I have no proof of this but I feel like they assumed he wasn’t dead bc Alastor would make a much bigger deal about his death. Bro would be trying to get a fucking Oscar in his final moments.

Like they had the brief “oh fuck is he dead??” Moment before realising “wait that fucker wouldn’t die quietly, if he was dead we would know.”

Anyone else still thinking about how no one bothered to look for Alastor after the final fight, they put up pictures and saluted to Sir Pentious and all that, but nothing for Alastor!! Charlie looked so mortified when she saw Adam and assumed Alastor fell, but no one else did a single thing about his abscene till he showed back up and yhey hugged him almost like they cared?? but do they?? How to adopt a grown man that thinks you’re a child

So first up Danny is older in this, late 30s at least but his ghost form hasn’t changed. So while yes as a human he looks like a full grown adult, as a ghost he still looks like a teen. He was also one of the earliest heroes. Being practically retired by the time Batman even gets started.

However bc the GIW had Amity Park on a full info black out for all of the time the Fenton portal was open most people don’t know that phantom has been around almost 2 decades now.

So anyway, with the Fenton portal close, the GIW shut down and Vlad dealt with Danny decides to set up shop in Gotham to start fresh and hopefully have a normal life.

Then Batman shows up.

Now Danny, knowing how hard doing this vigilante thing alone is, can’t just not help the kid. I mean yeah, kids definitely older than Danny was when he first started but he can’t be that much older than 20 and that’s a kid in Danny’s books. So he goes and starts helping the bat no matter how much the kid says he works alone.

The more and more he helps out the kid the more and more he starts seeing him as his kid. Especially when bats stops trying to get him to leave and works out that Danny knows what he’s doing and can help.

The two get rather close, even if neither of them know each other outside of the ‘mask’ and Danny starts wanting the take in the kid.

… and well… only problem with that is that bats thinks that Danny is the younger one…

And it hasn’t really occurred to Danny yet that bat doesn’t know he’s actually an adult…

So the GIV decided to turn to magic to deal with the ghost problem and they end up finding a spell that can banish a ghost from an area. Well they decide to take it to the extreme and banish every ghost from all the living world except this one field. Basically trapping all ghost on the living world there.

Now their plan kinda works but when most ghost felt the spell start they just left to the ghost zone so they wouldn’t be trapped.

Only four didn’t make it.

Those four being Danny, Dani, Vlad and Deadman.

Meanwhile the JL and JLD were in a meeting when deadman just fucking disappeared?? The only clue is that the people that have died before felt kinda weird and John (who has died and has magic) could tell some kind of spell was cast. So they all start trying to find where deadman is while deadman and the three halfas and running around in circles so the GIW can’t catch them (I picture this being like trying to catch a cat in a vet office)

That has Danny being Gotham and it has given me ideas!!

So after becoming the ghost king Danny gets a haunt. Now the thing about haunts (for this au) is that they r a reflection of its ruler. It’s basically their inter being made into a physical place.

Well that comes with a unique situation with Danny as he’s half alive. So bc of that half of his haunt is also alive (ie in the living world)

And bc time is more of a suggestion in the infinite realms, the living half of Danny’s haunt is and always has been Gotham.

This is also y Gotham is cursed. At first it was just Fenton luck but over the years power hunger ghost have cursed Danny and in turn his haunt.

Now with the background out of the way here we go

So one day it’s notice that Gotham is a bit more crazy than normal. Not only has crime and rouge activities randomly spiked but the weather is also going nuts. With random storms popping out of nowhere and even a blizzard in mid spring.

Deciding better save than sorry Batman calls in some JLD members to see if it’s magic related and it is. The JLD always knew Gotham was cursed but they can now feel a new and more powerful curse has been placed on the city. So they set about trying to get rid of it and they can’t

At this point is when they decide to pull John out of bed and get him to help to and after a bit of poking around he comes to the conclusion that the curse is anchored to something and so sets about summoning the anchor.

Yeah… non of them were expecting the king of the dead to be the anchor.

What’s worse is that Danny pops up in his spooky eldritch form and they quickly cancel the spell bc NOPE!!

