The wait is almost over… Book 2 of The Wych Elm Quartet is coming this September! 🐺🧙‍♀️🧜‍♀️ Get ready to dive back into a world where mermaids rule the oceans, werewolves prowl the forests, and witches are hiding secrets that could change everything.
Sebille Partridge is an Ímisy. Half-sprite, and half-human. She had come to accept that part of herself, living in Canada under the care of Agatha, a Nereid entrusted with her care after her father had been killed in a vengeful act by Abrecan, the Sea King. She thought she had come to accept that part of her life, learning to live as a sprite without a domain of her own, and as a Canadian wych, until one day, when a call from her past would change her life forever.
Joined with the cousin she never knew she had, Kavish, Sabri, and Sebille embark on a journey that may lead to a joyous reunion...or crumble into tragedy.

Last night at bedtime, I took my bedtime meds, went to bed, then at 3AM, began to wonder why I wasn't sleeping.
I got up to check my pill box because I had a bad feeling, and...someone, not gonna say who, accidentally took their daytime wake up meds instead of their sleepytime meds, and taking them together would be the kind of technicolour acid trip I am not prepared for, so I attempted to sleep until about 11AM when I gave up, and I've been in a haze ever since.
Suffice it to say, not getting much writing done today.

Snippet of the Day: A Call of the Sidhe
“So, there's like…different kinds of fairies?” Cedric finally managed to ask, and the man eyed him with vague annoyance, though Cedric wasn't really sure what he'd done to spark that particular reaction.            “Many,” the guy said bluntly. “Are you going to ask for your wish?”            “Wish, sure,” Cedric echoed, though he still had a hard time believing it. The phrase however sent a shiver down his spine. Ever since he'd been forced to retire, he’d hated the concept of wishing for anything. “So, is this a no-hold-barred sort of wish, or can I like…wish for more wishes?”            Cedric giggled in spite of himself, while the guy (he still couldn't think of him as a fairy) merely goggled at him.            “Fairy Law dictates that you have captured me, and I can offer you one wish in return. In Otherworld, the stipulations would be different.”                   “Fairy Law…” Cedric echoed. He wanted to laugh again—it sounded so made-up. “You guys actually have a code of conduct?”             “Yes?” the man replied, cocking his head a little. His eyes seemed to shine like stars in the moonlight, and Cedric felt his breath catch a little. He really was gorgeous—for a fairy, that is.

Snippet of the Day: Whispers in the Dark
“I'm telling you, this isn't okay,” Sarah insisted over lunch, and she watched with mild disgust as I jammed my mouth full of baby spinach drowning in ranch dressing. I fought the urge to roll my eyes at her, because the latest round of weird messages from another mystery spambot type account was just more insistence that he was a “nice” guy. “I've seen guys like this before. They go from zero to a hundred real fucking fast.”
“But what can I really do about it?” I replied with a grimace. “If I take this to the police, some machismo cop is just gonna accuse me of overreacting. The only thing I can do is ignore it and hope they stop.”
“They'll stop when you're dead,” Sarah filled in grimly, and I frowned at her cryptic tone. “I'm not joking, Lune, this stuff doesn't just stop. I told you—it always escalates.”

You gotta write for funsies sometimes. Everything doesn’t have to be groundbreaking. Like. Who cares if it’s a little silly it is made out of love

Snippet of the Day: Nightmare Fuel
“So, have you ever had a night terror like that before?”
“A night what?” I asked, stopping mid-slice as I turned to Isaac, who looked as calm and composed as he had last night during my nightmare freak-out.
“A night terror,” he repeated calmly. “In a nutshell, exactly what happened last night.”
I clenched my jaw as I returned to my meticulous bread slicing. I didn't know exactly why I was so angry, but for some reason the notion of something as unpleasant-sounding as a night terror being applied to myself didn't feel right.
