Just a note, this is a vent/rant about toxic fandom so don’t like, don’t read :)

Posting this on here and not TikTok because I don’t post my face on social media (I’m 17 and don’t feel comfy putting my face online while I’m a minor) but the Marauder’s fandom is awful. It’s been toxic, but what the non-American fans were doing during the ban was super disheartening. Cheering over people losing their rights? Over the government suppression of free speech? The entire reason I got TikTok was for fandom and the Marauders fandom in particular really went after us. I get it, I prefer setting accurate slang in fanfic, but I think people have once again forgotten the most basic fandom rule. Don’t like? Don’t read/watch. Who cares if Remus is wearing a sweater not a jumper? Don’t insult half your fandom. Shipping discourse, talking about “correct” English, like what? This is catching non native English speakers too. People were making lists of fanfic authors they didn’t like and talking about why those writers are “bad”. Fanfic writers write for free. A lot of them are teenagers, and particularly in this fandom, are in need of a safe space. In a fandom based around found family, don’t hate on the people who are just trying to have a safe space to express themselves. Anyway, sorry for the rant, I’m just really sick of fandoms being toxic all the time. I’m usually good at finding safe niches to hang out in, but not this time ig. Half the creators I follow went on five minute rants about why they hate me and all other American fans. It just sucks.

Anyway, sorry for the super long rant, I just needed to vent a little. Obviously I love this fandom, I just wish it didn’t hate me.

I am currently ill and I have both a migraine and a fever, and when I try to sleep with one or both, I have weird semi lucid dreams/hallucinations, not really sure which. Hello good people of tumblr!

I am currently compiling a list of male characters who have gotten the ✨sexy cheekbone cut✨ that is used most commonly for female characters to avoid “tarnishing their beauty” (forehead cuts also accepted under the trope)

This could be from something somewhat reasonable like a knife fight, or totally absurd like the only damage from an explosion.

This is for the sillies and for science (a conversation with my friend)

As my examples I will provide Bucky Barnes in the first Captain America movie:

I’m so sorry for the picture, it was the clearest one I could find. (I finished episode four for the first time last week suffer with me) Again, I get the avoidance of tarnishing his face, but it’s especially noticeable considering that Jack literally exploded from the bomb. Granted, Jack had the bomb inside him, and Ianto had some distance, but still.

Anyways, please give me more examples! I love silly trope subversions like this that are super unserious but just interesting :)

The weird thing about watching or reading children’s media, or just media with kids in it as a kid or teenager, is thinking “that’s rough, but they can handle it” and then becoming older than them and spending twenty minutes having a crisis because *what*?! Who decided to torment the child? Let me at ‘em!! Seriously, realizing I’m older than the characters I grew up with is crazy. Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, Katniss Everdeen. All of them are constantly going through it, and that’s wild, because I can’t deal with that much *now*. The poor children!!

i'm just curious bc i'm watching How to Train Your Dragon and i always forget how happy and calm it makes me feel. i mean, i did name my cat after Toothless the dragon. but i also love Lion King, that's my Disney comfort movie. and my Ghibli comfort movie is Spirited Away. watching any of these when i'm in a foul mood or my anxiety is high always helps 🥰 but i watch them just for fun too, not only when i'm in a mood. what about you?
