Day 40 of 100 days of art challenge: I worked on my Roots project some more. I think I may be happy with Chicken George's face now. Everything is blended in for his hands and face. I'm starting to fill in the baby's swaddling blanket now. Trying to give it a slightly warmer shade of brown so it's not too matchy matchy. This is coming along much better than I thought it would. This project has intimidated me and challenged me beyond what I thought myself capable of. Days 23-24: I'm excited to reveal part of the next project I'm working on, which is inspired by the 2016 reboot of the powerful story, Roots. I felt very drawn to create an image of the naming ceremony, as it is so powerfully relevant to the story of Roots.