So they naturally come to the conclusion that the king was the one to curse Gotham and he anchored the curse to himself so it couldn’t be easily lifted.

Meanwhile with Danny.

He’s having a rough go at it. This curse is pretty foul and he’s been stuck in his ‘spooky form’ bc his more approachable forms can’t handle it. Now Danny has been trying to get rid of all the curses on him for awhile but it was never top priority, u know with being king and all. Now tho it definitely is. However he’s in a bit of a bind bc ghost cant really remove curses and he doesn’t have the knowledge of how to do it while alive.

But those guys that summoned him definitely do and might be his best shot.

Basically from here it’s the Batfam plus JLD trying to figure out how to brake the curse on Gotham while also being jump scared by the king of the death popping out of nowhere only to be beating off with a broom back to the afterlife. Meanwhile Danny over here is just trying to figure out how to get their help even tho he looks like a nightmare personified and sounds like the screams of the damned

Random horror idea

U wake up in a room that’s perfectly mirrored down the middle. On the opposite side of the room from you is someone that looks exactly like you and is mirroring ur every move. The only thing that is different between you is ur expression. Rather than ur own expression it has a permanent smile and stares at you as if it can see into your very soul.

Other than that u two r identical and move identically. Every step u take it takes the same one. U sit on the bed on the right of the room it will sit on the left bed. U try to brake down the door on the right of the room it will try to brake the one on the left.

The doors in the room doesn’t open no matter how hard u try and there r no windows.

Now some people might not think this isn’t bad. That it’s not scary. Well it might not be at first. For the first hour the most scary thing would be ur inability to leave.

But as the hours pass of u staring at ur own face, unease will start to creep in. How long can u take being watched by the thing that wears ur face. How long can u look into ur own eyes but not see urself. How long can you handle being locked up with this thing.

And if u were to snap, to try and kill it. It copies ur every move. Every hit u land will also land on u. If u manage to draw the things blood it will draw urs as well. Every injury the creature gets u will also receive.

U will have no choice but to put up with it. To tolerate its eyes on u. U are trapped with this thing, there is no way out. U can not kill it without it killing u.

At this point ur exhausted and decide to try and get some sleep. U lay down on the right bed as it lays on the left and turn ur back to it. Ur mind doesn’t want to rest, to wired up from the situation u are in but exhaustion wins out as u start to drift off.

But just as u drop into sleep u hear movement from the other bed. U jolt up, wide away to find the creature it now stand next to the left bed while u are sitting on the right. U stand and it copies. U walk around and it copies. The only difference this time than before it that it’s off slightly. Always 2 steps to the right of the objects on its side of the room.

Always 2 steps closer to u than it was before

Vigilante roommate sitcom.

Had this idea and I now need it. Also don’t have any particular vigilantes in mind, can honestly work with anything

So the basic premise of 3 or 4 vigilantes r on brake on patrol or something and r complaining about this and that when one brings up rent. That they can only rent a tiny little shit hole of an apartment but can’t get a roommate bc then they’d have to hide being a vigilante from them.

This leads to the genius idea that they should all rent a place together!!

So the inter show has next to nothing to do with their vigilante work but is instead a sitcom style show of this group of vigilantes living together.

Like I can see the pilot being them going to a realtor and having like the weirdest request for the apartment they want and this poor realtor is just so confused as to y this group want a 4 bedroom with easy roof access but not so easy that other people in the building regularly go up there. Wants big windows but not a street view. A decent size bathroom but doesn’t care if the kitchen is shit. Plus there’s all the weird shit the group say when they go to look at potential apartments. Like one of them noting the expose rafters would be good to tie things to?? They also don’t want carpet bc it’s ‘a pain to clean bl- I mean, spills from. Like wine and stuff.’ Like this poor realtor is ready to either call it quits or call the cops before deciding to show them this one shitty place that no one wants bc it use to belong to the mob so there’s like hidden rooms and tunnels everywhere and the group takes one look around and go “it’s perfect!!”

And like I said the vigilante part is kinda just a background aspect for the show. It could just pass as a normal sitcom of 4 broke people living together but every ones and a while they start complaining about villain monologues and get into a heated debate about rescuing cats from trees.

