Emotion is the reason we become so invested in characters! It turns words on a page into a breathing person that lives in our minds. Make the emotions relatable and valid, and readers will see themselves in the writing. I read YA because teenagers have loud, honest emotions that deserve to be felt and understood. 

This is so useful! Emotion is one of the most important things to incorporate into your story - without it your reader is going to feel unattached and wonder why they are reading your work.
