Winter's Orbit by Everina Maxwell

Vague summary: political intrigue, arranged marriage, murder mystery, space opera

Actual summary: Prince Kiem and Count Jainan (a representative of his home planet) are placed into an political marriage to help uphold a treaty renewal between planets. It all goes off the rails when Jainan becomes a suspect in his previous husband's murder. Play a whodunit amongst the timecrunch of saving the galaxy's peace and learning to love your new husband. This book had an amazing cast of characters and while I found the mystery pretty easy to parse, the story was all the better for it. The writing was my exact favorite style which led to smooth storytelling and a diverse cast that I loved.

Overall no notes I enjoyed it a lot and would definitely recommend checking it out!

Just finished Ravishing the Heiress by Sherry Thomas

Overall a very cute historical romance. I found it fast paced and the main female character was very interesting to me making it a quick read (like 3 hours tops)

Has marriage of convenience in over a longer timeline than normal which was very fun as far as watching the relationship develop

Things to beware: jumping back and forth in the timeline as well as to various POV to establish other books in the series with those characters

He couldn't believe this shit. The feeling of eyes on him gave an early indication of what he would have to face. If he opened his eyes. Maybe he wouldn't, and this time it wouldn't be true. This time he wouldn't have to throw his body and soul into every known trial imaginable, only to watch history repeat itself.

Over. And over. And over again.

"I think he's awake!"

So the choice has been made for him. There is no more time to waste in hurtling towards his destined conclusion. Opening his eyes, there is pain first as he adjusts to the light. Then his surroundings form. A fire, a table, some chairs all visible from where he lay. But this time there is something new as well. His companions in this occurrence are not the wisened warriors of the past. There are 4 children watching him. Perhaps the oldest is 16 at most.

And that cannot be allowed. Before, those he traveled with on his journeys knew what was coming. They could understand what was going to happen. No one not even out of their teen years could.

So it looks as if the time has come to change the story. And if it will not, then it will be altered by force.