So this starts with Danny becoming the ghost king on his 18th birthday and almost immediately every power-hungry ghost in existence starts proposing to him. At first he just ignores it but after the 10th time someone tries to kidnap him to marry him Greek god style, he’s fucking sick of it and goes to Clockwork for help.

He’s not much help. The only way for other people to stop trying to marry him is if he’s already married. What’s more, because he’s the king of the infinite realms, it has to be someone that’s considered a citizen of the Infinite Realms. (Like he can marry someone that’s still alive but they wouldn’t count and people will just keep trying to marry him) CW also warns him that people will try and kill anyone he marries if they can so a living person isn’t really ideal. The only bit of real helpfulness he does provide is a list of non-evil non-power-hungry citizens so he can have an easier time finding someone.

So Danny takes the list and starts crossing of names (like Johnny, even tho the guy won’t abuse the power of being the ghost princess, kitty would kill Danny for good this time) when he comes across the perfect candidate.

Jason Todd (Robin/Red Hood)

He’s been to Gotham before, knows the Robins all do good work and knows the Red Hood is already a good and fair ruler of his criminal underground. Plus the guy could definitely fight off any ghost trying to kill him even without the power boost and some helpful weapons Danny would give him if he agrees. Plus he has the perfect bargaining chip to get the guy to help by offering to fix the corrupted ectoplasm in him (not that he wasn’t gonna do that anyway when he had the time to but Hood didn’t need to know that)

So Danny hops over to Gotham and after quickly getting permission from Lady Gotham (she’s very protective of her Knights) heads over to crime ally and pitches the idea to Red Hood.

Which basically goes like-

Danny: so I give u, the title of prince, access to the Infinite Realms whenever u wish, a sweet private wing in my castle, any of the op ghost weapons in the castles armoury and a fix for ur rage problems and u marry me so I stop getting people trying to propose to me in increasingly more annoying ways :)

Jason, a literature geek with a secret desire to be the protagonist in a shitty YA romance: u had me at Prince

So the two of then jump over to the Infinite Realms to get married thinking it’ll take 30 minutes top only to learn that CW left out that a Royal wedding has to take at minimum a week otherwise no one will consider the Marriage valid. So the two, not backing out at this point, join in on the week of parties and celebrations without putting much more thought into it.

Meanwhile back in Gotham, after not having Red Hood check in after his patrol, Oracle searches CCTV and finds Jason having a conversation with a figure that is glitching out the camera to much to identify them, then the figure seemingly grabs Jason and drags him into a portal and the two of them disappear.

So obviously the Batfam comes to the conclusion that Jason was kidnapped by some sort of magical being and calls in John. He identify the magic as that of the ghost king’s and has been hearing that the king had been looking for a bride so comes to the conclusion that Jason has been kidnapped Persephone style to be be married and is under the (wrong) conclusion that it will mean Jason can’t leave the realm of the death after.

And so the Batfam + Constantine start planing to crash a wedding.

Clockwork is about to start ripping out his hair!! Nothing could be easy for him could it? On one hand he had a dimension full of super powerful beings that regularly rewrite their own reality by accident and on the other he has Danny climbing up the walls, becoming stir crazy after only a decade of being king!!

Well, wait a second. Their might be a way to solve two problems at once. His sure Danny would have fun with that world and he is responsible and noble enough to stop those idiots from braking space time. All he would have to do is ‘suggest’ his king go on a vacation!!

Meanwhile John Constantine just snapped out of a killer hangover by the sudden feeling that something was about to happen and that it would somehow involve death.

Danny had been the ghost king for years now and he was happy. All his loved ones were now part of his kingdom. He got along great with most of the ghost and the ones he didn’t still had a reluctant respect for him. While he never wanted to be king he has found himself quite happy with his life.

But there was still something missing. For years he didn’t know what it was. He didn’t understand this yearning he had to love someone. He had so many loved ones already! Still he felt there was something he was missing.

Then one day while travelling the realms he found a lost and scared, recently dead, 13 year old Jason Todd and he knew what he wanted. He wanted a child. He wanted to be a father.

Jason couldn’t remember much of him live, something common amongst new ghost. One thing he did remember though was his last moments and how badly in that moment he just wanted his dad.
