Glitter, Speedos, and Tranny 12 Stilettos become a lot more essential for one making their way down the Rainbow Brick Road. A time we the Gays look forward to all year "LA PRIDE". A chance to show off the bods we have been feverishly trying to sculpt, perhaps a chance to catch a summer fling and hope to fall madly in love. While others bring out all the bells and whistles to really show what being a "Queen" is all about. The few times I've attended LA Pride from what i remember, well....let me rephrase that. What I can recollect because many of those long pride nights I either found myself passing out mid-afternoon of total intoxication or meeting nice hot fling for the weekend and would call it a night before the sun was even down. Typical Weho Weekend I might add (when I was single). One thing that I can always remember was a sense of belonging and no matter how much glitter we had on our eyes or time we spent at the gym, every time I looked into someones eyes I would see a glimpse of happiness, love and acceptance. Happy to finally be ones self. Love for themselves and the friends they have made along the way and who they now call family. Acceptance, not only acceptance in who they are but acceptance in a community that knows what they had to go through and trials and struggles to get to where they are now in life. The West Hollywood Community comes from all walks of life and all corners of the world and from all religious back grounds. You could say we are a Big Fruit Salad and up for any one to join in and have a taste of what and where we call home.
