SIBLINGISM. I NEED IT RIGHT THIS MOMENT IN FRONT OF ME. SHE’D BE SUCH A BADASS PATRONIZED BY A BADASS, THEY’D BE UNSTOPPABLE.

i think the near-extinction of people making fun, deep and/or unique interactive text-based browser games, projects and stories is catastrophic to the internet. i'm talking pre-itch.io era, nothing against it.

there are a lot of fun ones listed here and here but for the most part, they were made years ago and are now a dying breed. i get why. there's no money in it. factoring in the cost of web hosting and servers, it probably costs money. it's just sad that it's a dying art form.

anyway, here's some of my favorite browser-based interactive projects and games, if you're into that kind of thing. 90% of them are on the lists that i linked above.

if you're ever thinking about making a niche project that only a select number of individuals will be nerdy enough to enjoy, keep in mind i've been playing some of these games off and on for 20~ years (Alter Ego, for example). quite literally a lifetime of replayability.

!everything i’m about to rant about is related to 80s batman/detective comics and that era in general, no other versions considered!

jason was the only one who really knew crime from within. he lived on the streets of gotham, c’mon. he was the only one who actually lived through it and was hurt by it on constant basis, who had to be around criminals in his daily life, against his will while not being a direct part of it. obv his interpretations of justice and violence are different, he’s starved for justice. he is not angry, he’s doing what he thinks is right, believes is right, and, moreover, he does it the way he knows how to do it, which is more violent. but not because he’s angry, because it was okay in his surrounding before (rough casual violence, not deliberate as with damian for example)

but this is my interpretation that is subjective. however, there’s the other side which is canon and painfully stupid: in the comics he does not do more violence than batman himself or any other robin. he is a casual robin, i was confused 80% of the time (other 20% was me trying to save my impression and nitpicking the reasons for bruce being unpleased) why batman is scolding him, because boy was doing exactly what his “teacher” did. no more no less violence.

anyways, that’s why i go with the explanation i started with, and it helps me to tie majority of the rewrites together into one jason.

but also dc should stop constantly changing him perhaps 😇

okay so i am genuinely confused as to why we are acting like jason was not angry as robin i mean a big part of his whole character was that he had a strong sense of justice and sometimes went too far joker himself said he was more brutal than the first robin don’t get me wrong he was a sweet kid but taking out the fact that he was still too violent sometimes takes a lot out of his character

It’s like how people went “oh dick isn’t this dumb himbo who needs Jason to come save him” so then everyone went “he is filled with rage and wants to /can murder everyone with ease he will feel no guilt”

Like people showed evidence that Jason wasn’t this rage filled murderous loser as Robin. Therefore he’s a sweetie pie who never did anything wrong ever.

(However let’s be so real if we are making quick shitposts, then yeah if you wanna make Jason more complicated/ highlight the extreme change he goes through from Robin to redhood it’s just easier to make him the sweetie-pie Robin)

I think it’s also to do with their relationships to Bruce

-Tim and Dick both chafed under the Bats control and argued with him about it.

- Dicks favorite hobby seems to be calling Bruce out on his shit in various loud and dramatic ways

-tim had the YJ and dick had the titans

-Jason especially post death is more used as this tragic rough around the edges sweetie who disobeys once and gets blown up for his troubles

the way jason todd behaves in the outlaws makes me convinced that he’s aroace who’s just being ?peer? pressured into seeing random people because “wdym you haven’t had proper relationship? you should see someone! you’re young, it’s time to experiment, go around, everyone does!!!”, attempts to be “normal”. dude clearly doesn’t enjoy and doesn’t think twice before abandoning the topic/person. he even talked about his hell of a trauma instead of just… well, making out with starfire.

leave the child alone. jason todd, we accept you as you are, not everyone is tim drake, it’s normal.

speaking of which, the breakfast with tim they had in previous issues? conversation about sexuality, and how it’s okay to be as you are, - i was a plate on the table, i saw, i tell you.

last reblogged art made me thinking about it again: isn’t there a feeling like so many male characters would be so much better being female? (geto suguru, i’m looking at you)

like keep everything: the personality, the story, the badassness, just make him - her; the whole plot becomes so much better, and oh 😦wow😦 strong properly written women appear, if you actually work on them. who would have guessed?

for dc it’d be harder, because they treat everyone like shit at some point, and the amount of SAs and overall dirt on characters would look so much worse, but perhaps that’d make them try more and work more on everything.

but unfortunately the amount of work doesn’t worth it, especially when the majority of the audience is ready to eat anything as long as it’s good looking.

there are nicely written women with proper screen time, they’re just rather rare and few, and it’s very sad.
